Contacts birthday field incorrect

I access my iCloud contacts on a Windows PC with a Chrome browser. In many of my contacts, there is a Birthday field that is filled with my personal email address. When I delete this field and save it, it comes back. I just tried entering an actual birthday for a contact and the date showed up correctly formatted, but when I saved the entry, it once again showed that person's birthday as my email address. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

When I enter a birthday into the birthday field for a contact, the birthday doesn't show up on the calendar. I dunno but that just seems like logical behvior to me. Any way to make this work?
Not directly with the iPhone. With the Address Book and iCal on a Mac, there is an iCal option to show Birthdays calendar which pulls the birthday for each contact in the Address Book with a birthday entry. The iCal Birthdays calendar can be transferred/made available on the iPhone when syncing calendars/calendar events with iCal via the iTunes sync process.
Also, I noticed the birthday field in contacts has a month, day, and year entry. Is this meant for you to enter the person's birth year, or just the year of their next birthday?
Meant for the person's birth year.

  • Problem synchronizing contact birthday into the ca...

    Hi Nokia,
    I have a problem synchronizing the contact birthday into the calendar
    Need help Please.
    //Abdou

    I’ve had another look at this.
    I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
    Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
    For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
    The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
    The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
    When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
    I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
    I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
    It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

  • Contact Birthday Date Sync Problem N9

    I have a Nokia N9.
    I sync calendar and contacts with my Google Account via the MfE account on my N9.
    The Calendar entries work correctly.
    However, the Birthday and Anniversary date entries for my contacts mis-sync by one calendar day.
    For example, if a contact has a birthday on 10th November in my Google contacts, it displays as 11th November in my N9 Contacts list. Interestingly, if you 'click on' the birthday field from the Contacts entry, it will take you to the 10th November in the Calendar (that is, the correct date!).
    The time zone in both Google and the phone are correct and set the same (Syd/Mel, GMT +11). The formats are the same (24hr Clock etc). There are no alarms set as reminders in either Google or the phone.
    Anybody know how to make the phone sync the dates correctly? Thanks

  • Address Book contact preview shows a different date than what is input in the birthday field.

    When opening the address book and clicking on an entry, the preview pane at the bottom shows a different date than the date that is entered in the birthday field. It shows the day before the actual date that is entered. See images below:
    Thanks!

    Thunderbird numbering is based on the Extended Support Releases, which are provided every seven "regular" cycles (thus after 7 6-week cycles = every 42 weeks) to minimize fallout from new features hitting the releases to frequently. Initially, those release were issued to organizations only which require some kind of internal review or certification of software prior to deployment.
    Currently we are in the "37.0" cycle and 38 beta 1 has just been released (but doesn't have the fix yet). Meaning, the next release after 31.6.0 won't be 31.7.0 but 38.0 already, followed by 38.1.0 up to 38.6.0, the continuing with 45.0, etc.
    Confusing, yes, but that's what they came up with.

  • Google Contact Birthdays

    Currently I my 3GS iPhone is running the new iOS4 system. I've synced all of my Google contacts to my iPhone, everything seems to appear except for the birthday field in my iPhone. Is there a way to sync so that the birthdays appear in my contact list or do I have to manually enter all of my contacts birthday so that it appears in my phone + calendar?

    Doesn't this happen to anyone? I tried it on my wife's phone, and it also has this bug. It happens on iOS only. Try creating an All-day event on October 19th. you'll notice that it spills over to the next day. and this bug has been around since at least iOS 6.
    Here's another question: If nobody knows how to fix this, how can I file a bug report?
    cheers!

  • Address Book - Birthday Field question

    I was trying to make an entry on the birthday field in one of my contacts. The field does not give me an option to change the year of birth. It defaults to 2000.
    The other question is how can we set up alerts, so that we can maybe send out a card in advance? Thanks!
    Is there a way to fix this?
    imac user

    With the Address card in Edit mode you should be able to click the year field and after it highlights blue, change it to the year you need.
    According to Address book Help, in the Address Book Help Menu;
    You can keep track of contacts’ birthdays by creating a birthday calendar that automatically includes all the birthdays in your address book.
    1. In Address Book, make sure you’ve entered the birthdate for each contact whose birthday you want to track.
    2. In iCal, choose iCal > Preferences.
    3. In the General pane, select the “Show Birthdays calendar” checkbox.
    Birthdays in your address book are automatically added to the Birthdays calendar in iCal. When you add or remove birthday information in Address Book, the Birthdays calendar is also updated. You can’t make changes to the Birthdays calendar in iCal; to change it, you must edit the information in Address Book.
    You can check in iCal Help for info on setting alerts.

  • Address Book 'Birthday' field not sync onto Palm e2 'Birthday' custom field

    Hi,
    In my OSX Address Book, I have a 'Birthday' field in which I want to isync to my Palm e2 contact.
    To date, I have not been able to transfer this information even though I have created a 'birthday' custom field in the palm device. This information does not get isync between Address Book and e2 Contact.
    Does anyone else have this problem?
    If you have solved it, I hope you can share this with me please.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to edit birthday field in Address book

    I am unable to edit a card in address book properly. If I try to enter a birthday in the birthday field by either May 2, 1972 or 05/02/1975 no input of any kind sticks.
    Can anyone tell me why and how to fix this problem?

    There is something really weird going on.
    If I start a blank test card and I type (all end in return):
    December 1 1973, the field goes blank
    If I type December 1 (return), the field changes to 1 December.  Then, if I put my cursor in, I can go back and add 1973, but not with the orignal December 1.
    I CAN write 1 December 1973, but not December 1 1973.
    This is bizarre.  It worked just fine before Lion.
    In Canada (which is my chosen country and language on my keyboard when I set up my user) we say Month/Day/Year.  In Quebec I believe they would write 1 December 1973, but in Ontario we would write December 1, 1973.
    This is no longer intuitive and a huge time waster!

    If I am missing what you are asking then please provide instructions as to how to find this error information. You are posting the error message for the exception but not printing the stack trace.
    Far as I can tell you are printing more information with each exception (for example "Exception creating Users table") but you did not post what that was, that info would localize the problem.
    As a guess the problem is when you extract the fields via the query. You are using named values rather than indexes and you use "select *" rather than specifically naming the columns. Some databases (for example Oracle), require that using names must be in exactly the same order as the query returns them. You have no idea what that order is because you use "select *"
    Finally it would be a LOT easier if you wrote classes that did nothing but the database operations. NO GUI CODE. You then test that code to make sure it works. Once that code works then you write gui code which uses those classes. Besides making it easier to understand you are also more likely to get assistance since there is less code to look at.

    Here's from one of those 10s of books.
    Quoted from JDBC 3.0 by Bernard Van Haecke:
    Stored procedures can return multiple result types because they can be composed of SQL statements that return diverse result types: resultsets and update counts (this includes special error codes).
    Now this doesn't sound very satisfactory. So I use Sybase since I don't have any other database at the moment, and write a simple stored procedure.
    CREATE proc testproc AS
    BEGIN
    -- My return code
    return 7
    END
    goThen a sample patchy buggy code to play around:
    import java.sql.*;
    public class ProcTesting {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            String connUrl          = "jdbc:sybase:Tds:myserver:5150/dbinst";
            String userName         = "username";
            String password         = "password";
            Connection con          = null;
            CallableStatement stmt  = null;
            ResultSet rs            = null;
            String sql = "{? = call testproc}";
            try {
                Class.forName("com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver").newInstance();
                con     = DriverManager.getConnection(connUrl, userName, password);
                stmt    = con.prepareCall(sql);
                stmt.registerOutParameter(1, Types.INTEGER);
                stmt.execute();
                System.out.println(stmt.getInt(1));
            } catch(Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            } finally {
                closeAll(con, stmt);
        public static void closeAll(Connection con, Statement stmt) {
            try {
                con.close();
            } catch(Exception e) {  }
            try {
                stmt.close();
            } catch(Exception e) {  }
    }Followed by:
    javac ProcTesting.java
    java -cp "%CLASSPATH%;C:\jarutils\jconn2.jar" ProcTesting
    Output:
    7
    Didn't you know this could be done?
    Happy new year, grandpa!
