Content Express and WLPS 3.5

Hi,
We are having a hard time trying to retrieve content not from the WLPS tables
but from Interwoven Content Express new content table, do you have any idea on
wish steps should we follow to achieve this?

1.I could able to deploy the Content Express web application with
portal by modyfying the config.xml file.
2.I could even able to get the page if i access
http://localhost:7501/ContentExpress/Login.
3.The login page appears, but could not get into the content express system.
Pls help me in completing my task.

Application Express and Content DB

Hello friends
I am trying to develop an application prototype with the following need
a. A set of data fields where by somebody can put a document into the content DB along with the set of data. The content DB needs to store different types of documents, - PDF, Excel, Word etc.
b. Be able to include rights,security management and records management
c. Have Menu based access to the data
I would like to use the Application Express for my front end development and Content DB as the back end data store. All of this in the Windows environment and on the Web.
I would much rather not use BPEL as I think it will complicate the development process for me and I do not have inhouse expertise on Java.
I have seen examples on Content DB where BPEL has been used to write to Content DB, but dont see any place which mentions that you could use Application Express with the Content DB.
Can any one who had done any such work help

Size of Final Cut Express and LiveType?

I want to get Final Cut Express soon. on info site it says this for the hard drive requirements:
"500MB disk space required for applications; additional 16GB of additional storage space for Soundtrack and LiveType content (can be installed on separate disks)"
1. I don't need soundtrack, I have better Programs than that, so just Final Cut Express and LiveType, I can install the extra content on my external drive but I need the program and main effects on my Macbook so how much would all this take up on my macbook.
2. I tried copying my school's livetype from the computer but it just did the program with no effects or anything, does me no good. so I'm just gonna buy my own copy. but where it says 500mb for apps is that what its talking about just basically an empty shell no effects or templates or anything, just a useless program.

Best way to set up homesharing via airport express and NAS

Hi,
I've just bought an Airport express and was wondering what the best way to set it up would be so that I can play music stored on my NAS, controlled by my iphone / ipad. I have itunes match as well, and don't want my phone to be streaming the music from wherever. The airport express will be wired via ethernet to the same router as the NAS on which everything is stored. I don't want the problem with network dropouts and hammering the bandwidth and battery on my iphone to deal with.
How can I set it up to be taking the music straight from the NAS rather than streaming it. I'd also rather not have to turn off itunes match everytime, because it takes an age to repopulate the library when I turn it back on.

You cannot use homesharing to play content from anywhere but iTunes on a computer. The content doesn't have to be on that computer but it has to be part of the iTunes library on your computer. In addition the computer has to be on with iTunes running.
It doesn't matter what sonos can do, sonos is a lame duck in comparison to iTunes because iTunes gives you many features sonos can't, all because it doesn't use iTunes and homesharing.

Images Content Management in WLP 10

Hi,
I am looking for some advice on content management of WLP 10 in two specific areas.
1. I want to save all the 'text' like labels on a JSP page, into content management. Is this a good idea? Is it preferable to maintain this is a property file? If having this in content management is a good idea then what are the general guidelines to go about this.
2. I would like to store all the images that appear on my web page in WLP content management on a file system repository. The documentation suggests that this is possible and the uploaded images can also be exposed to a web server like Apache which usually handles static content rather than an app server. What are the steps to make this work? I tried the following and couldn't really make any progress.. Help is appreciated
a. created a file system repo.
b. set the cm_content_webpath to the apache url
c. uploaded images to the repo
d. what JSP tag do i use to generate the HTML <img> tag for me based on the content identifier name or resource name? Is this even possible?

1. I think a file is better for i18N.
You can store the file itself in the Content management system and publish it , though there is always a disconnect between the developers and the Content Management users.
(Runtime cached files are also better than CMS)
2. you should simply read the path using cm:getProperty(This may have changed in 10.0!) tag and use the value in <img src="">

Interference with my Express and Extreme?

I have an Airport Extreme purchased several years ago to connect two iMacs. We have updated each computer, one is a newer iMac and the other is a MacBookPro (06). We have had trouble getting a signal to reach both computers since we first bought the Extreme. I added an Express and it seemed to solve the problem.
The Extreme is located next to the desktop computer. My laptop (which is never further than 40 feet), randomly gets dropped offline. I have to go through choosing airport, my network, etc, each time I'm dropped and each time I boot up. I never had to do this before. The only change I made recently was password protecting my network. I have done software updates since the problem started and also have run firmware and software diagnostic tests which were fine.
I've been to the Genius Bar three times, I've spoken with Apple Tech support for over 3 hours total on this issue. The Extreme tested fine in the Apple Store, I purchased a new Express and the problem is worse. When I get connected it will sometimes work 20 minutes, an hour, or 5 minutes. When this happens I have to sit right next to the Extreme to pick up a signal.
We have single wall construction, no cordless phones and I can't think of any other interference. Sorry this is so long but I'm desperate! Thank you

generated value by the above regular expression: 123-234-6789
output format to display the generated above value: xxx-xxx-$1
now i need to display the generated value (123-234-6789) in the specified output format (xxx-xxx-$1) and the final output will be xxx-xxx-6789
how is it possible?

Hi, Bashar
You can solve this problem by using the Data Masking Technique.
Masking data means replacing certain fields with a Mask character (such as an X). This effectively disguises the data content while preserving the same formatting on front end screens and reports. For example, a column of credit card numbers might look like:
4346 6454 0020 5379
4493 9238 7315 5787
4297 8296 7496 8724
and after the masking operation the information would appear as:
4346 XXXX XXXX 5379
4493 XXXX XXXX 5787
4297 XXXX XXXX 8724
The masking characters effectively remove much of the sensitive content from the record while still preserving the look and feel. Take care to ensure that enough of the data is masked to preserve security.
It would not be hard to regenerate the original credit card number from a masking operation such as: 4297 8296 7496 87XX since the numbers are generated with a specific and well known checksum algorithm.

A key challenge that Adobe is facing with FM and TCS, and that the survey did not really focus on, is platform strategy (other than cloud-based).
FM runs only on MS Windows today. MS has made a possibly fatal mess of Windows (and the x86 PC market) with Window 8. The nearly $1B write-off for Surface slabs, and the sad story on the Surface app catalog, strongly suggests that Windows has zero future on ARM.
For customers who insist on running an app locally, FM/TCS needs another place to run. The obvious candidates are MacOS, where FM used to run, and Linux, where FM briefly ran. Unix, where FM sort of still runs (FM8 is still available for Solaris) is probably out of the picture.
Mac might be the leading choice, as CS runs native there today.
A return to Linux probably would imply that whatever is ported also runs on Android. Adobe has their toes in that water, with Photoshop Express, but I'm not sure that Android is fully featured enough to be used as a desktop content creation platform.
But the real question is: what do the paying customers want?
The survey asked one incomplete question on that.
Whatever the platform, the whole of TCS needs to run on it, plus Photoshop.

The difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500

Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods. One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc. However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

Need help with Airport Express and so on.

Ok so my main problem before getting into what I need help with here is that our MacBooks and now my iPhone 6 plus isn't staying online. Keep getting booted off and then I either have to select the network again or it will eventually go back on. If anyone has a solution or so please feel free to answer that as well. I'm running on Roadrunner with a Netgear 600 wireless router and a motorola modem. Both of which I'll leave the link to below for a better look.
My Main Question: So I'm looking at a new wireless router mainly and possibly a new modem. I know Apple products are trustworthy but how good is the Airport Express and other Airport products. Also what is the Maximum speed and Maximum data speed for the cheapest express station and if anyone knows the speeds of the other devices it would be greatly appreciated.

DSL Router to Netgear 5-port Switch and I used the switch to connect to Airport Extreme, TV, Blue-Ray DVD player and DirecTV Receiver.
The AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) is a router so it will do what you need.
You need to reconfigure your setup. Connect the WAN port of the AEBS to the DSL router. Then connect the Netgear switch to one of the LAN ports on the AEBS. The AEBS will properly share the connection.

Assuming you purchased QT Pro, you can always download it again at no extra charge by logging in to your Apple account.
Regarding FCE, there is no way to download & install the product. You need an original FCE install disk and your FCE serial number.
Final Cut Pro X (aka FCPX) can be purchased & downloaded from the App Store.

I am trying to open a website that is using Microsoft content viewer, and the page does not show. Any ideas on how to view this site using firefox. It works on IE.

I am participating in an online class whose website uses Microsoft Content Viewer to view the class content. The browser opens a new page, but nothing is there. At the top of the tab it says Microsoft Content Viewer, and nothing else. Can anyone tell me how to view my course using Firefox? I would prefer not to use IE, but it works there.

When originally creating the pdf, you would need to choose another pdf conversion setting. In Word if you use the pdf menu, change your settings there: Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. I would use High Quality Print instead. If you use the File > Print method, click the Properties button next to the Adobe PDF printer selection.
For your already created form, you can change the file so your users will not encounter issues. In Acrobat 9, which hopefully is similar in process to 8: Advanced > Preflight > Profile tab > PDF/A compliance > Remove PDF/A information.(You'll have to unsecure your form first).
