Contacts disappear on iCloud. Replaced by someone else's!!!!

When I checked my iphone and computer this morning, my contacts had been changed!!!! Mine were gone and I had 27 new names...with numbers in Marocco. So there must be a big bug on icloud! 2 weeks ago, some one elses photos also appeared on my photos linked with icloud.
What can I do to get my contacts back?
Thanks. Arabelle

Sounds like someone is using your Apple ID/password. You should immediately change your password.

Can I share my iCloud Photostream with someone else with a different Apple ID? How?

    Yeah no kidding.
I have a big paid up MobileMe account with tons of gallery stuff - this will all go away for me in July, and I'll miss it - it took no learning to use, and it was built into everything - just intuitive to post to a gallery password protect it, and send a link to a friend.  Click click done!
It bothers me a lot when features I really enjoy and use are pulled in these half baked new apps and services.
iMovie used to be quite good, but the new one is very restrictive - it's a step backwards in some ways.
MobileMe was fine, but iCloud takes away the Gallery???? - another step backward.
We use some iPhones at work for shooting some videos and technical engineering photo's, and while it's pretty cool that the iPhone photo's get put on the photostream of "Jason's iMac", I don't have instant access, and I would really like to be able to do that. If it could be done, then I can stay at home and work sometimes and I can get the photo's automagically.
    Apple - please fix this.

It is locked to your sisters carrier.
She would have to ask her carrier if they unlock iPhones and if she qualifies for this service.

  • Why have my contacts disappeared and been replaced with some Facebook friend names?

A few days ago, all of my contacts disappeared and were replaced by the names of SOME of my Facebook friends.  None of these have any telephone contact information, it's all email addresses associated with those Facebook friends. For instance, my husband's name, emails and phone numbers were all deleted from my contacts - help!

Look under iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is there a backup listed for her phone? First thing done when you sync is an iPhone backup. If you have not synced since screwing her phone up, restoring from that backup(if it exists) should restore her content. Do not sync after you restore her phone, eject it. So, first disable auto-sync on that same device pane in iTunes before you proceed. If this doesn't work, is your sister bigger than you? If so, run 'cause her data is gone .

  • ICloud Backup restoring someone else's Apple ID information.

    Hey guys,
Every time I restore from a particular backup on my iPad, it restores and constantly pops up someone else's Apple ID. I won't specify the ID for security reasons, but I have isolated it to the iCloud backup. I can backup from the iCloud backup in iTunes and restore from that backup with no issues. Of course I know that the backups from iCloud and iTunes are completely separate, but I'm curious as to what might cause this to happen? Might it be pulling the information from the iCloud server farm when restoring my backup, possibly on the same farm as the information for this Apple ID? It has me baffled...
Anyone else experiencing these issues? Either it comes up once, or it shows multiple times. I have some friends who will get multiple different Apple IDs pop up, but more randomly.
Anything helps. The only two relative things I can link between accounts is that we both have Developer accounts. I don't know if this has anything to do with it? No idea.
    Yeti

    *UPDATE*
I have run into other friends who are experiencing similar issues with restoring from backups in iCloud that DO NOT have developer accounts. Does anyone have any insight on what might be causing this? Is there somewhere else I should look?
    Thank you.

Is there anyway I can change the iCloud account On my iPod5 from someone else's iCloud account to my iCloud account?

    As I stated earlier:
You will need the Apple ID and password of the previous owner or the device will be locked and cannot be used.

  • Why are my notes on iPhone replaced by someone else's?

I was typing a note on my Mac and suddenly it disappeared along with all my other notes except for one through my yahoo account. I then looked at my iPhone and all my notes on my phone disappeared as well except for that same one. Also on my phone, three notes from somebody else appeared. I checked my mail, contacts and calendars settings and they all seem right. What happened to my notes? Could somebody else have access to my notes right now? I'm not using iCloud for my notes.

  • Why are contacts disappearing from iCloud?

I was using a friend's computer to send an email and logged onto icloud.com.  I was typing an email to a contact who I knew was in my address book, but for some reason the to field in mail wasn't able to find that contact.  I then went to the address book on icloud and again could not find the contact there.  I had my phone handy, so I went on my iPhone and I could see plain as day that that I had that contact on my phone.  And then after I accessed that contact on my phone, it magically appeared in icloud.
Wierd right??  but the wierdest thing of all is that contact had been in my phone for at least a month and it was also in my computer address book, so what is going on??
It seems like there is something really wrong with the syncing mechanism and I wonder if I did not have my iPhone handy would I have been able to find that address??
Anybody else with the same problems??  Any solutions??
    Thanks

I get the exact same behavior. It is maddening. I find if I use the "sources" function, it happens more. I ended up wresting with it via the album view and it seemed better, but much less convenient. I've had this occur on the iPod app on my iPad, as well as on my iPod touch. Editting playlists is very flaky.
In addition to seeing this, I just had the playlist that I spent a good 30 minutes making, working with the disappearing bug, itself disappear after two days. The whole playlist vanished.

  • Iphone 4 contacts disappeared - no iCloud backup, help???

I have an iPhone 4 with probably outdated operating software.
I was composing a text message when the applicaton closed abruptly.  When I opened it back up, my contact names were missing, so all I have is numbers in my address book.
I do not have an icloud or back up that I know about.
Why hasn't someone sued Apple for a class action about this if its such an issue?  Or please tell me how they can be recovered???
    Thank you!

You should never have anything only on the iphone.
The iphone is designed to bo synced to your computer or cloud based system.
Not sure how you see this as Apples fault, if you simply fail to do the very basics.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  Everything should be on your computer.  The iphone simply allows it to be portable.

  • Is there a way to check my iCloud mail from someone else's iPad?

I understand the marketing behind encourage synchronizing accounts upon initial attempt to access the iCloud site from an iOS device. However, the issue I am having is when I want to use my SO's iPad "ruhl quick lyke" to access my e-mail and instead of opening iCloud.com and getting asked for my e-mail, I am asked to register iCloud on my device. All I want is a login screen. I do not want to sync my mail to his device, and I'm guessing he must not want to sync his apple ID as he has yet to do it. So my question is 1) is there a way for me to bypass the iPad_welcome site and login without syncing, and 2) if he choses to sync if I will be able to access my icloud from his device. Thank you sincerely.

Seriously? Not really sure what else to say. Doesn't Apple have any user experience experts? Or are they all 22 year old programmers who never, ever, put down their company-supplied iPhones?

  • The stolen phone can be replaced by someone else

    Please, help me.
My phone has stolen on 5/14/2013. I called apple technical support number(********) as soon as possible, and reported the situation(the case number is ********). Few days later, which is 5/17/2013, I dialed that number again and wanted to know how was going. And then, the supporter told me that someone took the stolen phone to go to one of the apple stores and replaced the stolen phone because that phone's mic had no sound.
After the call, I go to the apple store with a policeman. But the stuff, who is the manager at that store, said that he didn't know why that man could replace the stolen phone and didn't have any responsibilities for the mistake. And then, this manager showed his rudeness, didn't even want to talk to us, me and the policeman. Because of the manager's noncooperation, the policeman can do nothing! No one can give me a reasonable explanation! The apple store's stuffs didn't even check the record if it's a stolen phone or not!
I was wondering if the stolen phone can be replaced at a apple official store without any ownership proof. Don't the stuffs should check the phone's record first? I just want to take my phone back. If anyone has any suggestions, please . Thank you!

Sorry to hear about your stolen iPhone but, you need to understand that Apple is not law enforcement, they will not try to retrieve a stolen Apple product.  Then will replace an Apple product if they determine that the workmanship was the cause of a problem with a device. That's a good thing for the general public.  I understand your issue that you would like Apple to help you retrieve your stolen iPhone, but that will not happen, that's law enforcement's job.  You should look at this as a learning experience, purchase another iPhone and make sure you keep a close eye on it at all times, they are a hot commodity!

Unfortunately, Apple will not help nor cooperate unless you have a court order. That way, Apple rid itself from any legal nightmares and responsibilities.

I want my husband to be able to access my icloud from his iPad.  He does not want to sync my info to his iPad.  He doesn't want to have to use his computer to access it since he doesn't always have his computer with him but he always has his iPad.  Is there a way to sign into icloud as a different user from an iPad?
