I need to transfer content from one EP instance to another.
Which of the following can be transported?
Trex Index Definitions?
Service Rights?
Metadata structure definition?
Repository definition?

Davide,
1.Unzip the developer content file and u'll find .epa file in it.
2.Go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import
After this select the Client radio button and Upload the epa file.
Then..Click on the Import Button.
Hope this works.

I am trying to import home_area_content_templates_fullupdate.zip file. As per documentation of Importing an Offline Package it is saying there will be a menu Content Exchange under Content Management. I could not find Content Exchange menu. I have already activated Content Exchange Service.

Error using Content Exchange - Package Upload

We've exported content from one portal system using Content Admin -> KM Content -> ICE -> Syndicator -> Global Offer. We then try to upload the ZIP file into another portal system using Content Management -> Content Exchange -> Package Upload. When we upload the file we get the following error message:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
    *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
          moments.
    *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
          connection.
    *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
          that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
This used to work!

Hi Redding,
There must be difference in the system configuration in Dev and QA environment.
Difference in terms of Memory, Database size, if the environment is clustered, system optimization parameters etc...
You need to work with your Basis team to understand the difference in these systems.
The exception is because the upload process is not completed because of the huge file size to understand the details of this exception, you need to probably analyze the default trace.

Content Exchange Upload

Dear All,
I'm facing the same problem described in this thread:

Basically, when I go to Content Exchange -> Package Upload, an exception is thrown and the message is: ControllerServletParameterConfiguration: Parameter 'ConfigFileName' is missing!
I have found two more message reporting this kind of error:

The problem wasn't solved in either. The general reply is to upgrade EP and KMC SP11 to the latest patch level (currently, patch level 3). Anyway this doesn't do the trick, as my system is:
J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 89291.313
Portal 6.0.11.3.0
KnowledgeManagementCollaboration 6.0.11.3.0 (NW04 SPS 11 Patch 3)
TREX 6.1.12.00
Any suggestion and workaround is welcome, since I need this functionality to import the DeveloperContent.zip file in order to complete the PDK installation process.

Content exchange - Retaining classification information

In our case, whenever KM content is exchanged between DEV, STAGE and PRD we are loosing classification information of documents.
We have custom metadata properties.

ICE content exchange - Incomplete tranfers

Dear all,
I have come across a rather strange system behavior in our Portal Installation. While trying to transfer KM content between
two of our Portal 7.00 SP21 instances, all the folders and files are transferred at first and then some of them are automatically
deleted.
The method we are using to transfer the content is the ICE transfer (subscriber-syndicator). The offer from the syndicator
runs periodically on the subscriber instance (every 5 minutes). On the first run all the contents of the source path are
transfered to the subscriber but after a while certain files and folders disappear from the KM repository and are not
restored from the subsequent offer runs.
After checking the trace files I noticed that there are several entries like these: "HARD_REF: false OBJECT" and "Could not set all
properties on resource ...".
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Hi Lars
The ICE protocol caters for incremental updates of content. To keep the volume of data low, only deltas are transported when an update takes place. The syndicator records information on which subscriber has received which document. It also records the time when the document was received. This information is stored in the syndicators system in the document properties.
If you want to carry out an incremental update, all repositories that are referenced in an offer must support the application property service. If an offer contains a component that references a repository without an active application property service, the system carries out a full update of the entire offer.
When the system puts together an update package, it determines for each subscriber the documents that have been created, changed, or deleted since the last update. When a document is created or changed in the source repository, it is embedded in the ICE package. If a document has been deleted from the source repository, this information is transmitted to the subscriber, and the document is deleted accordingly from the target repository.

Content Exchange -- Package Upload function not work.

I try to upload a zip file from my computer into the repository by using package upload function in portal. The file size export by ice is 1.09 GB is not work it has error The page cannot be displayed but small file size is work. How can i do?

same problem here while trying to transport a large KM package (28GB à 2GB volumes) from EP 7.0 to EP 7.31 SP6. The package upload iView in my target system EP 7.31 crashs with "This page cannot be displayed". I cant find any appropriate exceptions in NWA.
I guess ICE transport isnt an option at all for transporting KM content from 7.0 to 7.31 (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3249426), but i tryed it also, without any success, same behaviour. As i stringent need all metadata (ACL's for example), WebDAV is probably also not reasonable, as far i know you cant transport KM metadata with this method.
Unfortunately Detlev`s link dont works, so i cant get any clues from there. I also tryed to split one KMC archive in volumes à 100MB, but it dont works, because the following volumes are not uploaded and i cant see any KM packages at all.
So, i know i can create smaller KM packages manually, but regarding the data amount its extremly time-consuming. I cant imagine our colleagues from SAP AG are regarding the case of a KM import of large files as realistic, but dont give us a working option to import them. Does anybody have any idea how to handle this issue? Thank you in advance,

Content Exchange - PUSH - Delay

Hi,
EP6SP14. I configured a Syndictor and Subscriber on separate portal and configured the PUSH of content at 2 minutes interval.
1. When I put a document on the source, it take a long time to get pushed to target portal but I need it in 2 min. Am I missing some configuration?
2. During copy, even the initial directory path is also copied e.g. if the content is in /documents/News/Corp News...I want only /Corp News but the system copies /documents/News/Corp News too. Can I avoid this?

1) the minimum interval possible is 5 minutes (unfortunately the UI doesn't show this )
2) What you can do is the following:
Setup the offer component on the ICE Syndicator
- content path = "/documents/News/Corp News"
- target path = "News"
Configure the subscription on the ICE Subscriber
- target path = "/Corp News"
It will create a folder "/Corp News/News/..."
But you cannot avoid the text "News" (or whatever text you typed in target path). If you don't type anything into target path, it will always default to the same value like the content path.

Search-Mailbox not attaching the infected emails in target folder and deleting the contents in exchange 2010 & 2013 coexistence

Dear All,
I have an issue with deleting circulated spam emails in my environment through search-mailbox
We have Exchange 2010 & 2013 CU5 environment
I followed the search and destroy document for exchange 2010

Added the user to Discovery Management group
Created a new role group as below
New-RoleGroup "Mailbox Import-Export Management" -Roles "Mailbox Import Export"
Add-RoleGroupMember "Mailbox Import-Export Management" -Member Administrator
I ran the below commands
Search-Mailbox -Identity "[email protected]" -SearchQuery "Subject:'report'" -TargetMailbox "Administrator" -TargetFolder "Filter" -LogOnly -LogLevel Full
The above command gets completed successfully and sends the log report however im unable to see any attachments
Similarly the deletecontent also gets completed successfully and logs result. But it does not delete the infected emails
Search-Mailbox -Identity "[email protected]" -SearchQuery "Subject:'report'" -TargetMailbox "administrator" -TargetFolder "filter" -deletecontent -LogLevel Full
Any idea why it is not fetching the infected emails in zip file and why it is not deleting but it is able to log in the target folder

Extremely Urgent : Transport of KM Content through ICE Protocol

Hello Friends,
This is really urgent.
I have been transporting XML content in KM folders through ICE protocol.
But of late the problem is that I am able to download the KM foledrs in .zip format in my Desktop but of late when I am trying to upload it in the TEST Server through Content Exchange it gives me a Page cannot be dispalyed error in the Content Exchange Window.
Please help me out. Initially I had problems in downloading contents but now there is problem with uploading.
I need to transport the KM contents to TEST and PRODUCTION servers immediately. If there are any other methods of doing the same do tell me.

CSS Load balancing for Exchange Server

Hi,
I have CSS configured in single arm and I have multiple servers configured for load balancing and it is working fine but when I am configuring Exchange server for load balancing I am facing problem and applications and printer/scanners are not able to send the email through the Virtual IP address configured for exchaneg server.
But if we configured the real server IP in the printer/scanners they are able to send the email. While checking the logs on the exchange server, it is showing that request for the email so coming from the Exchange VIP configured in the CSS.
I can telnet on port 25 on the VIP address (192.168.200.237). But unable to send the email through this VIP.
Below is the configuration

Please let me know how to solve this problem. System team is saying with the physical IP address it is working fine problem with Load balancing. I have even tried with the
Add service command in the group but didnt work for me. If i will remove the group command then I cant telnet on port 25.
I think this is related to single arm modle or some wrong configuration for the NAT.

Printers are on Vlan 80 ( gw is 192.168.80.1) and exange server is on vlan 200 (gw is 192.168.200.1) i have multiple vlan which will communcate with exchange.
I hv other servers on 200 subnet which are working fine in load balancing.
My CSS is single arm setup.

Content migrated with ICE, Name property and Check In

I have pulled in a new portal server several KM folders, originally located in another portal, with Content Exchange (online ICE protocol).
When I edit locally one of these migrated files, save, and check it in, I get a message complaining that the resource has no name.
Three curious things:
1) If I open the Details view for that file, I can see that the resource's name property is indeed correctly set.
2) After choosing Edit locally, the message reports the correct name of the resource!
You are currently editing the document "REAL_NAME_OF_THE_FILE.doc"...
3) From this page, if I choose Show Properties (showing me again the correct resource's name) and subsequently Hide Properties, no problem arises when checking the file in.
Please notice that:
1) This problem involves only the resources migrated with ICE.
2) If I change either the resource ID or its name from the Details view, no problem arises anymore.
We're using the ActiveX control to edit locally. Our portal version is:

ICE_SERVICE portal user doesn't allow an anonymous access to KM content

When we upload files (e.g. image files) into root/documents/MyFolder repository they get a /irj/go/km/docs/MyFolder/* link. After that they can be seen by an anonymous users.
But every day at 9AM ICE_SERVICE portal user modifies all files in /documents/MyFolder folder and transform /irj/go/km/docs/MyFolder/* file link into /irj/servlet/prt/prtroot/ (we can see that in file Details window). After that an anonymous user lose permission to access the files of the repository.
How to prevent such behavior or to workaround this?

It might be happening due to configured ICE Online Exchange so, check following....
Go to Content Management -
> Content Exchange -
> Syndicators----
> Offers there you'll see list of offers just delete them if not needed , this might solve the issue...

ArchiveLink and Contents Security

Hi,
This is in reference to ArchiveLink HTTP interface 4.5
From what I have read so far in ArchiveLink related documentation is that although the communication between SAP and and external content server is secure, the content that is exchanged between SAP and external content server is not secured. Is that correct? What can we do to make sure that the content exchanged is also secure and no body can read it (support for encryption, https etc.?)

Hi,
if you work with the content server or a R3 database you use the HTTP interface. SAP Content Server and R3 Database repository don't support the OLE archiveLink scenario. What you could do is the following:
1. Early archiving: you scan into the file system. You write a report that is archiving the documents via the SCMS API of Kpro. Then you start the workflow.
2. Late archiving: you scan into the file system with a list barcode -> filename. Then you write a report which is calling BAPI_BARCODE_SENDLIST and the images are linked with the BO object.
The reports have to be planned as jobs.
