Contacts notes still have extra characters

I have a pre that's 2 yrs old. I have been reading that the extra characters < br / > issue is known; in fact 2 other posts from 2010 were closed. I still have this problem; I added a contact 10 minutes ago and notes still added extra characters. The extra characters have never gone away since arriving a year (?) or more? any help coming?

OK - I just went into icloud settings on my iphone and figured I would toggle off the notes, back out and then go back and toggle notes back on... this was the one set of data that wasn't critical if I list it.
Notes came back, reminders are now back and contacts are now back... Still would love to know why these all disappeared in the first place. All seems to be back to normal though.

Those are one-time only codes, even if you had it you could not use it again.
I don't actually know if movies downloaded this way appear in your purchase history or not, but if they do then you may be able to download the movie as and when the rights holders grant permission for repeat downloads in your region.
To avoid disappointment in future create a backup and keep it up-to-date.

I assigned specific custom ringtones to specific contacts on my iPhone 4. When I sync my new iPhone 5, will those contacts automatically still have those ringtones assigned to them, or will I have to go into each contact and manually reassign them again?

Just wondering if it's possible to sync iPhone 5 in a way that automatically keeps my contacts from my iPhone 4 with the same custom ringtones. Or will I have to re-assign them all manually?

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I had to go into settings, into iCloud and turn on contacts backed up to iClouds. Never had that on before but immediately 90% of names and other info came back. Still have some names not showing up, but not many.

PDFMaker bookmarks broken or extra characters

My configuration:
Windows XP SP2
Acrobat 8 Pro
Word 2000
When I attempt to create bookmarks automatically using the options in PDFMaker, the resulting bookmarks are broken and the bookmarked headings have extra characters in front of them.
By broken, I mean that the bookmarks all point to the same, incorrect page.
The headings (and StyleRef fields in the headers) include extra characters of the form 0B, 1B, 2B, etc.
This happens when I start Word without any other add-ins, and when I try to process a completely new, small, clean document with just a few headings.
This happens when I use built-in headings and when I use custom designed headings.
Any suggestions for fixes or workarounds will be appreciated!

Bill: Thanks for your suggestion. AFAIK we are using the last available update to Word 2000. And remember, it's not a problem in the DOC file -- it's only in the PDF when created with bookmarks.
Here's my most precise formulation of the problem to date. I'll call the unwanted characters in the headers the "1B" problem.
When you create a PDF with bookmarks from a document that uses a StyleRef to populate the headings, IF the StyleRef is for a built-in heading style, the "1B" problem appears. In our problem template, the headings are filled by StyleRef to Heading 1, a built-in heading style.
If I create a custom style named H1 that is identical in all aspects to Heading 1 and use that for the topic title paras (paras that used to be Heading 1) the "1B" problem disappears.
To recap, in the "fixed" version:
H1 (used for the level 1 PDF bookmark) is a custom para style used for topic titles. Headers are populated via StyleRef to H1.
Heading 2 is used for the level 2 PDF bookmark. (I expect any other built-in headings will work fine as well. It's just a conflict between built-in headings and StyleRef fields.)
This leaves three solutions:
1. Revise the style definitions in the template to use a custom style for topic title paras.
2. Remove the header from the template design
3. Create bookmarks manually.
I'm inclined to remove the headers, as this is a medium-sized manual that isn't divided into chapters, and it's of marginal value to the reader to put the topic titles in the page headers when there are so few topics, and they are each only few pages long.
I don't expect a solution in the form of an upgrade or patch for either Word 2000 or Acrobat 8. Word users on the Word-PC site experimented for me, and we were able to reproduce the problem in Word 2007 and Acrobat 8. I suspect it's there with Word 2003 as well.

The problem got solved..,its decoding every extended bit values.
The function was changed little bit.Array copy is done using for loop.

HT204150 I can't get my contacts back on my phone from my icloud. It's up and running and I have already turned on the contacts. The icloud online shows that I still have all of my contacts but they are not popping up on my phone.

I had my mom on my icloud through a different phone for the longest time and just took it off her phone today. Now all of my contacts have been erased from my phone. I went on the icloud online and it is showing that my contacts are still there, but they are not on my phone. I need help!!!

Go to Settings>iCloud and confirm that you are signed into the account that contains you conacts and that the contacts setting is turned on. Also open the contacts app and tap Groups (if you have this setting at the top) and make sure all your contacts groups are checked.
If they still don't appear, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then turn Contacts on again.
If they still don't appear, force-close the Contacts app and reset your phone: double-tap the home button, locate Contacts, swipe up on the image above the app icon to close it, tap the home button again. Then hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release and wait for it to restart. Then check your contacts again.

What your iPhone using friends label your phone number in their contacts is irrelevant. I don't know who you pay $9.99 a month to but it's not Apple. You can't disable text messaging on your iPad as it is not capable of SMS.
Do you still have the iPhone? If so, log out of iMessage on the iPhone.
Try this:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "Edit Products"
Click on the "X" to the right of the product.
Click "Unregister"
Also, try changing the password on your iTunes account.

Check the age of the files you wish to open.
Keynote 6 (the latest you downloaded) will opne Keynote 5 (KN09) files but nothing earlier. For that KN5 will act as an intermediate format (you save KN4 and earlier as KN5), then KN6 can open the resultanr files.
Make sure you have a backup of your original files, in case KN6 cannot replicate some of your earlier builds and transitions.

My carrier is Bell Mobility in Canada and i have email service through Eastlink.
I have two emails associated with this phone - one with Hotmail and one from Eastlink.
Also when i fwd an email it is sometimes blank! No fwd message at all - the email is completely blank!
Does anyone else have this issue?

This issue can be resolved by changing the SMTP server settings in your email account. Go to Settings>Accounts and click on the email account.
Make sure you use a SMTP server that requires authentication (username and password). Contact your internet service provider to get an SMTP server.

You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple have made this as difficult as possible. However two posters have managed to achieve this. Elizellen was able to use Express Lane to get a refund:

Why do I have extra songs in my iPhone playlist that are not on my iTunes library?

After doing the iOS7 update (and iOS7.0.2) I decided to add my music to my phone (I never had music on it before).
I discovered that there were 20 very random and obscure broadway songs that were on my iPhone in addition to the 60 songs I just synced. They had the iCloud icon by them, unlike the songs I had just added.
After doing research I found that the broadway songs were technically "purchased" on iTunes although they are not songs I would have ever purchased- in fact I have never once purchased anything on iTunes. This isn't my worry though, I am assuming it must have been some random free download I did at some point?
I went to settings > music > and turned show all music off. This did NOT work for all of them and only solved the problem 80%. There are still 4 of the random song on my iPhone. They DO NOT show up in my iTunes library on my computer and don't even exist on my computer.
With the other songs I can left swip and delete but these 4 songs won't! Why won't these four songs left swipe?
I am going crazy and have tried restarting my phone, restarting iTunes, re-syncing, turning off the iCloud. NOTHING WORKS.
Please help. I am a normally a very smart and tech-savvy person and I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I don't want to wipe everything- which as a solution is a pretty weak solution.

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!! (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)
Should solve your problem :~)
