Content Exchange -  PUSH - Delay

Hi,
EP6SP14. I configured a Syndictor and Subscriber on separate portal and configured the PUSH of content at 2 minutes interval.
1. When I put a document on the source, it take a long time to get pushed to target portal but I need it in 2 min. Am I missing some configuration?
2. During copy, even the initial directory path is also copied e.g. if the content is in /documents/News/Corp News...I want only /Corp News but the system copies /documents/News/Corp News too. Can I avoid this?
Rgds

Hi,
1) the minimum interval possible is 5 minutes (unfortunately the UI doesn't show this )
2) What you can do is the following:
Setup the offer component on the ICE Syndicator
- content path = "/documents/News/Corp News"
- target path = "News"
Configure the subscription on the ICE Subscriber
- target path = "/Corp News"
It will create a folder "/Corp News/News/..."
But you cannot avoid the text "News" (or whatever text you typed in target path). If you don't type anything into target path, it will always default to the same value like the content path.
Kind regards,
Ralf

  • Error using Content Exchange - Package Upload

    We've exported content from one portal system using Content Admin -> KM Content -> ICE -> Syndicator -> Global Offer.  We then try to upload the ZIP file into another portal system using  Content Management -> Content Exchange -> Package Upload.  When we upload the file we get the following error message:
    The connection was reset
    The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
        *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
              moments.
        *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
              connection.
        *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
              that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
    This used to work!

    Hi Redding,
    There must be difference in the system configuration in Dev and QA environment.
    Difference in terms of Memory, Database size, if the environment is clustered, system optimization parameters etc...
    You need to work with your Basis team to understand the difference in these systems.
    The exception is because the upload process is not completed because of the huge file size to understand the details of this exception, you need to probably analyze the default trace.
    Thanks.

    How do I stop Exchange pushing my email to me?
    I have set up Palm Pre to access my Exchange account.  I set the sync option to Manual but am still having email pushed  out to me.  I'd prefer to be able to check email when I want not least for battery issues.

  • Content Exchange Upload

    Dear All,
    I'm facing the same problem described in this thread:
    Re: Package Upload iView Error
    Basically, when I go to <i>Content Exchange -> Package Upload</i>, an exception is thrown and the message is: <i>ControllerServletParameterConfiguration: Parameter 'ConfigFileName' is missing!</i>
    I have found two more message reporting this kind of error:
    Portal Favorites iView  doesnt work
    /message/396686#396686 [original link is broken]
    The problem wasn't solved in either. The general reply is to upgrade EP and KMC SP11 to the latest patch level (currently, patch level 3). Anyway this doesn't do the trick, as my system is:
    J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 89291.313
    Portal 6.0.11.3.0
    KnowledgeManagementCollaboration 6.0.11.3.0 (NW04 SPS 11 Patch 3)
    TREX  6.1.12.00
    Any suggestion and workaround is welcome, since I need this functionality to import the DeveloperContent.zip file in order to complete the PDK installation process.
    Cheers, Davide

    Davide,
    1.Unzip the developer content file and u'll find .epa   file in it.
    2.Go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import
    After this select the Client radio button and Upload the epa file.
    Then..Click on the Import Button.
    Hope this works.

  • Can anyone explain how Exchange Push works?

    I was wondering if anyone could explain how the exchange server push is working. We recently picked up an iPhone to test with our small business and we noticed that it states it is using push information for exchange.
    However all of our other phones (Treos w/ WM 5 & 6) aren't exchange push, they instead have to sync. The members who have Blackberrys have push, but those apparently get the push because of the license server we had to purchase for the Blackberrys.
    Any info would be great to provide to some of our staff.

    If you google about you can find lots of details, but some key points i don't see mentioned is that Exchange Push requires web access. Basically you need web server running a front end to Exchange. The first iteration of ActiveSync for WindowsMobile worked by using the Outlook Web Access client. The phone would connect using HTTP/HTTPS and look for updates - this was triggered by an SMS message and referred to as AUTD (WM5 works this way generally). When Push came out, it required SP2 on Exchange 2003 and WM6 or WM5 with a special patch. Now the phone maintains a heartbeat connection with the Exchange server - it still does this over ports 80 or 443 (think HTTP/HTTPS).
    The web server part can be a separate server from Exchange but it all has to be set up to work together. Also firewalls require some tweaking to allow the heartbeat connections to stay active. If you have Exchange and Outlook Web Access then you can usually get Push to work (there some ways to lock it down and stop in in newer versions of Exchange) and the beauty is you don't need extra software as is the case of Blackberries where your company must buy a license for Blackberry Enterprise server.
    So your BBs sync because your company bought a BES server license. Your WM5 devices syn manually because you are probably not running Exchange2003SP2.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adobe Content Viewer focus delay?

    I am wondering if viewing with the Adobe Content Viewer causes delays in articles/pages coming into focus? I have tried building using all three formats: PNG, JPG & PDF. They all have some delay. PNG has least delay followed by JPG then PDF.

    There is no difference between how Adobe Content Viewer renders content and how custom viewers render content. JPEG decompression on iOS is known to be slow due to the underlying decoding methods provided by iOS. PDF always shows a low-resolution image while the higher-resolution version is processed. The length of time this takes depends on the complexity of your page.

  • Exchange Push Email Not Working

    Hello,
    I am at a complete loss. I cannot get exchange push email to work at all on my iPhone 4 (OS 4.1). This is what I have done so far:
    - deleted and added account back (many iterations)
    - DFU'd phone, added account back
    - tried same exchange account on a brand new phone at the apple store, did not work
    - worked with exchange provider, it works in their lab on their test iPhone
    -worked with Genius bar for 2 hrs, can't get it to work.
    Any more ideas???

    Please describe in detail how you created the account. Is it specifically created as an Exchange account, or as IMAP? Does it verify during the creation process?
    You MAY have a timing problem. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3398

  • No Exchange Push when iPhone 3GS is pin locked

    I have noticed recently that exchange push email is very unrealiable on the 3GS. I would get an email 30 minutes after it was sent or not receive one at all until I unlock the screen with my pin code and go into the mail apps (at which time it automatically checks for email).
    Is anyone else having the same push email problem?
    I have tried deleting the exchange account and add it again but it still doesn't work. I have also done the reset network setting thing.
    Please help.

    a little more research from this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1868
    When roaming between home and office networks with Wi-Fi enabled, "push" may stop working if your company's Exchange ActiveSync server has a different IP address for intranet and Internet clients. Make sure the DNS for your network returns a single, externally-routable address to the Exchange ActiveSync server for both intranet and Internet clients. This is required so the device can use the same IP address for communicating with the server when both types of connections are active. A workaround to avoid this issue is to disable Wi-Fi on the iPhone.

  • Gmail with iPhone (Exchange) push & Apple Mail IMAP

    Hi, I've managed to get a Gmail account going on an iPhone using the Exchange protocol. Push is working fine. I use Apple Mail to access the same Gmail account via IMAP.
    When I reply to a message using the iPhone, the Replied flag (the little 180-degree U-turn arrow symbol) shows up next to the message in iPhone Mail, but this flag doesn't appear in Apple Mail. Likewise, if I reply to the message using Apple Mail, the Replied flag shows up in Apple Mail but not in iPhone Mail.
    Basically, I would like push email, but would like the Replied flags to be shown correctly between the email programs.
    I've tested this using a few other potential settings with the following results:
    * Attempt [1]: iPhone Mail accessing Gmail using the IMAP protocol (no push); Apple Mail using the IMAP protocol (push via IMAP-idle): If a message is replied using the iPhone, the Read & Replied flags are not synced to Apple Mail. However, flags produced using Apple Mail are brought across to iPhone Mail. BUT, if Apple Mail is quit & started up again, the proper Read & Replied flags are shown.
    * Attempt [2]: iPhone Mail accessing Gmail using the pre-made Gmail settings (no push); Apple Mail using the IMAP protocol (push via IMAP-idle): Same results as Attempt [1].
    * Attempt [3]: iPhone Mail accessing Gmail using Exchange (push); Apple Mail using the Exchange protocol: Can't seem to get Apple Mail working at all. Tried all sorts of settings, but no luck.
    * Attempt [4]: iPhone Mail accessing another non-Gmail server using IMAP (no push); Apple Mail using IMAP (push via IMAP-idle): Reading & replying to messages using the iPhone or Apple Mail will always correctly show the Replied flags on the other platform.
    * Attempt [5]: iPhone Mail accessing MobileMe using pre-made MobileMe settings (push); Apple Mail using MobileMe (push): Reading & replying to messages using the iPhone or Apple Mail will always correctly show the Replied flags on the other platform.
    So the only way to get push email happening with correct syncing of the flags between email programs is to use MobileMe. It doesn't seem possible using Gmail, unless someone can tell me the Exchange server settings for Apple Mail so that it can be tested.

    That's the way it works with Exchange, and there's no workaround until Apple fixes it. It's the same for 'regular' Exchange accounts - the replied/forwarded tags applied by the iPhone Mail app aren't seen by Outlook, and vice versa.
    You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Exchange PUSH no longer working.  Did a hard reset, and restore nothing

    Seems this problem is happening everywhere on HOFO and macrumors. Please someone help. I bought this phone for this reason and I am ready to take it back. I need to get my emails as soon as they come in. Apple support was useless too. They know about the problem, but no fix is available. GRR!
    The phone was working fine at first, receiving emails, etc. Then it stopped. It would only pull the emails from exchange when you click on the MAIL button and it goes to the next screen. All the settings are set to Push for exchange. Contacts still sync right away. Email will not. We have over 80 other PDA Windows Mobile phones with no problems. I have tried WIFI, 3G only, neither work. Hard reset, restore, new phone settings, etc. Nothing!

    probably not quite the same issue as yours, but thought I'd mention it. After switching connection types, my iPhone no longer will push or sync mail. I get a server connection error. I've found that vpn'ing in, sync'ing, then turning VPN off will restore push and sync abilities. I'm hoping this gets fixed, by it's my workaround for now.

  • After upgrading to iOS 8.2 on iPhone 6, Exchange Push email does not automatically update over wifi. Ideas?

    After upgrading my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.2 this weekend, my Microsoft Exchange email accounts (I have two) is no longer being pushed automatically when connected to Wifi.  This was working correctly before the update and continues to work correctly when on 4G, but not Wifi.
    Troubleshooting steps taken:
    * Tested on and off wifi - issue is only when on wifi not when on 4G
    * Turned mail sync off and then back on again - did not make a difference
    * Rebooted phone - did not make a difference
    Other ideas?

    I was able to track this down not to the email updates but the notifications.  The 8.2 update turned off email notifications both when unlocked and locked.  I was able to resolve by turning the notifications back on.  Seems odd that an update would change notification settings.

  • Tabbed Panel - prevent page content being pushed down

    What is the setting to prevent an open tab from pushing
    content down that is below it. Rather, just have the tabbed content
    be presented above the content on the page. In other words, have it
    behave like a menu bar with drop down boxes.
    Thanks for any replies.

    You're going to have to tweak the CSS so that the
    TabbedPanelsContent is absolutely positioned. Start by adding rules
    like this *after* the tabbed panels CSS, and tweak it from there to
    suit your needs:
    .TabbedPanelsContentGroup {
    position: relative;
    .TabbedPanelsContent {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    z-index: 1000;

  • Microsoft exchange push without permission

    is there a way to get your microsoft exchange emailed pushed to my iphone4 without permission from my companies it department?
    please help!

    First, know that they can see that your device is using Exchange if you decide to setup ActiveSync on it without permission.
    If they simply use user/pass authentication you can set the phone up to sync. Typically your server will be the same URL used for your webmail; iOS is pretty smart about figuring ou the rest (SSL etc.)
