Content compliance: failed during windows 8 (32 bit) App Submission?

Notes from Testers:
The app is about a non-Windows platform.
Not getting 10.1.10 Certification requirement document in App certification requirements for the Windows Store.
How can I know the exact issue of this failure?
How can I resolve it.

Raise a support request. I would guess that requirement 10.1.10 is new and part of the next update for Windows 10. There is no mention of it that I can find.
Unfortunately some of the people who certify apps are useless. They give incredibly unhelpful notes.
"The app is about a non-Windows platform." doesn't help because there doesn't seem to be any requirement that this relates to.
What is the app about? If the given reasoning doesn't make sense to you, try resubmitting with a note to the testers (there is unfortunately no guarantee that it will be read). If you make a clear case that your app is not violating any terms (and get a
competent reviewer) your app might be accepted.
Check your dashboard, there might be a report with more details (I'm not sure if they provide reports if the app failed for non-crashing reasons).
I'm a self-taught noob amateur. Please take this into account when responding to my posts or when taking advice from me.

  • HP Installer Fails on Windows 7 64-bit for CP1020 Series Printer

    Hello!
I've been trying to troubleshoot this for days, and I've seen lots of unanswered/unresponded to posts regarding the same matter so I hope someone sees this!
Product Name & Number: LaserJet CP1025nw color CE914A
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Error Message: HP LaserJet Installer has stopped working
Changes made to system before the error occured: We updated our router info, so I ran the installation disk to reconnect the printer wirelessly. It uninstalled the programs originally added to run the printer.
    The Details:
Alright, so 3 days ago we updated our router SSID and password for security reasons. Apparently, there's no easy way to update network details for the CP1025nw so I had to run the installation disk. It prompted me to uninstall the software, reboot and then reinstall. I run through the prompts, and then choose "Connect through a wireless network". After searching the network, I then choose "USB Setup of Wireless". I connect the USB when prompted, and as soon as the drivers are installed I get the Windows error message posted above.  I have attached a screenshot of what appears as well.
The frustrating thing is that the printer still works after installation, but only through USB connection! I need to get wireless working again, but without the installation software working, I can't seem to make this happen (unless someone knows a hack/work around).
Event Viewer provides the following details on the application error:
Faulting application name: hpbcsiInstaller.exe, version: 1.5.6.4020, time stamp: 0x4bbf9f17
Faulting module name: hppccompio.DLL, version: 1.3.0.24, time stamp: 0x4c9685d0
    Exception code: 0xc0000417
    Fault offset: 0x000073bf
    Faulting process id: 0x970
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cdbc45b6632fa1
    Faulting application path: D:\Installer\hpbcsiInstaller.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\hppccompio.DLL
    Report Id: cb4d353b-2839-11e2-be7e-002564531498
I have tried a vast array of solutions and none of them seem to work. Everything from firmware upgrades, removing all instances of HP files including .inf files, installing with startup programs and services as basic as they can get, etc.
     PLEASE HELP!!
    Cheers,
    Kirk
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Alright, well this was a beast of a problem to say the least. I'm so relieved to be finished with this nonsense.
How it all started - a recap:
We changed the password on our wireless network as we were updating it for security reasons.  I couldn't find ANYTHING that allowed for me to update the network details (password or SSID) directly on my printer and everywhere said I needed to uninstall and reinstall everything (and re-run the connect to wifi via USB). This is not the case - there is a much simpler solution which I will also cover at the end of this post. Anyway, as mentioned above, during the stage of installing device drivers, the installer crashes with the Windows message "HP Installer Setup Has Stopped Working".
    How I fixed it:
    1. Printed a configuration page by pressing down the 'resume' button for a few seconds and letting go. I took note of the following in the upper right corner:
         Status: Not Connected
         Network in Use: None
         IP Address: 0.0.0.0
I got continued to wonder if I could connect to the printer directly through the ethernet port so I...
    2. plugged in a cat5 from my laptop to the printer.
    3. Printed a second configuration page. Now I got the following information:
         Status: Connected
         Network in Use: Wired
         IP Address: 169.254.71.50
    4. I opened my web browser and tried going to 169.254.71.50 but the page wouldn't connect. I recently just built a gaming computer and found a way to bridge internet from a wireless laptop to a wired device (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96Z1_6rX5qU) so I wondered if this would work with the printer.
    5. Bridged my Wireless and Network connections as per the video above.
    6. Opened my web browser and once again tried navigating to 169.254.71.50 and it WORKED! (Not sure if that IP address is unqiue to my printer, but printing a configuration report is the best place to find it.
    7. I clicked on the Networking tab and then selected  Wireless Configuration.
    8. From here I was able to enable my wireless connection, updated my wireless password, and choose the wireless network I wanted to connect to! This is how you can update your wifi information without having to do a complete reinstall!!
    9. I now unplugged the ethernet cable (as suggested next to the enable/disable radio buttons. My wireless printer light turned on and stayed on. I was now connected again!!
    10. I don't think this was a critical step, but I also set up the ePrint mobile printing
    11. I printed another configuration page, and could now see the following:
         Status: Connected
         Newtwork in Use: Wireless
         IP Address: 192.168.1.115
    12. I could now navigate back into the printer through my browser using that IP and was able to find and print to my printer wirelessly through my phone, but was still unable to print from my laptop wirelessly.
    13. I inserted the original install CD, held my breath and clicked install. Holding your breath here is optional.
    14. It asked how I wanted to connect, and as before I choose wirelessly. This time instead of asking me to connect the USB, it FOUND my printer on the network! I selected it, clicked continue and everything successfully installed!
Everything is now back to normal! I can use my printer wirelessly once again. PLEASE let me know if anyone needs more clarification on the above steps, or if something doesn't work for you because there is no other solution out there. Trust me, I spent HOURS AND HOURS looking. I hope this helps some of you!
    Cheers,
    Kirk

  • Windows 7 64 bit apps crashing, dde server error

Hi, I am having problems with a new Windows 7, 64 bit system. Acrobat 9 frequently crashes programs when it's invoked, for instance when trying to print a web page to PDF from Firefox, or making a PDF from a Word document. Firefox or Word will crash, with no errors. Acrobat is also giving these errors freqently: "Fatal error: failed to connect to dde server"
Other installed apps include MS Office 2007 and Symantec Endpoint Protection, SAS JMP, Endnote.
    thanks for any suggestions.

Under windows 7 64bits  it's impossible to resinstall  the driver for my multifunction printer  hp1415  connected with USB to a dell laptop .
I've got this at the end of setup :
    "installation failed"
and setup failed saying something is too long around 99 %
Any idea ? (i tried every tips on HP support)
I tried Universal Driver, it's ok as workaroung but i need to make all functions working (scan, etc ...)

Je suis bon, Il fait très beau!
I would recommend uninstalling the software (if any has installed) and restarting the PC. Then follow the link below and select your operating system to be directed to the most appropriate software and drivers for the printer.
    http://goo.gl/3RRkl
Try doing the installation from this software, and another thing to note - if you are outside of the States you should select your appropriate country from the country select option in the bottom left hand corner of the webpage.

  • HP970Cse driver fails in Windows 7 64 bit

Help, can't install 970Cse printer driver in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
Tried - using USB auto install. everything progresses well and get a green check, however printer does not work. Error message that driver is not installed on this computer and promps for reinstall. After reinstall that same error message- driver is not on this computer
Tried - manual install using Add Printer. Undated printer driver list from Windows Update. Selected 970Cse driver. Still not working. Tried both "use driver currently installed and replace current driver" and both result in error message. "Unable to install printer.  Some driver files are missing or incorrect. Reinstall the driver or try using the latest version".  Did Windows Update again and same error message.
Tried - HP Install Wizard. After finding Deskjet 970 Cse, said this is a non supported printer.
I have installed this printer easily on a Win8 64 bit laptop a few weeks ago using USB.  No issues.

My company gives me a new notebook every three years.  The last computer I had was also HP Elitebook Window 7 64 with an i5 processor, but this new notebook with i7 processor, has issues finding a driver for my personal printer the HP 970 Cse.  I came to this forum hoping this had been resolved.
I have been in a queue for HP SmartFriend support for approximately one hour.
I cannot understand why HP doesn't have these drivers available to download.
I wonder if there is a way to copy the drivers from my old computer?

    Hello,

  • ISE authentication fail during windows re-logon

    Background:
Deployed a Cisco ISE 1.1.2. that is used to authenticate and posture validate for wired users, attached to Cisco IP Phones. Backend database is Microsoft AD.
    Problem:
At the first time both, users and IP Phones, pass authentication and posture validation steps successfully. When the user logs off from windows, the log off is done whithout any problem, and I can see it switch.
The problem takes place when the user try to log on again. The ise does not match the configured authenticion rules as in the first time, and put the user directly to default "DenyAccess" policy (rule).
Anyone out there experienced something similar or have any ideas on why this is happening?
    Thanks.

    Hi
    Possible Causes
    • This could be either a MAB or 802.1X authentication issue.
    • The authorization profile could be missing the Cisco av-pair=”device-traffic-class=voice” attribute. As a result, the switch does not recognize the traffic on the voice VLAN.
    • The administrator did not add the endpoint as static identity, or did not allow an unregistered endpoint to pass. create a policy rule to (“Continue/Continue/Continue” upon failure).
    Resolution
    • Verify that the Authorization Policy is framed properly for groups and conditions, and check to see whether the IP phone is profiled as an “IP phone”or as a “Cisco-device.”
    • Verify the switch port configuration for multidomain and voice VLAN configuration.
    • Add the continue/continue/continue to allow the endpoint to pass:
Choose Policy > Policy Elements > Results > Authentication > Allowed
Protocols to create a Protocol Policy. MAC authentications use PAP/ASCII and EAP-MD5 protocols. Enable the following MAB Protocols settings:
    – Process Host Lookup
    – PAP/ASCII
    – Detect PAP as Host Lookup
    – EAP-MD5
    – Detect EAP-MD5 as Host Lookup
    • From the main menu, choose Policy > Authentication.
    • Change the authentication method from Simple to Rule-Based
    • Use the action icon to create new Authentication Method entries for MAB:
    – Name: MAB
    – Condition: IF MAB RADIUS:Service-Type == Call Check
    – Protocols: allow protocols MAB_Protocols and use
    – Identity Source: Internal
    – Hosts: Continue/Continue/Continue

  • In-Home Agent and Windows 7, 64 bit

I tried this earlier in response to a message and  got no response. I will try again. The In-Home Agent may be supposed to work with Windows 7, but it falls quite short on my Windows 7-64. The TV section is fogged out and has no information. It will not retrieve SSID or WEP keys, but only comes up with a blank screen (i.e. nothing happens). It finds no Verizon e-mail on my computer. There is a possible javascript problem:In closing the Agent, "an error has occurred in the script on this pageLine: 1Char: 1Error: Invalid Character URL: file://C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Verizon/FiOS/ihs/hnm/js/contentslider.js
Besides the javascript error, another problem might be that my e-mail address is [email protected], which then relays it to [email protected] I am not about to change that. Can the agent be made to work properly?

The same goes for your website, unfortunately. I like Fios, but when I recommend it I tell people "Verizon has just about the WORST support software in the industry". (1)Machine A Windows 2003(32 bit): Database tier: 10gR2(10.2.0.3) NO RAC
    (1)Machine A Windows 2003(32 bit): Apps tier: (Concurrent,Reports)
    (2)Machine B Windows 2003(32 bit): Apps tier: (Admin,Web,Forms)
Ours is 15 Concurrent Users and no customizations to any processes.
Now planning to move to windows 2008 R2(64 bit) machine as part of upgradation to 12.1.3
Planning R12.1.1 configuration Details: 2 Machines
    (1)Machine A Windows 2008 R2 Server(64 bit): Database tier: 11gR2(11.2.0.2) No RAC
    (2)Machine B Windows 2003(32 bit): Apps tier: (Concurrent,Reports,Admin,Web,Forms)
    OR it should be
    (2)Machine B Windows 2008(32 bit): Apps tier: (Concurrent,Reports,Admin,Web,Forms)
Is this confugaration advisable? Any Performance wise degradation.
Planning to have BI Publisher and Discoverer .. Where to install these?
    Process:
    1) Staged Environment:
Machine A Windows 2008 R2(64 bit): Upgrade 10gR2 to base 11gR2 and then to 11.2.0.2 on any windows 32 bit machine. And migrating this DB to 64 bit Machine A.
Machine B Windows 2003/2008(32 bit): Freshly installing 12.1.1 apps tier (Concurrent,Reports,Admin,Web,Forms), Porting over any personalised Reports,Forms(few personilizations) and Interfaces. And then upgrading to RUP3(12.1.3). Opting for Fresh installation as there are no process customizations mainly.
Now my doubt is.. for 15 Concurrent user.. just having one Apps Tier is sufficient with 4 GB RAM(cannot be extended as it is windows standard 32 bit and max is 4 GB RAM), DB Tier with 8 GB RAM on windows 2008 R2(64 bit)?
Please suggest me any other approaches if any applicable for Windows. I am a Newbie in implementation.

  • Usdsop: exec failed during spawn

When I try to bring a file to upload to gl, we first do a transfer the file from Network into our Linux Box using a concurrent program.
The concurrent program first spawn a concurrent request which executes a shell script to transfers the file from network to linux box (Middle Tier) and then reads the file to load to gl_import.
recently, we upgraded to 12.0.6 from 12.0.4 and we get this error
usdsop: exec failed during spawn/u01/oraerp/DEV/apps/apps_st/appl/rwjf/12.0.0/bin/RWJF_JPM_CHECKS_CLEARED_FILE_TRANS: No such file or directory
    /u01/oraerp/DEV/apps/apps_st/appl/rwjf/12.0.0/bin/RWJF_JPM_CHECKS_CLEARED_FILE_TRANS
    Program exited with status 1
    Any help is appreciated.

Is this a custom concurrent program? If yes, then you need to review the code (and fix it if required).

  • Install Failed for HP Laserjet 1200 Series in new Laptop with Windows 8, 64 Bit

Product Name - HP Laserjet 1200 Series, PCL 6 Driver
Operating System: Windows 8 Home Edition, 64 bit
Error Message : Can't find the 1200 Series on the Network. To locate manually click ok ....
Changes Made - This is an installation on new laptop, running Windows 8, 64 bit
    Description:
    1. Installing to an existing network, that consistedof a desktop and two wireless laptops.
    2. Both Laptops have Windows 7, 64 bit. Above named printer is successfully accessed from the laptops.
    3. Am replacing one of the laptops with the Windows 8 64 bit.
    4. The Series 1200 path is: Wireless Printer to Router, Router to Desktop via ethernet, Desktop to Printer via cable.
    5. The wireless printer configuration is
Name:  HP Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5
            Port:     \\Central\HPLaserj
Printer: HP Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5
          Driver: HPMCPM25.GPD   5.8.2008
    Problem
Unable to recreate this path with the Windows 8, 64 bit configuration.
    a. When I attempt to download a current driver always wind up with a file entitled UPD-pcl6-x64-5.6.0.14430
This appears to be a universal PCL 6 printer driver, Can successfully unzip the file and create a folder
    b. During installation I can see the the desktop printer ICON (name:\\central\HPLaserj); so far, so good
    c. Process fails to locate a driver and instructs to manually locate.
    d. Browsing to the HP Universal Driver Folders fails because a driver cannot be found .
    e. Attempting to manuall enter fails because you cannot input the above address (\\central\HPlaserj). Can only enter HPLaserj for the address, which obviously does not work.
    f. When the installation did show a list of drivers, the only one I found was a universal PCL 6, which is what I thought I was trying to download originally.
This set up worked successfully with the Windows 7 64 bit. It appears I need help from a lot more expertise than I have to walk me through this set up.
    This question was solved.
