Do you have a backup that contained the contacts? If so restore your phone from that backup. Read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

then contact lost on iPhone
& cannot restore contact from last backup that appear on iTunes-files!: it is grayed (not pickabble!)
this is scary ! not ipressed by mac for once!
help please!Well Hello,
maybe 3GS as your question indicates that only S update should work, and it works, but now only my name appear in contact! wao! -
Sync between MacBookPro and iPhone 3G does not sync properly. Calendars duplicate events but worse is that only contacts from Address book from letter T onwards sync. Any contacts on iPhone which are not on Mac are lost during sync.
Solutions? No, I never really found an easy solution. I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device. In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs. A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup. It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad. But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost. When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might. If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it. I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by. -
All contacts lost for no reason on iPhone 4S. How do I get them back?
I have lost my contacts on my iPhone 4S. I was in my home using it for a game, when I went to make a call and realized all of my favorites didn't have names, only listed them by their numbers. I went into all my contacts and nothing was listed. I have my phone backed up. However I'd rather not just fix the issue but also know why this happened. Thank you in advance.
This might be because that your game update or other software automatic update killed your contacts. You should make a frequency and regular backup for your iPhone so that all the data could be renewed to your backup data. Whenever you lost iPhone data, you have a choice to restore from iTunes. That is easy and free.
However, this is not the end of the world if you don't have any backup of your iPhone contacts, you can recover contacts with iPhone data recovery software, but that need you to pay for it. So making a backup is a good habit. Do you know how to use iPhone data recovery software to recover iPhone contacts without backup? If not, you can search in YouTube to get step-by-step guide to recover iPhone contacts from iPhone without backup. This is such an example: How to Recover iPhone Contacts - Step-by-step Guide. -

I lost all my contacts in iphone 4s
I lost all my contacts in iphone 4s, how do i get them back ?
If you didn't back up your phone before upgrading and you use iCloud, all your Contacts should be in iCloud. You should be able to sign in to your iCloud account and your Contacts from iCloud should populate to your iPhone.

Lost some contacts in Iphone 4
I lost some of the contacts in Iphone 4. I'm sure i haven't deleted anything, but i just can't find them. Any idea what could that be?
Depends on the type of contacts- if they are gmail or yahoo contacts make sure you haven't deleted your email account or changed your password because it is possible that these may no longer sync.
The same can be said if they are Facebook contacts.
Do you have iCloud turned on? Or recently turned off? -
I have lost some of my contacts on IPhone 4S
I have lost some my contact on IPhone 4s without restart or after install programme.
If you did not set up the phone to sync with an address book app on your computer or with the address book app in iCloud then they are gone forever. If you DID sync with one of those they should come back the next time you sync.

IPhone contact lost how can I get back
iPhone contact lost how can I get them back without mobile me account
Hi KoAungChaint,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you have lost a contact from your iPhone and would like to recover it. I know you say you do not have a MobileMe account so I assume you don’t have an iCloud account because MobileMe is no longer in service. If you do have a backup in iTunes on your computer, you could restore your iPhone from that backup and recover any data, including contacts, from that backup. You can use the following article as a reference if you would like to restore from an iTunes backup on your computer.
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

Restore from a backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your device to resolve an issue, follow these steps:
Connect your iOS device to the computer that has your backup.
Make sure this computer has the latest version of iTunes.
Choose File > Devices > Restore from Back up.
If you're using iTunes 10.7 or earlier, right-click the device from the list and choose Restore from Backup.
Thanks for reaching out,

Hello there.
Got following situation:
iPhone A - iTunes Store (Apple-ID) account = [email protected] / iCloud account = [email protected]
iPhone B - iTunes Store (Apple-ID) account = [email protected] / iCloud account = [email protected]
Somehow all contacts in iPhone B disappeared and appeared on iPhone A (together with the ones already existing).
My questions:
what's the cause of this?
how do I get back (iPhone A with only its original contacts, iPhone B with the "disappeared" contacts)?
After I will have put everything back as it was a couple of days ago, I'd change the iCloud email for iPhone A, so that it doesn't match the Apple-ID anymore: do you think this might help?
Thanks and regards,
Flavio.Hi there.
Thanks for your reply. Somehow after logging into the iCloud account of "iPhone B", the contacts reappered on the iPhone B itself!!! Weird!
Now, I'd still like to do the change for "iPhone A" and move the iCloud login/account away from the Apple-ID: is this achieved by simply disabling iCloud sync and re-enabling it with a different email address? What about the "old" data which would remain on iCloud? Any way to do a "clean" migration here?
Thanks and regards,

All contacts "lost" on iPhone 3GS
Hi,
For some reason all my contacts on iPhone have disappeared. I have push enabled. I have tried synching from itunes Info Advanced "Replace information on this iPhone" with Contact list ticked. All the contacts are still on my laptop in Address Book Any ideas what I should try please? Thanks RickIf you have a MobileMe account and are syncing contacts over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, DO NOT select to sync contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.
If you are unable to follow directions or prefer adding to the directions provided, I'll be done here and with you in a hurry.
Deselect sync contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Select Apply. DO NOT select this again.
Try deleting and recreating your MobileMe account on your iPhone.
If no change after this, restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup. You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup first, but since email account information and contacts are included with your iPhone and there is a problem with this on your iPhone, restoring from the backup will also restore any problem included with the backup. -
ICloud doesn't Sync, lost all contacts on iPhone
I have a PC, iPhone and iPad on which contacts, reminders and calendar are turned on in iCloud.
Everything used to work fine.
I missed a meeting on Thursday because it did not snych into me iPhone.
I noticed contact changes were not synching.
I turned of Contact Synching on the iPhone, selected keep contact on iPhone.
All contacts were erased on the iPhone.
Turned synch back on and nothing downloads to the iPhone
I checked iCloud on the web and the contacts are there.
Thoughts anyone?Update: Powered iPhone off, back on and the contacts reappeared. Still not synching.

Last thursday my ihone 4 froze all of a sudden (i could not do anything, not even switch it off) for a good 10 min. It was as if it was downloading sthing on its own. When it stopped, ALL my contacts were gone. Everything else was still there, pics, mails, music..etc. Not one single contact left.
When i got back home i synced it right away to itunes, hoping it would restore all the backed up contacts but it did not. Was that THE mistake i should not have made??!! Did syncing the contact-less iphone erase all the backep up contacts from itunes??
I then tried to restore from a back up but itunes will only offer me the back up of my very last sync, (tried that and of course still 0 contact left) or some really old back up from 2011!!!
I do not understand anything, i was syncing my iphone on a very regular basis, totally convinced that was enough to back up anything new onto my computer, and feeling safe that no matter what happened everything was there. Why is itunes not offering my any backup from say a few weeks ago??
I am one of these people who are not really good with computers, i have asked many people around me for some help already and noone understands what happened or is able to help me in any way.STEP 1: Go settings --> Icloud --> Turn Off the contacts button if it is green --> Chose keep on IPhone.
STEP 2: Go Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars --> Slide down to contacts --> Default Account -- > chose on my Iphone.
This is how you can prevent such incidents in the future.
The only Risk is that you need to back up your phone continuously on your Desktop or Laptop so that in case you lose your phone, you can restore your info to another phone from your back up.
You can also back up your << Back up FIle >> from your Desktop or Laptop on an external USB. ( more secure also):
Back up the Back up file:
Windows XP stores all of your iPhone backup files in this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 back up the iPhone files here:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Hope that helped!

My iTunes won't sync all my songs with my iPod
I'm using auto sync, just like I always have, and the box is checked to sync all songs with the iPod. If you check the bar at the bottom of the sync page, it *thinks* all 5000+ songs are on the iPod, and there's plenty of room left. But when you play
