Content Exchange Upload

Dear All,
I'm facing the same problem described in this thread:
Re: Package Upload iView Error
Basically, when I go to Content Exchange -> Package Upload, an exception is thrown and the message is: ControllerServletParameterConfiguration: Parameter 'ConfigFileName' is missing!
I have found two more message reporting this kind of error:

The problem wasn't solved in either. The general reply is to upgrade EP and KMC SP11 to the latest patch level (currently, patch level 3). Anyway this doesn't do the trick, as my system is:
J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 89291.313
Portal 6.0.11.3.0
KnowledgeManagementCollaboration 6.0.11.3.0 (NW04 SPS 11 Patch 3)
TREX 6.1.12.00
Any suggestion and workaround is welcome, since I need this functionality to import the DeveloperContent.zip file in order to complete the PDK installation process.

Davide,
1.Unzip the developer content file and u'll find .epa file in it.
2.Go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import
After this select the Client radio button and Upload the epa file.
Then..Click on the Import Button.

Error using Content Exchange - Package Upload

We've exported content from one portal system using Content Admin -> KM Content -> ICE -> Syndicator -> Global Offer. We then try to upload the ZIP file into another portal system using Content Management -> Content Exchange -> Package Upload. When we upload the file we get the following error message:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
    *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
          moments.
    *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
          connection.
    *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
          that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
This used to work!

Hi Redding,
There must be difference in the system configuration in Dev and QA environment.
Difference in terms of Memory, Database size, if the environment is clustered, system optimization parameters etc...
You need to work with your Basis team to understand the difference in these systems.
The exception is because the upload process is not completed because of the huge file size to understand the details of this exception, you need to probably analyze the default trace.

Content Exchange menu not found in KM

Hi All
I am trying to import home_area_content_templates_fullupdate.zip file. As per documentation of Importing an Offline Package it is saying there will be a menu Content Exchange under Content Management. I could not find Content Exchange menu. I have already activated Content Exchange Service.
Please Help.

Problems with G6 - PT API and Content Service Upload Installation

Hi all,
What port number is PT API using in G6? Examples in Installation Guide are using 11905for PT API, is that the right port or just a dummy port? Same question for Content Service Upload, is port 11910dummy?
I installed all Plumtree Foundation Components in one box as a Test. Followed every single instruction in the installation guide and the installation went successfully. Installation logs have no errors at all. Run diagnostic.bat test and it went successfully. All Plumtree services started successfully.
But the installation didn't create a "ptapi" virtual directory in IIS, hence the verifying installation (following instruction in installation guide page 4-25) step failed. PTSpy captured an error message (please see my reply coz the collab message can't exceed 16K chars).
Verifying Content Upload Service also failed (Tried to upload a simple document to a KD folder, error occured and upload was unsuccessful). PTSpy captured some error messages (please see my reply coz the collab message can't exceed 16K chars).
Can someone give me a hint ? Has anyone experienced these problems too???

Content Exchange -- Package Upload function not work.

I try to upload a zip file from my computer into the repository by using package upload function in portal. The file size export by ice is 1.09 GB is not work it has error The page cannot be displayed but small file size is work. How can i do?

same problem here while trying to transport a large KM package (28GB à 2GB volumes) from EP 7.0 to EP 7.31 SP6. The package upload iView in my target system EP 7.31 crashs with "This page cannot be displayed". I cant find any appropriate exceptions in NWA.
I guess ICE transport isnt an option at all for transporting KM content from 7.0 to 7.31 (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3249426), but i tryed it also, without any success, same behaviour. As i stringent need all metadata (ACL's for example), WebDAV is probably also not reasonable, as far i know you cant transport KM metadata with this method.
Unfortunately Detlev`s link dont works, so i cant get any clues from there. I also tryed to split one KMC archive in volumes à 100MB, but it dont works, because the following volumes are not uploaded and i cant see any KM packages at all.
So, i know i can create smaller KM packages manually, but regarding the data amount its extremly time-consuming. I cant imagine our colleagues from SAP AG are regarding the case of a KM import of large files as realistic, but dont give us a working option to import them. Does anybody have any idea how to handle this issue? Thank you in advance,

Reading contents of uploaded excel file in web dynpro java

I am aware how to provide facility to upload files in web dynpro java. But my requirement is that on uploading a particular file (for eg. an excel file having 10 columns), I need to read the contents of that file and store it in a table in R/3.Can anyone suggest a way how I can read the contents of the uploaded file?

On pressing Upload button, name of selected file is being shown(Statement 1). I am also getting Statement 2 in the output. However I am not getting Statement 3 onwards.
Where am I going wrong? Can anyone shed some light on this?

How to read the contents of Uploaded File Data?

I want to develop one webdynpro application in which the iview contains the FileUpload option.and after uploading i need to read the contents of the file.

My experience is you need to do it twice: first read it to a StringBuffer and readline. Then write the file to server. See the code below

Searching pdf's content after uploaded into my table

I have managed to get pdf files uploaded into my table using the following code:
INSERT INTO APPROVALS (id,REFERENCE_ID,BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE)
SELECT ID,:p5_reference_id,blob_content,mime_type
FROM HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES WHERE name = :p5_part1;
:p5_part1 is the file browse item on page 5. I now want to be able to search the content of all pdf documents loaded in my table for strings entered by the user. I have read the Oracle Text Application white paper, but this appears to require the name of all documents being entered in the code, rather than being done dynamically.
I am finding it hard to convert the code in the white paper to accomodate my needs. Has any one got any code or ideas of how to approach this task ?

This is not as difficult as you're making it sound. There is no requirement that the name of all documents is in code. You're basically 90% of the way there. All you need to do is create an Oracle Text index on this table.
create index approvals_idx on approvals(blob_content) indextype is ctxsys.context

Once it's properly indexed, you can perform whatever CONTAINS query you desire in a reporting region, PL/SQL block, whatever. Note that you'll need to keep your index in sync as you add content to it, but that's in the Text Reference guide - you just need to get the basics working now.

Content Management - Upload file - Multiple Servers

Hi,
We have 2 hardware servers.
On 2 hardware servers we have installes apache-tomcat on each hardware server.
We have jsp files hosted in each server.
When we change any thing we change the war file in both the tomcat.
These 2 servers are behind load balancer and we have sticky sessions enabled.
So when a outside user hits a request then it may reach any one hardware server.
But once it is on any server then next requests from that client will hit on that server only.
Now i want provide a upload screen in my website.
Lets say a image is changed in my website. Now the user will upload a image from the given screen.
In tomcat i will save the image in given folder.
But now my problem is how do i update the image in the second server.
I would like to know various approach to replicate the image in both servers. I would not like to go for any Web CMS as it would be time consuming
and requires strategic decision making.

Content Areas / Upload ing Docs / TEMP space

When uploading documents to content areas, the TEMP tablespace gets filled up and eventually runs out of free extents. (at the end user level, can't upload docs anymore)..
Has anyone on this board come across this or have any solutions/ideas ?

You need quite a big TEMP tablespace. Increase the size. Ours is about 1GB and we have not seen this problem.

Adobe Content Viewer: How can I view content on iPad or iPhone application? It's empty now and there's no option to add or search a file. Do I have to have uploaded it to Creative Cloud first? If so, where to exactly?

We have a requirement wherein on each content upload into UCM, it should be scanned for virus check. Is such a thing possible in UCM. Also are there any functionality to block certain type of file such as exe from being uploaded in to UCM.

You can write a Checkin filter where in check the file extension and based on the type exit the checkin operation with some message to the user .
