Contant server (Windows & Apache)
Hello
I've been facing many problems with SAP content server since few months. I have to restart IIS on server side every day couple of times because of HTTP error 500 I got on SAP side.
It's deicided to move to linux (DB and content server) but as a temporary solution we want to use Apache that is running on our other linux box and database from original Windows machine?
Does anybody knows how to configure such combination (DB on windows and Apache on linux)??
Where to put in windows that it should use Apache instead of IIS??
thanks in advance for advises...
Michal
hi,
Install the Apache web server 2.0.52 on your linux. Then by using correct content server CD for Apache-linux install content server for linux - maxdb 7.6.
In your windows server create content repositories and activate it. The sap db connects thru http web protocol to your apache web server - CS.
(For IIS server check the services are started properly and verify that from users machine users are able to connect to IIS.)

How to install Oracle 9i EE on a clustered server (Windows 2000)
I need to install Oracle 9i on Clustered server (Windows 2000 Server)with Oracle Fail safe. There are 2 Nodes and one Clustered disk with RAID 5.
The documentation from Oracle is NOT very helpful as it does not specify the installation of Oracle DB on the 2 nodes.Where will the control files reside etc for each node.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated
Thanks
MasihHi,
reply to my own question:
In the docs provided with the downloads for Oracle Database Server 9i x64, I found that this version requires either
- Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition for 64-Bit Itanium 2 Systems
or
- Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition for 64-Bit Itanium 2 Systems
So I guess, the only X64 platform being supported under Windows Server 2003 (both Datacenter / Enterprise Editions) is Itanium CPUs ...
... though this is not (!!!) clearly stated in the download link (other/newer versions are listed more precisely - I guess it's a matter of an old link: no Intel Xeon / AMD Opterons were available (???) when Oracle 9i database server was published).
So I'll give it a try with 10g database server ;-)))

Hi
I have tried to research these problems I am getting, but have not been able to resolve them.
1st is the above DDE Server Windows iTunes.exe - entry point not found.
This only occurs when I try to start iTunes.
if I click ok , several times, iTunes will start but slowly.
If at any time I have to reboot my computer I get
iTunesHelper.exe - the procedure entry point asl_add_log_file could not be located in the dynamic link library ASL.dll
if I click 3 times OK it goes away.
To this end I have uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my machine then gone to iTunes web site and downloaded the latest version.
Installing it but still get the same errors on reboot and trying to run iTunes
Anyone any ideas please.
I have a self build PC it has an Intel core 2 quad Q6000 @ 2.40GHz
Ram 4.00GB
32bit OS
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
Firewall - Zonealarm
Virus - Zonealarm
Thanks in advance

Message was edited by: YbslikTaken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

Whether Oracle 8.1.6 Supports Windows 2003 Server/Windows 2000 Adv. Server
Dear All,
Whether Oracle 8.1.6 Supports Windows 2003 Server/Windows 2000 Adv. Server.
I tried it in windows 2003 server but i couldn't. Atlease tell me wheather it support windows 2000 adv. server. This is my first dba job.
Under Doc ID: 66397.1 saying Oracle 8.1.6 Not Support Windows NT Server 4.0 Terminal Server Edition.
Under Doc ID: 77627.1 saying Oracle 8.1.6 Supports Windows 2000 Support.
Please help me out urgently.Since you have access to Metalink, you could be looking at the Certify tab to find this information. But, the answer is that 8.1.6 is no longer supported by Oracle. However, you should be able to install it on Win 2000 advanced server. You just can't get any support for it.
The earliest version of db supported on Win 2003 was either 9.0 or 9.2, but 9.0 is desupported now as well. -
SQL Server Windows NT - 64 Bit in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
Hi,
We have started migrating our SQL Server 2005 version and Operating System 2003 to SQL Server 2012 and operating system 2012 R2 Standard.
Before we restore the production database, we had created an empty database and tables. We ran couple of packages which were migrated to SSIS 2012 version from SSIS 2005 and those were working fine and we saw good performance compare to production server.
Recently we have taken 2005 SQL Server database backup and restored on 2012 version. Since then we are facing performance issues on 2012 server. Below is the configuration of 2012 server
Intel(R) Xenon(R) CPU E5-2650 v2 @2.60 GHZ 2.60 GHZ (2 processors), RAM - 32 GM and 64-Bit Operating System.
We are using this server only for data loading from SSIS packages. We have set that this server to use MAX memory is 25 GB RAM. We have checked the memory usage of the server and seen SQL Server Windows NT - 64 bit process is taking total memory allotted
and also taking 100% CPU utilization.
Old Server Configuration is
Intel(R) Xenon(TM) MP CPU 3.66 GHZ, RAM - 8 GB and 32-Bit Operating System
Could you please let us know what was causing for the high memory utilization on our migration server and make the server for better performance?
Attached the image of memory utilization.Hello,
I would start by setting maxdop (max degree of parallelism) properly:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlsakthi/p/maxdop-calculator-sqlserver.aspx
Rebuilding indexes and statistics too.
Hope this helps.

How to label servers in the connect to server window
In the connect to server window... is there a way to label the servers other then the I.P.s? I have numerious computers I connect with and it get's a little hard knowing what is what. I know about the history drop down that gives the computer name, I was wondering about the main window.
ThanksThough you reposted this topic in the Swing forum as
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=218408&forum=57&message=760200
it will be difficult to handle it in one of those forums.
I suggest to split your question into 2, a JDBC related one and a Swing related one, and post each of them in the appropiate forum.
For the JDBC part of your question:
What means: save file in the database?
A file is a set of data - is your problem any different from saving data from an array or String variable or other data? -
File Sharing Speed with Leopard Server/ Windows XP
Went from Panther Server to Leopard Server. Panther worked fine. Leopard Server we've had a lot of problems with Windows XP clients. We run data files from the server. Using Panther the file sharing speed was comparable to putting the data file on the PC itself. When we moved to Leopard the speed went through the floor. 8 seconds on the PC and 4.5 minutes on the Server. The server is a substantially stronger machine with a lot more resources - but we've had to stop using it for it's intended purpose.
Help?Same problem but almost the reverse. 10.5.2 server, windows clients file browsing, opening and saving speed is great, but our 4 iMac clients (Leopard also) really, really slow to generate thumbnail views of files and open them. Happens across several shares, seems to be a problem with AFP, although now after disabling AFP on some of the shares, it is happening on SMB as well. I have read several other discussions on this forum that attempt to deal with AFP performance issues, but none provide a real solution. Now that it is also happening with the SMB protocol as well I am getting a bit concerned.
Any advice or even a link to more info would be greatly appreciated. -
Officejet pro 8600 installation in server windows 2008
Hello,
Having a problem extracting the 64bit driver provided by HP on our server 2008 R2 standard x64.
Tried the command line execution as well, but no joy. Error page pops up saying it's the wrong
OS or something like that. Have confirmed driver and OS match, but still fails.
Also contacted HP but that turned into a trainwreck as usual. Do they really think non english
speaking people can really assist in this stuff.....Super frustration.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This question was solved.

SQL not showing in Embedded OC4J Server window
Previously, when we'd run a page through JDeveloper, the sql statements that were used to execute the query would appear in the Embedded OC4J Server window in JDeveloper. Now they no longer appear (along with a lot of other logging data that used to appear). Is there a configuration setting somewhere to make this info appear again?
There is no such setting for OC4J log. Are you sure that you are looking at the right tab because there are generally 3 tabs on the bottom most log window which are Messages, Compiler and Embedded OC4J Server.

SQL Server Windows NT - 64 Bit RAM Consumption
Hi,
I'm using SQL Server Express 2012. I have database with 200 Mb actually.
So, I want to know If is it normal
if the process (app) 'SQL Server Windows NT - 64 Bit' use 400 MB from Ram (at all) and CPU up to 46% some times ?
If my Server receive DDOS Attak on the TCP port of database ? How can I detect ? How can I solve it.
ThanksHi nadjibnet,
SQL Server Windows NT -64 Bit is known as sqlservr.exe process, it is normal that SQL Server consumes as much memory as possible since SQL Server likes to cache data in memory to speed up access. You might have long running queries on SQL Server. Do you
find any performance issues?
If SQL Server is not installed on a dedicate production machine and you have other applications on the machine, you could limit the memory usage by
configuring Max Server Memory according to your situation.
In addition, about how to detect DDOS attack and block it, you could refer to the following article:
https://sulich.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/detecting-ddos-attack-in-windows/. I suggest you to post the questions in the
Windows Server forums. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.

Create dblink in Oracle/Linux (RHEL4) to MS SQL Server/Windows?
Hi,
Can anyone share me the procedure to Create dblink in Oracle/Linux (RHEL4) to MS SQL Server/Windows?
ThanksHi,
to access non-Oracle systems you must use Oracle Heterogeneous Services.
You have to follow the instructions from Heterogeneous Connectivity Administrator's Guide to perform it.

Redhat server/windows client
Hi,
I have installed oracle 9ir2 on redhat 8 and have installed Oracle 9ir2 client on windows 2000 I have started the TNS listener on the server but when i try to configure the client and test the connection it cant connect
I could very well be missing something very obvious but if anyone has any pointers for having a linux server/windows client, i would be very greatful
Thanks
James NortonSince you said it may be something obvious:
From a command prompt try to ping your db hostname (ping myhost). If that fails, try it's ip address (ping ipaddress)
If neither work then you have a network problem.
If the ip address works but the hostname doesn't you need to (in order of preference)
1. add the host definition to both your local DNS and WINS servers; or
2. add the host and ip to the clients host.txt file; or
3. use the ip address instead of the host name in your connection definition.
If the hostname and IP address work, then your db connection is not defined properly. -
Sort the list of Favorite Servers, in the Connect to Server window?
Hello...
In 10.5 and 10.6, can I change the order of the Favorite Servers list in the Connect to Server window?
I see the data is stored as files in ~/Library/Favorites, but I'm not seeing where the Connect to Server window gets its sort order.
TIAGreg --
Guillaume is totally correct. The display order of enterprise templates is by the date they were created. I have tested this on a Project Server 2013 system that has the latest Cumulative Updates applied. The problem is that in the
Microsoft Project 2013 desktop application, Microsoft has ditched the Templates dialog we used to see and replaced it with a page in the Backstage. I am afraid that in doing so, they have eliminated the sorting capabilities that we found in earlier versions.
Out of curiosity, I have sent an e-mail to my MPV contacts within the Microsoft Project Server development team at Microsoft, asking if there is any intention of changing this functionality to allow for sorting by template name. If I get an answer,
I will post it in this user forum.
Your question is a good one, and the sorting problem (or lack of sorting) can be a real problem in any organization that has a sizable number of enterprise templates. Hope this additional bit helps.

SharePoint Designer 2013:
Designer is used to develop SharePoint pages using HTML/CSS/JS as well as SharePoint Designer Workflows
Yammer:

Windows Server is Windows, but the Server OS. SharePoint runs on top of supported Windows Servers editions (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx).
SharePoint Server is 64-bit only (trial:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973397.aspx), although Designer does have a 32-bit edition (full product:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35491).
You will need the capability to run 64bit VMs. Minimum recommended all-in-one VM for SharePoint is to allocate 24GB of RAM, but you can get away with as little as 12GB (I wouldn't go below that). Because of this, it generally rules out 32bit OSes as a virtual
machine host.
