  • Get error -69 when syncing iPod to Itunes

I just bought a new Ipod Nano (used to have an mini). I tried syncing it to my existing Itunes library but it said I had to upgrade to 7.0. So I did, and now when I try to sync it it doesn't copy it just gives me a -69 error "attempting to copy to the disk "Jo's Ipod" failed. An unknown error occured.
Im not sure if the problem is the new ipod, or the upgrade to the later Itunes...help. I was so excited about getting my new one and now it doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance.

  • What is "Other" when syncing iPod in iTunes

I've been having issues syncing my iPod with my system for a few days now and while syncing I clicked on my iPod and got the follwoing screen:
    http://homepage.mac.com/techd2/iTunes.png
What exactly is "other" ? I figure it's temp files because it grows and shrinks while I'm syncing. I noticed it was over a gig when it stopped syncing my movies then when I deselected the movies it dropped down to the size it is now.

Hi Tech-D, sorry you're still having troubles man. I believe, not exactly sure, that other things like fragmentation is included in the "Other". Although, a fresh restore is supposed to take care of fragmentation. I don't believe you should even get fragmentation on your iPod unless you unplug your iPod from the usb without first ejecting it. If you have windows, you even have to go a step further and choose "Safely unplug usb device", or something like that. There would be an icon in your Systems Tray that looked like a little wafer with a green arrow on top of it. You would right click on that and choose to safely unplug. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help.

  • When syncing Ipod to itunes some of the albums pull music from other albums and place the songs in an album that doesn't relate or of the same artist. I have reloaded the ipod twice with the same affect. Any ideas??

I appreciate any help on this..very frustrating listening to Led Zep album and another groups song is listed in the album. If I look at the album in itunes all albums look perfectly correct.

ATA bus error means that data corruption occurred during transmission over ATA bus (SATA or PATA). This type of errors can be indicated by
ICRC or ABRT error as described in the section called “ATA/ATAPI device error (non-NCQ / non-CHECK CONDITION)”.
Controller-specific error completion with error information indicating transmission error.
On some controllers, command timeout. In this case, there may be a mechanism to determine that the timeout is due to transmission error.
Unknown/random errors, timeouts and all sorts of weirdities.
As described above, transmission errors can cause wide variety of symptoms ranging from device ICRC error to random device lockup, and, for many cases, there is no way to tell if an error condition is due to transmission error or not; therefore, it's necessary to employ some kind of heuristic when dealing with errors and timeouts. For example, encountering repetitive ABRT errors for known supported command is likely to indicate ATA bus error.
Once it's determined that ATA bus errors have possibly occurred, lowering ATA bus transmission speed is one of actions which may alleviate the problem.
I'd also add; make sure you have good backups when ATA errors are frequent

  • ITunes displays -48 error message when syncing iPod Nano on Windows XP

My girlfriend's mom's iPod Nano ran out of charge while jogging so she decided to charge it on her daughter's iHome. The next day she went to use her iPod but it was totally empty of all music and files. When she tried to sync it to iTunes, she received an eror message stating, "An unknown error has occurred (-48)" from iTunes and a Windows message stating that some iPod folder/file was corrupted.
If anyone receives such a message, I was able to correct it by:
-Plugging in your iPod to your PC
    -Ignore the error messages
    -Go to My Computer
-Find your iPod's drive letter (ie. G:)
-Right-click on it and select Properties
-Go to Tools Tab >Error-checking and select Check Now
You should be able to sync your iPod as before. I do not claim to be an expert so be warned that it may not work for you. Good luck!

  • IPod Error message when Sync'ing using itunes

Every time I use itunes to sync my music onto my 5th generation iPod it does about... 50 files then i get the error message:
'attempting to copy to the disk "DARROL'S iPOD" failed because the disk could not be read or written to'
A few times i've managed to get all the music onto it but mostly I get that error message. I've done a full restore on the iPod twice but it still happens.
I resorted to using the Winamp plugin to transfer the music and that seems to work a lot better but it doesn't seem to give album art, would like to use iTunes to do it, any help would be good.

  • Can no longer sync Ipod to Itunes after upgrading to Itunes 7

I can no longer sync Ipod to Itunes since upgrading to Itunes 7. When I try it freezes my Itunes and I have to force quit the application. Anyone else know how to solve this? Anyone else having this problem?

I have the 3rd generation IPod and I thought it happened when I dropped it, but after thinking about it it did happen the same time I switched to itunes v7.

  • HT1369 when syncing ipod, receiving blue screen error WDF_Violation

When syncing ipod, receiving blue screen error WDF_Violation

I am having a similar problem. I have an iPod Classic 80Gb with a brand new computer using iTunes11 on Windows 8.
iTunes sees the iPod on the Sidebar, but when I try to sync or change any settings, roughly half the time it will crash my windows and cite a WDF Violation error. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Regardless, even if it doesn't crash, it won't sync. It gets as far as "Starting Sync" and then it just stops.
I have verified that the iPod still syncs fine on my old xp machine, and I have tried the following, all to no avail.
    Enabling Disk use
Converting higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC
Deleting and reinstalling the iPod's drivers through device manger
Running iTunes in XP SP3 compatibility mode
    Running iTunes as Administrator
At one point, with disk use enabled and 128 kbps bit rate selected, I managed to get it to prompt me to Erase and Sync. it went on to erase everything on the iPod, but would not load any of my media back up. Subsequent attempts to sync gave the same result.
I had a look at the link above, but it's a brand new computer and I installed and updated everything myself to the latest version, except my Wacom tablet, which was acting funny with the latest driver, but it can't be that because the original driver from the install CD I reverted too has workd fine in conjunction with iTunes and this same iPod for years on my other machine.
I am getting extremly frustrated with this. Someone please help make it better !?!

  • Unknown error when syncing iPod

I've been trying to sync my iPod to iTunes but this error comes up.
+"Attempting to copy to the disk "LILY'S IPOD" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)."+
I've tried restoring and it has restored the iPod just fine, but once I connect it to try and sync it again the above error comes up. I've restarted my computer, I've searched for iPod updates. I was using iTunes version 8.0.0.35 and installed 8.0.1.11 and I still get the error.
    Can anyone help me? Thanks

Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up on new computer, only songs which tansferred were songs bought on new computer after set up, tried to sync songs and it deleted old songs from ipod.  How can I get them back on ipod??  They are showing in music library on itunes still.

If the iPod database gets corrupted, it will add files to "Other" instead of where they really belong.
Restoring the iPod will erase this database and recreate it.
And if I do this, won't I just have the same issue when my iPod is re-updated to the most recent version again?
No, it shouldn't. This is why you Restore the iPod. It erases the corrupt database.
