I try to import my gmail contact from my computer but it doesn't work...
I synchronize my email acount I receive all my email but I have any contact from my box in my contact book!!!

You mean you DO NOT have any contacts in your contact book?
How long has it been since you setup this gmail account?
In the Gmail account setup, did you turn ON the contacts sync?
In your Z10 Contacts app, do you see the tab below "all" for that gmail account?

I used the rebuild function on my iPhoto library, and tried using Faces in Contacts to update my contacts' photos.
there is a ! symbol in Contacts in the left section for All Facebook and All Gmail contacts.
if i click on the ! a popup window says the operation couldnt be completed, (CoreDAVHTTPStatusErrorDomain error 403.)

Contacts birthday sync issue between iphone- gmail

Hi, i have an Exchange Account with my gmail (ContactMailCalendar).
since i have OS4, i noticed a strange thing. when i add/edit a birthday field on my Contacts (gmail contacts on my iphone), it doesn't update the birthday field correctly .for example, if I put the birthday of October 27, 1987 for a contact on my iphone, it will sync to my Gmail contact as October 26, 1987 - a day before. i chacked Time Zone and didnt find any problem... please check it out...

I have the very same issue: Iphone 3GS, iOS4 & birthday in my Gmail always equals previous day as I entered on my iPhone. Please look into this issue & provide a solution.

Gmail contact group

I would like to use the part of gmail contacts (gmail contacts group) in my iPhone. The contacts should be synced.
As far as i understand, this is not possible without apps like Smart Contacts Sync for Google Account.
Has anyone successfully tried? I would appreciate post from people who have tried and it worked.

It was possible to select contacts for syncing In the older iTunes version, I read about it, but have not tried with older versions.
Now, version 11 it is not possile any more. I am suprised noone had those problems.

I've been asking everyone I can think and no one seems to know the answer - very frustrating but my god, it's only a gmail account - why can't i send mail from the laptop? someone told me I would have to pay $90 for an application that's missing on my macbook air, I say gmail is free, why do I have to pay for it and they hang up on me - guy at apple store doesn't know what the problem is, it guys at work are being snobby about the type of phone i have - i only want to send mail from my gmail account and i am unable to do so from the laptop - i don't know why i'm bothering to put this here because no one has an answer

Gmail Password Reset

I'm hoping someone can help!
Until today, I was receiving and sending emails on my BlackBerry just fine. This morning, I thought it was a good time to change my gmail password, and did so on my laptop. Then noticed I wasn't getting my emails and realized I hadn't changed it on my BB (duh). When I went into Email Settings and re-entered the new password, it told me that my password is incorrect and if the problem persists to contact gmail.com.
I contacted my service provider for tech support (should'a known better!) and they supposedly deleted my email account from my device so that I could reassign my email address onto my phone using the updated password. According to them, this should have reset everything and allowed me to start fresh. No such luck, still doesn't work.

tannd, i figured it out. from the home screen, click on setup, then emal settings. use the blackberry logo key (left click?). If validate is an option, choose it and enter your new password. If you don't need validation, select edit and input your new password. voila! i'm a total tech nepophite, so am totally psyched that i figured this out good luck!

"connection refused" when accessing gmail pop server

I am having a problem connecting to gmail. I get a "connection refused" error when I try to download or upload mail. This problem started last Saturday Aug, 22nd, give or take a day. As for trouble shooting, here's what info I can share. I am connected to the internet because I can browse websites. I was able to access my mail on the gmail website, using the browser interface. On the website, I was able to read new mail that had been sent to me since the problem started, so there's no problem with the account itself. I have made no recent changes to my e-mail client settings and I tried another email client and had the same type of error message come up. POP is enabled in Gmail. I can not run the telnet test provided on gmail because it appears to be only available to PC users. However, I took my iBook down to the local pub, connected to the internet on wifi, and had no problem. My email client performed its normal functions as usual. At this point I gather the problem has something to do with my ISP specifically not being able to see gmail's server, or vice versa. Should I contact gmail to ask them if there is something they can check? If I have to resolve this through my ISP, what should I tell them to look for? Are there any setting in the System Preference Networking Control Panel I should be checking, such as proxies, ethernet, TCP/IP, etc? Thanks

I have found that I can use "terminal" on my Mac to run a telnet command on gmail's server addresses. It says "connection refused". Pretty much the same thing my e-mail client said. So I am still working under the assumption that the problem has something to do with my ISP specifically not being able to see gmail's servers, or vice versa. But which is more likely? If the problem is with my ISP, should I simply ask them to change my IP address (or their IP address)? This is an area that I am not very familiar with. And there is an added complication that I may not be able to contact the ISP directly. I will have to speak to the landlord, and it will probably be a situation where I will have to tell the landlord what to say to the ISP. So I'm looking for the layman's nutshell way to convey the info to the landlord so that it does not get lost in the translation to the ISP.
And another point. I am being told that other users on my landlord's network are not having problems with gmail. Is there a way for ME to force the IP address on MY computer to change? Or is that not really the issue? Thanks

I use Gmail but I'm more familiar with Outlook format. If I use Outlook it moves my messages to the C drive. I need to access all messages from other computers.

--I have problems with the way G-mail works for typing messages. I am accustomed to using Outlook at work and when I type in G-mail, sometimes the message is sent before I finish due to me using the enter and tab buttons.
--I tried using Outlook and configuring G-mail to automatically move messages to Outlook but when I do this, all messages I open are stored on the " C " drive of the computer I am using.
--Since I work offshore 28 days at a time and use at least 3 different computers to access my email account, I need a way to use Outlook but still save all messages on the net so I can access any and all messages from any of the computers I use at work and at home.

hello Jim, this is a subject where we in firefox support cannot provide particular help. it's not a problem related to firefox and out of the scope of this forum. just as a general pointer: if you want your emails to be accessible in outlook and on webmail as well, you'll want to set up your account as IMAP-account, for more details and further help please contact gmail's support at https://support.google.com/mail.

Ichat does not show any contact AIM

Hello, I am Spanish and I use the google translator.
Well, I have an AIM account that works fine with Adium, but iChat does not. I have iChat 5.0.3 in Leopard.
The problem is that I see no single contact in iChat, Adium since I see Facebook, Gmail, IM, etc. I appear not as if they were disconnected.
Com.apple.ichat.AIM I deleted the file (I called so) and I have port 443. I really do not know what to do, thanks.
PD: I prefere iChat because iChat works with webcam.

A few hours ago I have heard that AIM is not in session nécessité to start Adium. But what I've done is add and remove Adium AIM Facebook and Gmail chat, which was added. Now I'm in them, do not see any contacts in the same groups appear in iChat. I think it's a configuration problem on AIM, iChat or Adium not.
If I use AIM Express, which is the next chat on AIM's website, I can start session, I see groups appear in iChat and Adium, and Facebook contacts, Gmail Messenger i preconfigured. But if I open iChat or Adium since I only see the groups, without contacts. I send you pictures of my setup iChat 5.0.3 (Spanish).
I have AIM installed in my Mac, and works successfully with contacts.
I have another question: if iChat works with AIM, can I do videocalls with Google accounts and Messenger?

Syncing Question: Is it safe to sync email contacts on iPhone?

Hi guys,
I have just bought an iPhone which I intend to use for both work and personal stuff. I am wondering when I sync my mail accounts with iPhone, will I be actually exposing my personal email, phone number or any type of personal info to my work email contacts?
I have synced Facebook contacts to iPhone and saw that some friends have whole lots of contact info exposed. That is why before I synced my work email contacts, can anyone explain if our personal things on our iPhone will be exposed to the synced email contacts we have on the same iPhone?
For example: Can work email contacts (Gmail or Yahoo) see my personal Facebook profile photo since it is saved in my own contact list?
Can work email contacts see my phone number when I reply from the iPhone?
Basically any answers related to syncing safety will be much appreciated.

Thanks, modular747. Sure, but isn't there only one "sync" button that will then sync everything, and isn't iTunes the only place to control what is synced?
I suppose one way to fix this would be to sync my calendars and contacts using iCloud. This would also mean that my iPad was kept in sync more regularly. But I use Google Calendar as a Calendar app and sync this to iCal via BusySync, and am yet to find a way that I can get this (and my Google contacts, which sync with my Address Book) to play nicely.
If there's some way I can use iCloud to sync my calendars and contacts between Mac, iPhone and iPad, while maintain the synchronisation I've currently got running between iCal, Address Book and Google, I'd love to hear it

Gmail Folders Showing up empty on Pre

My Gmail has been performing fine then yesterday evening when I went to my Gmail inbox it turned up empty all the other folders seemed to perform normally. I still get notifications of new emails and when I press on those emails they seem to show up fine. When I use the back gesture I return to the blank folder. It is also worth noting that if I have unread messages the number does show up in the top right corner. The only thing missing really is the list of emails.
I have tried refreshing several times, removing the account and readding, and rebooting my Pre. Everything else about the device seems normal. After I readded my account the issue has spread to my All Mail folder too.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have a friend with a Pre and his Gmail is working fine.

I have been experiencing the same phenomenom whereby my pre will only show me the first 5 messages of my GMAIL IMAP inbox. i can scroll up and see divider lines but cannot see any messages... and before anyone asks if i have tried things let me just say that i have been on the phone with Palm for well over 7 hours over the course of 3 days and 3 tiers. I have called sprint, i have posted on most websites. Palm's answer to me was to either get a new Pre (which of course i cannot because of the sprint 30 day return policy and palm's blaming of Gmail) or to contact Gmail support !!!! WHICH THERE IS NONE !!!!! what am i supposed to do? i cannot just up and change m email address. i have had this email for ever and it is a great email address! Palm, Please please please please, this is an issue with many people!!! contact your friends over there at gmail quickly... and i mean really quickly! or you will have lost a 10+year customer.

This phone is too beautiful to use as a furniture wedge, however my couch is off balance, and i cannot get my email.... so i might have to make an exception.

Gmail with Apple Mail problem: inbox label in the trash folder

I am using Gmail with IMAP In Apple Mail (3.6), after I deleted a mail from inbox, it correctly move the mail to Trash.
However, when I check it in the Trash folder in my web Gmail, there is a inbox label appear on every mail that I deleted from Apple Mail. Does anyone know how to deal with this issue?

Gmail freezing... slow script error

When I tried to log into my gmail around 7am this morning (1/7) my screen froze, I rec'd an error msg saying there was a slow scrip, it gave me the option to hit stop or continue. After attempting both, I ended up force quitting since neither options worked & my gmail was frozen. After emptying my cache, resetting Safari, deleting my history and restarting, my gmail account is still freezing. I'm not sure what else to do. Is anyone experiencing this?
I have a MacBook pro, snow leopard 10.6.2 operating system, Safari 4.0.4.

I am having the same problem and it seems from everyone that has posted on here I have been having the problem the longest (since Tuesday 1-5-10).
I can still access my email using my iPhone, but have had to force quit Safari everytime I have tried to log into my personal gmail account using my computer. I also have a school email account that is run by gmail and have had no trouble logging into that account. Interestingly enough this email account does not have chat capabilities, I believe because it is a school email account it has never had the option.
I believe that this problem is an issue on random gmail accounts, and am not sure if it is just Mac/Safari users, or if this problem could be happening to some PC users also. Has anyone happened to search any forums for anything other than just Mac/Safari users? I plan on looking into that next.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Also, has anyone tried to contact gmail and received any response?

I up loaded the new Yosemite OS X and now I can't send out messages on my gmail account? It states I no longer have smtp server?

I updated to the OS X 10 Yosemite and now I am no longer able to send out gmail messages. I can receive but unable to send. An error comes up prompting me to out going smtp server needs attention???? Contacted gmail...they state it is not their issue. Any help would be appreciated.
