Content Conversion- Help

Hello Friends,
  I need a help from you guys to achive simple scenario. My output XML file is in the foll structure (for ex):
     <Test_XML>
      <Data1>Welcome1</Data1>
      <Data2>Welcome2</Data2>
     </Test_XML>
I'm using Content conversion to write to file.At the time of writing I don't need <Data1> element to be written on the file. Is there any possiblities?
Best Rgds,
J.

Hi,
     Depends upon the occurences of the field on the target side..If it is (0...unbounded) or (0...1) then this elimination is possible by writing one User defined Function.
Source -> UDF -> Target Node
Select UDF Type as Queue.
Use result.addValue(ResultList.SUPPRESS)
2nd Case: If you require data1 to be configured on the Receiver Adapter as Variable substitution then the UDF is to be written to map left root node with the right root node, So no need of this field to be appeared in the target structure only.

    Would you please let me know how the datatype has to look like?
    And especially how the FCC has to be configured for this scenario?

    >
    > but with de fieldseparator 0X09 it does not work,
    > would you please tell me the complete FCC config not only the fieldSeparation line?
    Well Christian,
    There is one thing, eithere you can use fieldSeparator or fieldFixedLengths you can not use both together. So in your case do not use fieldSeparator.
    The complete FCC is almost same as given in the blog in my previous reply. See the final output in that blog and create your data type accordingly. e.g.
    Recordset
    ------Item 0...unbound
    --------Field1 0..1
    --------Field2 0..1
    --------Field3 0..1
    --------Field8 0..1

  • Need Help in Sender File Content Conversion

    Hi All,
    I request your expert advice on Sender File content Conversion. I need to process the below pasted file. I was able to achieve this by keeping a offset of 6 in Sender PI File Adapter (PI 7.1) to ignore first 6 lines and used a Unix script to remove last line"END OF REPORT".
    Now my new requirement is I need to capture the date "DECEMBER 2009" from line 3. How can I do this. I have set offset as 6 so Adapter will start processing from line 7. If I don't set offset Interface fails. Please suggest. Thank you.

    If the inbound structure has less fields than specified in the configuration then the XML outbound structure is created as follows:
    ○ ignore
    Outbound structure only contains the fields in the inbound structure
    ○ add
    Outbound structure contains all fields from the configuration; the fields missing in the inbound structure are empty.
    ○ error
    Conversion is terminated due to the incomplete inbound structure. An error message is displayed.
    2. NameA.additionalLastFields
    If the inbound structure has more fields than specified in the configuration then the XML outbound structure is created as follows:
    ○ ignore
    Outbound structure only contains the fields in the inbound structure
    ○ error
    Conversion is terminated due to the incomplete inbound structure. An error message is displayed.
    The default value is ignore. If you have defined the NameA.fieldFixedLengths parameter, the default value is error.
    If you have defined the NameA.fieldFixedLengths parameter and do not set either of the parameters described above, apart from the default values, the conversion routine works the same as described under Handling Structure Deviations.
    Only once you set one of the two parameters will the other parameter be evaluated with its default value.
    To ensure a well-defined runtime behavior for variable inbound structures, we recommend that you always set both parameters.

  • Content Conversion Parameter- Help

    Dear Friends,
    I have a quick question regarding content conversion paramter.
    My structure is as follows
    <MT_Root>
    <Statement_response>
    <row>
    <Value1>ABC</Value1>
    <Value2>CDE</Value2>
    <Value3/>
    </row>
    <row>
    <Value1>DATA</Value1>
    <Value2>TEST</Value2>
    <Value3/>
    </row>
    <row>
    <Value1>CHECK</Value1>
    <Value2>OUT</Value2>
    <Value3/>
    </row>
    </Statement_response>
    </MT_Root>
    In the receiver adapter i'm using
    Record Structure :MT_Root,Statement_response,row
    row.fieldSeparator ,
    Statement_response.endSeparator 'nl'
    Statement_response.fieldSeparator 'nl'
    Everything is fine , if you see the o/p file there are lot of spaces appened between each fields. I don't want the spaces.
    If you guys help me out, I'll really appreciate it!!
    Thanks,
    raj.

    hi,
    possibly you could use small lengths while passing the data to file in FCC parameters.
    i.e fixedfieldlengths.
    also use the TooShortHandlingfield parameter with value "cut". it will ignore the large length of the fields and cut it down as per the values.
    Plesae refer below link for usage of these parameters,

  • Content conversion Vs  Module (MessageTransformBean) - help?

    Hi All,
    Scenario- File Sender, reading file (header,data,*,trailer)
    when should we use standard content conversion, Module (MessageTransformBean) ?
    I need to generate complex XML structure from flat-file records.
    Source (using some key value to identify header/data/trailer)
    header
    data-record
    data-record
    trailer
    Target (nested structe - not sure how to do nested part using content conversion)
    <message_mt>
    <record>
    <header>
       <key>
       <info>
           <key1/>
            <key2/>
       </info>
    </header>
    <partner>
       <parvw/>
        <par1/>
    </partner>
    <line-ite>
      .. details ..
    </line-item>
    </record>
    <message_mt>
    I looked at all the logs related to this, how-to docs as well, no where mentioned how to create nested structures, most of them are flat structure
    Can anyone advise me how to do this and when should i use content coversion, module and why?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks

    The content conversion in file adapter and module 'MessageTransformBean' are similar. Therefore you use the module in file adapter only, when you want to write an adapter module which works on the plain text structure before the conversion. Mostly you use the 'MessageTransformBean' in other adapters like JMS- or Mail adapter, where no content conversion is possible by default.
    The content conversion is not able to create a nested structure. You have to create a flat structure first, then create a nested structure with mapping.

  • Help to Receiver Content Conversion

    Hi, i am facing IDoc2File Scenaio.
    This file should be a .txt and only should have six numbers.
    Incoming is an IDoc with the payload:
    <ZPP_EDI_TAFEL SEGMENT="1">
      <TAFNR>1</TAFNR>
      <DATEI>ERGB.TXT</DATEI>
      <TAFIST>014</TAFIST>
      <TAFSOLL>020</TAFSOLL>
    </ZPP_EDI_TAFEL>
    This should be converted into a flat file with content of teh values from TAFNR and TAFIST. It should look like: 014020
    I am trying to achieve this with the Content Conversion in the ReceiverAdapter.
    in ID is the message type:
    MT_Tafel
    -Tafel_recordset
    --Tafel_Details_Structure
    ---TAFIST
    ---TAFSOLL
    In my understanding it's like recordset Structure is: Tafel_Details_Structure
    So my Parameters look like:
    Tafel_Details_Structure.fieldSeperator = ,
    Tafel_Details_Structure.endSeperator = 'nl'
    Tafel_Details_Structure.fieldNames = TAFIST,TAFSOLL
    funny thing is, that after sending the IDoc the txt file contains:
    <ns0:MT_Tafel xmlns:ns0="http://www.ips.com/jsn/HatzIDoc">
      <SEGMENT>1</SEGMENT>
      <TAFNR>1</TAFNR>
      <DATEI>ERGB.TXT</DATEI>
      <TAFIST>014</TAFIST>
      <TAFSOLL>020</TAFSOLL>
      </ns0:MT_Tafel>
    So there is no content conversion at all. Can someone help?!

  • Help required File Content Conversion.

    Hi All,
    Kindly help me in this topic i.e. File Content Conversion.
    -  What is File Content Conversion?
    -  Is knowledge of any programming language required?
    -  What is its function?
    -  How do I use it?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Sreedhar, Av

    Hi Sreedhar,
    Reward points if this helps
    What is File Content Conversion?
    File content conversion is used for converting flat files (fixed lenght, comma seperated) into XML messages for further processing by an integration engine. The internal XI processing (mapping, routing etc) is based on XML messages hence you need messages to be converted to XML.
    SAP By default understands xml data structure. If your file is coming in an xml format you can process it as it is.
    In case of file that is coming with a delimiter then you need to have File content conversion for SAP adpater to conver file into an XML structure which will then go to next step of Message Mapping.
    Is knowledge of any programming language required?
    No
    What is its function?
    Check these blogs for content conversion,

  • Required help for Identifying diff. items in file content conversion.

    Hi All,
    I've to use a file content conversion parameters for a .txt file in which there are two objects. One is a header and the other is a item detail.
    How do we get or mark the difference between both so that XI recognizes the particular line is a Header and the other is a Item detail
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Sree.

    Hi
    Make use of a field which is common to header and item line which will always hold different values for header and item. Or otherwise if possible, add an extra field in the header and item lines, say 'Key' and use it in the 'Key Field Name' parameter in the adapter configuration. See this for details - [File Content Conversion for Complex Structures|http://www.riyaz.net/blog/index.php/2008/02/20/xipi-file-content-conversion-for-complex-structures/].

    Hi.
    Try this.
    First you need to use a message mapping  and create a target structure to convert a similar output  structure that do you want.  like this
    <Target>
    --  Field1
    --  Field2
    --  Field3
    --  Field4
    --  Field5
    --  Field6
    --  Field7
    --  Field8
    --  Field9
    </Target>.
    Then map
    keyfield1-> Field 1 ,keyfield2-> Field 2 , keyfield 3---> Field 3
    map  field1-> field4 .. for the others fields duplicate the Target node (right click)  and  map map  field2-> field5 ..etc.
    For the field 5 until field 9 map with constant ("'')
    Then in you receiver comunication channel put simple parameters.
    Target.fieldSeparator = |
    Target.endSeparator = 'nl'
