Contacts - is there an edit/delete function to remove Groups in my Contact Book (IPad2)

I have some 'empty' Groups in my contact book and can't seem to find a way to delete them.
There is no edit/delete function I can find on the IPad2 to do this?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Hmmmm...maybe try deleting them again (I know it's a pain) and then doing a manual icloud backup (unless you already did this). Icloud may be putting them back on there. I never allowed FB to put the contacts on my phone lol. Also try going into Privacy and Contacts...make sure FB isn't on in there. Might be a few other spots to check under settings to make sure too. And...you might want to try deleting the FB app, do a icloud backup, and then reinstall FB

Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), and release. If that doesn't work, connect to iTunes, go to the Summary tab and Restore.

Great question! You can disable your Facebook contacts from syncing with your Contacts application in the following location:

ADF data table with Add,Edit,Delete functionality

Hi Experts,
I have a adf page where I need to implement add,edit,delete button. The table was bind with the Webservice obj call.I need to have one single button as "Add" which should add an inline row at end of the table.When I ll double click on the row I should have the in-line edit of the row.And for delete functionality,there should be delete button on each row which should delete the correspond row.Please help me to solve my problem.Please share the code to meif u ve any.my email: [email protected]

What will happen to my iPhone contacts if I choose to "Delete from my iPhone" the previously synced contacts from the iCloud?

When I updated my iPhone 3GS to i06, my contacts were messed up. Some of my contacts were lost, and one of my contacts which I had two numbers for, a new one and an old number, now only has one number and it is the old one. So, will I get my original contacts back if I choose the "Delete from my iPhone" choice?

Regarding the first question:
- The contacts on my iPhone right now, due to the connection with iCloud, are numbers that came from the iCloud account (which, unfortunately is my husband's account - I didn't realize it). Although we have some of the same people on our contacts, his, of course, contains his business contacts as well. Before the connection, my contacts were my social contacts and my business contacts. It looks like that not all my contacts from before the iCloud connection are there as some are missing and all of them have missing punctuation marks. All my photos that were on the contacts of the people are missing as well.
- I will have to check and see if my contacts are on the iCloud account also. Haven't checked that yet.
By the way, this all happened when I loaded the i06 update. That's when it asked me if I wanted to store it on iCloud. And when I clicked on it, everything changed on my contacts.

Create Edit Delete in Oops ALV

Hi Experts,
I need to create an ALV which will provide all the functionality of Create, Edit, Save and Delete records and update the Custom table accordingly.
I want to design it as follows -
1. Display should be in non-ediatble mode initially (because I don't want to make it completely ediatble at all times)
2. When the user clicks Create button a new line appends at the bottom and the ALV has to be made editable, for the values to be entered at the new row appended.
3. When the user presses Save, again the ALV goes into non-ediatble mode.
4. When the user presses Edit Button, the ALV is open for editing and again the whole ALV is editable. After Editing, the user will select those particular lines through Box Button and Press on Save Button to enable those particular lines to be modified and saved in ALV. Again at the press of Save button, the ALV will switch to Non-modifiable view.
5. For Deletion, select the particular line/lines through Box Button and Click on Delete.
This is how I plan to achieve the Create, Edit, Delete Functionality.
Can you please confirm the feasibilty of this Design, whether it is achievable.
There is some option of dynamically changing the Field Catalogue. If it is there, I'm thinking of utilising it for switching the modes on click of Create, Edit and Save Buttons. Click/Edit --> Modifiable. Save --> Non-modifiable.
Please do give your comments on the above functionality and feasibility. If you are knowing a different or easy approach please do share it. If you have done it then please do share it.

Full vs Read/Edit/Delete

Could anyone explain the difference between full and read/edit delete access profiles??Both sound to be the same..What is the functional differnce between them?

Full access gives you an additional Create access. What Abhay has said is correct only for the 3rd scenario that I have explained below. Let me take different scenarios. Lets work on the Owner Access Profile.
Scenario 1:
1. In the Step 2 of the wizard, set Account Access to "Read/Edit" or "Read/Edit/Delete"
2. In the Step 2 of the wizard, set Contact Access to "Read Only"
3. In Related Information of Account, set the Contact access to "Full".
In this case, Full means Read Only+Create access to the child records of the Account which you own.
Scenario 2:
1. In the Step 2 of the wizard, set Account Access to "Read/Edit" or "Read/Edit/Delete"
2. In the Step 2 of the wizard, set Contact Access to "Read/Edit"
3. In Related Information of Account, set the Contact access to "Full".

Address Book Notes for New Contacts Appear Only In Edit Mode

When I create a new contact in +Address Book+, exit Edit mode, and then add a Note to that new contact, the note is visible only when the contact is switched to Edit mode. This does not effect existing contacts. This problem first appeared yesterday. I didn't do anything unusual with +Address Book+ before the emergence of the problem.
I followed these instructions to rebuild the +Address Book+ database but it had no effect on this problem: "Quit Address Book and drag ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook-v22.abcddb to the desktop. It will be rebuilt from the details in Metadata when you restart AB."

I exported the contact list and deleted Library/Application support/Address book and then re-imported. Everything is fine now.

The iPhone remembers information about previous contacts.
Complelely independently, you have a Contacts app with a contacts list. It sounds like your contacts list has 3 names on it. You need to add a few names.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud/ or whatever email account you have (I used iCloud) > Turn on Contacts and Calendars (don't worry if it merges) > TADA. It should work (well, it worked for me anyways). Once you got it working, you can go back and de-toggle Contacts and Calendars.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You can only restore them from a Computer backup. This has occurred because you are sharing an iCloud account. ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.

How do I delete a card out of my contact list that was dropped in by Facebook (I assume). It won't let me delete it in -edit -delete card. It has Facebook logo on the card. I have the contact in my contact list that entered. This one appeared.

leave the phone in rice for >24 hours to see if it will recover
you can check itunes as well to see if there are backups there from the top of the screen hit edit (itunes on mac) > preferences > devices , and see if a backup is listed
also check icloud.com to see if you had any of the information backed up there (only possible if have have a 3gs or higher)
also there are data recovery companies that can recover data even from wrecked hard drives but its not cheap, if your interested in that I would say lookup a company called drivesavers, I believe they are authorized to work on even in warranty iphones

For example: SusanX has quit her job and I still have her employment email address and phone number. All her other information is the same but I want to delete the information no long viable. When I go into edit mode the information is grayed out and is not deletable. I went to my iCloud and tried to delete it there, no luck.
I am thinking I might just have to delete the entire contact card and just start from scratch with only her current information. Seems like there should be a way to delete only parts of the information rather that resort to start a new contact card.
