Content assist tool doesn't work for me sometimes

When I'm practising the "Populating an ArrayCollection with retrieved data" exercise in day 2, and adding a result event in <s:HTTPService ...> MXML tag, I pressed the Ctrl + Spacebar, but no content assist appeared. It only displayed "no proposals". When I do the same thing in other tags, the content assist tool works fine. Could someone tell me why that happens? BTW, my flash builder version is the lastest version, that is 4.0.1.277662, and my OS is Window XP. Thanks in advance.

Eraser tool doesn't work for black layer mask

I am trying to set a black layer mask and use the eraser tool to edit it. Unfortunately the eraser tool is not responsive. I'm not knowingly doing anything differently than I've done in the past. I recently did a round of software updates for CS6. Wondering if anyone else is experienceing this and if there's a solution?

Check that foreground color in the toolbox is set to black. (opposite from when using the brush tool)
Press D and then the X key.
And that opacity and flow are 100%.
Most people use the brush tool on layer masks and you might find that works better.

Content Aware Fill doesn't work on large images

When stitching together a large panorama, the content aware tool doesn't work if the image is >30,000 pixels. When you use the tool on large images (after I have flattened the layers and using the magic wand to select a white area at the top), it runs through the process as if it is going to fill and then after the "fill" window completes, the selected area remains white.
I noticed on some other forum posts that jpg saving couldn't occur on >30,000 pixel width images, so I changed the image size to 29,999 (from ~39,000) and the content fill tool worked.
Any ideas from the community if Adobe has a fix for this bug?

I found that I could get around this problem by doing sections instead of a complete linear fill (when you do panoramas, you tend to have a long white area on the top and bottom of the image - this is what I have been working with).
The downside with working in sections is you get some pattern matching issues so you have to go and do spot work until it looks the way you want.
Another interesting artifact from doing long linear sections is you have an edge (a line) between the fill and the original image. To remove this, I zoom very close and use the lasso tool to select only that line. Using the content fill tool to fix this is a very easy, clean solution.

Certainly I realized that Apache Sling JCR Resource Resolver doesn't work for the anchor tags which is been rendered through jquery or javascript.
e.g.
In Felix Console , in Apache Sling JCR Resource Resolver configuration I have added following mapping.
/content/myproject/-/
So If any anchor tag is there like <a href="/content/myproject/en.html"> click me </a> then it will be mapped to "/en.html" automatically.
But the problem is there in following scenario.
I have an anchor tag as follows.
<a href="#" id="test"> click here </a>
And I am assigning the href to anchor through JQUERY.

$("#test").attr("href","/content/myproject/en.html");
</script>
Ideally this should have been mapped to "/en.html".
But it is not mapping to "/en.html". It still shows "/content/myproject/en.html".
How to resolve this.

In a servlet you have access to the resourceResolver so if you know which attributes contain links then it's relatively easy to apply resourceResolver.map to those links.
Your challenge is clearly how do you know which attributes are links and which aren't. Its is the same challenge that makes parsing the response and rewriting it on the way out difficult - the JSON doesn't have any semantic meaning so how do identify which attributes require rewriting. There really is no good answer ot that question in my experience - all the options have down sides.
Create some convention - all attributes matching this pattern X get mapped before being converted to JSON (could be attributes whose name ends in link, or it could a convention applied to the value of the attribute - if the attribute is a string that starts with /content apply the resource resolver mapping. In this case you have train your developers to follow this convention which is the down side.
Create some configurable list of attribute names that require mapping. This is brittle, requires training and is easy to break.
Implement a client side version of the resource resolver mapping. It wouldn't be as full proof as server side mapping (because that takes into account but you could make it work for simple logic like stripping of /content/site/en. If ou are just trying to solve the simple version of this issue - stripping off the top of the repository path this might be your best option.
Not worry about it and set up Apache 301 redirects that catch any long URLs and redirect them to short URLs (so configure apache to look for any URL matching /content/site/en and strip off /content/site/en and do a 301 redirect to the shortened URL. You end up with a lot of extra HTTP request because of all the 301s but it would work (I wouldn't recommend this option - but it is possible).

Elements 11. Resize image tool doesn't work. Tried online chat with Adobe - no help.

I recently got a new computer (pc) and decided to download Elements 11 instead of the old version that was on my old computer. I've discovered that the image resizing tool doesn't work, although the other functions seem to be working fine.
I tried an online chat with Adobe. Their suggestion was to buy another photo service from them for $10./month !!

Doesn't Search SWF and Magnify Tool doesn't work

I got the PDF to SWF thing down pat in Flashpaper. But It
doesn't search the text.
YES, the text is selectable, so why can't it search the text
of my swf. Also the Maginfying tool doesn't work in flashpaper.
I'm going to test a couple different things first such as
messing with the PDF in Acrobat Pro first to see if I need to do
something there in order to make the search function work.
I did notice there are barely any replies to this forum, but
GEE-WIZ guys somebody should answer some of these questions if you
know the answer.

I went back and checked out the Indesign file. Apparently
whoever made the catalog grouped alot of the text boxes. After I
ungrouped these I exported to PDF and opened it up to do a check.
Everything was searchable. There was something I toyed with in
Indesign referring to subfonts. However, when I convert it to an
swf using flashpaper it loses some of the searchable text. I got an
idea and printed to FP but instead of choosing FP once the window
came up I selected PDF. It is doing the same thing in the same
spots. Everything is selectable right now in the PDF I printed from
Indesign, I can even copy and paste the text perfectly into word.
There are no settings for FP so I am lost as to what to do from
here. I am using Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro, Indesign CS2 and FP 2
Any ideas?

Eyedropper tool doesn't work in Index Mode

When I am in Index mode, and I bring up the color table, the eyedropper tool doesn't work unless I right-click and choose one of the point sample averages. And even then, it doesn't always work unless I hit some combination of Shift-control-option-command. I'm still not sure what the combination is since it seems to differ a little depending on Photoshop's mood.
I can remember there was this problem a couple of versions back, and Adobe fixed it after about a year or so.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the temporary solution. The is the same bug was in CS3 then fixed ic CS4. Now it's back in CS5.
I've only had this bug with Macs not PCs. "YES IT'S A BUG!" Question: Is there anybody from Adobe who reads this? Can someone at adobe please tell us when this Mac bug will be fixed? For a premium product at such a price, Photoshop shouldn't have a bug like this. Adobe should be more responsive! Think of the difficulty people like me who write textbooks must have. To give one technique for a PC and then a workaround technique for a MAC. I implore anyone who is experiencing this problem to contact Adobe & let them know about it! PEN TOOL DOESN'T WORK ANY MORE after PS 2014.2 update!

I just downloaded the latest Photoshop update. Pretty slick......adjustable fonts in the dropdown menus again.....nice guide improvements. One little problem....THE PEN TOOL DOESN'T WORK ANY MORE. The program is totally useless. What the h%+l is wrong with adobe? At least I can still use Photoshop CC. Anyone got a fix for this?

I Created an adjustment (Curves) layer and did the curves adjustment. Then I did an Edit Fill (Normal Mode, 100% Opacity and Use: Black).
I then try to use the brush tool, but it doesn't work. I've done this hundreds of times before and suddenly it's not working. Rebooted the system, but that didn't help.
I know how to do a screen shot, but it doesn't paste onto this screen. How do I get that to you?

Your Library is damaged.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
As for goign back: do you have an undamaged library?

The Filter defined will only be run in the context that it is defined in. Since you are creating a new context, you will have to assign a new Filter. BTW, why not include the static content in the WAR with the dynamic stuff?

Application Restart and Recovery APIs doesn't work for windows services

I am using the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism (provided in Windows API Code Pack for Microsoft.NET Framework) to collect some information (i.e. stack information when there's an unhandledexception) before my windows service crash down.
It works well for windows form applications, but the callback method wouldn't be called if the host is a windows service.

But it doesn't specify clearly whether it works for a windows service. It seems that the recovery will only be activated when the user interacts with the error dialog of Windows Error Reporting (clicking "close" on the dialog, for example).
So I am wondering is my guess right that the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism doesn't work for windows services. Or is there a better way to meet my requirement?

I would suggest trying ARR if that's what you want to use. The restart portion won't work, but it doesn't need to as if you fail out of your service, the Windows service controller will handle recovery (up to and including restarting your service).
You configure those recovery actions either through code or one of the built in administrative tools for services such as services.msc.
DebugDiag/ADplus and similar tools ultimately do use built-in APIs; you don't need to add anything external to collect debugging information. You do however have to write a good deal of code to do somethings. It's pretty simple to use the unmanaged
function that I pointed out before and
MiniDumpWriteDump to write a minidump when you hit an unexpected error(the dbghelp.dll that comes installed with Windows has it so you don't need anything additional installed). You can even write a basic debugger that literally debugs a process using
only kernel32 functions (see

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Lightroom 5.2 radial filter tool doesn't work

I recently purchased Lightroom 5.2 and the radial filter tool doesn't work. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix for this problem. Is there any way to get technical support from Adobe or is this a ridiculous question?

I believe the problem lies with me not knowing how to use the radial filter tool and not the software in this instance. As I mentioned, I just purchased Lightroom software and I'm in the process of learning. Last night, my first instance of a software glitch was with the slideshow view not working. I get a black screen; however, this is the subject for another post. Subsequently, I was struggling with the radial filter and, initially, I thought this was another glitch; which it is not. When I went to the Adobe website looking for technical support, I could not find any place where I could call or send an email for tech support to get a question answered. Instead, Adobe directs customers to this forum where kind people, such as yourself, are willing to help others. At this point, I was very exasperated. The DB tools doesn't work with Microsoft SQL

I am tring to write series of waveforms to a database. The DB tools doesn't work with Microsoft SQL, but when i replace the SQL with Access, it works fine. I have to use SQL in the application.
Any advice pls?

Right off hand I would say the problem is that you are connecting through ODBC. Try the native SQL Server driver, your connect string should define the provider as "SQLOLEDB.1".
