Content disappeared

Hi. After updating my ipod touch to the 3rd OS, my music and video files disappeared. And it says that there is no content in the ipod. But when i plug it in to itunes, under the ipod touch tab, it shows the files and playlists. And i can even play the music from there despite my computer not having these particular songs. I manually managed my files, so is there any way that i can retrieve them back again?

I have a similar problem only with my iPhone, i didn't upgrade or install any new firmware, just bought some music from itunes and now I am missing some of my previous content from before, hopefully one of us gets a answer soon. good luck

Flex 3 project, all visible content disappears

This is a bit hard to describe. It's a complex Flex app for a realtime multiplayer game using socket connections. Previously, everything worked fine, but after some recent changes there is a point where all visible content disappears.
What is REALLY odd is that this ONLY happens when the SWF is embedded in an HTML page. If the SWF is loaded directly by the browser, either locally using file:/// or served by a webserver (i.e. http://localhost:8080/swfs/MySwf.swf) then the SWF works as expected and transitions to the next state without a problem.
Also of note is that no error is thrown and, yes, I have the debug version of flash installed and can see popup errors by intentionally causing them to test.
I'm at a loss for how to debug this. I started by commenting out all sections of the code that had recently changed, but the problem persisted. Since then, I'm shooting in the dark, commenting out sections and testing. For a bit, I thought the problem might be with the embed code itself, but I'm using the default generated by Flex Builder and it has not changed in the past 10 months that the last version of this SWF was working. I've tried using every alternate window mode, but that didn't change anything.
I've been testing mainly in Safari 4 (OS X), but tried Firefox 3.5 to confirm that the problem wasn't mac-browser specific, and tried Firefox 3 (Ubuntu) to confirm it wasn't OS specific.
Does anybody know, on a high level, what could cause this kind of problem? Specifically...
1) What can cause the display to suddenly clear?
2) What differences are there between running the SWF directly (even loaded from a webserver, so it's not local content) that could affect rendering?
3) Any other advice on things to try?
Attached are two images:
(a) the one with content elements is the desired effect, and was the result of loading the swf directly, and
(b) the one with just the plain background image is the result at the same step but embedded in an HTML page

Thanks for the suggestion Barna. I've been doing that, though, and discovered that the code continues to run in the background, not having hit any error. I literally had logging statements between every line of code in the function where the content disappears, and every logging statement was output as it should be.
So, I tried executing a different function that does nothing but change the current state instead, and the problem still occurred.
The keys points thus far are:
(1) no error messages thrown
(2) no errors in the AS3 code
(3) but a call to currentState = "lobby" (which is the next desired state) causes the contents of the display to vanish
(4) again, only happens when embedded
If there is an error, it seems to be in the state change... which is MXML, so I can't log output there, but I'll see if commenting out particular element(s) or changes will shed some light on where an error might be...

Page content disappears in Edit mode - Custom Master Page

Hi All,
Below are the two issues I have with my master page.
1) I am facing the strange issue with the pages created using custom page layouts and custom master page.
In browse mode, everything looks perfect and as expected. But when I try to edit the same page, all content disappears as soon as page ribbon appears. When I click back on Browse tab on the ribbon, everything appears back normally.
2) Also When I apply my custom master page as site master for Publishing site it works I can see all my custom design and layout. But when I apply same for team sites, unless I change system master to my custom master page, it doesn't reflect my design.
Does anyone face this issue before?

Once in edit mode, are you able to view the page's source and do a "Find" on a certain keyword that should normally appear in your page's content? Is it there?
I'm trying to determine if its a server side issue with your master page's code that's causing the content not to be sent back across the wire to the user or if the content is there but just not properly presented. Thanks

Content disappears once Lifetime (Time-Based Publishing) is enabled

We have transported KM content from our Dev KM to our QA KM. We noticed that the Lifetime setting of the folder was not transported, so we enabled it on the folder in QA. Once the lifetime is enabled in QA, the content disappears from the iView display. On our Dev KM, it is working correctly.
We checked the content and each has Valid-to and Valid-from fields set the same as it is in Dev. They should be displaying as they do in Dev.
The transport was done first using online ICE. When that did not work we did it again using offline ICE, transporting a .zip file from Dev to QA.
Any ideas as to what might be happening?
Both QA and Dev are EP 7.0 SPS 11.

If you transported the KM files with ICE, then the Application-Defined Properties
such as Valid From and Valid Until for time-dependent publishing are not transported due to limitations in ICE transport.

AdvancedDataGrid content disappearing when setting rendererProviders..

Thanks for the community support, really useful.
I am using the SDK 4.1.
Here is the explanation of my problem.I am using a detail renderer inside a ADG, which appears when clicking on a certain column.
This is done is AS3 (I mean not with mxlm tags), using the ADG rendererProviders property with an item renderer passed to a ClassFactory.
This is working ok, until a certain point..
Indeed, the grid contains many columns, with images item renderers and when I am horizontally scrolling through the column, a display bug make all the ADG content disappear.. Headers remain but all the data are gone. A user action that may update the data has to be done to make the data come back of course.
This bug seems to be known by a few, but unfortunately all the solutions are useless in my case (setting the property horizontalScrollPolicy = 'auto' for each column for instance).
After some research it appears that the line responsible for making the whole thing vanishing is the update of the variable rendererProviders:
ie this.rendererProviders.push(_detailRendererProvider);
In the AdvancedDataGrid.as class, the property setter, after updating its value of course make 2 other intructions :
invalidateSize();
invalidateDisplayList();
It seems this is a bit too much for the DG to handle (note that I call this.validateNow(); after the rendererProviders update in my code).
Note as well that if I do not set :
this.variableRowHeight = true;
An error pops up from the class AdvancedDataGridBaseEx in the configureScrollBars method, doing :
var headerPosX:int = lastHeaderInfo.headerItem.x;
(headerItem is null)
So, end of the day, I am stuck..

I don't know how but for the past three days iTunes has been functioning correctly.
I removed al my music files from the library and put them back to their original folder; reinstalled iTunes and let it go from there. I've decided not to copy my music folder to iTunes as it's now working "correctly." I haven't made any playlists or made any online purchases since reinstalling as I'm wary of it all going haywire again. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you updated on this matter.

Creating Page Layout Problem : Page Content Disappears

Hello,
I am a recent grad and new to the world of Sharepoint and ASP.
I created a Page Layout with 3 columns and I implemented the 'Page Content' in each column.
When I enter anything ( Text or HTML) in the Page Content and save, it immediately discards what I entered and saved.
What am I doing wrong?

According to your post, my understanding is that Page Content Disappears after you save the created Page Layout.
The issues is caused by that Page Layout is not assocaited with the content type.
Please make sure you create Page Layout correctly. You can refer to:

Flash content disappears - HELP

I have just gotten back to working on my XP machine and flash
content disappears after about 1 to 2 seconds. Even on the
Macromedia home page, the entire top of their page shows up and
goes away. I have read about the xp sp2 problems and I did recently
upgrade. I have read the fixes about there (i.e. pop up blocking
level, puting  in
the htm file...none of this works. Firefox works fine, IE doesn't.
When I publish with preview in the Flash IDE - no luck either.
Do my problems sound like they are related to XP sp2? If any
one out there has seen this type of behavior and has
suggests...many thanks in advance.

Content disappearing from Apple TV

I am running the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro and syncing this with Apple TV (also fully updated). I have noticed that purchased content disappears from the Apple TV, and in some cases, from the MacBook. For example, I have purchase a season of Stargate Atlantis, downloaded and successfully synced, but then the following day episodes 3 and 5 will be missing from iTunes and Apple TV. They still exist in the backup (within the music library under "TV Shows," but what gives? Why so buggy? Thanks in advance for any comments!!

Well nothing should ever disappear from iTunes, but for the AppleTV. Syncing doesn't really mean all content will always be there. It will sync, Movies, then TV, Music, then Photos in that order. If more spaces is needed for lets say a Movie, it will pull off photos, music, then TV shows in that priority order. The AppleTV I believe is going to try to save room on itself never knowing when you may download a rental or new content from the online store via the AppleTV. It will sync back content if there is room, if not then it will leave it on your computer and then stream when needed. Synced content just allows for faster access and access when computer is not on.

As soon as I transfer an email to a postbox, the content disappears

As soon as I drag an e-mail from my incoming box to a archive box, its content disappears. The mail header is still visible, but I cant read the message or attachments anymore.

Applet content disappears

Whenever I make applets. As soon as I minimize the applet or resize it or move any other window over the applet...the content of the applet disappears. can someone please tell me how to get rid of it and how to retain the contents of the applet even after it is minimized or resized. Thanks :)

1. The applet content disappears when I resize/minimize it.
2. I've tried to do it the MSpaint/Photoshop way. Where if you are drawing a Line/Shape then while the mouse is dragged ..the user gets an idea as to what is being drawn. So for that..for every new pixel position the mouse is dragged to, I've redrawn the previous shape in WHITE color. But then that gives me a problem that if a previous shape was already drawn at that position. It gets erased too. So I would like to rectify that too.
3. I Don't know how to use getGraphics to the fullest. [Guide me to a tutorial?]

Local folder content disappeared. How to recover the lost content?

local folder in Thunderbird was used to move messages from inbox.
Although local folder still in place, the contents disappeared.
(content was folders and subfolders )
Where would the lost contents be and how to recover?

Content disappear when use another mac to charge iPod

I am a new user of iPod, I loaded my ipod shuffle from a desktop Mac, then try to charge the iPod battery using a MacBook, then the content of all loaded songs disappear from iPod, I suspect it try to automatically sync with the songs in MacBook, but there is none in the MacBook.
If so, how can I stop this from happen, if not, does it mean that I can not connect my iPod to another computer to charge t?

As recommended, in Settings in iTunes, I UNchecked "Open Itunes when this iPod is connected" in both computers and click "Apply". but then when I connected it to MBP, the indicator amber light is blinking constantly, and I have to open the iTune, and then the light turns green, but the content was wiped out, the option for :"Open itunes when this iPod is connected" is indeed unchecked. so I am back to square one.
so I have to use decktop mac to load the music again. by the way, the reason I need to use MBP to charge the battry, is that the iPod when connected to desktop Mac has constant blinking amber light unless I plug it to MBP first, but then the content disappear.

Help! Event content disappears, but still remains in Finder package

Hi guys,
I'm totally stumped here. It seems FCP 10.1.1 has some sort of bug that makes content disappear. Here is what has been happening:
I upgraded back when 10.1 was released, and everything seemed fine. Around 10.1.1 I decided I wanted to move some things around. So I would click on an event inside of a Library, and I would drag it into another Library. Sometimes it would work great. Sometimes FCP would freeze, beachball, and fail. Sometimes I would leave it for 30 minutes or so just in case it was just doing something. I would eventually have to Force Quit.
The problem? The events that were to be moved didn't show up in the libraries they were supposed to go to. Not in FCP, and not in the Finder. Instead, they stayed where they were coming from. In FCP, these events no longer had any content in them. Also, they lost the purple star that would be next to events. If I went to that same event inside of the Library (Show Package Contents) ALL content was there. All the clips, the transcodes, the originals...everything. Yet, FCP wouldn't "see" it or display it.
I thought I had a workaround - copy the original files in those events to the desktop, then reimport them into a new event. Well, that does work IF it was an event that was waiting to be edited. But if it was mid-edit, of course, now all I have is the original clips, but no access to the project or edits.
And now, it seems to just "happen." I will quit FCP and then relaunch it again when I need it, and I will see another event or two in a library has lost its purple star and no longer has content in it! No idea why or what's causing it. I'm on a new Mac Pro, plenty of RAM (64GB), plenty of space, etc.
Additionally, when I quit FCP it's normally because the browser window stops updating. What I mean is, I am clicking around between events or libraries looking for clips to add to a project. Then, at some point (and this is random, haven't seen a patterns of it always occurring on any particular event) the browser gets "stuck" on an event. I can click on another event and it will be highlighted as active, but the browser window is still displaying the last event I was in. It isn't frozen, as I can still scroll, look at the clips, etc. At this point, no matter what other event I click on, I am "stuck" with the event browser displaying the contents of that event. So, then I have to quit the app and restart it...and I might find that another event has randomly lost all of its clips and projects.
Again - in the Finder if I go into the Library package and look in that event folder, EVERYTHING is still in there, nearly organized in the folder structure - yet there is nothing I can do (that I know of) to get FCP to see and display it.
Totally lost now, and scared to keep firing up FCP for fear or losing even more work...but yet, I have to because this is my job! Any help?

This kind of problem seems to indicate that somehow the changes you made were not correctly registered in the library's database. This is stored inside the library in a file with .flexolibrary extension.
A possible solution is to force FCP X to rebuild it. This method has worked on several occasions, but of course there is no guarantee. You may want to make a copy of the affected library before attempting the following.
Locate the library in the Finder (control-click, Reveal in Finder);
Quit FCP X;
(At this point, you may want to make a duplicate of the library, just in case)
Control-click the library and "Show Package Contents"
Locate the .flexolibrary file and drag it out of the library
Restart FCP X.
If all goes well, FCP X will reconstruct the database from the contents of the library package.

Mail content disappears...

i have a problem with Mail.App on my mac..
Some mails contents disappears !! I can read them on my iPhone, or on my mobile me account, but not on my macbookpro..
I try to repair premission, delete caches files, etc. Check font book, rebuild mail boxes
Nothing change
Have you an idea ??

However I only have the files that I copied from XP (on USB stick) and I copied them onto the PC which is now running Linux Mint. I made an account in Thunderbird (same email address/password). It created a new folder. I browsed until I found the folder where I had copied the contents and pointed to this folder. When I then opened TB it started by saying it was making a summary. It then showed an empty inbox. Moreover, When I then check the folder, the original files now show 0 bytes. So this does not work for me.

Text clipping content disappeared on Google Drive

I am running OS 10.7.5 on 2009 Mac Pro. I created some text clipping files by selecting text from some web pages (in latest version Firefox) and dragging to a folder on my Google Drive. When I open them at a remote location on a different machine which also shares/syncs my Google Drive folder, the contents of the text clippings has disappeared. On the bottom of the text clipping window there appears "clipping contents: unknown" instead of "clipping contents: text" that appears with a normal clipping file. When I create a clipping file on my desktop, upload it manually to Google Drive and then check my Google Drive folder (where it syncs almost immediately) The same thing happens. So Google Drive does not like clipping files. Question is, what about them causes Google Drive to drop their content? Is this, as I would expect, common to all versions of Mac OS or peculiar to Lion? Thanks for any insights.

I understand that you're working on a way to help moving back files to google drive. Actually, I can copy / paste, but it always renames the files, so I end up with both a "copy of" and my original file.
could you save and overwite the original file when it already exists ? (perhaps an option in the settings) ?

Mail: smart mailbox contents disappears/search doesn't work & fix is only temporary

Since installing Mavericks (including the Mail update), the contents of my Smart Mailboxes disappears (the Mailboxes themselves are listed, there's just no content) and my ability to get results from Search within Mail disappears.
I have done a lot of searching here and via Google and read other people with similar problems. I have done the usual magical stuff: resetting permissions (including the version that involves the command "resetpassword"), deleting caches, etc. - but to no avail.
Spotlight clearly knows about all this mail, because I can find it with HoudahSpot, which uses the same database, but somehow Mail is not able to read what Spotlight knows.
Now there is a commonly recommended fix, which is to go to Terminal and type some version of:
mdimport ~/Library/Mail/V2
This works (as does reindexing the entire disk)! But only for about a half-hour to an hour, at which point Mail reverts to its previous state. Running the command again works again, but once again the cure goes away shortly after. Once again, the Smart Mailboxes are empty and search in Mail stops giving reslts.
Can anyone suggest a real, permanent solution to this problem, besides switching to another email program?

Okay, I think I understand better now. So I just ran a test, by creating the following rule:
I specifically chose an address (obviously not the one shown) that I had a message from in my Inbox, and a word that was present in the subject line of several messages in my Inbox. When I ran this rule on my Inbox, it copied exactly the messages I would have expected into the test mailbox. Are you seeing different behavior with the same rule, or is your rule constructed differently?
If the difficulty is with running the rule, note that (as I said earlier) rules only run automatically on unread incoming messages. It won't run automatically on existing messages or on messages on an IMAP mail server that you have read on another device using (in which case they will have been marked as read). If you need to run this in such conditions, you'll have to either run the rule manually or run it via an AppleScript or something similar that is somehow (via something other than Mail) made to execute at certain times/intervals or under certain conditions.
And you're correct, a smart mailbox would be totally inappropriate for what you're trying to do! It would behave exactly as you guessed.
