Content Conversion - How to Remove Trailer

Hi there.
I am having difficulty identifying the correct parameters to enable me to remove the trailer of a text file. The file will have a random number of data rows and there is no "key" field to identify these rows. The Trailer rows are however are fixed values. Sample file below:
DATA==>         FNX7 Comdty|0|12|013
DATA==>         FNZ7 Comdty|0|12|
TRAILER1==>  END-OF-DATA
TRAILER2==>  TIMEFINISHED
TRAILER3==>  END-OF-FILE
I would appreciate any help on how to configure the Content Conversion Parameters to ignore the trailer. I have looked online and have seen many scenarios, but all involve a level of "Key Identifying" which I cannot do for the Data Fields. Is there any parameters to allow me to ignore the trailer fields??
Regards.
Mick.

  • File Sender, Content Conversion - how to define variable length last field?

    XI 3.0 SP17
    With a File Sender communication channel, that uses Content Conversion - how do I define a 'variable length' last field?
    The scenario - the input file has four fields, of which the first three are a known fixed length, and the last (fourth, trailing) field is variable in length.
    Using a Message Protocol of 'File Content Conversion', how do I define that last variable length field (field name 'WOData' below) in the Content Conversion Parameters section?
    My current parameters are:
    Recordset Structure  -  Row,*
    ignoreRecordsetName  -  true
    Row.fieldFixedLengths  -  1,12,5,99999
    Row.fieldNames  -  WOType,WONum,WOLine,WOData
    I've tried the following for 'Row.fieldFixedLengths' to no avail -
    '1,12,5,*'
    '1,12,5,0'
    '1,12,5,'
    '1,12,5'
    The last two were grasping at straws )
    The only thing I've got to work is specifying a 'large' value for the final field (99999 above).
    In addition, does anyone know if specifying a large value (e.g. 99999) for the final trailing field will give rise to performance issues when the file is being processed?
    In the help for "Converting File Content in a Sender Adapter", it states -
    <Begin Quote>
    NameA.fieldFixedLengths
    If you make a specification here, the system expects a character string that contains the lengths of the structure columns as arguments separated by commas.
    If you also specify a separator for the columns, you must not add its length to the length of the columns.
    This entry is mandatory if you have not made an entry for NameA.fieldSeparator.
    <End Quote>

    Hi Shabarish,
    Yes, no wildcard is the conclusion I came to, hence my maximum )
    The message size did not increase by any 'blank padding'.  When I look in [Message Display Tool (Detail Display)] 'Audit Log for Message: X'  -
    2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Channel X: Entire file content converted to XML format
    2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Send binary file  "X" from FTP server "X", size 103290 bytes with QoS EO

    2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Trying to put the message into the send queue.
    2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Message successfully put into the queue.
    2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success The application sent the message asynchronously using connection AFW. Returning to application.
    The input flat file in non-XML format was 92,132 bytes and the message payload into XI was 103,290 bytes.
    My understanding is that trailing spaces are stripped from XML nodes.

    Hi,
    I was able to resolve this issue with some java code that performed some encode/decode of base64 data (MFL data that was supplied to the java callout turns out to be an array of byte data).  After decoding the data I performed the following:
    - found the string length
    - identified if the string ended with the special charater, which in my case was '\x03'
    - concatenated the string with the system version of a new line value.
    Thanks,

  • How to remove trailing zeros using EngineeringFormatInfo?

    HI,
    I found a measurement studio formatter for SI notation.
    For details, see the NI document.
    Here, I want to know how to remove any trailing zeros. I could not find any information about this.
    For example,
    code : string result = string.Format(EngineeringFormatInfo.Default, {0:s5}, double value)
    if  value = 1.2345678E-3,  result is 1.23457E-3. It is ok.
    if  value = 1.2E-3,  result is 1.20000E-3. But I want to get "1.23m".
    In labview, I usually use "%#.5p" format string.

    I don't understand how you are getting 1.23457E-3 ?  And claiming that is okay.
    If you are using the format string that you claim you are using, then you should be getting 1.23457m.
    It sounds like you are using string result = string.Format(EngineeringFormatInfo.Default, {0:E5}, value)

    Thanks a lot for the helpful info

    You can use the trunc function to remove the decimal places.
    Syntax: trunc( number, [ decimal_places ] )
              <number> is the number to truncate.
             <decimal_places> is the number of decimal places to truncate to. This value must be an integer. If this parameter is omitted, the trunc function will truncate the number to 0 decimal places.
    Eg:     trunc(125.815)  would return 125
              trunc(125.815,0)  would return 125
              trunc(125.815,1)  would return 125.8
             trunc(125.815,2)  would return 125.81
             trunc(125.815,-1)  would return 120

  • How to remove trailing space at the end of a song.

    This is related to this thread: Shorten song length (remove trailing bars) in Garageband 10.0.1
    I have also done some Googling and have found some links related to selecting and exporting regions, which I have tried, but this is what I noticed.
    It does not work when I select certain instruments, eg Synthesizer - Soundscape - Subtle Shiftscape or Synthesizer - Lead - Screamlead. I believe that what is happening is that those sounds tend to have some additional length to it. No matter where I cut my region, the additional length still get added. I don't have that problem if I don't select those instruments.
    Anybody has any ideas?

    Are you using GB 10.0.2 as well?
    I am using both - GarageBand 10.0.2 and GarageBand '11.
    And if I deselect all regions, File - Add Region to loop library is of course greyed out. Is it possible to save multiple tracks as a loop?
    No.
    Yep, I've deselected all regions. Still no luck.
    My answer above was in answer to your "This time GB felt I only needed the first 4 measures of the song, even though I defined an entire Region over the length of the song and selected everything with Ctrl-A..."
    You should be able to export the complete song, if you deselect all regions, and select all of the song using the cycle region with "Export Cycle region only" enabled, or with "Export Cycle region only" disabled, nothing selected, and the end-of-song marker correctly set.
    However, this will not get rid of the trailing empty bars.
    Reimport the bounced song to a new Ringtone project and trim it and save it as a tone, or to a regular project and add it to the Loop Library.
    Find the AIFF file of the loop in the Loop library - it will be installed in your User Library in your Home folder
    ~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/SingleFiles/

    Hi,
    do you need LTRIM/RTRIM? This is namely your problem. By using a function around your column Oracle reserves the maximum lenght for the column. So what do you get without those functions? Furthermore you are concatenating all the columns. This is also a function. For getting '|' in between columns you can also set a seperator by using
    set colsep '|'Herald ten Dam

    Hi,
    Its good that u pasted the complete log file. In your environment you have to run this upgrade tool only once from any of the middle tier.
    And with respect to your error that u got in precheck is quite simple. All u have to do is just run this script from by connecting to portal schema using sqlplus.
    Run dropupg.sql
    Location-------- /raid/product/OraHome_1/upgrade/temp/portal/prechktmp/dropupg.sql
    Later you re-run the upgrade tool and let me know the status.
    Good luck

  • How to remove trailing zeros from a decimal (type) value?

    Hi Everyone,
    I would like to 'drop' some trailing zeros from a decimal value, e.g.: 50.000000, and I am wondering how to go about this?
    The value is definitely of decimal type, and in this instance I know that I want to eliminate exactly six (6) zeros.
    Any help here will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,

    Try the below:
    This is sort of a display issue, you may do it at Application side, which would be efficient.
    Declare @s Decimal(10,6)='50.0000000'
    Select Cast(@s as decimal(10,0))

    I've tried replace but that didn't work also reading you can't use regexpr_replace with a negative value.It's unclear what you mean.
    In regular expressions, a pattern can be anchored to the end of the string, like this
    REGEXP_REPLACE ( str
                , CHR (10) || '$'
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
