Content conversion
Hi,
what is the role of different content conversion parameters:
Doc name
doc namespace
dos offset
recordset name
Make the following entries for the document:
● Under Document Name, enter the name of the XML document.
The document name is inserted in the message as the main XML tag. This is mandatory for the mapping.
● Under Document Namespace, enter the namespace of the document.
The namespace is added to the name of the document. This is mandatory for the mapping.
● Under Document Offset, specify the number of lines that are to be ignored at the beginning of the document.
This enables you to skip comment lines or column names during processing. If you do not make an entry, the default value is zero lines.
● Under Recordset Name, enter the name of the structure:
It is included in the XML schema.
● Under Recordset Namespace, enter the namespace of the structure:
It is appended to the name of the structure.
● Under Recordset Structure, enter the sequence and the number of substructures as follows: <NameA,nA,NameB,nB,...>.
Therefore, nA=1,2,3,... or * (for a variable, unlimited number, including 0).
● Under Recordset Sequence, select how the start and end of recordsets with a variable number and sequence of structures is to be determined:
○ Ascending
The sequence of the recordset structures is assumed to be unique. A new recordset is started as soon as an earlier structure occurs.
○ Variable
The sequence of the recordset structures is assumed not to be fixed. A new recordset is only started when another structure occurs that is defined with a fixed number. If all structures are defined as variable the system interprets the entire document as a single recordset.
● Under Recordsets per Message, specify the number of recordsets to be grouped together in a message. This entry is optional. The default value is *. In the default setting, all recordsets are included in a message.
If the number of recordsets in a document is greater than the number specified, then the adapter creates multiple messages from a document. The last message might then contain fewer recordsets than specified.
If you specify Exactly Once as the quality of service (see below), each of these messages (that is to say, each part of a document from which a message is created) is sent to the Integration Server/PCK exactly once. This is also true if the application is interrupted while creating the messages and restarted again later.
● Key Field Name
If you specified a variable number of substructures for Recordset Structure, in other words, at least one substructure has the value *, then the substructures must be identified by the parser from their content. A key field must be set with different constants for the substructures. In this case, you must specify a key field, and the field name must occur in all substructures.
● Specify the Key Field Type to be used to compare the predefined values. This entry is used if the key field name is defined.
Set the parameters for all the specified recordset structures NameA, NameB, and so on in the following table
Simple words:
Doc Name: Mesage type name
doc namespace : Message type Namespace
Docoffset: which line number from which the file adapter should pick
recordsername: root node in your DT
all these parameters are used by the sende file adpter to built the XML

FIle Content Conversion Problem in IDOC-XI-File Scenario
Dear All,
I am doing IDOC-XI-FILE scenario.
I am facing one problem related to File Content Coversion.My requirement was to generate a dynamic file like <b>%store_code%_%current_date%_sitemaster.xml</b> , I have completed the dynamic generation successfully .
Now there is slight change in the requirement ,<b>we have to suppress the current_date node of the xml content</b> . i have tried to suppress the current_date using these <b>DATE.fieldFixedLengths 0 , Date.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut</b> , But I am unable to suppress it Can some body provide me the details on this .
The output xml version generated by Reciever file adapter is as below :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
- <SITE_DATA>
<STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
<TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
<STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
<STREET>Chennai</STREET>
<COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
<SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
</SITE_DATA>
</ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
Plz provide me the code I have to write in the file content conversion .
Thanks in advance
Regards
PrabhatIf u see my earlier reply, I mentioned that u can not suppress the field from the one node.i.e Form SITE_DATA data type u can not suppress the field called CURRENT_DATE.
My suggestion is that , modify the Data type in such a way that you will be having two nodes as I have mentioned earlier. Then use the Suppress Logic for the Current Date.
So it will look like this-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
- <SITE_DATA>
<STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
<TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
<STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
<STREET>Chennai</STREET>
<COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
<SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
</SITE_DATA>
<CURR_DATE>
<CURRENT_DATE>20051105</CURRENT_DATE>
</CURR_DATE>
</ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
So ur SITE_DATA is not having a field called CURRENT_DATE. This field is in separate node (segment ) called CURR_DATE. Now u can use the Suppress Logic for the same like this.
CURR_DATE.fieldFixedLengths - 0
CURR_DATE.fixedLengthTooShortHanling - Cut
And in your Variable Substitution you can use the date from the other segment called CURR_DATE.
Hope this solves ur problem.

File Sender Content Conversion: Help needed
Hello Experts,
i need help with file sender content conversion:
i have a file which looks like this:
12329460 24.01.09/07:01 167 Y010122851 136086 43300007 E70115 1L2_96_1

as you can see 8 fields, separated with whitespaces
and i want and xml file which looks like this:
<DT_DATA_FILESENDER>
<Recordset>
<Data>
<field1>12329460</field1>
<field2>24.01.09/07:01</field2>

<field5>136086</field5>
<field6>43300007</field6>
<field7>E70115</field7>
<field8>1L2_96_1</field8
</Data>

<field6>43390007</field6>
<field7>E711J5</field7>
<field8>1L2_96_1</field8
</Data>
</Recordset>
Would you please let me know how the datatype has to look like?
And especially how the FCC has to be configured for this scenario?
Thanks in advance,
Chris> With fixed lengths i get it working,
>
> but with de fieldseparator 0X09 it does not work,
> would you please tell me the complete FCC config not only the fieldSeparation line?
Well Christian,
There is one thing, eithere you can use fieldSeparator or fieldFixedLengths you can not use both together. So in your case do not use fieldSeparator.
The complete FCC is almost same as given in the blog in my previous reply. See the final output in that blog and create your data type accordingly. e.g.
Recordset
------Item 0...unbound
--------Field1 0..1
--------Field2 0..1
--------Field3 0..1
--------Field8 0..1

</SEND>
</ns0:MT_send
As per the client req I'm going with FCC. The file is picking fine with the FILE. But not picking with the FCC.
The parameters which I gave are as follows.
SOURCE I feel it is fine since file is picking fine and keeping the same for FCC also.
PROCESSING
QOS -- Exactly Once
Poll Interval -- 10
Processing Mode -- Delete
Empty-File Handling -- Process empty files
CONTENT CONVERSION Parameters
Document Name -- (am giving sender data type name) DT_send
Document NSpace -- http://OTO-Continue.com
Recordset Name -- SEND
Recordset Structure -- SEND,*
Recordset Sequence -- Ascending
Recordset per Message -- 0
And in the table the parameters am settings are
SEND.fieldNames abc,bcd,cde,def,efg,ghk
SEND.fieldFixedLengths 7,7,7,7,7,7 (because each and every field has 7 characters)
SEND.keepIncompleteFields No
SEND.fieldFixedLengthType char
SEND.fieldContentFormatting trim
SEND.fieldEndSeparator 'nl'
This was the configuration. But this is not working I monitored the Communication Channel and file is not reading and not getting deleting.
What actually went wrong in above configuration. Why it is not working.

There is no root node, so in your FCC you need to mention your RecordsetName and you can ignoreRecordSetName in result structure. Check the following blog simulates your requirement.

| 0209 | DERBY LINE, VT
| 0211 | NORTON, VT
| 0212 | HIGHGATE SPRINGS/ALBURGsince in this case you dont seem to have a key value to figure out what your header is, it is better to go for a two level mapping. i.e first read all the data - each line as an xml tag. and in the first mapping group it as required and then use it for your original mapping.

Problem in file content conversion from XML to CSV
Hi Experts,
I am finding problem in file content conversion. I need to convert the following XML file into CSV file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_CROSS_REF xmlns:ns0="urn:dabur:idoc2file:pos">
<Update_type>2</Update_type>
<PLU>00000000</PLU>
<Cross_ref_PLU>7777777</Cross_ref_PLU>
<Capture_PLU />
<Package_size />
<Package_desc />
</ns0:MT_CROSS_REF>
The output file data has to be like:
2,00000000,7777777,,,,
The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator ,
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator 'nl'
i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.
Thanks,
Regards,
YashHi Chirag,
I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.
I hope you got my point.
Thanks,

Complex file content conversion in case of CSV file
Hi Friends,
What you see below is generated from Excel i.e excel file saved as CSV file. This file i need to map in XI.
Problem is i have to take only the data and not the header part.
for e.g in this particular line
Employee ID :,,E00315
I need only E0315 and not the header value. Similarly i have to find some solution to map all the required data.
Please suggest me how to use file content conversion in such scenarios.
Solution is required on top priority. Points will be immdly rewarded.
Thanks & Regards

Problem with File Content Conversion
Hi All
I am facing a problem with file content conversion.
This is my sample file structure:
Header_Record (Occurance - 1)
Field1 in Header
Field2 in Header

Field3 in Item
Field4 in Item

<<ItemTypeCategory>> (Structure in ItemType)(Occ - 0 to n)

<<<<Field8>>>> in ItemTypeCategory
Footer_Record (Occurance-1)
Field9
Field10
There is a key field 'Type' in all the above records with unique value in each record.
Now, I defined Field content conversion as follows:
Recordset Structure: Header_Record,1,Item, * , ItemType, * ,ItemTypeCategory, * ,Footer_Record,1
Recordset Sequence: Ascending
KeyField Name: Type
Following are parameters defiled:
Header_Record.Keyfieldvalue: 00
Header_Record.fieldseperator: ,
Header_Record.fieldnames: Field1,Field2
Header_Record.endseperator: 'nl'
Item.keyfieldvalue: 05
item.fieldseperator: ,
item.fieldfieldnames: field3,field4
item.endseperator: 'nl'
ItemType.keyfieldvalue: 10
itemType.fieldseperator: ,
itemType.fieldfieldnames: field5,field6
itemType.endseperator: 'nl'

itemTypecategory.endseperator: 'nl'
Footer.keyfieldvalue: 20
Footer.fieldseperator: ,
Footer.fieldfieldnames: field5,field6
Footer.endseperator: 'nl'
Now, i pass the following file:
00,111
05,222
10,333
15,444
20,555
What i expect out of my FCC is this (Sample output to show the hierarchy of field values):
00,111
05,222
<<10,333>>
<<<<15,444>>>>
20,555
But, I am getting this output (Hierarchy is missing. All the structures are in the same order without hierarchy):
00,111
05,222
10,333
15,444
20,555
Field values are being identified according to field content conversion, but, the hierarchy of the fields is missing.
Can you please tell me how should i change my FCC config?
Sorry for this long question.
Many Thanks
Chandra

Problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter
Hi All
I have a problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter.
This is my recordset structure: Header_Record,1,Claim_Record,*,Check_Rec,1
These are the content conversion parameters:
Header_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Header_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Claim_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Claim_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Check_Rec.fieldSeparator = ,
Check_Rec.endSeparator = 'nl'
In SXMB_MONI, i can see that the data is correctly extracted from proxy, and correctly mapped to receiver message, and i see a checkered flag (success).
But, Adapter status is RED with the following error message:
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter '1.fieldFixedLengths' or '1.fieldSeparator' is missing
In communication channel monitoring, i get the following error message:
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has not been correctly initialized and cannot process messages
What is going wrong here? Can anyone please tell me?
Thanks

Content Conversion in receiver channel
Hi all,
I have a proxy to FTP scenario with no mapping involved.Over proxy communication PI is receiving the data, I am creating the CSV file using content conversion in receiver channel and placing the file at FTP.
The file name is coming in one of the field of the input xml,I am using variable substitution and setting the file name from that particular field value.But as I don't want that node and file name element in my output file content, please guide me what parameters can I set in my content conversion to remove the FileNode from o/p csv file.
The sample input xml is
<MT>
<Record>
<Field1>1</Filed1>
<Field2>2</Filed2>
</Record>
<Record>
<Field1>3</Filed1>
<Field2>4</Filed2>
</Record>
<FileNode>
<FileName>InutFile</FileName>
</FileNode>
</MT>
I want output xml to be like
1,2
3,4
I have followed this blog /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12 to cut the FileNode, but it gives an error in cc parameters.
In my actual i/p payload,the Record is 0..unbounded and there are 50 sub elements inside Record element.
Please provide your inputs.
Thanks,
RuchiHi Ruchi,
Change your structure like this.
MT>
<Record>
<Field1>1</Filed1>
<Field2>2</Filed2>
</Record>
<Record>
<Field1>3</Filed1>
<Field2>4</Filed2>
</Record>
<FileNode>
<FileName>InutFile</FileName>
</FileNode>
</MT>
Dont put the filenode under Record.
Also Add the below parameters.
FileNode.fieldSeparator '0'
FileNode.endSeparator '0'
FileNode.fieldFixedLengths 0
FileNode.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut
FileNode.fieldNames FileName
Now use the same parameter mentioned in the blog .Your problem will be resolved. -
Receiver File Adapter: Problem with NewLine Content Conversion Parameter
Hello Everybody
On our SAP-XI (SAP NetWeaver 2004s, sp14) I have the scenario to send a price catalogue (IDoc PRICECATALOGUE.PRICECATALOGUE02) from SAP R/3 as csv PRICAT file to a file share.
In the receiver communication channel I have defined
Message Protocol = File Content Conversion
using the following RecordSet:
RecordSet = HeaderRow,MainBody
One header row is followed by one or more main body rows. The csv PRICAT message format demands that there is an empty row (i.e. one carriage return) between header and main body and another carriage return after the last main body row:
<Header Row>
carriage return
<MainBody 1>
<MainBody 2>
carriage return
As content conversion parameters I tried to use NewLine ('nl') to create the carriage returns in the file:
HeaderRow.fieldSeparator = ,
HeaderRow.endSeparator = 'nl' " new line
MainBody.fieldSeparator = ,
MainBody.endSeparator = 'nl'
Using the settings I have been able to created the carriage return at the end of the file but not the one between header and main body.
As workaround I have used the following approach:
" Add the following XSLT mapping between header and body:
<SeparatorLine>
<value>
<xsl:value-of select=" '' "/>
</value>
</SeparatorLine>
RecordSet and parameters have been changed accordingly:
RecordSet = HeaderRow,SeparatorLine,MainBody
HeaderRow.fieldSeparator = ,
HeaderRow.endSeparator = 'nl'
SeparatorLine.fieldFixedLength = 0,0 " sic!
MainBody.fieldSeparator = ,
MainBody.endSeparator = 'nl'
Has anybody an idea why I failed to receive the first carriage return and has somebody a more elegant solution?
Kind Regards
UweHi,
Thanks for reply. I have already used 'nl'.
When i open into the notepad it is showing [] boxes rather then new line.
e.g. 1 [] 2 []
but when we open into wordpad it opens properly.
Customer wants when he opens in notepad it should show line by line.
e.g.
1
2
How should i convince to customer ? -
Error in Receiver File adapter using File content Conversion
Hi,
I am getting the following error in the receiver file adapter.
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'statement.fieldFixedLengths' or 'statement.fieldSeparator' is missing
I am using the below parameters for FCC:
Recordset Structure - statement
statement.endSeparator - 'nl'
statement.fieldSeparator - '0X09'
statement.fieldNames -xblnr,wrbtr,newbs,kostl,newko,prctr,xref1,rke_wwfud,rke_wwst3,blart,bukrs,bldate,budat,gjahr,monat,ctype,waers,bktxt,posnr,wbs_element,mwxkz,businessplace,businessplace,c_waers,c_wrbtr,g_ctype,g_waers,g_wrbtr,h_ctype,h_waers,h_wrbtr,trade_id,lob,sgtxt,zuonr,reason_rev,ldgrp,tcode,lifnr
ignoreRecordsetName - true
Please let me know where i am going wrong.
Thanks,
AparnaHi Aparna,
I feel the problem in your content conversion parameters is with
statement.fieldNames and ignoreRecordsetName
When you are confirguring receiver file adapter for file content conversion the above one is not required. Please refer below link for details on configuring content conversion in file adapter
[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm]
Hope this helps !!

Problems with content conversion in File Receiver Adapter
Hello, everybody.
I have a RFC-to-File scenario with file content conversion. Everything is working well except that my file is generated with 2 blank lines at the top of it.
The function module has 3 importing parameters (1 optional) and the file content comes from an internal table.
Is it caused by the function module parameters? If yes, how can I avoid this, once I really need them? If not, does anyone have any idea?
Thanks a lot,
Marcos.Hi, Raj.
Here they are the function module parameters:
Importing parameters:
ICARRIER TYPE CHAR1
FPATH TYPE IPATH
IFILE LIKE VBAK-BNAME
Tables
IYLASDS_RECPT LIKE YLASDS_RECPT
The structure YLASDS_RECPT has only one field with a single line of the file. I am using this field as the <i>Recordset Name</i> inside file adpater parameters.
There is no mapping between RFC and FTP messages.
Thanks a lot,
Marcos.
