Contacts won't sync in outlook 2010

I am trying to sync an iphone4 with outlook 2010 through itunes.
Sync is enabled for contacts, calendars and notes, through outlook.
I have selected merge for content when I first clicked apply and I have selected none of the replace options, as all the contacts currently reside on the iphone and not on outlook and I would like them to be first transfered from the phone.
I have also made sure that the itunes add-in is enabled in outlook, and that no other add-ins are enabled.
When I click on Sync, I do not get any errors however no contacts/calendars are being transfered over
It doesn't really seem to be trying to sync them as normally first sync of contacts takes a long while (I have A LOT of contacts).
Notes on the other hand seem to have synced fine.
I've tried almost everything I could find on this forum/around the web to get this working so I would really appreciate any further help or suggestions, it is driving me completely insane

Try checking to see if you are inadvertently syncing elsewhere -- this just got me recently.  Many mail services (Yahoo in my case) now offer contacts, calendar, and notes in addition to email.  If you opted for all those services when you connected your iPhone to your mail provider you could be syncing to that contacts list, while syncing your calendar to your Outlook.  Best place to look would be in settings to see if you selected the address book.  Also you canh try this test:  Create a bogus contact on your iPhone and then go into webmail on your computer and see if it's landing in that address book.  I had tyhis kind of situation for a while and it was driving me absolutely crazy until I figured out why the sync seemed to be partial.  Good Luck!

  • IPhone contacts won't sync with Outlook

I am trying to sync my iPhone contacts with my Outlook contacts but they won't sync. In iTunes I checked "Sync Contacts with Outlook" but nothing happens.

Check your contacts in Outlook and make sure they belong to iCloud and not My Contacts or another account such as Gmail, Yahoo or Exchange.  Only iCloud contacts will sync with your devices.

  • IPhone 4S loses contact details upon sync w/ Outlook 2010

I have a user running Outlook 2010 on Win7x64. They tried syncing their contacts with Outlook via iTunes, and chose to merge contacts between the two devices. Both PC and phone have the same list of contacts, but the contact details (phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc) have been stripped - just the names remain. Any ideas?

Wish someone would solve this delima. I have over 1000 contacts in phone and the phone numbers will not sync into Outlook2010, Window7 Premier, but I get multiple names with each attempt to sync. Very frustrating.

  • Iphone contacts won't sync with outlook 2007

    Hi,
Been banging my head against this for the last few hours and haven't found an answer in any searches of past posts,
I have it set up in itunes to sync with outloo, but when i load outlook up theres nothing there in the contacts.
Any help would be great thanks

    Check to make sure the Outlook plugins are installed and active;
    Start Outlook >
    Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins
    You'll need to see 2 add-ins; :
"iTunes Outlook Addin" and "Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service", both under the Active Applications Addin heading.
If either is missing, then do a repair install of Microsoft Outlook/Office and/or a repair install of iTunes. To do the former, go to Programs (and Features) in the control panel, find Office/Outlook, highlight it and then click on change at the top. You may need the original install CD and you will need to restart your PC. You will NOT lose any data or settings with a repair install. iTunes is the same procedure, except you click on Repair, rather than change.
    Good Luck!

  • New contacts created on iphone 4s will not sync to outlook 2010

all my updates are installed. but the contacts I create on the 4S will not sync to outlook 2010. anyone knows how to solve this?

You need to restore the backup of your old hard drive to the new one. The iPhone is not a backup device, and syncing iTunes content is one way, from computer to iPhone. If you don't have a backup there is an alternative process that can get most of the data off of your iPhone, but it is complicated and cumbersome. • TungstenE won't sync to Outlook 2003 since receiving new laptop

My previous laptop died so my IT dept moved my data to a new laptop.  Our programs and data are stored on separate drives.  The Palm software & data was stored on the program drive, so I lost everything related to my Palm.  I reinstalled Hotsync Manager from the original CD but it won't sync with Outlook.  I have also upgraded to v4.1.4 but that didn't help.  I have also looked for the Outlook Conduits by clicking on the Hotsync > Custom in the Palm Desktop program.  I don't see any Outlook Conduits listed.  When I run the Hotsync Manager, the Palm Desktop and PDA will sync but there are appointments that were stored in my Outlook pst file that need to be in sync with the PDA.
New operating system is Win XP Pro

    Ok.
You did not see the PIM conduit sync in start-programs-palm-PIM conduit sync? It should be there. I provided the path in the previous post.
Regarding your device locking up, have you installed any 3rd party programs. They can cause corruption if not compatible.
Another cause of locking up can be corrupted data.
Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.
    http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm
To install the program, set all conduits to "do nothing" except quick install or install if using Palm desktop 6.2.
After you install the program on the handheld, run the scan and also scan for Blobs in the calendar.
After you clean-up the database on the handheld, set the conduits in hotsync to handheld overwrites desktop and perform a hotsync.
Another cause of problems can be the following:
Are you sync'ing the E to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older Palm device?
If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
    If this is the case,
    You may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
    XP
C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Vista
Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
tasks, and memos will come back over.
Show file extensions for XP or Vista
    XP
If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    Vista
Open control Panel go to Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.

  • IPhone 4 (iOS5) not syncing with outlook 2010 calendar

    Hi Guys,
My iPhone 4 has been working great for the last few months up until recently.  I have been able to sync with outlook 2010 for both my contacts and calendar using iTunes sync in the past with no problems..  I went to conference last week and got back in the office sync’d yesterday.  Things are not right. My contacts sync, but calendar does not sync either way (phone to PC - PC to phone).  I upgraded to iOS5 and reloaded iTunes and I'm having the same problem.  I also noticed that my sync is taking much, much longer (like there is a conflict somewhere.)   The contacts still sync, but no new/changed calendar entries.  Anyone have this problem and have any ideas how do I can fix it?  Is it a simple setting switch on the iPhone or iTunes?  It's getting very frustrating!!  One of my office mates has been taunting me with his android phone and I’m starting to feel like I might have to do something drastic to get my calendar back on my phone…
Outlook version is MS Pro Plus 2010 - 14.0.5128.5000 (64-bit)
    iTunes version is 10.5.0.142
    iPhone version is 5.0 (9A334)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, man. Sorry I have no solution, but it may not hurt to know you are not the only one.
I uprgraded a 3GS to iOS 5, set it up to sync with iCloud initially, and then switched back to sync with PC as before. It seems that my calendar was syncing at first, but within a few days it just stopped.
I also recall a ton of weird "sync conflicts" that I had to resolve, even though the iTunes conflict reslover showed information that was identical in Outlook and iPhone calendar.
Notes and contacts sync just fine with Outlook 2003 under Windows Vista for me, but calendar will not sync at all any more, either direction.
I have tried most of the suggestions, including restoring iPhone and creating a whole new user account in Windows and tried syncing iPhone and Outlook via iTunes that way (and both USB and wifi). I did not seem to have any better success.
This is a disaster. So far I have just been using Notes to MANUALLY sync calendar info between devices.
I have never given nearly as much thought to Android as I have lately.
It may be time to call Apple Support, but my previous experiences with them (and the "Geniuses" at the store) were underwhelming.

  • Calendar & contacts won't sync

I have a centro and have my personal mail with hotmail.  I tried to also have my work email through outlook downloaded as well.  After messing around with the outlook sync I was able to sync to outlook, but only my calendar and my contacts, no email sync'd.  Which I didn't want to merge, I wanted to keep my palm desktop (personal) and outlook (business) seperate.  I then deleted the outlook email and now my calendar and contacts won't sync with either outlook or palm desktop.  All I want is to be able to sync with my palm desktop again, that's it.
    Thanks

  • I cannot get my iphone 4 to sync to Outlook 2010 since iOS6

Evidently something has changed since I upgraded to iOS6. My calendar items do not sync with Outlook 2010. I need some help figuring this one out.

No error messages, but I did figure out the solution. Since iOS6 relies on the iCloud for data backup, the default calendar was set to iCloud. I went into settings and made the following change:
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars> scrolled down to Calendars and set the Default Calendar to  Calendar "From My PC"
I had been able to put anything on my calendar in Outlook 2010 and it would show up on my phone during a sync, but had not been a two way street.
Now data flows to both the phone and outlook regardless of where it is entered. So its all fixed now. No software reinstalls. Yea!

  • Exporting Palm Tungsten E2 contacts and Calendar to Microsoft Outlook 2010

How do I export Palm Tungsten E2 contacts and Calendar to Microsoft Outlook 2010.  The normal suggested  methods do not seem to work.  I have part of the contact list in the Address Book area of Outlook, but have been unable to open the window.
I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

If you sync with Palm Desktop, you should be able to do it directly on your computer:
Start Button > All Programs > Palm > PIM Conduit Sync > Sync with Outlook
On my Windows 8 installation, when I have the Start screen show all programs, there is an icon for Sync with Outlook.  I haven't tried it, because I don't like Outlook.
    Hope this helps.

  • I can't sync my outlook 2010 with my ipad

I can't sync my outlook 2010 contacts or calendar because it is not an option I can choose in the information tab on the ipad.  It only offers me windows mail which I don't use.

Did you create the calendars in Outlook?  Are you getting appointments from the default calendar (set on your phone)?  Instead of checking "all calendars" in iTunes, select each calendar individually.
This is sometimes due to a problem with a repeating item in your calendar.  Outlook and iTunes do not play nice together.  Any time I change one instance of a repeating appointment, which is always done on my phone, it makes Outlook act up.  For the time being, I've given up.  Just too much time wasted trying to debug, and I have to constantly make chages to repeating appointments due to the nature of my business.  I'm looking for alternatives.
