Contacts transfer from Centro to Pre Plus

I have downloaded ECho 3.0 to my PC, but have not switched phones yet until I get some advice. Should I transfer my contacts to my Sim Card before I switch it into my Pre Plus? I want to basically put all my info from Centro to Pre Plus and continue to use DeskTop Plus. Anyone?

why didn't my contacts transfer from my iphone 4 to my iphone 5?

I've tried both - my 4 was synched both ways.  My 4 (which still has its SIM card, but no service) still has all my contacts, but I must not be "checking" the correct options when I try to sync my 5... any thoughts?

  • Temporary Switch from Broken Palm Pre Plus

I currently have a Palm Pre Plus with and Unlimited Data plan. I can no longer use it due to various damage, and rather than shill out $100 to the Asurion insurance I have on it, a friend gave me their Motorola Devour they no longer use. I was hoping to temporarily transfer my service over to the Devour until I can get my upgrade in January, but when I try to do it online, it tells me I must buy a tiered plan. This should not be true because I am switching from smartphone to smartphone. Is their a way to do this so that I keep my grandfathered plan?

Call in to Customer Service from another phone and have them assist you with the swap.  The different types of smartphones have different data plans on Verizon's back-end, so the rep should be able to help you.

  • Memos from Centro to Pre

I've got around 400 memos on my Centro, mostly bids for contracts, that don't seem to be importing into the Pre memo app. How can I get my memos onto my new phone?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

Google currently does not support memos to the Palm Pre or Pre Plus. You would have to use the DTA utility to move your memos to the Palm profile for backup. You can get the DTA utility here:
     http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/pre/migration/dta_windows.html
Just follow the steps on this site to migrate your memos to the Palm profile instead of Google as you did in the past.

  • Contact transfer from Sony K750i to Nokia 5310

    Dear All,
Can anyone guide me to transfer my phone Contacts from Sony K750i to Nokia 5310.
i've tried but swetted out in transfering one by one thru bluetooth.
    -Parth

    Dear friend!
Its very easy to transfer contact from k750i to nokia mobile as i recently have transfered my contacts from k750i to nokia 5800XM.
    1. First of all, get backup of your k750i contacts in Microsoft Outlook using SonyEricson PC suite  (if you are using MS Outlook then use some other application that can store contacts on you PC).
    2. After completing the above step, use Nokia Ovi Suite to synchronise stored contacts (on PC) with your nokia device.
    Thants All and Enjoy.

  • Contact Transfer from BB to Iphone

    Hi!
I just got an iphone and i want to transfer my bb contacts to it...

If your Blackberry saves its contacts in a SIM, you may be able to insert that SIM in your iPhone and import the contacts. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4994
If not, then you'll need to get the contacts from the Blackberry to your computer or a address book service such as Google, from which you can then sync them to your iPhone. For syncing from your computer, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386

  • Any way to tranfer contact information from a Palm Pre with a broken touch screen?

My beloved Palm Pre died last Friday with the touch screen failing.  It simply stopped responding to inputs.   I am able to unlock the phone and enter some commands from the slide out keypad, but I can't do much.  For example, I can type in "contacts" under just-type and then hit enter and it will take me to the contacts screen.  However, at that point I can't navigate around or open any contacts.   Other commands don't respond to the slide out keypad, such as the "USB Drive" prompt when I plug the phone into my laptop.
I have several contacts saved on the phone (and some on the SIM) that I can no longer access.  Most were backed up to my Outlook contacts but many are not.   Does anyone have any ideas about how I can move these to an alternate source (Outlook, Google, Desktop, etc) where I can then recover them.   I'm open to any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Crash.

There are several methods to export Palm Profile contacts such as:
    http://www.webosnation.com/how-to-export-and-move-your-contacts-patch
    and
    http://www.webosnation.com/how-to-export-your-webos-contacts-csv
but they all require a device with a responsive touchscreen. I am unaware of any way to access your webOS Profile data from HP's backup servers directly, without a device.
So...if you either know someone with a webOS device you could borrow, or find an inexpensive used one (eg eBay...or if you could use Verizon, get a no-contract Pre 2 from BestBuy for a mere $45!!!), and if you had Backup turned on, you should be able to restore them all by signing into your account on a replacement webOS device.

  • Contact transfer from Mac OS X to Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

    Please can anybody help...!!!!!
I urgently need to transfer my contacts from my Mac OS X to Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic mobile but cannot find a way to do it.
This is needed as Apple does not allow the transfer of contacts via Bluetooth Interface from my iPhone 4S to the Mercedes-Benz car COMAND'S APS.

I wrot eto Nokia customer care and this is their reply, for what it's worth:
Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.
In addressing your query, please note that the iSync application that is available for several Nokia phones allows data to be synchronised between a compatible Nokia phone and Macintosh system. However, this application is developed by Apple and not by Nokia. For more information on this application, you may visit the following website:
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and-software/download-software/isync
However, please note that these plug-ins actually come from Apple themselves as it is developed by them and not by Nokia. Hence, I am sorry to say that we will not be able to foretell when it will be available for download for your phone model. Therefore, if you require further details on the availability, the compatibility and the functionality of this application with your phone, please refer to Apple who is the manufacturer for Mac. The contact details of Macintosh are available through the following link:

  • Only a few of my contacts transfer from pc to ipod via itunes

    Hey,
Suddenly when I do the ipod sync I only get about 20 contacts, out of about 1000. All the contacts are present in the windows address book. The only thing I am doing differently is using Zindus which syncs all my pc's (Thunderbird) address books and google contacts. I then manually export the Thunderbird addr. book as an .ldif and import that into the windows addr. book, prior to doing an ipod sync. The problem started after I started using Zindus. They are trying to help resolve it, but since all the contacts look fine and all pc's, google, and in the win addr. book, it seems like either the file is corrupted and itunes can't process it or ? Have looked at the .ldif file and it looks ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Any ideas what's happened?? and how to fix it? By the way the windows address book looks ok,
i.e. has all the contacts in it.

In iTunes I clicked on iPad, then 'photos'. I scrolled down the entry "copy photos from", unticked the folder concerned, then clicked 'sync'. It worked away for a few seconds but nothing was deleted!!
That sounds right. If you're positive pics aren't deleted, there could be something wrong with iTunes. I'm using the same version (64-bit 12.1.1.4). Although iTunes runs fine on my Win 7, I can't sync some random photos. iTunes sync completes successfully but a few photos that I choose to sync never get synced to the device.
You can try deleting iTunes cache (should be in the same folder where you pics are stored) and resync.

  • I just bought an iMac, trying to transfer from my ibook pre intel 10.5.8 - how can i access my excel, word and other old apps?

I bought a new IMac and a new TIme Capsule. The old compter - pre Intel Ibook running 10.5.8 is in the process of backing up. I transfered my apps and find I cannot acces any of my MS Office data, or my Quicken. Lots of stuff I really need there. Gotta be a way to use my old apps, all this data can't just be gone. HELP!

all this data can't just be gone
The data should be fine. But you will need to upgrade the Apps to open the files. For example, MS Office 2004 does not run in the newer OS. You will need to upgrade to MS Office 2008, or later version. The new version will open the older files.
This is true for many Apps. This site has a compatibility table:

  • Pre Plus was all and more...

I have wanted a Pre since I saw it from Sprint. I even considered canceling one of our lines, letting another family member have mine so that I could go to Sprint.
So, when I heard that Verizon was going to be getting it, I was thrilled. I always look into customer product reviews before I get anything. And, I was really surprised to see all the negative ones. It made me a little apprehensive.
When our account was still Alltel, I had bought my very first smartphone, a Motorola Q10. I loved it. But, when the official change to Verizon happened...it didn't work properly anymore. Verizon replaced it, but as we all know-you get the phone one step below. I ended up with an HTC Ozone. Hated every minute of it. I would lose text messages that were saved if the phone got "confused", pictures would go **bleep**...there was even one night I was talking to a friend through text....everyone in my contacts that had a smartphone got all the messages! The other day, I had it plugged in for charging...it caught on fire! I had always heard that cell phones could do. But, I have never seen it, or had met anyone that it happened to.
I got online, and got myself a Palm Pre Plus. Hoping against hope that all the negative reviews were just from Verizon haters who would let it be known to all who asked, and didn't, that the phone sucked. (Not being a big Verizon fan because of all the crap that happened with the Alltel buy-out...I normally made my presence known at the store!)
I knew the battery wouldn't last long...it doesn't. LoL! But, other than that....I am so in love with this phone. I think it's a phone that comes from a company that takes pride in giving consumers the best they have to offer. And they make them to stand the time. I have several chronic medical conditions. Epilepsy, fibro, and Celiac. One thing that I love about Palm is that they joined up with Celiac.com to have an app that translates what Celiac is, and what kinds of food I HAVE to avoid to keep my body from attacking itself. Considering most people don't know what Celiac is, I was EXTREMELY surprised and happy to see that.
I was a little worried with the touch screen, because I have heard that a lot of touch screens can get cracked or messed up easy...and leaves you with a phone that won't work properly.  But, after getting the phone, it took me all of 20 minutes to realize that a touch screen was just what I needed. Because of my medical conditions, I have slight tremors-some from meds, others because of the actual condition itself. Since me hands don't always stay steady enough to work a keyboard for every action that I do, I was limited in my use of previous phones. Having the majority of the uses on this phone controlled by touch screen has made all the difference in the world!
I am so thankful that I didn't let the negative reviews keep me from getting the Pre Plus. I would highly recommend it to anyone who asks. I would also recommend that they get a second battery. LoL!

Great review.  Coming from an active iPhone user who has experienced some less than satisfying alternatives  to the iPhone, I think you are right-on regarding the Pre Plus.  In fact, I am in the process of switching from Storm to a Pre Plus in the next couple of days.
Hold off for a while, Pickup the Pre2, Better Hardware, 1ghz and glass screen, but same form factor.

  • Pre Plus won't sync more than latest 3 months from Google Calendar. Need help.

[previously posted in WebOS Software section, but I now think that might have been the wrong place; only one reply; no answers]
I was a very happy owner of my new Pre Plus until I tried to sync my multi-year Google Calendar to my PP, when only the last three months of my GC data would sync to my PP.
Some higher level Palm techs and I spent quite a lot of time on the phone, trouble shooting and testing. Ulltimately, we were unable to solve the problem. The last tech I spoke with acknowledged that currently there are performance problems with the PP if a lot of GC data is downloaded.  Apparently Palm has decided (for now) to prevent us new PP owners from choking our PP's performance by limiting our initial downloads to only the most recent three months of GC data. I was told that Palm is working on this problem and it probably would be fixed with the next update.
I've searched the forum and didn't see any other mention of this problem.  Any one else experiencing this problem?
*** My questions:  Can someone at Palm tell me (1) Is this is a problem that is being worked on by Palm/Verizon?  (2) If so, should be fixed soon? (I only have about 10 days left in my 30 day trial of the PP at Verizon. If I can't have all of my GC data on my phone I will have to turn it back in before the trial period ends.)  (3) Can you suggest some other trouble shooting I could try? (4) Can you suggest a workaround?
(I can provide a somewhat comprehensive list of the trouble shooting already tried and my Service Request Number, if needed.)

The time period for syncing calendar events is a setting.
Go into Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Scroll down to you get to Calendars.  Where it says Sync, you have an option to change how long you want to sync.
The Default is Events 1 Month Back, but you can choose All Events.

  • Pre Plus contact list/category concern

I've a couple hundred contacts from my old Treo 755P. Here's my problem/example... Lack of categories. I need to find my mother's rarley used neurologist, can't remember his name. What to do? Scroll through 200+ contacts and hope I recognize a name or go to (old Palm) category "Mom's MDS" and choose from a list of a half dozen.
My Pre Plus work around is to make my own category list by putting "Mom's MDs" in the "company" section of the contacts, keeps all her MDs in one place. Still, if my "caterory" is at the bottom of a bunch of categories, I have to scroll all the way down the list to get there.
The omission of categories is a step backwards from Garnet. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Chuck.
