Contacts Birthdays syncing to wrong calendar

I'm using a Blackberry Torch 9800 with 2 main email addresses (both gmails) being sync to it wirelessly. I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people. Could anyone help me on this? I tried googling all over but couldn't find any solutions to it... Thanks!

I would guess your blackberry is creating the birthdays under your "default" calendar which is Account 2.
To check which is your default calendar, go to Options - Device - Advanced System Settings - Default Services and check which account is assigned as default for Calendar (CICAL).

    Hi Hindie,
If you are having issues syncing contacts on your new iPad Mini, you may want to double check how you have your contacts set to sync. The "Contacts" section of the following article should outline the process:

  • Contacts birthday sync issue between iphone- gmail

Hi, i have an Exchange Account with my gmail (ContactMailCalendar).
since i have OS4, i noticed a strange thing. when i add/edit a birthday field on my Contacts (gmail contacts on my iphone), it doesn't update the birthday field correctly .for example, if I put the birthday of October 27, 1987 for a contact on my iphone, it will sync to my Gmail contact as October 26, 1987 - a day before. i chacked Time Zone and didnt find any problem... please check it out...

I have the very same issue: Iphone 3GS, iOS4 & birthday in my Gmail always equals previous day as I entered on my iPhone. Please look into this issue & provide a solution.

  • Sync contact birthdays to the Calendar?

Is there a way I can have the birthdates in all my contacts info, sync onto the calendar to display their birthdays?

Did you import the contacts? If you create the contact from scratch or add a b-day later, it should create the calendar item automatically. If you import contacts, this usually doesn't happen until you edit the contact. There is a utility at rsoutlook.com that will create the b-days following import.

  • Contact Birthday Date Sync Problem N9

    I have a Nokia N9.
I sync calendar and contacts with my Google Account via the MfE account on my N9.
    The Calendar entries work correctly.
However, the Birthday and Anniversary date entries for my contacts mis-sync by one calendar day.
For example, if a contact has a birthday on 10th November in my Google contacts, it displays as 11th November in my N9 Contacts list. Interestingly, if you 'click on' the birthday field from the Contacts entry, it will take you to the 10th November in the Calendar (that is, the correct date!).
The time zone in both Google and the phone are correct and set the same (Syd/Mel, GMT +11). The formats are the same (24hr Clock etc). There are no alarms set as reminders in either Google or the phone.
Anybody know how to make the phone sync the dates correctly? Thanks

I’ve had another look at this.
I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

  • Contact birthdays in calendar?

I think this is in the right board...
Is it possible to make contacts birthdays appear within the calendar? we can currently assign contacts a "birthday" detail but there seems to be no way of viewing this outside of the contacts card itself.
Wouldnt it make sense to have them show up automatically within the calendar? or am i missing the option somewhere which will allow me to do this.
    thanks for any help.

    Greetings.
I have a E52 and i thought this happened due to the fact that it was a e-series. After i speak with other users of nokia mobiles i realized it's a flaw common to all nokia mobiles.
In my opinion it's a HUGE failure from nokia and an unforgiving one! Remember that "pre-historic" Sony Ericsson 's had this functionality well integrated between Contacts and Calendar.
So i ask, what is the porpuse of the Contacts have a detail for the birthdate if it cannot notify us?!
One ideia (and a simple one, i think) was to show in the home screen a "warning" for the birthdates of the contacts that had their anniversary in that day. Just like it happens now with the meetings, etc.
Or (if nokia want to do it right...) create automatically a entry in the calendar.
How did they let this pass? My god, it's an obvious functionality!
This "detail" makes me want to go back to my sony ericsson, because one of the things that made me try the e-series was the supposed integration between the various tasks i have to work with.
Sorry for writting my frustation and for bringing up this topic from the "underworld) (LOL) but it's unbelievable.
Is there some sort of contact to nokia to give them suggestions about new features that would be very useful?
    Best regards.
    Hemisaro.

  • Sync with outlook (calendar problem)

I used to sync and everything was all right, but now (I don't know after what) everything syncs but my calendar. I use microsoft outlook 2003 and all my app.s are up to date.
Now, contacts are syncing but not calendar. any ideas? I am going insane...
    thx..

At times, Outlook's pst file can become corrupt for one reason or another. This can cause issues when you are syncing to the iPhone. Look at this link from Microsoft in regards to running a check on the pst file to repair any problems you may have.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227
Once you run that, try another sync. If it still won't sync, you may have to go into iTunes preferences and reset the sync history and try again. That will usually correct the problems that can occur. Also, make sure you have all of the pertinent updates to both XP and Office 2003.

  • ICloud and Outlook 2013 - Wrong calendar is being synced, how to change?

    Hi all,
I have iCloud installed and running Outlook 2013 on my Windows 8 computer and I'm having an issue with syncing calendars.  I've looked all through the discussions and haven't seen an answer for my issue so hopefully someone can assist.
iCloud is installed correctly and under the iCloud section in Outlook, there is a calendar and it does sync with my iPhone 5 but it's the wrong calendar.  It's not the main calendar that is up in my list of folders for my email account.  I can't find a place to tell iCloud which calendar to sync with so I'm not sure how to go about getting the correct calendar - or both if need be - syncing with my phone.
    Thanks in advance!

iCloud was built to provide a synchronization option and is claimed to work with Outlook.  Unfortunately it has a basic flaw that makes it almost unuseable by anyone that receives invitations via email, therefore it doesn't do what is claimed.
I'm sure it works great with the other Apple products. And maybe Apple doesn't care to worry about Microsoft, assuming that people will blame MS for this failing and buy a Mac.  That is a shame because, like it or not, Microsoft is still the 800lb gorilla in terms of office products.
Unfortunately you have entirely misunderstood iCloud, it is NOT a sync service, it is a subscription account that you can subscribe to with Outlook (amongst others). It does not sync your local calendar, instead you use the iCloud calendar.
It is Microsoft who chose this behaviour, not Apple (although this problem does not exist with Outlook for Mac), Microsoft chose to make that entirely incompatible with iCloud calendars and contacts, thus avoiding the issue

  • How can I still sync my 3G Calendar & Contacts through iTunes?

Made the switch to iCloud from Mobile Me for my Mac and iPad. My iPhone 3G didn't make the cut, but I still want to sync it with iCal and Address Book through iTunes. In my last two backup sessions, I have checked Sync Contacts and Sync Calendars, then checked the boxes under Advanced to overwrite Calendars and Contacts with records from my Mac's iCal and Address Book. Nothing happened.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this capability also disabled for the iPhone 3G?

    (bump)

  • Sync between MacBookPro and iPhone 3G does not sync properly.  Calendars duplicate events but worse is that only contacts from Address book from letter T onwards sync.  Any contacts on iPhone which are not on Mac are lost during sync.

    Solutions?

No, I never really found an easy solution.  I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device.  In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs.  A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup.  It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad.  But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost.  When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might.  If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it.  I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by.

  • How can I sync my outlook calendar and contacts to my ipad with the new iTunes 11.0.1

I updated itunes to 11.0.1 and now I can´t sync my calendar and contacts to Outlook, under the "Info" tab, the combo option is no longer in the Sync Contacts and Sync Calendar sections. Thanks

They can't sync if the old Lotus wasn't designed to sync with the iOS.

It is unusual for the calendar to sync and not the contacts in Outlook. I've worked with Outlook for years. You didn't answer what computer OS you are using. If it is Windows, have you tried to reset the sync history in iTunes? Do that by opening iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and click on reset sync history. If you have done this and it doesn't help, then we can try and run scanpst.exe on your Outlook file and see if there are any errors. Search your computer for that file, however it normally resides in one of the Microsoft Office folders in the folder Program files. After that, you can see if it will sync.

hello, the addons manager is exactly the right place to look for it. please try disabling the addons that are listed there one-by-one (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step). maybe one of them is bundling this kind of adware.

Click on calendars at the bottom of the screen. Make sure that birthdays are checked.
We may think we have 1 calendar, but iPhone puts things in different calendars. Sometimes we can somehow lose one. Well not really lost, but somehow it just gets de-selected. So just make sure that all that you want to see are checked.
One cool thing I like about this is that they have added US Holidays which didn't used to be there like on most paper calendars. Nice to have them available now!
