Contacts reverting to old information

I recently replaced my Iphone with a new one. When I synced with Itunes everything worked fine. However, lately for some odd reason Contacts will sync outdated information thru Mobile Me. For instance yesterday I saved a recent call on my Iphone as new information for an existing client. This should have uploaded to Mobile Me and then also been added to my address book on my laptop. However, the next day the information is not saved and old information is present in all three locations. Idisk, Address Book, Iphone. This has happened on several contacts.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

If you are getting a conflict resolution dialog saying Entourage and Address Book have a conflict, this means you enabled Sync Services via Entourage preferences. When syncing iPhone contacts and calendar events with Entourage, Sync Services must be enabled via Entourage preferences, which keeps the Entourage address book and calendar synced with the Address Book and iCal, which the iPhone is actually synced with when syncing iPhone contacts and calendar events with Entourage via the iTunes sync process.
I believe your problem lies with having Sync Services enabled via Entourage preferences, which is syncing the Address Book on your Mac with the Entourage address book.
Disable this via Entourage Preferences.
Follow this by editing your contacts in the Address Book on your Mac. After you get the contact info corrected with the Address Book on your Mac, under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone. Select Apply followed by a sync.

  • Changed information on a track reverts to old information on playback

So I add an album to itunes. I then change stuff about the track to my preference (Artist, song title, genre, etc.). Then as soon as the song is played all the information reverts to what it was when I first put it in itunes. This doesn't happen on every track, just random ones.
I had read somewhere to change the ID3 tags to the newest version, so I've been doing that as soon as I put an album in, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

You may have another program messing with the files. The usual culprit is Windows Media Player. Go to WMP Options, and on the Library tab uncheck everything that talks about automatic updates, etc.

  • Whenever I try to delete or change a contact, the old name and number still appears. Is there a way to fully delete the old information?

Say if I changed the mobile number for "John Smith". If I go to my contacts or messages and type in "John Smith" both the old and new numbers appear. As you can image, this becomes very confusing. And sometimes I'm deleting contacts for a reason, I don't want my phone to remember it. How can I actually delete a contact or change the information?

That will clear up on its own but will take 3-5 days to do so.  Try again in a few days.  In the meantime, you can manually back up to your computer using iTunes by clicking Back Up Now on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings.

  • I have 3 PC's.  Two of them I use at 2 different locations and only use them 6 months a year.  So, if I have Icloud for my calendar, and turn on a computer that has not been used for 6 months, does all the old information on that computer to go Icloud?

I have 3 PC's.  Two of them I use at 2 different locations and only use them 6 months each year.  When I turn on a computer that has not been used for 6 months, does all of the old information from that computer end up in Icloud?  Does Icloud push all the new calendar and contact items over the old items?

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
A few things to discuss...so bear with me...
    1) Contrary to how others do things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a conduit software that functions as a bridge between your chosen PIM and the BB. See this KB for compatible PIM's:
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    2) RIM provides a Device Switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB...but only for compatible devices. See this KB:
KB05459 How to use the Switch Device Wizard to switch from another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone
    3) If your old device is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM further provides the ability to import from ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:
KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device
Sorry, but RIM provides no assistance on how to get your data out of your old device and into the ASCII or CSV format...that's a function of your old device.
So, your choice is, IMO, to keep using a desktop PIM to manage your data (and you should, IMO)...then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, get your data out of your old device and into the desktop PIM. Then, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Good luck and let us know!

  • Transfer mail and contact from an old account to a new one ?

    Hi,
The employe from the company where I got my internship are currently using mail address that are like [email protected] and the company wants them to
use the new mail address [email protected] (in both case the employee are using outlook).
The problem is that they would like to keep their old mail and contact. I know you can do a manual archive but can you import it in a new account ? Will it also
save the contact of the user ? Since it's a new account with a new domain, I really have no idea how to transfer mail and contact from the old account to the new one.
    Best regards,
    Dimitri

This step-by-step article describes how to copy or how to move your Personal Address Book (PAB) from one computer to another
    computer.
On all installations, including those with no e-mail accounts, Microsoft Outlook creates a default Outlook Address Book. The Outlook
Address Book consolidates all your Outlook Contacts folders. The Outlook Address Book is a virtual address book instead of a physical address book because Outlook does not store the Outlook Address Book as a file that is separate from your data store. The
Outlook Address Book provides a view to your Contacts folders.
Unlike the Outlook Address Book, a personal address book (PAB) is a physical address book that Outlook stores on disk that is separate
from your data store. You can add one PAB to an e-mail profile, and use the PAB to store additional contact information.
You can use the PAB to store personal addresses or to store other contact information that you want to keep separate from your other
Outlook data. Additionally, you can use a PAB to share addresses with other users. The PAB uses a .pab file name extension, and Outlook creates the PAB file when you add the PAB to your e-mail profile.
How to identify the PAB file that your e-mail profile uses
    Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click View or change existing directories or address books, and then click Next.
Under You can choose a directory or address book below to change or remove it, click Personal Address Book, and then
    click Change.
Note the path of your PAB file that is in the Path box. You will require this information to find the PAB file in step 3 in the "How to copy the PAB file to
a second computer" section of this article.
For example, C:\Exchange\Mailbox.pab indicates that a PAB named Mailbox.pab is located on a Microsoft Exchange folder on your drive C.
Click OK, and then click Finish to close all dialog boxes.
On the File menu, click Exit.
How to copy the PAB file to a second computer
    Quit all e-mail programs.
    Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
In the Folders pane, expand the folders to locate the PAB file whose path you took note of in step 5 in the "How to identify the PAB File that your e-mail profile
    uses" section of this article.
Copy the PAB file to a 3.5 inch disk, and then use that disk to copy the PAB file to the second computer. Note the path of the PAB file on the second computer.
For example, if you copy the PAB file named Mailbox.pab to a folder that is named Address Book on drive C, the path of the address book is as follows:
    C:\Address Book\Mailbox.pab
Alternatively, if your two computers are on the same network, you can copy the PAB file from the source computer to a network share on the second computer.
For more information about how to perform this task in Microsoft Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or your online Help.
Note You can save the PAB file in any folder on the destination computer as long as you remember the location.
How to configure your second computer to use the new PAB file
If you do not have the Personal Address Book service in your e-mail profile on the second computer, you must add the service before
you can add the new PAB file to your profile. To add the Personal Address Book service for the new PAB file, follow these steps:
    Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click Add a new directory or address book, and then click Next.
Click Additional Address Books, and then click Next.
In the Additional Address Book Types box, click Personal Address Book, and then click Next.
In the Path box, type the path of the PAB file that you copied to the second computer in step 4 in the "How to copy the PAB file to a second computer" section
of this article. Alternatively, you can click Browse to locate the PAB file.
    Click OK.
If you receive the The E-mail account you have just added will not be start until you choose Exit from the file menu, and then restart Outlook prompt, click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit, and then restart Outlook. Your new PAB is now available.
If you have the Personal Address Book service in your e-mail profile on the second computer, you can change the service to use the
new PAB file. To change an existing Personal Address Book service to use the new PAB file, follow these steps:
On the second computer, start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click View or change existing directories or Address Books, and then click Next.
In the Outlook processes e-mail for these accounts in the following order list, click Personal Address Book, and
    then click Change.
On the Personal Address Book tab, type the path of the PAB file that you copied to the second computer in step 4 in the "How to copy the PAB file to a second
computer" section of this article. Alternatively, you can click Browse to locate the PAB file.
Click the PAB file, click OK, and then click Finish.
On the File menu, click Exit.
Quit and then restart Outlook. Your new PAB is now available.
Note There can be only one Personal Address Book service per e-mail profile. There is not a method for merging
one PAB file with another. You can use the Outlook Import and Export Wizard to merge the active PAB entries in your Contacts folder.
Additionally, you can add both recipients and distribution lists to contacts that are in the Personal Address Book interface in
    Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
For more information about the Outlook Import and Export Wizard, click Microsoft
Office Outlook Help on the Help menu,
type Outlook Import and Export Wizard in
    the Search for box
in the Assistance pane, and then click Start searching to
    view the topic.

I've just got an iPhone 5, the problem I've got is I can't transfer my old contacts of my old sim to my iPhone. The old sim is a lot bigger than the new one

The iPhone 5 uses a Nano-Sim, your old phone uses a Micro-Sim.  But you already knew that.  If you purchased your iPhone 5 from a specific carrier, and the same carrier provided your old device, they may be able to transfer your contacts.  Otherwise, you can search for a method to sync your old phone contacts to another service (like Google contacts, or yahoo contacts, or the Personal Information Manager on your computer like Outlook or Windows contacts), then sync the data to your iphone.

I received an email this am telling me I was charged for a purchase I made of .99 this am.  I did not purchase anything. I contacted PayPay and was informed it was for a recurring monthly .99 fee..I don't know what that is and don't want it. What is it?  PayPal cancelled any further payments for this. I was informed I needed to request refund from ITunes. I did that. Why was I charged a .99 recurring fee? I purchased, or thought I did, an app called "Appzilla2" on Jan 10 for .99 cents.  Does this mean I must pay .99/monthly to use it?  If so, please cancel the appzilla.

We are itunes users just like you.  We cannot cancel anything.
Look at your purchase history and see what the charge is for.  Contact itunes support if need be.

  • I want to change my primary email to my most current email but it keeps saying there is already an apple ID for that email, how do I delete that one so I can use all of my old information, just with my most current email address?

I created the apple ID that I currently have about 6 years ago and I want to change my primary email from my childish one to my most current email that I constantly use, but I think I accidentally created an apple ID with that email, I want to delete that apple ID so that I can just plug my new email in with all of my old information (that is still the same).  I am so lost

I don't believe Apple lets you delete old accounts. They also will not let you merge them.

    Why?
This will only create problems for you.
All iTunes pruchases are tied to the AppleID purchased with.
Just use the old AppleID. You can update it if needed.

I used the following method, which means that your contacts are permanently on your iPhone (the problem with syncing to Gmail in order to 'transfer' contacts is that you need the gmail account to be active all the time in order to see the contacts), take an example of transferring contacts from Sony to iPhone:
    1. Transfer all of your contacts to the Sony Experia's internal storage. It will create a vCard file.
    2. Connect your Sony Experia to a pc
    3. Ensure that you can see the Sony Experia's internal storage files, and identify the location of the vCard file (for me it was in system/PIM)
    4. Set up an email account on your iPhone
    5. Email the vCard file to the email account on your iPhone
    6. Open the vCard file attachment on your iPhone
    7. You should now see your contacts and automatically have the option (in the same screen) to 'Add all xxx Contacts' where xxx is the number of contacts in the vCard file
    Hope that helps.
