Content Aware not always working?

What are the specifications for how to make content aware work? Sometimes I delete something and it asks for content aware, but other times it just deletes it. Do you know what's up?

Why does InDesign interactives table of contents does not always work in page mode ?

I'm working on a large document (400 pages) made of 12 Indesign documents in a book. When I export the entire book in one interactive pdf file, some the elements from the interactive table of content do not work. When I export the file as «spread», everything works, when I export the file in «pages» some elements loose their interactivity.
I'm on CS6 on Mac.

Content aware not working

HI all I've got a copy of CS5 extended and for somereason content aware is no longer working.
here is an example:
To the left you can see the white area I am trying to fill, so I realise this is a big area and select only a portion, making sure I've got enough of the sky to make a good copy and then go shift backspace or edit>fill and get up the content aware dialogue.
And up comes the dialogue box, I press ok and nothing happens?
Anyway know what this is about. I can go in and clone it but this seems wierd.

It's not a good sign, when something doesn't work then does after restarting the app. It's possible the panorama stitching process left some corruption in memory or used up some resources that were needed for Content Aware Fill to work.
These latest "gee whiz" features Adobe has added to Photoshop always seem a little less stable to me than the rest of the product. In some cases I know they're packages they purchased, rather than engineered themselves, so the level of integration might be a little lower behind the scenes than with the "native" features engineered in-house. In practical terms, this means you probably want to save your work often, in several different places, and maybe even restart Photoshop after doing "big" things.
And to be fair, Photoshop relies heavily on OpenGL, and the OpenGL implementations done by the video card makers are not always perfectly stable - this can leave latent corruption in Photoshop's memory causing problems later. If you've had unexplained trouble, it's always a good idea to check to see if your video card maker has published a newer display driver for your hardware on their web site.
Do you have a lot of free space on your scratch drive? I know that the panorama stitching process can use a LOT of scratch space. I ask because running out of scratch space might cause unexpected failures.
Also, how much memory do you have, and what are your settings in Edit - Preferences - Performance?

IPod Touch 4th gen home button not always working and deletes all songs on iPod.

I bought my ipod touch on may but since that day, the home button is not alway working and also sometimes when I sync my Ipod, it remove all the songs from it without asking me. What can I do? It is so frustrating..

Regarding the songs problem, Are you always syncing to one computer/iTunes library? If y sync to another computer/iTunes library your iPod will be erased and its contents replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the second computer.

Help!!! My Content Aware has stopped working.

My content aware feature stopped working. It worked for about 6 months and then stopped functioning correctly. I tried deleting and reloading the software, and this also did not work. I select an area to fill and choose content aware and it will only fill it partially. I am unable to post a capture of what this looks like. Basically, when I try to utilize content fill..the result is a semi filled section. It looks as if it glazes over the selection..leaving it visible but partially filled. This happens regardless of the selection size, area of the photo etc.

Web Intelligence is not always working well

i found web intelligence is not always working, sometime, when i try to open a document, it takes so long, sometimes, it is fast, sometimes when i try to refresh the report, it gives me error, i am wondering if someone knows what could cause this kind of issue? is it proxy? or something else?

there are many factors that can cause slow performance. In those cases where it is sometimes fast, it may be due to caching -- another user recently requested the same report and the report is in the server's cache, so instead of running the report from the start it sends the cache to you. In other cases there may be no cache built up so you get stuck waiting for cache and your report comes up slowly. There are a couple of techniques for tracking down slow performance, but mostly it happens due to either a database problem or an overworked applications/web server, or poor communication/LAN/Network lines. Depending on your expertise you'll gravitate to checking that aspect out first and investigating one of the aspects to see where a bottleneck is getting produced. Another technique is to add -trace to your service startups to add more verbose messages to your logs. Adding trace will help you to see more of what is going on in the background. I guess it's a matter of digging in and following your instincts until you can nail down the culprit.

LR4.2 and "Do not import selected duplicates" does not always work.

LR4.2 and "Do not import selected duplicates" does not always work. Running a Mac, 10.6.8, I am cleaning up hard drives, organizing old files. There are times lightroom 4.2 (and before) does not recognize already imported raws and does not gray them out. These are backed up cards and folders of of raw images. Why is the "do not import selected duplicates" check box not working???!!!

There's a known (and old) bug when duplicate identification fails on photos
that have been imported from another catalog.

You mean your home button?
If it intermittently works, then you either have to get it cleaned out or fixed. Back up your iPhone and take it into an Apple Store.

The Back arrow does not always work, particularly with Amazon and eBay sites.Even the on-page Back arrows do not work either.

I am using version 15.0.1. Since I updated to this version, the Back arrow does NOT always work particularly with Amazon and eBay. This is particularly evident when I go from a list the result of a search to an item on the lis. I cannot get back to the list even using the On-page Back arrow. I usually have to repeat the search to get back to the list again.

Flash player not always working

For some reason certain sites won't load video's with flash player at all on my computer, where other sites with flash player will (I think sites that have an updated version required won't work). I am running the 12 version for chrome (it's enabled and i have done everything on this site to fix it

Can I not add images to my itunes from Google images or other search engines as when I click get artwork it does not always work. I used to be able to do this.

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

Can't get Content Aware Extend to work

Read all the tutorials but when I make a selection and select content aware extend it just moves the selection without extending it. Need to find some way get it to actually extend?
After making a selection, the "move" and "extend" options appear to do exactly the same thing.

OK, I got it working now but it does not work very well, or as expected.
This is more of a move and replace tool rather than an extend. It is labeled wrong. While the move tool fills in the space left behind, this sort of leaves the selection there and duplicates the selection to move. Not very useful. Can be better done better with the clone tool.
This tool also errors out quite quickly as you mentioned by moving the selection too far yet does not tell you. The problem is there is no feedback from the SW that it has errored out and can't do anything.
What would be helpful would be to create a REAL extend tool that duplicated repeating pixels between the selection and the current position.

NTLM through the CSS not always working...

We're using a CSS in a one armed config, so everything is in a destination group. We have a set of web servers that we use the CSS to split traffic based on URL (ex. /* goes to server1 and 2, /Sites* goes to server3 and server4)   All 4 are running IIS, we do have the "http-method parse RFC-2518-methods"
set, and are using NTLM.
That generally works fine, but see two bits of strange behavior:
    1. Sometimes traffic that should go to 3 and 4 goes to 1 or 2
    2. Sometime we get prompted for login info, even though it should flow through.
We see problem number 2 when pointed at a content rule with just one service added to it also...
Any pointers?

Are these long winded tcp connections, or does the client open several different tcp connections for this app? The reason I ask is problem 1 sounds like a possible garbage collection issue.

Q. How is flow garbage collected?
A. The flow manager has a timer task that wakes up every second. This timer task performs garbage collection in an interval that depends Aron the total number of flows on either a single port or the session processor as a whole. By default, garbage collection will run every eight seconds. Each time the garbage collection runs, it looks at a number of slots in a hash table of mapped flows. Each flow is checked to see if it is older than a certain number of seconds, which varies depending on protocol. If the flow is older than a given number of seconds, the fastpath is asked if there has been any activity on the flow within a protocol dependent number of seconds. Thus, you would expect to allow more "dead" time for a chat flow than an NFS flow. If the fastpath either cannot find the flow asked about or the flow has been idle for longer than the specified number of seconds, the flow is torn down by the fastpath.
While we allow for a protocol number of seconds for a flow to be idle, the actual time that it takes to garbage collect a dead flow is that number of seconds plus the time it takes to get through the flow map. This could be as long as four extra minutes, or as short as exactly the timeout interval for a flow of a given protocol type. It is not strictly deterministic because of the way that the collection algorithm works.
As the load increases on a given port or the session processor, the number of seconds between garbage collection intervals goes down first to four then to every two seconds. The number of slots looked at also doubles each time you pass a load threshold. The busier you get, the more cleanup efforts are made. Usually, this works pretty well to maintain resources.
If you ever run short of buffers, immediately try to garbage collect, and also take any buffers queued to a flow (only relevant for content aware processing) and return them to the system buffer pool. This will cause a retransmission for the client but will maintain the system integrity. This is reviewed as a minor penalty. This also is very rare.
For example, if the flow is set up in a hash bin that the garbage collector gets to just after the default timeout interval, and there has been no activity within that timeout interval, the flow will be removed. The flow is torn down via garbage collection in as little as 15 seconds.
When a flow is removed, it is placed at the end of the free list. This list contains all allocated flows (used or not) in the system. The flow remains in a list that is hashed via network tuples so that you can forward any frames until such time as the flow is reallocated off the front of the free list. Under these circumstances, you may see a connection be destroyed in as little as 15 + ( (total allocated FCBs / 2) / sustained flow rate per second) seconds. The flow gets torn down rapidly, however, it is around long enough to do useful work till it gets reallocated from the head of the free list.
When the flow is in the free list we do not look to see what rule is the better match. the request would get sent to whatever server was last used when the flow was garbage collected. The snip above mentions 15 seconds but for http traffic this is really 8 seconds of idle time before we garbage collect. You can try increasing the time the css takes to garbage collect a flow to see if this helps. It may also be part of the problem for the second issue as well.
the command is "flow-timeout-multiplier x" x is a multiple of 16 seconds so the command flow-timeout-multiplier 4 would tell the CSS to not garbage collect the flow until over 1 minute of idle time is seen. This command would be added to all content rules that are seeing this issue. Give this a shot to see if it helps.

CS4: Content Aware scaling never works....

Quad 2.66 Xeon MacPro
16GB RAM
Dedicated 250GB internal Scratch Drive (Not a volume)
2 nVidia 512mb 8800GT video cards.
Whenever I choose "Content Aware Scale" the transform handles appear, I alter the image, ht enter to commit and I get this:

The file I'm working on currently is only 37.5mb in size, 2599x2592 pixels, two layers ...
But this error presents itself with each and every attempt to use Content-Aware scale.
Any help?

so I'm not the only one who has problems with content aware scaling -- but there is no current discussion about it and I'm not sure what to do now.
Im on a mac book pro that i bought october 2008 with 4 Gb RAM, with a 2.8 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor. I run content aware scaling on a file and get the warning dialogue: Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM).
People have talked about CAScaling not working well with Bigger tiles plug in activated. as far as I can see I do not even have that plug in. I go to apps>PS CS4 >plug-ins > extentions -- and it's not there -- I see plug ins for AltiVecCore, Enable Async IO, FastCore MMXCore, Multi Processor Support. PPCCore, and scripting support -- but not a Bigger tiles plug in which I still have in my previous copy of CS3 -- but not CS4.
So I'm wondering what's up - how to solve this issue and get back to work -- and just how I should have my PS performance preferences set up for best performance. Anyone out there with a clue?
