Contacts don't appear in Spotlight

I'm running 10.7.2, and just noticed that no Contacts appear in any Spotlight serahc. I have Contacts checked in Preferences as one of the things to be included, and I'm not excluding any directories they might be in.
I have a feeling this is somehow linked to iCloud, since my Contacts are no longer "On My mac", but appear in my Address Book as in "iCloud".
Any way to get Contacts back into Spotlight?

Got this fixed by disabling spotlight from indexing contacts then restart mac and enabling index back.

Newly added contacts don't appear in my contact list.

I recently upgraded from a iPhone 3GS to a 4S. When I add a new contact on my phone it does not appear in my contact list. If I go to a new text message and type the name it appears as a suggestion and I can select it that way. I'm unable to edit the contact as it does not appear under my contact list. I have synced in through iTunes and even restored it. The numbers still do not show up in the contact list. I've also attempted to log into iCloud and the names do not appear there either. I've turned the contacts off under the iCloud settings and nothing changed. I still cannot see my newly added contacts in my contact list. Please help as I have tried everything I know and have no luck. It alsmot feels as though my numbers are being added to a "hidden" place. Thanks in advance!

I've never done a sync with any program other than iTunes and iCloud. My groups are displayed in the left corner and they are all selected (I acutally just made up the groups today while messing with this whole issue so there aren't even contacts added to groups yet) and showing.

After downloading the latest update when I sync my phone my contacts don't appear, help!

After downloading the latest software update I connected my iPhone and afterwards found everything but my contacts transfered over so I don't have my contacts on my phone where I need them! Can anyone help?

It's a problem with Gmail. There is another thread discussing it, but most would rather whine than try to fix it.
Nobody has figured out what is causing it, but there have been various suggestions.
One was to display the All Mail folder if you've hidden it.
You can delete by opt- delete. I think that will delete it immediately.
Another person looked in the user/Library/Mail/V2/ folder. He had duplicate account folders, having a sequence digit suffix. He deleted the duplicates and it fixed things.

Password protecting mail app and permanent deletion of emails so they don't appear in spotlight search

I realise that there is a temporary way to prevent this happening by unticking the 'mail' option in the spotlight search settings menu, but how do you permanently delete the emails? I assumed that when I hit delete then emptied the trash box, the mails were gone for good. But finding that they remain stored in some hidden place and can be easily accessed is very annoying! In fact, finding that other users can quickly change the settings back and have free access to my email is rather disturbing anyway, especially as there is no way to password protect my email account once i activate the mail app. the apple mail app is linked to my yahoo account, but within yahoo mail there seems to be no problem in regards to deleted mail being stored somewhere else, only within the apple app system.
So i guess id like to know, is there some way to password protect my account or do I just need to keep deleting my account before lending the ipad to someone else and then reinstating it? And is there any way to properly delete emails for good?
I would be happy just to go without the mail app and log in directly through yahoo in Safari, except that I find the notification alert when I receive a new mail very handy!!

[edit] I dragged the email I sent through the MBP Mail app (under MAILBOXES > Sent > Yahoo!) to the highlighted Sent folder (YAHOO! > Sent), and now it shows up on all Yahoo Sent folders (iPad app, web browser, phone app). Not entirely solved the issue but will use web browser to sent future emails to keep everything in sync.

Facebook Contacts Don't Appear and No Option to Connect Facebook Account

So OK I added Skype to my new android tablet. Well it won't allow me to add Facebook friends. I do have a dual camera to talk to people. So if u have suggestions please feel free to post. Thanks for your time

Address Book ulContacts don't appear in iTunes

I just went to sync my original iPhone via iTunes and just discovered that my address book contacts don't appear in iTunes. My address book is fine and all of my groups appear. Anyone have any helpful hints to get them to reappear?

I have a similar issue. There are hundreds of podcasts on my Ipod Touch that I would like to delete. However, they don't show up on the computer. 2 questions:
1. You say to delete them from the Ipod. Please explain how. If they have to be deleted individually it will proabably take a lot of time.
2. Why does this happen? How can I prevent this from happening again?
Sure wish Apple would give us more help with this.

.m4r files sync but don't appear AND outlook contacts won't add to iphone?

hi guys,
This is my first post, made just a day after I got my iphone.
Now don't get me wrong, i love the iphone, but i'm worried i might have to send it back due to 2 glitches:
1) I exported all my contacts onto my computer from my old k800i, then imported them into contacts on outlook. Then I synced my iphone to outlook through itunes and it appears to be doing something on the itunes bar only for me to open my phone when it's done and the contact list is empty. It's synced the calender and itunes music thought.
2) I sent some ringtones to my friend who has a mac (I have a PC) and he changed them to .m4r files on that garage program on the mac, then he sent them back, i dragged them into the ringtone folder and they appeared. I went on itunes and they appear in the iphone tone menu, i sync with the actual phone and after saying it's done they don't appear in the tone menu on the phone.
That's 2 annoying things, do I need to send it back?
Any help would be great, thanks for your time.

Please follow the steps below to make sure the reminders have been enabled in Outlook:
On the File tab, click Options.
Select Advanced in the Outlook Options dialog box.
In the Reminders section, select Show reminders.
Click OK.

When i enter a new contact on my iPhone 4s ios6 they don't appear in my contacts on my Mac but they appear on my iPhone when i enter them on my Mac

IF you're signed into the same iCloud accoun on Mac/iPhone and it's only syncing "one-way" here's what I'd do.
Probably start with the Mac:
System Preferences->iCloud & Delete the account and everything that is syncing with it from your Mac.
THEN go back into iCloud settings and re-add your account in. That should do it. If it doesn't: push it up a notch and remove the account from BOTH your iPhone & Mac. Then re-add one at a time probably starting with the Mac.

I recommend to check www.icloud.com, are your contacts shown there?
If not -> Something might be not set up correctly on you iOS devices.
Also.. Simple but maybe occuring: Contacts -> Preferences -> Accounts -> iCloud is enabled? (Should be by default if you have iCloud setup via the system preferences, but you never know..)

You cannot uninstall the update. Apple does not support downgrading. What troubleshooting have you done? Start with a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. Are you syncing contacts with iCloud?

New contacts in iPad don't appear in Mac Address Book

My boss has an iPad. He updated to iOS 4.2.1 and iTunes 10.1 (under OS X 10.5.8 on a PowerMac G5). Now when he adds a contact in the iPad's Contacts app, the new contact doesn't appear in the Address Book on his Mac after syncing. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

but this is not an iCloud issue even though that's why I started to manually key in contacts.
It's an issue of Messenger contacts not showing up under Contacts...
