Contacts do not appear in phone

I installed BB Link yesterday to transfer outlook (2007) calendar and contact information to a newly bought Z10 via USB. No previous BB device. Two problems occured:
(1) All-Day-Entries in the calendar are modified during the transfer, as they appear in the phone's calendar starting one day earlier at 10 pm, thus ranging over 2 days.
(2) Much worse, the software indicates that (~200) contacts were transfered to the phone. None of them can be found in the 'contacts'-appof the phone, though.
I use outlook 2007/Windows Vista, sync via USB (I do not want to establish a gmail-account just for the purpose of transfer), and BlackBerry Link. 1.0.1.17
I already updated the phone-software and thus resetted the phone. Besides, I de- and reinstalled BB Links and repeated the procedure.
This is extremely annoying. I won't transfer 200 contacts manually.
What can I do?

Are your Microsoft Outlook Contacts stored locally?
(This feature supports import of locally stored contacts and calendar appointments that are not syncing to an online source. If your Microsoft Outlook contacts and calendar appointments are syncing with an online source such as Microsoft Exchange, they will not transfer over.)
What is the time zone set to on the BlackBerry smartphone, Microsoft Outlook and the PC?

My contacts do not appear in messages on Macbook

I have all my contacts saved and there are in my Contacts on phone and laptop but when i am using Message on Macbook, the contacts do not appear on the side and its only there phone number.

Please try each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
Step 1
From the Messages menu bar, select
View ▹ Buddy Names ▹ Show Full Names (or Show Short Names)
Step 2
From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Language & Region
From the Region menu in the window, select one of the preset regions. If one is already selected, choose a different one, then change it back. Close the preference pane. Quit and relaunch Messages.
If you still have the problem after taking those steps, post your results.

Sending Texts from My Verizon - my Contacts do not appear

I want to use the "Messaging - Send Text" feature of the My Verizon website. I can login, select "Messaging - Send Text" and the Send Text options display. One of them is Contacts. It displays 6 contacts; for some reason, only my immediate family members are displayed. On my phone and in "Messaging - Contacts" I have at least 100 contacts.
How come my 100+ Contacts do not appear in the "Messaging - Send Text" area of My Verizon? Thanks for any comments!

The contacts that you see displayed are the people you have sent messages to from the My Verizon web site. Your contacts do not automatically sync to the web site, you have to enter the contact information and then select save contact. Since there are three different ways to send messages from the site, you are able to customize your contacts. I have provided some additional information below for your review:

Three ways to send text messages:
Text to another mobile phone - using any 10 digit phone number that can receive a text message.
Text to a mobile phone from your PC using the "Send a Text" option from the menu at left.
Text to mobile phone from E-mail, send and receive text messages from any email address in the world by addressing the email to your 10 digit mobile number, [email protected], or your custom [email protected]

The iphone is not a storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception being itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

Synchronized Contacts do not appear in Address Book

Hello,
I have OS 10.6.6, iSync 3.1, Address Book 5.0.3 and a NOKIA 6500c Phone. I successfully installed the plugin for the Nokia (at least it seems like it, the phone is recognized).
I have like 6 contact in Address Book and like 150 on Phone. When I do the "first time" sync I chose "merge" phone and computer. When doing the sync, on the phone display a status bar appears and it says x/150 synchronized, as should be, and within a few seconds its done. But the contacts do not appear in Address Book. I've tried this a few times after resetting the syncing settings and everytime I do the first time sync, it appears to work, but nothing appears in Address Book.
Funny is: If I change the phone number of one of the existing 6 entries, that I have in my AddressBook on computer, on the phone, the change is synchronized to the computer. But no new entries are entered on the computer.
What am I missing?

There should be an option within the phones menus somewhere.
I think its something like choose Edit on a contact and change the *Store to* option to phone

My contacta does not appear in iCloud

Before I used iCloud services, without realizing, the setting in Setting>Mail,Contacts, Calenders>ACCOUNTS was one of my email addresses (say,[email protected]), therefore ALL of my contacts do not appear in my iCloud's contact account. in this case how do I change my original contacts catagorized under "[email protected]" to "iCloud" so I can transfer them for backup in iCloud?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.
*There has got to be a simpler way.*
I hope you're right, but I don't think there is a simpler way.

Within Contacts, tap Groups at top left. Make sure all contact groups are checked to show, then tap "Done" at top right.

HT1199 my macbook address book contacts do not appear on my iPhone

I recently purchased a macbook pro. The calendar syncs well on the icloud with my iphone but the contacts do not. Not all the contacts are listed on the iphone and some of the contacts appear to be old--in fact I thought I had deleted them from my Outlook account. How do I get my contacts to update on my iphone?

Is there a fix for so the I phone shows the dates I make on the I phone?
The iphone should show dates when I make them, on the iphone, but it is not showing any appointments made with the iphone on the iphone.
The gmail has the dates, but the I phone does not have it.
I used to be able to see them both, it has been just a week or two. Do I need to relink the calenders?

Contact names not appearing in group text

When sending a group text the contact names do not appear but the phone numbers do, is there a way to change this? Phone is a Z30 STA100-5

I didn't have the problem when returning from International, but I did have the problem right after my new Verizon iphone was set up last week.
After reading some of the posts in the support forum, I first edited my contacts to include the +1 in front of the phone numbers (this may have been an unnecessary step, and it certainly was an annoying one).
Second, I used the *228 set up feature, closed the phone, contacts and text functions on the phone, then turned the phone off and back on, and it seemed to fix the problem for the most part. I think if you search the forum for *228, you will find posts that have the full sequence of steps to follow..
I have other issues with my phone, but at least this one seems cleared up for now.

Contact Name not appearing when I get an incoming ...

Yet more problems with the N97 - I've noticed over the past 3 days that when I check my call logs it says that I have rang random number(s) (no name appears) so I text the number saying "Hi who's this?" and it turned out to be a mate and my girlfriend lol!
I don't understand why it's doing this? The only thing I've done recently - is receive a song via bluetooth from my girlfriends 5800 which failed a number of times!!! (then eventually I got the song through, opened the inbox and the message went to save the song crashed when trying to save it to a memory location)... and it's saved to my phone memory (I only have 1.1Mb of free space left now... (aside from the mass memory of course ) - I don't know how to rectify this problem although I haven't tried connecting the phone to the PC (PC Suite) and couldn't find the file in the file manager...
What could this be? My dad phoned me about 10 mins ago and it came up with no name...?
I've managed to sort the internet problem with the phone sort of... is this something else the latest update has fooked up?

The ringtone issue is well known on the N97, it's down to a bug in the current and previous firmwares. It's apparently fixed in the new 2.0 firmware due for release from this weekend if the rumours are to be believed. The other problem here is that regardless of the ringtone you have specified, it'll randomly play the default Nokia tune.
Regarding the contacts problem, check if you have any contact details stored on the phone SIM. Anything there with the same number as a contact as in your other storage memories needs sorting. The same is also true if, for example, you have separate entries for people, say one for 'Mum' and one for 'Dad' as they have different mobile phone numbers, they'll shame the same 'Home' number so when that 'home' number calls you, it won't show as Mum or Dad on the display as calling, it'll just show the number if it's not network blocked.
I hope that helps explain it. Duplicates are a problem. Nothing major, just annoying.

Contacts' name not appearing when called locally while travelling !!!

When called locally abroad during travel the contact name does not appear. I have stored all my numbers in Int'l format.
Is there a fix / tool to sort out this issue?

I used to experience this. What I do now is store multiple versions of the same number, with and without the country codes. Mostly I use the country code version to dial out, while the phone uses the non-country code version to ID in-coming calls.
For example, Contact "Buddy #238" may have two phone numbers, even though he really has just the one:
78 (555) 123-1234, and
(555) 123-1234
I'd use the first to call out, but the in-coming calls may tend to show up as the second. Coming to think of it, which of the two number formats does your caller ID display when your friends call? Does any of this seem applicable at all? If you notice a different format for in-coming calls, just add that number to the existing contact(s).

Contact does not appear when texting

Although the contact does save and comes up when I call it or look it up in my contact book, it does not appear via text/imessage. Ive restored the phone and deleted and recreated the contact numerous times yet the problem persists.

Yesterday I noticed when I received a call the person's name did not appear. Well today in my favorites- no names just phone number.And in my Contacts there are quite a few missing. I did do Backup Assistant yesterday as I was prompted to do so. Never had a problem before when i ran backup assistant.
Any ideas of what I can do to fic this problem?

It sounds like some Contacts are missing after backing up your iPhone. I know it can be frustrating when data is unexpectedly lost.
If you're using iCloud contacts, you may want to log on to iCloud.com to make sure the contacts are correct there. If so, use these steps to re-sync your contacts on your iPhone:
Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on
Tap Settings > iCloud.
Turn Contacts off.
You can choose Delete from My [device] if your data exists at icloud.com/contacts and on one or more of your devices. Otherwise, choose Keep on My [device].
Wait a few minutes, then turn Contacts back on.

New iphone 4 outlook contact updates not syncing to phone since i downloaded icloud

Just purchased my first iphone after only using Androids or Blackberry, from Verizon. At the store they helped me set up itunes on my laptop to sync my Outlook Contacts and Calendar to the phone.
It seemed to be working fine until I was offered the opportunity to download iCloud. Now the calendar entries on my computer still transfer to the phone but the contacts are not transferring. When I went back to Verizon to ask...they suddenly have amnesia and told me to contact Apple.
In settings under iCloud I have Mail, Contacts, Calendars all set to "On". I can't see anything else that should be on.
Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with one of my apps. I'm just going to wait it out and I feel fairly confident that this issue will clear itself up in time on its own. If not, I'm just going to delete the app...the app is I Say Free so no big whoop.
