Contacts randomly missing . Can only see H N V and W
So randomly yesterday I went to my contacts and only certain ones are showing up. But when I look at call log and messages the names are still there with number attached. i switched phones with the iCloud the other day but everything was perfectly fine. How can I fix this??
I had been syncing with iCloud but, as mentioned, I turned off the automatic syncing to see if that was the issue. The last manual sync to iCloud I did was las night, after which all of my contacts were still there - they were also still there this morning. I randomly looked at my phone about an hour ago and realized the issue had happened again so no sync was done between last night's and the issue happening again today.

This started happening to me on my iPhone 4. Some text messages show only the numer they came from and those same numbers do not show the contact name in my calls list, even though the contacts are saved and synced via iCloud. I have tried to save different versions of the number in the same contact, but it won't work. If I call one of the recent numbers though, the conact comes up. I have tried reseting and restoring to no avail.

Do you keep your data backed up?
If not, you should always do so*:

You never know when a hard drive or a directory might go bad. Having a bootable clone is a must.

If you aren't backed up, try buying those tools first, before attempting to repair the directory.

You probably have a corrupt preference file, specifically 'systemuiserver.plist'. But there are potentially two of them, so ...
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.
Then log out and back in again. You may need to go to System Preferences to put back the menu items you need to display.
If this alone doesn't work, you may need to delete your caches, so repeat the above and then:
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Caches", delete everything. Again, you need to log out and back in.

I think there is no such thing as hidden contacts. You can see all your contacts by selecting menu Contacts >> Contact List >> All

Can not use all apps with cellular data
In Settings/General/Restrictions if you tap on Cellular Data Use there should be 2 options: Allow Changes or Don't Allow Changes. If you don't see these options is that where you see "Cellular data is turned off for 'Setting'?
Do you have a corporate MS Exchange email account on your phone? If so your administrator may have added an override on this setting. -

Place your iPhone into recovery mode as described here. You may have to try to enter recovery mode more than once to succeed.

I can't get into my 5c to make a call. I have 2 screens that are visible. One says 'iPhone disabled, connect to itunes' , and the other is an emergency keypad. How do I fix this problem? I get an occasional call, usually from farther away than most. I hear the chime for messages coming in, but can't access them.

i wanted to update my iphone 4s to ios6. no problems until the install/loading bar appeared on the iphone. that was 2 hours ago. nothing happened there is no progress being showed.
i also reset my iphone (home button + standby button). result: the apple logo and the bar appear, but still nothing happens...

HT1551 Apple TV - can only see Computers and Settings options (no internet)
sine the apple2 tv software was updated last week I can only see options for computers and settings
whilst my internet connection is clearly working, I cannot access youtube or internet radio as there is no internet option
any ideas how to fix this pls?My ATV3 has worked beautifully for the last week. We woke up this morning to find this problem. Nothing weird happened over night - my entire network has been up all night with no resets or anything strange.
The ATV3 accessing all of my Home Sharing content, so I know the network is fine (wired). Tried resetting and cycling power. Tried changing locations/setting language. Nothing. I even tried resetting my DSL Router, but to no avail.
I've got nothing fancy going on with my location, short of being in Canada.
Update: Oh, and I have a 2nd ATV3 downstairs, also on a wired connection. Just found out that it, too, is exhibiting the same error. Although, I'd left it in 'iTunes Match' last night and the first thing I saw when I started it up was "Error: iTunes is Unavailable. Please try again later". Plugged my old Popcorn Hour in and it, at least, is working fine. -
Xp box can only see 1 mac on wireless...

My set up:
1 MacBook Pro (my work laptop)
1 iMac 24 (shared printer, iTunes lib)
1 PC with XP (partners work laptop)
All connected via wireless
My iMac has a printer connected and contains the shared iTunes library. The house is fully wireless all of the machines can all see each other, however.
The XP PC can only see the iTunes library and able to print (via) bonjour when using ethernet into the wireless router. When I disconnect the PC from the ethernet and go wireless it can see the shared library in iTunes but I get a message about firewalls on each side being on or off and the printer won't print although it is seen when setting up the printer in Bonjour for Windows.
The XP PC can however see and play the iTunes library on my MacBook without a problem on both wireless and wired. But only on when wired does XP PC see the iMac24 and works ok.
Can anyone help...? Is the problem with the iMac24 or the wireless router..? I'm confused

Derekit's the combination wireless+windows XP XP has trouble using it often my computers are connected to a WAN but via a LAN and then I can make a connection with the WAN via a Vista PC directly doesn't work

I can only see some of the information of my Facebook friends in my Contacts. For example, a friend has a birthday today. I received an email that she and another friend have birthdays this week. I received a notification on my iPhone and iPad that her birthday was today. It was never displayed in my Notification Center or Calendar beforhand, like it's displayed for other friend's (for other friends, it's displayed in the Notification Center, with the Calendar icon, 1 day before). I looked at every setting I could think of and the Help pages on Facebook. Nothing is working. My friend with the birthday today has her birthday openly listed on her Profile information on her Facebook page. In my contacts, her Facebook email (the one Facebook assigns you when you join) is listed. However her picture and birthday are not listed. I displayed my Facebook Contacts only, and roughly 20 showed up and not the rest. It's like the devices are not recognizing those people and putting their information in the respective places. I have an iPad 3rd Gen, iPhone 5, and MacBook Pro (purchased in January 2013. I hope that helps) and ALL the software updates are current. Can anyone help? Also, my MacBook cannot access my Contacts from Yahoo. Despite my typing in the correct password repeatedly as well as deleting and adding the Yahoo account again. I'd be grateful for any and all help. Thank you.Step by step, how did you arrive at seeing this agreement?
