Contacts Merge roll-back?

I set up a new/ different Apple ID and account for my wife and after the IOS 5 update wanted to get Photo Stream going on her Phone but a couple problems came up right off the bat, My wife's iPhone 4 not only merged ( I hope) all my 1500 work contacts into her phone .. ( and it may have purged all her contacts.. not sure yet which)... But it also added a couple mail accounts in to her phone that are actually mine.. so she started getting a ton of pop-ups within the mail app.. I fixed that part by deleting these incorrect mail accounts.. but need to know if there is any way to get her Phone Contacts back in a roll-back or similar technique? i would try to do a RESTORE or something with iTunes, but ever since i started the IOS 5 update process on her phone I was getting an error on iTunes each time it tried to SYNC/ Backup, so am not sure what's there on my Win 7 PC iTunes or if it is Ok either.
Your answer could save me many hrs of manual recovery IF there is way to get my stuff OFF her iPhone4. Thanks very much in Advance JimS

 Merge checked out records
 Protect records
 Unprotect records
 Check out records
 Check out new records
 Check in owned records
 Roll back owned records
 Check in non-owned records
 Roll back non-owned records
 Modify join permissions for non-owned records
select ROll back owned/non owned records also give your id Deletion permission for records.
Also put validation after each step with one branch-->True Rollback and false go ahead.

When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

Contacts merged with device that shares the same iTunes account as me

My husband and I share the same itunes account on our phones so whenever he downloads something new it downloads on my phone as well and vice-versa.
Just recently, after iOS 6 update, we noticed that his contacts merged with my iPhone & my contacts have merged with his. Also, he is getting notifications from an app that we share... But the notifications are from MY friends on facebook. The app is called voxer and whenever someone (from my Facebook friends) sign up, my husband gets the notification. Which is really weird because im not even signed on to Facebook on his phone. Somehow my information has merged with his phone and his mine. Why is this? Is there a way I can make things back to normal? Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like you may be syncing your contacts to the same iCloud account on both phones if your contacts are merged. You can share the same iTunes account for purchasing apps and music, but to avoid merging data you sync with iCloud you need to set up separate iCloud accounts on each phone.
To do this, first decide which phone will be changing accounts. On this phone that will be changing, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud. The other phone will not be effected by this.) Next, set up a new iCloud account on this phone using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to this new account. At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the other person's data from your account (such as deleting your husband's contacts from your account, and vice versa). These changes will be reflected on each phone; when you're finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.
Don't know anything about your problem with voxer notifications.

Syncing contacts from iPhone back to iMac (Entourage)

Briefly, after both my Time Machine and hard drive failed, I lost all my data. My Entourage contacts re-main on my iPhone, and I want to sync them back to Entourage. I understand the process of "merging,"but I have run into a few obstacles: I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2), by the way. First, under Preferences, I have no options available under "Syncing." Then, when I connect my iPhone, and select "Info," I have no options here, either. I do have a number of contacts in Entourage in my iMac, but, apparently, iTunes no longer recognizes the existence of this program, so I can go no-
where. (My Entourage Contacts have been duplicated in my Address Book, but that doesn't show up, either. Something must be terribly corrupted.) I'm both frustrated and perplexed, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. pah

Something to check when syncing contacts from iphone back to computer, make sure to open address book and enter at least one contact.
Then when you connect the iphone, you should get a message asking if you want to merge the data.
Click merge and this should copy all contacts from the iphone back into address book.
the same goes with ical also.
Make sure there is at least one event in ical.
Now to move the data in address book and ical to entourage is set in the entourage preferences in the sync services section.

I'm almost at the end of my project with Toplink. but I have to solve this transaction rollback problem. Here is my previous message. any comment is more than welcome.
The problem is this, I pass 2 objects to Toplink to update in database using activeUnitOfWork.shallowMergeClone() method.
one of the updates fails then I expect everything to be rolled back within the same unitofwork. but NOT. the other object is quite well updated in database even though they are merged in the same unit of work... please HELP...

On the server, we have implemented SessionSynchronization to monitor the transaction. afterCompletion method gets a boolean value "true" indicating that the transaction was comitted.
Any database operation that was successful before the erroneous case was saved in DB.

Bad mistake. You shouldn't have used your Apple ID on his phone. And you made it worse because now the contacts are gone, as you deleted them from your phone, they got deleted on iCloud. Your husband should have his Apple ID.
There is really no way of recovering the deleted contacts unless you backed up using iTunes and even then you will only be able to recover those contacts that were on a call list. Read here:

Best way to roll back to 5.01?

Hi,
Since updating to 5.02, PPCS5 on W7 throws up errors when capturing from a Canon XM2. Had no problems with 5.01. And, don't have a problem using PE8 - in fact I have to use PE8 to capture because PPCS5 refuses to play ball.
So, what's the simplest way to roll back a version? Bearing in mind I have the Master Collection installed.

Yeah, going back to 5.01 is probably not the right way to go. I agree that finding the problem is probably the right way to go about this.
Try the standard stuff:
trash prefs,
upgrade graphics driver
clean media cache
If that doesn't work, here's what I would do.
I would launch the uninstaller for Master Collection and then I would uninstall/reinstall JUST Premiere Pro. Once you do that, then run the updater to get Premiere Pro back to 5.02 and see how things go. Failing that, then I would contact tech support and this forum for additional suggestions.

Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back

As a result of a recent problem with Elements Organiser, I had to uninstall all of Elements 10.
When I now try to install it again, it appears to be installing ok (in that it populates the destination folders and places a launch icon on the desk top etc)
However, before it fully finishes the install, the installer window says something along the lines of "Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back Installation". This removes the desktop icon and gradually unpopulates the files from the destination folder.
As recommended on the Adobe Help Page, I have switched off my Firewall (AVG Professional), but the problem still occurs.
I have previously had Elements 10 running ok on this machine.
Any ideas ?

The issue is obviously related to a Failure to Install Shared Technologies.
I've loaded the Adobe Support Installer Analyser, but no joy or no viable solutions.
I can't believe that I have spent money on a product that I cannot use. There appear to be many people on the various forums out there with similar issues.
It should be easy to contact Adobe directly to get clear and unambiguous help on issues such as this.We shouldn't have to rely on well meaning and helpfull forum members for what feels like a breach of consumer rights. If you had a kettle which failed to work correctly after a couple of months, you would want the supplier to resolve the issue, not expect other "kettle users" to suggest a range of alternative solutions !!
Whilst I'm not a PC geek, I'm no slouch either. How on earth would someone with limited PC knowledge cope.

3.0 to 2.2.1 fimware roll back?

I have heard you can roll back the firmware so i want to know if anyone could give detailed instructions on how to do it or point out a web site that shows how?

Rolling back is not the same as "jailbreaking". Search on "DFU mode", here and Google, and you'll find instructions on how to put the Touch in that mode. It can be a little tricky to get the timing right in holding the power and home buttons, but it is quite possible -- successfully did it myself on my 2g Touch.
Once in DFU mode, you can then restore your Touch using an earlier version of firmware, assuming you have it on your computer (which you would have if you did any updates prior to the 3.0 installation). Once in DFU mode, hold the Shift key as you click Restore, then navigate to where the firmware file is located, which on a PC that is:
C:\Documents and Settings\(account name)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
Look for the .ipsw file from an earlier version, e.g. the 2.2.1 OS is "iPod2,12.2.1_5H11aRestore.ipsw". Your iPod will go through the normal restore process, but when you're given the option to re-install your last backup or set it up as a new iPod, be sure to set it up as a new iPod since the backup from 3.0 may not be compatible with earlier OS versions. As a new iPod, you'll not only have to reload all your music and video, you'll have to rselect all your preferred settings, web links, contacts, etc.

Simple and straightforward. Do you believe That verizon should provide a rollback option from the gingerbread update?
My vote would be Yes.
Here is some reasons why
1 First and foremost the update should not have been forced.
2 When making significant changes to the operating system like gingerbread has Motorola should have the decency to contact Droid owners And inform them of the changes they attend to make.
3 The update wasn't really necessary.
4 ethically I believe that verizon should provide a roll back option.
5 regardless of what the fine print says in the contract just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is ethical to do.

I was President of the GB Sux Club after it came out. At least a dozen bugs and glitches were created after I installed it.
But, you know what?
In the weeks that have followed, as apps have been updating (you should check the Market for available updates if you don't have them set to auto), and I check daily, something interesting has happened.
Most of the bugs and glitches have mysteriously gone away.
Is/was GB the "problem"? It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't the problem.
After GB, my phone did and does bizarre things from time to time that makes me wonder how they could be caused by a conflict the O.S. is having with a 3rd party app.
The 3G dropping issue notwithstanding.
There are some issues, yes. But, I contend apps are the main "problem".
Can going back to Froyo (if it were possible) do more harm than good, if 3rd party apps are updated for GB? That's above my pay grade.
I did a reset after GB and it solved nothing. I defiantly refused to un-install all apps, or reboot in Safe Mode.
I did NOTHING but let the developers update their apps and right now, my phone is largely bug and glitch free, again.
In politics, there was the saying, "It's the economy, stupid". In Android, "It's the apps, stupid". (Not speaking to anyone in this forum).
Yes, the evil empire has it right when it comes to the stranglehold they have on which apps are allowed on their tiny iphones.
But, you know what? If, OEMs did the same, the Android experience wouldn't be the frustrating situation it is at times, ESPECIALLY after EACH update.

How can I roll back to an earlier version of OS 7 software

Can anyone advise me on how to roll back to an earlier version of OS 7?
I installed v 7.0 Bundle 2406 a few weeks ago and have had constant synch problems since. Most of these I have been able to fix by deleting 'problem' calendar appointments I have identified on the synch log. However, I have no idea how to solve the latest problem (see below). So I give-up and now want to roll back to ealier version which worked fine.

Is there any way to roll back the version of the back-up so I can restore it to my new one?

I got a 2nd hand iPhone and put same name on it as my old one so it sync'd to the new one; I want to get an earlier back-up version of my iTunes because I mistakenly put my old phone's name on the new one. Now all of my contacts and everything else is gone any ideas on how to roll-back?

Everything worked fine before the update and nothing on the car has changed. I unpaired and repaired and now I get the message on my car that says "Feature not supported on the current phone" The reason I chose this vehicle and phone were because I really needed that feature due to being a real estate broker on the road all the time. I didn't ask for the update and I want it back to the old OS. I'm also having issues now with battery life, WiFi, and bluetooth. This is totally unacceptable and if I have to change phones I will definitely be changing carriers on all 3 lines I have. Please advise.

Remember, this process will totally wipe your device, so the backup is important.
Download the file above. Extract it from the ZIP file if it is zipped. If it is a ".rar" file, you will need a WinRar unpacking app on your PC to extract the file. Connect your BlackBerry to the PC. Using Link, do a backup* (see below) of your phone. Locate the downloaded file and run the autoloader (double click on the EXE file) and a black DOS window appears indicating "Connecting to bootrom". The DOS window processes the install, and begins to load the OS. If you have a security passwored, you will be asked to enter it. When the OS loading is complete, your Z10 will reboot. Disconnect from the PC, and the device will startup. Optional but recommended: Wipe your device at your Settings > Security > Security Wipe. This can take 30 mins to an hour. Go through the required device setup of connecting to WiFi, Agreements, enter your BlackBerryID, and Get Acquainted screens. Reconnect to the PC and perform your restore using BlackBerry Link. Now, you will need to re-enter account passwords for email, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Backup Notes: When you backup using Link, you can make one total backup, or divide that backup into three different databases (Setup | Media | App Data). I always break that backup into the three different databases so that I can restore each separately because I have had some issues with a full restore failing in the App database restore, so then I can safely restore only Settings and Media.
Remember, this process does totally wipe your device, so the backup is important. Reserve about two hours time for the process... performing the backup and restore takes the longest part of the time and will vary according to the amount of data and apps on your BlackBerry.
Post Upgrade device lag, heat, fast battery discharge: After any OS upgrade on a BB10 device, it will take 48-72 hours for the device data syncing of email, contacts, social apps, etc., to complete and finish. High data transfer after an upgrade cause high processor use, which in turn causes high battery usage, which in turn can cause higher than nornal heat from the device. Likewise, high processor use will cause some lag and initial slowness. Ignore and and be patient. It can take the 48 hours for all contacts to sync back to the device. Connect to a good WiFi source and relax. The battery will recover after a few days and you'll see normal battery usage again. Just don't drain your battery to 10% or less each time, top off the charge. You'll notice a difference after a couple days.

You cannot back up your Mac to iCloud. Even backing the whole thing up to another online service would be dubious because it would take a very long time. You should buy an external hard disk and back up to that - even better, buy two and use one to make a Time Machine backup and the other to clone your Mac from time to time, thus giving you a backup from which you can boot in an emergency.
If you wanted to back up a suitably sized selection of data to an online service there are a number of third-party methods available, some of which are examined here:
