  • CHM buttons are not localized in a French project (shows English Contents, Index, Search, Print, Hide buttons)

I opened an old WinHelp project into my new RoboHelp 7. When
I generate the CHM, even with the Project Settings in RoboHelp set
to French and running in a French Windows operating system (MS
Windows XP Pro 2002 SP 2), the CHM output is still in English. The
buttons display in English (Contents, Index, Search, Print, Hide
buttons). The title bar of the CHM also says "HTML
Help" even though the project title in the Project
    Settings is "Aide en ligne...".
My Windows Regional Settings through the Control Panel -
Regional Options tab is set French (France). On the Languages tab I
under Text Services and Input Languages, Details button, I selected
French (France) French. On the Advanced tab I selected French. Then
    I rebooted.
On the language bar on my Task pane, I selected FR. The CHM
    still displays in English.
Please help! I have to produce 4 CHMS in languages other than
    English today.
    Thanks!

GinaL, would you be able to give us an update? Did the CHM
files look ok on a PC with a true French OS installed?
To avoid having to rewrite everything, I've written the
following info/instructions for my team -- though I'm not yet sure
    they're 100% correct:
After I reported this issue to Adobe, they worked on the
problem for several days. They even sent me a new
HtmSingleSourceHtmlHelp.dll file that was supposed to solve the
problem. But it didn't work correctly. No matter what contortions
we put ourselves through, we couldn't get both of these items
correct in the CHM file at the same time, namely:
Index compiled in correct alphabetical order accdg to the
    language of the help project.
Correctly translated help title showing in the caption,
regardless of the user's Windows regional settings. (For example,
we wanted "FORMS-Hilfe zu FORMS 5-3" to appear as the caption of
the German version of FORMS help, even if our regional settings
    were set to English.)
I think we'd all agree that the index has to be in
alphabetical order. So from what I've seen, this is what we have to
do when compiling a non-English version of help using RH7:
    1. Set up the project with the foreign name.
    2. Set the language in the project settings. And in the
Project Settings dialog, click Advanced and check out the LNG File
tab to make sure it's using a translated version.
    3. Ensure that the Window Caption setting is correct in each
window included in the project. (On RoboHelp's Project tab, open
the Windows folder, double-click each window in turn, and check the
    settings.)
    4. Set the Language setting in the HHP file to Language=[hex
value for that language]. I found a bunch of them listed on this
web page. Someone else might be able to find a better source:
    https://svn.origo.ethz.ch/scoop/es_scoop_60/library/i18n/locale/nls/i18n_nls_lcid_tools.e
    5. Change your Windows regional settings to the same language
as the help project. (Reboot if prompted.)
    6. Recommended, for safety's sake: Delete the CPD file.
    7. Open the project and compile using RH7.
    8. Check the index's sort order -- is it in alphabetical
order according to the language of the project?
    9. Check the help caption -- make sure it's not "HTML Help".
Note: Any customized buttons in your CHM should appear
correctly translated, but other buttons (Contents, Index, Search)
still appear in English -- at least they do on my PC, even though I
did step 2 above. We need to check whether those buttons appear
correctly when the PC is actually running a true foreign version of
Windows, and not just with temporarily adjusted Windows settings.
OR -- is anyone else able to get these to appear translated in the
    CHM file?
Does anyone have anything to add? Other solutions? Easier
    procedures? Better results to report?
    Thank you
    Eileen

  • Payload Content Based Search in PI

    Hello Experts,
We are trying to implement Payload contenet based search functionality in our PI enviroemnt.
One of the approch I can across is to have the message index using TREX index engine. This would allow us to do the message content based search from RWB itself.
Can somebody give me a idea of how much does it take to have lience and configuration set up of TREX engine? Also, any link to a "How to guide" or any blog will be greatly appreciated.
The other approch I could find out on SDN was to have a ABAP report to achieve the same. But, it is only recomended for a system where messages flowing through the system are very low.
I would really appreciate If anybody can help me with more information or available documentation.

  • OWC PS5 - Content Presenter - Search functionality in custom list template

We have created a custom list template for displaying the contents and use this custom list template in the content presenter task flow.
We would need to implement Search functionality in the custom template.
Any pointers on how to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Navaneeth

Sorry to see that this post hasn't had a response from the search team for so long.
1 Search will not find content in portlets (for instance page portlets).
That is correct. The content of portlets may be different for each user so indexing this content can provide misleading results. However, if you only need to index public content, Oracle Ultrasearch can be used to index all portal content, including that displayed through portlets.
2 If Search Results Type in a custom search portlet is set to Pages, the search will be made in page display name, page keywords and page description. It will not search for item content.
Searching for pages checks the following pieces of metadata:
    page name & display name
    keywords
    description
all custom text attributes associated with the page type
all custom url attributes associated with the page type
all custom file attributes associated with the page type
Items will not be searched but again, its possible to index the entire page using Ultrasearch.
3 It is not possible to search for items but get found item's page links as results.
This is incorrect. The custom search portlet allows the administrator to select the attributes that should be displayed from the search portlet's "edit-defaults" screens. From here, its possible to select the "page" attribute to be displayed with the search results. This means that you can search for items and then click on a link to go to the page on which the item resides.
Various improvements have been made for 9.0.4, including better control over the display of page results.

  • Content By Search web part causing issue for ajax post back implementation in Anonymous page

We have recently migrated from SharePoint 2010 to 2013. In our site we have the registration control with ajax update panel which is working fine in all the pages other than home. After analysis, I found that this issue is happening only if the content
by search web part exists (with loading behaviour as Sync. We tried with Async, ajax postback implementation working fine but search web part need some permission to execute the query in anonymous page).
    We got this link
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff650218.aspx which tell to include
Microsoft.Practices.SPG.AJAXSupport.dll but we can't find this dll for VS 2012. Let us know where we can download the link.

    Hi,
Here is a similar thread for you to take a look at:

If you want to use Microsoft.Practices.SPG.AJAXSupport.dll. We can download the SharePointGuidance-August 2009.exe and install it, then we can find the project in the Source folder.

  • Hide specific content from search engine SEO, javascript

    Hello,
I was wondering how good this would work to hide specific
    content for search
    engines.
    <script>
    var text =
    '<table><tr><td>Hello</td></tr></table>'
    document.write(text)
    </script>
I have a site that has a database, when a user arrives at the
    page the
database is checked against the ip and a flag is shown for
    that specific
country. I would like to hide that from search engines as the
    search engine
seems to make it local to itself.
do you think the above should work ok. I have been told else
    where "just
make it display only by Javascript... search engines do not
    run javascript
and should thereore NOT see the text"
would be interesting to know others commons on this.

Correct, but most people don't know that and just take the
    Union Jack
for everything that's somewhat related to "English", hence my
    question.
It's most commonly seen on pages that use flags to point to
    different
    language versions of that page.
This is not the case here, though, but I just wanted to point
    out that
flags on a website can be troublesome. And I still don't
    think that
determining the user's country just by looking at its IP can
    be done
reliably, so some users will definitely get a wrong flag.
    Whether this
might be a problem or not depends on the OP and his target
    audience.

  • How to get Result Count Content By Search Webpart (ContentBySearchWebPart)?

I'm writing a webpart that extends the out of the box ContentBySearchWebPart.
Does any one know how to get the search result count from this webpart?
I did not find any property?

    Hi
Thanks but you are referring to the "Search Webpart". I am referring to the "Content Search" or often called "Content by Search" which is different. It's the one under Content Rollup.
Although very similar they're not - Content Search WP doesn't have that property.
What I am really after is to hide the whole webpart if there are no results coming back. I tried to figure it out and even write a jQuery that would search for the text "There are no results" message which comes from the webpart when result count=0
and hide the parent webpart that way. There will be a short flash once the page loads rendering the webpart for a split second and then disappear by jQuery - which is not great UI experience.
There is this property: "ShouldHideControlWhenEmpty" but it doesn't do anything when there are no results. The webpart is still visible. Webpart has a the Title and the Border around it so when there are no results the title and the border show
up with no results. Like I said I want to hide the whole thing in that case.
So I thought I could extend the OOTB ContentBySearchWebPart and get a hold of some kind property that would get me the result count. If the results count is 0 simply I would hide the webpart server side.
    Thoughts?

  • Content By Search Web Part and the Hover Panel

    Hi
     I have an Office 365 E3 account.
I have a Content By Search Webpart which I have added to a home page.
I have a display template that displays the results and should show the Search hover panel just like in SharePoint Search Results.
However, it does not unless the CSWP is near the bottom of the screen.
I have used the IE11 debugger and I can see the hover panel code being called when the mouse enters the CSWP area, but it only works (and doers not stay visible very long) if the CSWP web part is at the bottom of the screen.
This only works when the CSWP is at the bottom of the screen.  It does not work when the CSWP is further up the screen.
    Am I doing something wrong.
(This works perfectly using on-premise SharePoint 2013 with SP1.)
    Regards
    Nigel
    Nigel Price NJPEnterprises

    Hi  Nigel,
According to your description, my understanding is that the hover panel of your custom display template only works when the Content Search Web Part is at the page bottom.
For  customizing  hover panel on the Content Search Web Part  using a Custom Display Template, you can refer to the blog:
    http://www.cdhtalkstech.com/2013/11/19/5598/
I tested it in my SharePoint Online environment and the hover panel worked.
For more information, you can have a look at these articles:

  • Control the query of Content By Search web part or a Catalog-Item Reuse web part from JavaScript

Is it possible/supported to intercept and change the query before it gets issued by a Content By Search or Catalog-Item Reuse webpart?
I am writing a multilingual site utilizing cross-site publishing mechanism, and the out-of-box (OOB) web parts would perfectly work if not for the following requirement that I've got: I need to serve location-specific content to the end user. I have several
versions of each content page for each geographical location, and I have tagged the pages accordingly with managed metadata keywords. I also can deduce the user's location from her browser's IP address and store it in a JavaScript variable. It is here
where I am getting stuck: I am trying to change on the fly the queries the web parts issue in order to attach the information about the user's geographical location, unsuccessfully so far.
I cannot rely on server-side code unless it is a cloud-hosted app code. I am about to give up and consider a custom solution alternative instead, which would be relying on Search REST API and custom client-side scripted widgets in place
of the OOB search web parts. This seems like an expensive alternative as the entire site could have been built using the OOB web parts, if not for the location requirement.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ivan.

    hi
    I would check several directions:
    - in query transformation you may add keyword filter "Value of a field on the page". Documentation doesn't clearly says what "field" means here: is it only for site columns, or also may work for UI controls on the page. In second case it would solve your
    problem (it would be possible to add hidden field on the page and set value via javascript). But chances that it works like this are not high;
    - in the query settings of the Content by search web part there is setting "Loading behavior": Choose whether this query is issued on the server while the page is loading, which is better for your main content, or from the browser after the page appears.
    I.e. if you will choose 2nd option there will be a chance to intercept the query on the client side in theory. All of this requires experimenting of course;
    - by default Content by search web part sends query to /_vti_bin/client.svc/ProcessQuery with http post from client side (you may check it in fiddler). You may try to find the exact javascript function which performs the call and override it by adding additional
conditions to the query (fortunately it is not complicated in javascript).

  • Contents/Index/Search/Glossary toolbar

The Contents/Index/Search/Glossary toolbar in my WebHelp
project only displays the text for one tab at a time.
For example, by default the project opens with the Contents
tab displayed. You can see the word "Contents" with the blue
background. However, for the rest of the tabs, you can only see the
icons on a white background. If you click on an icon, for example,
the Index icon, then the word "Index" and blue background display.
I want all the tabs to display with their words and on a blue
background at the same time. Can any of you help me? Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
If you are using a skin, it is as simple as double clicking
the skin and setting the colours and text to what you want.
As described, there will no difference between the tab with

    Hi,
    Scenario is like this:
I will receive PO from diff. customers(set up in Oracle B2B) , all sending in same DTD format(3A4 PIP), all msg will routed to iStudio via IP_IN_QUEUE (queue mngt provided by Oracle B2B), being published by AQ adapter & subs. by dbadapter.
I have to trigger diffrent events on the basis of few fields (DUNS num).. the dtd for all the events is same? How can I do this?
All the events are created in different business objects itself... plz suggest whether this approah is right or not .. -:(.
Actually ecah event had few hardcodings which caused to create seperate events/BO for the TPs, but if the msg is coming from same queue how can I route it to diff events?
What is the use of Event Map tab present in define App view of AQ Adapater? Will this be helpful in some way?
Any pointers will be a great help.

I find the OAIHeader very useful to try to ascertain from what adapter the inbound message was sourced from.
Include the OAIHeader in your Common View, and pass the SenderName / SendingApplication / BusinessObject / EventName / through to your Subscribe Application View.
At runtime, the OAIHeader section of the Common View will get filled in, and when mapped to an attribute(s) on your Subscribe code, you may be able to trigger your inbound message handling based on this / these fields contents.
