Contacts lost with sync

please help. i did a hard reset. now the palm desktop has my contacts and calendar. i'm trying to get them back to my treo by sync-ing. but they won't come back to my handheld! arrgh! does anyone know how to get the contacts back after a hard reset?
in addition, here in the philippines text messaging is used very frequently. but with treo 680 the text messages i get is truncated - it can't seem to receive long messages. funny because i did not have this problem in the beginning.can anyone share how this can be resolved?

Did you sync your treo to your existing user name? That should bring back all the info that was on your device before you did the hard reset.
Click on the hot sync icon on your device and you will see your user name displayed on the top-right corner. Does this user name match to the user name you had before you did the hard reset?

when i run a report and try to close it, by doing file--close--exit
i'm getting an error "contact lost with server".

i'm getting an error "contact lost with server"The problem might exists when your server lost the connection so it would say you to again login.Are you using VPN to connect to your client machine for accessing discoverer plus if so it happens with VPN.
Another thing is in discoverer plus if you leave it inactive for longer time without actually working on it and just opened it and minimized the window,then as it is in inactive state the server contact would be lost.

Need help restoring AddressBook contacts (lost on sync with iphone)

Hi,
Just got a new iPhone 3GS, and have .mac. I had duplicate contacts in my iphone. To fix the problem, I deleted one of each, then synced my phone. I got the warning that 5% or more contacts would change, and continued (50% should change, based on my assumptions). I lost all my contacts. I tried to restore in iTunes using "Restore from backup" but only some of the contacts came back. Is there any way to recover the rest of the lost data?

All contacts lost after Syncing with Outlook (Windows)

Hi folks,
i had sorted out all of my wifes contacts on her iPhone. You know, all had proper phone numbers, street adresses, e-mail adresses and so on.
Than i wanted to sync them to my Outlook, but i didn't want some old Outlook contacts to get on the phone, so i removed all Outlook contacts from the contacts folder (made a backup, clever me).
Then i set the iPhone to sync contacts with outlook. iTunes asked if it's allright if more than 5% of my PC contacts are beeing changed, i clicked "Yes", figured the contacts on the phone are whats interesting to me, nevermind the contacts on the pc.
So here's what itunes did:
It copied two new contacts from the iphone which previously haven't been on the pc, to the pc and deleted all the rest from the iphone (except the two new).
Since the iPhone was my only source of the new and improved contacts, all my work that i have put in there (better part of three hours) is gone.
I am not sure if i should shout, scream or just enter it all again with dignity...
Is there any way to restore the contacts? Or to prevent something like this from happening again?

Yep me too. Installed 10.2 onto my Windows 7 PC. Had no issues sycning with Windows Contacts previously, now I can't get them onto my iPhone 4 at all. Tried all the suggestion from Apple Support, still nothing.
Very unimpressed.

TS4036 all contacts lost after sync with icloud

I activated the icloud using my iphone 4s. Suddenly all of my 1000s of contacts were gone. I hope they would still be there on my desktop (till recent sync). There were probably no contacts in my icloud and it wiped those on my cell. This should have been merge and icloud should have updated. Now should I turn off icloud and just sync my iphone.

Contact applecare. they have procedures for this.

IPhone contacts lost while syncing

I went to sync my contacts with .mac and accidentally clicked the wrong button. I should have clicked on merge but instead clicked something else and now all my contacts are lost. I attempted to search for address.data.previous but this is the first time I synced and there is no previous backup. Help!!!!!

I would think that all users would have a contact list established on their computer in the first place. Like in Windows XP, Microsoft Outlook has all my contacts as well as phone numbers and e-mail addresses. This is where ITunes got the list to place on the Iphone in the first place. It takes little effort to create this data base and so handy to use. Call it insurance if you will.

Iam using 2 different i phones on the same itunes account, Can I keep the contacts seperate with syncing?

I have one itunes account and am using 2 iphones, is it possible to keep all the "contacts" seperate from the two devices, so that I dont have to have all of my husbands contacts in the phone book? Or do I have to use 2 different itune accounts?

Your contacts are not part of your iTunes library. iTunes only syncs contacts with your phone from a supported program such as Outlook or mac Address Book. If you are trying to sync you contacts to the same program they will be merged. You could, however, set up two contact groups within Outlook, one for your contacts and one for his. Both groups would still besynced to both devices but you wouldn't have to look at the contact group you weren't interested in. Another option would be for one of you to continue to sync with iTunes with, for example, Outlook and the other sync contacts with another service such as Google or iCloud (be sure to uncheck Sync Contacts on the Info tab of the the iTunes sync settings for this phone).

Contacts lost when sync'ing iPhone

I recently added a new outlook email account. This came with an empty Contacts folder. When I sync'd my iPhone 6, my contacts were erased when iTunes sync'd with the empty Contacts folder. I tried directing iTunes in Settings/ Contacts to sync with the proper email Contacts folder, but no joy. My only solution to get back my contacts on the iPhone was to delete the new email account and resync.... my contacts were restored, but now I do not have access to the new email account. Anyone know how to direct the sync of Contacts?

I've been afraid to push the button and apparently for good reason. I managed to loose the iPhone contacts. Darn!! I'm pretty sure I got the directions correct. The one fake contact on the computer showed up on the iPhone but no contacts made it to the computer from the iPhone.
I have a variety of archives, but there's an issue there too. None have the .abbu extension, instead they have .abcddb extensions. They are greyed when attempting an import. I duplicated one and changed the extension to .abbu and thought I was on to something when the associated icon changed to show an AB file, but while it was selectable for import, it only went into the ether.
Any thoughts?

I haven't seen this problem before, you will have to run a database session trace to look at the SQL Discoverer Plus is running in the database when the command failed.

Yes, you stop using the same Apple ID under Settings > iCloud.

4s perferences and photos on camera lost with sync...help

I upgraded my 4s software to iOS5. I did back up the phone before doing this. Now when I am syncing none of my original preferences are loading back on the phone, nor are any of the pictures that I took on the phone. I do have my contacts and calendar and all my apps, but no favorites, no ring tones, no pictures. Any ideas??

Did you have Photo Stream turned on?
Open iPhoto on your MacBook and select Photo Stream on the left side.

Its a easy fix,it will take too much time to type out all of the steps,
Check your email account. see if they are their, You can then import them on your DAV card, The best thing to is add them to icoud then they will be safe.
Apple support can talk you through it.

Same grief here - I've found this kind of problem goes back at least 4 years!
My 'old' iPod Touch lost my stored photos and Contact list when I had to reset it.
No problem, just Sync with iTunes.... now my photos and Contacts refuse to transfer from MacBook to Touch in any way I select iTunes Sync!!!
The pictures I'm not too worried about but I refuse to tap in 115 sets of Contact details.
And I'm still to find a straight forward sctual solution...

I would love to do this as well. All I need is my calendar appts from outlook. Right now I am using google calendar sync, but I would like to move to the cloud and away from google. I find it hard to believe there isn't an option to do this.

The complaints I've heard most are due to the fact that the iPhone will not let you use the sync system to read and compose text messages, etc. I vaguely recall somthing about address books not syncing properly, but I've never heard of the sync system wiping the address book on the phone. It shouldn't be possible as the iPhone only supports PBAP for contact syncing, which is one way.
In any event, if the contacts were not synced to something and have been lost, there is no way to recover them, no matter what it was that wiped them.
