Contacts not displaying properly on Messages for Mac

Hey there everybody,
I was wondering if you could help me out. I seem to be having trouble with my Messages. For some odd reason, it seemed to have stopped working correctly. My contacts names and pictures no longer show up on Messages, however, the names seem to be replaced with their phone number. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but, I sadly do not have all of my contacts' phone numbers memorised. The contacts look perfectly fine in the Contacts app on my Mac and on the Contacts app on my iPhone. The contacts came from my MacBook originally - so I'm not sure what is up.
Anyway,
I hope someone can give me some answers as to how to fix this.

Contacts not displaying properly in video iPod, need help

My contacts do not display properly on my video iPod. The phone numbers sometimes have dashes and sometimes do not in the iPod but the phone numbers always have the dashes in my address book on my G4 desktop. Example: iPod 555 555 1212 or 5555551212 or 555-555-1212
address book 555-555-1212 (always has the dashes)
I want the Ipod to display the way it looks in the address book, always using the dashes. I am total type A and it drives me crazy when they are not all the same!
I have iTunes 7 on a MDD G4 running 10.4

hi,
By default Messages should grab info from the Address Card in the Contacts app even if the iCloud option is not checked (and then syncing with other computers and iOS devices that are also set to sync this way).
However the Contacts App does need to be opened and have the Preferences > Accounts checked to see it is using a Valid Account.
The Address Cards need to list iMessages and possibly AIM and Jabber ID info as well.
Next you need to check the View Menu in Messages.
The Buddy Name option only used to work in Buddy List but now seems to also effect the main Messages window. (So you can change it here to Handle, which is ID or Screen Name).
Lower down is the option to display Names, Pictures or Name and Pictures next to people in the Chats.

Contact pictures not displaying in Lync 2011 for Mac

Using Lync 2011 for Mac I'm not seeing any contact pictures (including my own), though I can see them when signed into Lync 2013 on a Windows PC (7, 8.1, and 10 Technical Preview for Enterprises).
My company uses O365 hosted Exchange and on premise Lync Server.
I'm using OSX 10.10.1 (on a 2014 Air) and Lync for Mac 2011 14.0.10 (141024). I have AutoUpdate set to automatically check weekly and I manually checked (button at the bottom of Microsoft AutoUpdate) so I believe I'm running the current release.
Logging in with another user account on my same Mac/Lync install has the same issue
Another user account on their own Mac also has the same issue
It's also worth noting that the same issue arises when signing into Lync for Android and iOS as well, but not on Windows (Lync 2013).
Any thoughts? Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Also, my apologies for putting this question in this subforum, but I didn't see any main forum for Office for Mac or Lync 2011 or Lync for Mac at all. If there is such here on technet, please drop the link here and I'll move the thread.

On mobile, you have no control over how photos are displayed. Lync Mobile can only display photos retrieved from Active Directory or SharePoint, it cannot display a photo from a URL. If a user
is displaying a photo from a URL and there is a photo in AD, it will display the photo from AD. If there is no photo in AD, it will display no photo at all.
About Lync for Mac, as I know Lync 2011 for Mac does not support high resolution images. Only in Lync 2013,
In Lync 2013, when the user’s photo experience has been migrated to Exchange 2013 and they are using Lync 2013, high resolution photos can be used.
So please tell us where the photos are stored, we need more information to troubleshoot the issue.

Newly created images will not display in Firefox 8 for Mac. Same images appear in other browsers. Why?

1. Specific new images are uploaded but will not display in Firefox 8 on my Mac with OS 10.6.8. (Does appear in other browsers, e.g., Chrome and Opera, and appears on Firefox 8 for PC.) Also, other images on the page display.
2. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc., in Recent History, and restarted both application and computer.
3. I've tried creating GIF, JPG and PNG, but none show on the page in Firefox on my Mac. I can see the offending image in other browsers such as Chrome on the same computer, and on Firefox on PC. You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Paste not working properly in DW for Mac

Ok, here's a gripe which has long irritated me, but which is so minor I've not bothered posting about it before now because by the time I fight my way through the Adobe site, login to the fora, type and post a message, I fixed the problem manually, but it's got to the stage where it's got my goat.
I'm using DW 9 (CS3) under Mac OS/X Tiger (10.4), but the problem's occurred in previous versions of DW. Basically, I can't paste anything but bare text into design view. It doesn't matter from which application I've copied, even bare text in a web page, hitting Cmd-V does zip. I have to go into Paste Special and choose Text Only - all other options do bubkes. I can go into Code View and paste which of course just drops in unformatted text. This is a real PITA in situations like now, where I've got to go through 3 pages worth of academic references manually inserting carriage returns then formatting text as bold and italic. Is this a known 'issue' with DW for Mac? There's nothing wrong with the DW prefs that I can see, and I've been using this damn software for the best part of a decade so it's not as if I'm a newbie, though my Mac usage is relatively recent (last couple of years).
I've got to say that DW on the Mac, as you guys across the Pond say, sucks bigtime. It's memory usage is less than optimal (activity meter sometimes hits near 100% processor usage if DW's working), it's often keyboard-abusingly slow, and there are so many little 'idiosyncrasies' that irritate that it would take pages to outline them all. The irritations are so minor that it's not worth posting about them usually (getting to this stage has cost me 15 minutes, in which time I could have added all the CRs in my ref list), but it does grate that hundreds of dollars worth of bloatware grinds along on what is pretty much a top of the range machine (Macbook Pro). Luckily I'm not paying for the software - my employer is, otherwise I'd be really narked. I only use it on account of the site management capabilities which aren't duplicated AFAIK in any Open Source software.
Ok, that's that off my chest. Back to basic sodding text editing that I shouldn't have to do...

PS: Are you sure you've stuffed your pages with enough JS code, Adobe? Clunky ain't the word for some of the pages on this site...

Just to add another gripe about DW for Mac, it hangs and/or crashes on a regular basis. For example, I've just now asked it to open a small (8kb) XML file and it's gone into a funk with the old spinning disk, which I'll have to force quit. No big, but not what you'd expect of a 'premium' product.

Will Messages for Mac be updated to properly sync with Google Hangouts?

Now that SMS and iMessages can be viewed in Messages for Mac, I was wondering if Google Hangouts will be properly integrated into this application. Messages doesn't sync my texts through hangouts on other devices back to the Messages applications. For example, if I have both the Messages for Mac application open and the Hangouts app on my phone, if I send a message via Hangouts on my phone, my text will not appear on Messages for Mac, but their response will appear on both devices. Is this issue one with Google or Apple? And do you know of any workarounds?

Why is my youtube webpage not displaying properly?

My youtube webpage is not displaying properly. its like tthere is only text and thumbnails and the whle webpage is too damn long. The videos don't play when clicked. Problem on both firefox and chrome. I disabled kaspersky av but it didnt make any difference cuz i thought the firewall mustve been blocking something. check screenshot attached.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Hi,I am working on Agentry 5.4.0I have a list screen where for one of the columns I have a rule to display images ( I use checked and unchecked images ). Earlier the images were getting displayed properly on the ATE but it is not working now and I did not make any changes to the image properties then.But after this, I tried couple of things with the image properties to make it work, like when I do not use any mask colour the image does not get displayed but when i use any maks colour the image gets displayed but its completely blacked out ( and thus for checked image, cannot see the check mark and its completely blacked out ).I face same issue with the login image as well. I added a new Image ( Logo ) to my App for the login Screen, but even this image does not appear on the login screen.
I also tried deleting the Dev folder and re-publishing, but even this does not work.

Try deleting the Application directory under your development server where the images reside and publish again.
Completely clear your ATE and transmit again from scratch.
Also, what mask color are you using?
Try using a green hugh and not black or white for the mask.

Now, its behaving strangely:When I do a sync after publishing or a reset of ATE; I see the new image properly displayed on the screen but when I leave the screen and come back to the same screen again, the new image is getting replaced by the old image ( atleast the old image is not displayed properly, it appears like a black square box..and because of the same issue I had with this image I switched to the new image ). Behaviour in Win32 Client:When I tested with the client, I see the new image properly for the first time and when i leave the screen and come back the image disappears..This is the behaviour in client.
Please suggest.

Prashanthi,What did you use to create these images?
They are simple bitmaps I assume?
Try creating some very simple images using Microsoft Paint, then set a mask of green in Agentry.
Your problem sounds familiar, but I can't find a matching bug in our database.
Maybe someone else has experienced this?
You could also try upgrading to a newer version of Agentry to see if the problem goes away.

But strangely, from past few days I see that the image is working fine again.
But kept this topic open because it was wierd, that the image is working correctly again without making any major change. What I did was to just write the rule again which calls the image ( though i did this before and did not work then but worked now ) and to observe the image behaviour for few days.But it seems like it is fine now.

Ads are not displaying properly in Safari, v 4.0.5

I am having an odd problem with display ads from our local newspaper not displaying properly on my Mac Pro in Safari. I suspect that the issue might be related to having had some AdBlock app on my system a few months ago. I removed the app and some ads display, but others are just a white block with nothing inside. Is there any way to figure out why the content doesn't load?

The ads I'm having issues with are the 300x250 ads in the right 3rd column, located directly below the weather info and above the "marketplace" ads.
Any ideas or troubleshooting tips?

Oh, why do I wanna see em in the first place? I'm an advertiser on the site and would like to see my own ads load occasionally.

I can see all the ads on the right,
with the exception of the very top (first) box
which has the header of "Weather Alerts).
It's blank, and I'm assuming you have no alerts at the present.
All the rest of the paid for ads show.
So, what I would do is clear my Safari cache, history, and
in Preferences>Security, clear all the cookies from that site.

Some websites do not display properly or function

Using Firefox v29.0.1; running Win 7 Pro 64-bit version.
Some websites do not display properly - as if Firefox is not finding the CSS (Facebook for one).
Also, on Craig's List, I can't click on any of the links including the contact/reply button.
Wanted to attach screenshots but see no place to do so.

Looks like something in my history must have been causing it.

Some HTML Emails Do Not Display Properly

Recently, some HTML emails do not display properly in Mail. All I see is HTML. Yet, 98% of my HTML emails render properly.
Any thoughts on why this happens with some emails? Is it a Mail issue or are these emails not coded properly?

Could be a combination but since Mail renders 98% of of all HTML messages properly (using Safari as the engine), this indicates it is a coding problem.
I'm not a big fan of using HTML with email since it introduces a number of problems. If everyone used Plain Text for message composition, the majority if not all problems experienced with email would be eliminated.

Degree symbol not displayed properly in Safari 6

I don't know whether this is a font/configuration issue or a bug. If I look at a certain web site, the degree symbol is displayed as a black diamond with a white "?" inside it in Safari 6. It displays properly on the same Mac using Chrome. It displays properly on an iPhone and iPad using iOS5.1. So I suspect this is a Safari 6 issue.
This is not a major problem, just an annoyance. If anyone has an idea for resolution, I'd sure appreciate it.

My design view won't display properly in Mozilla or IE. The images show. The CSS (core and flow) are found according to the access logs. But it doesn't display nicely at all. This was an upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6. 1.5 looked fine. My old applications from 1.5 display properly.

Webfont not displaying properly in design mode or appearing in font list

Just updated Muse and now my heading webfont (Nunito) is not displaying properly in design mode or appearing in the font list. It is, however, displaying properly in preview mode. When I try and delete the font and then add it again I get an error message that says the font can't be added. Any idea what's going on?

Please try the steps below. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
1. Close Muse
2. Rename the folders named tk1 and tk2 in the following locations
On Windows: %appdata%\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
3. Launch Muse and add the font again

DW8 files not displayed properly in DW CS3

Any help will be greatly appreciated in the following
question:
I've been using Dreamweaver 8 successfully in creating and
maintaining several websites. However, when I try to use the newly
purchased Dreamweaver CS3 on HTML files previously created on DW8,
the files are not displayed properly (all elements are jumbled up
together in the "Design" view). But, when I do a "Preview in
Browser", the pages are just fine.
Has any other DW user had similar experiences and if so, any
solutions?

DWCS3 is much less tolerant of code mistakes than was DW8,
and your symptoms
suggest that this may be the cause of your problems. Do the
DW8 pages
validate when you go here -
