Contacts - locking it so other apps can't access it?

Hello,
Is there a way (without jailbreaking) to lock the iPhone Contacts so other apps can't access it. My concern are apps like the Facebook app, which will take and upload the Contacts after first use. I want to restrict any kind of access to my Contracts to MobileMe and iCloud syncing, and not have any other app access my contacts.

Thanks, I saw what you both wrote, did some more researching on iphone enterprise topics and found the following website: http://www.apple.com/iphone/business/integration/#security which claims "Apps are also “sandboxed” so they cannot access data stored by other applications." It doesn't seem like Contacts is really sandboxed/protected from other apps, so I'm finding that a secure Contacts app is the way to go. Thanks again.

Garageband is not picking sound from builtin mic (rMBP). I recorded some tracks, now it is not working. All other apps can use the mic. Monitoring is switched ON at GB, it picks sound only some other app, eg. Skype, is used to access the mic.

All other apps can use the mic. Dictation, Skype etc. can use the mic!

I have foud the solution - rather stupid. The system setting for audio input was at 70%, increasing it to 100% solves the problem!

I automatically updated iPhoto to 6.0.6 (322) and now get this message when trying to print a picture:
"No pages from the document were selected to be printed."
I copied the message from the opened tab. All other apps can print.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Did you run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions after the iPhoto update? If no give it a go now. Also turn off photo sharing if you have it turned on in the iPhoto's prefs (longshot).

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Hi user 1724, before icloud, we had the same issue....
so yes, the solution was to each log into the mac separately.
i kept the main itunes library and apple id, and my son made his own itunes library (which linked to the main itunes/apple id) - so we were able to maintain separate contacts lists.
but then w/ the cloud i guess we assumed the cloud would know we each have different contact lists on diff. phones, but it seems the cloud just lumped it all together -

I have managed to resolve it. What I found is I typed in a wrong password when one app loaded. That app gave a misleading network connectivity error. Other apps are connecting fine now.

You can't delete it. Look on all your screens and inside all your folders. If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.

I've updated os x 10.7.4 now my sonos app can't access iTunes library

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the device from the computer to which the device is synced. For information and instructions, see:

Other user can't access to OBIEE 11G installed on a server

We have installed OBIEE 11G on a server ( windows sever 2008 r2) with admin account, and it works fine, But others users can't access to obiee 11g ( administration icons are white in their sessions) even they have admin rights.
Can anyone tell me what should we do??

This is the exact format how my tnsnames.ora file looks. sorry, I can ping it in command prompt now. In my connection pool i tried first DSN = ab.bc.xy.zx, did not work. Then I saw oracle's default repository and changed my DSN to your suggested format starting from "DESCRPTION" to rest. Still no luck Do you think, i should put the same TNS in my local machine??

Cannot Print in Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 (XP Pro SP3), but Other Apps Can

I am unable to print PDFs on my workstation unless I drag them from a Windows Explorer session and drop them on an open printer window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window). I have Acrobat 9 Professional (ver. 9.4.2) running under Windows XP Pro (SP3). I cannot print a PDF from within Acrobat or from within a browser window. I have done a "repair install" on Acrobat and rebooted. When I try to print from within Acrobat or a browser window, I do not receive any form of error message. There is no indication of any problem. If I have the printer window open window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window) and I try to print from Acrobat or a browser, I never see anything appear in the window, even briefly. If I drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it in the printer window, the document name appears briefly in the window and the document prints.
I have double checked my printer settings from within Acrobat to make sure that it is not "printing to file." The correct printer *is* selected.
I've tried printing to different printers in the office. I've even tried printing to the "virtual printer" which is a front-end to our fax server. No dice. If I monitor the printers folder (which lists every printer that my workstation can print to currently), the "documents" column (which shows the number of documents in the queue to be printed) never changes from zero.
The fact that I can drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it on a printer and get it to print really puzzles me, since I thought that this was only possible if either Acrobat Pro (or other paid version) or Acrobat Reader was installed. That is, I thought that Windows XP cannot print a PDF unless some sort of PDF reader (Acrobat, Nitro, etc.) is installed. Then again, I may be mistaken. *IF* indeed Windows XP doesn't know how to print a PDF without help from a PDF reader of some sort (Acrobat Reader, Nitro, etc.), then how is it that I can drag, drop and print, but I can't print from within Acrobat Pro itself? Meanwhile, all other apps print just fine to any given printer.
FYI... this question has languished for two weeks with no solution at experts-exchange.com. I've never stumped them before. I've never waited more than 24 hours for an answer there before, and usually a solution takes just an hour or two. This suggests to me that my situation is quite rare. Can anyone get me on track?

Lock screen and other app stuck on zoomed mode

I noticed that my lock screen is stuck on zoomed mode. When I'm in my home screen it's in standard view. Also I'm having the same issue with my apps. Apps like Pinterest, Tumblr, Swarm, Twitter looks fine but other apps like Facebook and Instagram are all stuck on zoomed mode. How do i fix this?

Remote iPad App: can't access AppleTV, purchased music won't clear

I can't access AppleTV screen. My "purchased music" pops up on the iPad screen and I can't clear it to access the AppleTV menu using the Remote app.

Did you already restart/ reboot your Wi-Fi router?
Also execute "Forget this Network" on your iPad.
Once your router has restarted, try to connect again.
