Contacts changes notes in intelligent groups (heavy bug)

I organize my 2.700 contacs with Contacts. But there is a heavy bug by filtering contacts with an keyword in the note section:
If I display an intelligent group and I change only one contact's note with one word, Contacts changes every note in the following entries (alphabetically ordered) with the same word.

Hi. In Contacts in Yosemite, is there any way to see a list of contacts who are not in a particular Group?
I've been using Macs for years, and I still can't believe that this is not a fundamental feature. Sure, it's good to know which contacts are in a Group. But it's maybe even more important to know which contacts are not in that Group. (Scanning a list of non-members for people who should be members is a simple task. Scanning All Contacts for people who should be in a Group, then checking each and every one to see whether they are in that Group, is a crazy way to spend time. Sure you can dump it out to Excel or something, but...really?) Not having that feature in a contacts-management app is almost unthinkable, and yet...I've been poking around for years to find it in Contacts. So I'm hoping that Yosemite now has it, but I haven't been able to find it.

I have a iphone 4 with 2400 contacts on iCloud, I really like the contact management and use with great satisfaction.
I use a computer at work windows 7 and outlook 2010, I installed the panel icloud to sync contacts with iCloud.
Here's the problem:
When I insert / edit / delete a contact on iphone / icloud, the change is propagated in Outlook.
if i insert / edit / delete a contact in Outlook, the change is propagated NOT on iphone / icloud.
I have made several attempts and tests.
disconnected from the icloud control panel, logout / login, checks on plugin outlook add-ons, no positive results!
is a known problem?
is a known bug in the system?
Any idea?

Contact names not appearing in group text

When sending a group text the contact names do not appear but the phone numbers do, is there a way to change this? Phone is a Z30 STA100-5

I didn't have the problem when returning from International, but I did have the problem right after my new Verizon iphone was set up last week.
After reading some of the posts in the support forum, I first edited my contacts to include the +1 in front of the phone numbers (this may have been an unnecessary step, and it certainly was an annoying one).
Second, I used the *228 set up feature, closed the phone, contacts and text functions on the phone, then turned the phone off and back on, and it seemed to fix the problem for the most part. I think if you search the forum for *228, you will find posts that have the full sequence of steps to follow..
I have other issues with my phone, but at least this one seems cleared up for now.

Changing NOTES for entire group at once?

Is there a way to change the NOTE field in all contacts in a group (not smart group) at one time instead of doing each one?

Open up Applescript Editor.
Paste in this codetell application "Address Book"
repeat with aPerson in people of group "Test Group"
set note of aPerson to "note text"

end tellReplace Test Group with your group name. Replace note text with the text you want in the notes. click the Green triangle button.
If you want to append the "note text" to the current note, change that line toset note of aPerson to note of aPerson & return & "note text"

Not all fields in my adress book cards are available in the list to create an intelligent group.

How come, and how do I add the missing field to that defiling list?

Unfortunately (debatable...) I am still running Snow Leopard. The field is already added but does not appear in the pop-up list which defines the first of the three elements forming a selection condition in an intelligent group.
Q: Is that pop-up list limited to certain fields?
The disappearing field is called "profession" in my Address Book. Poptentially useful to sort professional contacts...
Q: Does it normally exist or was it added in some obscure way (which I am unable to reproduce now) ?

Mac Contacts changes are not updated on iCloud

My Mac and iPad are both linked to iCloud. Almost everything syncs perfectly. In Contacts I can make changes/additions on the iPad or in iCloud on the web, and the changes propagate to the others, including the Mac.
HOWEVER, if I make changes to Contacts on the Mac, they do NOT appear in iCloud or the iPad.
What do I need to check to find the problem?

This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Contacts (Address Book).
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

How to build an intelligent group from a 'real' group in Apple contacts

It seems not to be possible making the 'intelligent group builder' willing to accept a contact group as basis for a query. E.g. it only works with the total of the contact records. If true, this would limit the functionality to .... Please, tell me, that I'm wrong.

TS4036 My contact changes on one device are not automatically updating to my others. I have the iPhone 4, MacBook Pro & the latest iPad. All are running on iOS6 and use Safari. What am I missing?

Contacts are not syncing on my MacBookPro, iPhone4 & my iPad.

On iOS devices, go to Settings>icloud, be sure each is connected to the proper icloud account and that the Contacts on/off switch is turned ON. Check a similar things on the mac (system preferences).
Also, contacts are listed as being either in the "iCloud" group or the "On My Mac" (or iPad, iPhone). Anything in the "On My Mac" (or whatever device it is) does not sync via icloud, only contacts in "iCloud" sync.

Group contacts did not work correctly since IOS 6

Hi Guys,
since update from IOS 5.1.1 to IOS 6.0 it isn't possible to show groups in Contact seperatly.
Neither on my IPHONE 4 and now on my IPHONE 5.
In IOS 5.x.x it was possible to list seperate groups.
I tried this with my ICLOUD Account and also with my GMAIL Account.
I need to have different group lists for my work - e.g "Private", "Work", ...
In IOS 5.x.x it was possible to list the contact folder, than click on "groups" and there it was possible to select the group i wanted.
Than I've only seen the contacts from the selected group.
Now since update to IOS 6 it doesen't work like this. There is only the opportunity to mark or unmark a contact group to list it seperately.
Can You explain how this is going to work on IOS6 ??
Or do You know an application to group contacts seperatly.
I set up my GMAIL Account as "Exchange Account" to see the contact groups.
It's nessecary that it syncronises correctly with my GMAIL Account, because I also use an IPAD.
I've over 250 contacts, so it has to work correctly.
I can't understand, why apple removed this feature in IOS 6.
I hope you know what I mean.

Do you really have them all? I created a group I wanted and synced the phone. Now my phone contacts has 2 groups, all contacts and phone contacts. However, when I scroll to the bottom of the contacts list, both show the same 164 contacts, not all the 470 contacts in my address book. I have just the contacts I wanted, but it is confusing by having the "all contacts" list on the phone. They are really just the same lists.

I'm guessing outlook doesn't support iCloud or vice versa or the settings for iCloud in Outlook are turned off. Just a guess though I don't use Microsoft products if I can help it.

AD Security Group name change not showing in Sharepoint 2010

Hi!
We have a Sharepoint 2010 Standard enviroment and are heading for a role-based identity-managment in our company. That's why we find it better to use AD Groups instead of Sharepoint Groups.
So we have over 1000 AD Security Groups groups that have been added to our Sharepoint Sites and our goal is to control every permission in Sharepoint from AD.
I have done all this with the combination of Excel and Powershell and it have worked great.
The problem i see in the long run is the name change of AD Security Groups. Sharepoint 2010 isn't showing the new name of the group.
Does anyone know of any workaround that can solve this problem. It's a bit of a disappointment that Microsoft haven't fixed this. The only information i think they should store in Sharepoint is the SID of the groups.
I was thinking of designing a powershell script that runs every night and updates the display name of the groups that do not match the AD display name.
Is there any other way?

As far as I know, and I'm not sure where to go from here without testing on my own...and I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that. Perhaps a configuration issue.
Have you tried removing the incorrectly named group and adding in the correctly named one?

HT204150 iCloud contacts, they won't save. I get a message stating that "Your changes to this contact could not be saved because of server error". What can I do?

Some of my edits of contacts in the iCloud contacts will not save. Instead, I get the message that "Your changes to this contact could not be saved because of a server error". Other, similar, edits are saving and synching to other Apple devices.

Jeffeighmy - I had this same problem last week. I think it is an iCould issue. It resolved itself. Just frustrating. I had reinstalled iCloud Control Panel and it would not let me save contacts or calendars. Then it just happened after a couple of days of trying. My contacts on my iphone are now duplicated, not in Outlook. Then when I delete one on the iphone it deletes it up through icloud and my pc so I loose that contact. Go figure.

Hello,
I ran a report. Within that report, a BAPI is called. It's name is user_change.
That BAPI enables you to change user details like passwords and so on...
When I tried to change the user's password, an error message occured.
"You are not authorized to change users in user group XY"
The user belongs to the group XY.
After an unsuccessful pwd change, there is no SU53 file!
So how could I solve that?
Could I explicitly define for which user groups, passwords can be changed?
Any other ideas?
