Content in front of footer.

I want my footer fixed to the bottom of the window.  Which I have successfully done; however, when I scroll down my content goes in front of my footer instead of behind it.  I have arranged the footer on the master page to be in front.  I have arranged the content on my child page to be in the back, but the problem still persists.  What am I doing wrong?

In order to make it simple, try creating a new Layer for all Master page content and another Layer for all in-page content. Then move the Master Page Layer to the top in the Layers panel.
Thanks,
Vinayak

  • How do you get your content in front of the right people?

"Outbound Content Marketer of the Year, Joe Chernov (VP of content at HubSpot) told me: Marketers always ask me how to make more or better content, and it’s almost always the wrong question. The right question is: “How do I get my content in front of the right people?” - Forrester's Ryan Skinner
Forrester published a very interesting report in October called "Put Distribution at the Heart of Content Marketing" (here's the related Forrester blog post). My VP shared the report with me and asked me to review and research a key content distribution strategy potentially leveraging the key technologies that are listed in the report. These technologies focus on helping identify influencers, publish content on targeted media properties and publish content if it ranks highly. I have to admit, this is somewhat new territory for me - I've yet to really focus on content distribution strategies across the entire buyer/customer lifecycle and although I've used one or two of these technologies personally, others I've only heard of and some I just flat-out had to Google.
In true intrapreneurial spirit, I starting working through the research phase - I'm actually still working through it - and as I do, I can't help but to start mentally creating a blueprint of sorts... Imagining our technology roadmap interwoven with a content distribution strategy to create and drive a valuable buyer/customer experience (to acquire, keep and grow, of course). Ideally, we'd be able to accomplish all of the above points to significantly - and intelligently - extend our reach moving forward. So, back to the the Forrester report... To help more holistically drive content distribution, Forrester recommends creating a "distribution boss" and linking that person to content creation. I like it. To even further boost success of content marketing initiatives, Forrester suggests: (and I'm paraphrasing liberally here):
    1. Your distribution boss needs to be a left-brained analyst with a right-brained way with words
    2. Borrow some $$ from your content creation budget for some content promotion
    3. Encourage a BFF relationship between your PR and media teams and your content marketing teams
Bottom (or should I say "top") line? I'm looking forward to our organization developing a more scientific content distribution strategy in 2014. Can I get an "amen!"? So, what are you and your teams doing to take a more scientific approach to content distribution in 2014? Or what are you currently doing? I look forward to Topliners feedback!
    Cheers!
    Kristin
    P.S. Technologies currently under review:
    - Include your influencers in a distribution strategy: Little Bird, Klout, PeerIndex
    - Look to specific vendors to push content on publisher’s sites: Outbrain, Sharethrough, Taboola
    - Identify social content winners and invest to amplify reach on the networks that work: SimpleReach
    - Keep an eye on emerging technologies for content visibility and distribution: TrendSpottr
    - Others: Parse.ly

    Alessia,
I agree! In our current blog consolidation project, we're implementing Google Authorship for all our bloggers and we're currently evaluating how to best leverage Deltek's Google+ channel w/in our content strategy. Our PR/Social Director is not a fan - I'm working on, I mean with, her to see the possibilities.

  • Audible content with Front Row

Has anyone been able to listen to their Audible content from within Front Row? There is an Audiobook category under Music, but that seems to only contain audio books bought from ITMS. If I try to play audio book from Audible from one of my playlist, I get a message that says "This computer is not authorized to play this...." I'm able to play my Audible selection from within iTunes, so I know the computer has been successfully authorized. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,

Can your remote "learn"? I use a universal remote with my iMac for controlling my HDTV, stereo, EyeTV software and Front Row. I've programmed the Apple remote's commands into my remote with the "learn" feature.

  • Sizing the HTML client's content area above the footer

As I'm fairly new to the intricacies of the HTML client, I've a simple question with hopefully a simple answer.
Having designed the following screen (containing a custom scheduling control above a standard LS table) I've found that the footer (class: mssl-footer, data-role: footer) is overlaid on top of the content area (class: mssl-content, data-role: content): -
As a result, the lower portion of the table is obscured (in the above screen-shot I've adjusted the opacity of the footer to illustrate this overlay).  As a consequence this will make scrolling the table and viewing the entries slightly awkward
and it looks a bit messy.
So the question I have is, what's the 'best-practice' approach to avoid this overlay and have the content area stop short just above the footer?
Any guidance on how to address this would be appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Chris

I don't know the answer but I would love to see a sample project that uses this custom control. I need to implement something very similar but am not a developer just and admin trying to use Lightswitch in a small business.
    Hi Dave,
I've only just noticed your question regarding the scheduling control (as it was posted against a temporary user account I don't monitor) so apologies for the delay in replying.
The control in the screen-shot is the
dhtmlxScheduler which works very well with LightSwitch and offers a great set of features.
Also, for Sergey, we addressed the sizing issue with a change to the msls LightSwitch library as covered in the following post: -

  • ITunes U content in Front Row

Does iTunes U content not show up within Front Row? I thought maybe they would be included under Podcasts, but I don't see them there. There is also not a specific category devoted to only iTunes U.
    Anyone have an ideas?

    fopboy wrote:
    yeh, same problem here (10.5.8)
iTunesU does appear in Front Row but it is very very broken.
Look under Music > Playlists and you'll see an iTunesU category
However audio only iTunesU do not play, I get an unsupported video error message even though they are not video files
video iTunesU will play but it appears that Front Row streams the episodes direct from the internet rather than playing the already downloaded copies
so iTunesU video works after a fashion, but iTunesU audio-only appear not to work
unless someone can point me to some prefs setting or something that will make iTunesU work correctly?
i have too many iTunesU lectures to arse around changing them all to podcasts and also podcasts are organisied differently
update: the only episodes of anything showing under iTunesU in Front Row are those episodes i am subscribed to but haven't yet downloaded... anything i am subscribed to but have downloaded doesn't appear in Front Row - bizarre

  • Front Page Footer

    Hi Everyone
I want my signature part of my "contract" report always shows at the bottom, how do i do that?
for exmple, if the contents are completed within one page the signature will display at the bottom first page.
If the contents are ended at second page the signature part will display at the bottom of second page.
In addition, the signature part is not the end of the report. There are other addition pages of content I will add after that.
    Thank you

    PURPOSE
This document explains how to create a reports which will display
a frame only at the bottom of the last page of the "group".
    SCOPE & APPLICATION
This note is for "Reports Developers".
A minimum knowledge in reports development is required to be able
    to create the reports.
How to create a Reports with a frame displayed only at the bottom of
    the last page.
To display a frame only on the last page of a "repeating frame" the
properties "Print Object On" and "Base Printing On" must be used.
These properties are in the section "Advanced Layout" of the Property Palette.
The frame to be displayed only on the last page should be anchored to the
repeating frame and the properties "Print Object On" and "Base Printing On"
    should be set like this:
Print Object On : Last Page
Base Printing On : Anchoring Object
The frame to be displayed only on the last page should NOT be included
in the frame it is anchored to, else an error :
REP-1216 : xxx has an illegal print condition
    will be raised.
(You can use the "Object Navigator" window to check that the frame is not
    "included" in the repeating frame.
If necessary, you can create an "invisible" frame, larger than the
repeating frame to which it is anchored and create another "visible frame"
    inside the "invisible frame")
How to avoid overlapping between "anchored objects" and others objects
An anchored object can overlap others objects.
To avoid this situation, there are two solutions :
    First solution
Reserve an area in the page to print the "Only on last page" frame.
This area can be reserved by using frames with "Fixed" vertical elasticity.
The disadvantage of this solution is the wasted space on all the "not last"
    pages.
    Second solution
The second solution allows to use all the available space on the "not last"
    pages.
To avoid the overlap between the "anchored frame" and others objects,
an invisible frame will be used as a "placeholder".
This "placeholder frame" will be pushed by the "repeating frame" to be sure
that the "Only on last page" frame does not overlap others "visible" objects.
If necessary, the "Only on last page" frame will overlap the "placeholder frame"
but it is not a problem as the "placeholder frame" is invisible.

  • Using Content Server 5.02 for Header/Footer Now

I'm trying to migrate our 5.01 deployment to 5.02. One of the problems I'm having is the header and footer that I created before don't show. I had assumed that installing Content Server wouldn't impact my old header/footer that I created with the Branding Engine. Does anyone know what I have forgotten or haven't set? Also, I get an error when I try to create a new header or footer. - "Gateway was not able to access requested content. If the error persists, contact your Portal Administrator."
I'm running the java version of 5.02 on Tomcat. Below is the PTSpy when I try to load a page.

You should check the URLs and gateway space URLs in the "Branding Web Service" object. It seems like they are not pointing correctly to your Branding Engine/Content Server. The base URL should of course point to the location at which CS is running, while the gateway space should also include the Community Published Content URL.

  • How do I make the header, content, and footer transparent in Dreamweaver CS6?

I try setting background color to transparent but it just turns white instead. I want to be able to just see my background image and color and have all content "floating" on my web page.
Also on backgrounds, what is the coding for making sure the background is contained within whatever monitor size it is viewed within or will it automatically scale up/down?
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

I'm just using a basic Dreamweaver page that has some CSS already in the head (haven't done much work on it yet, just trying to get those things transparent first):

  • Front Row doesn't see content on iPod

Is there a way to configure Front Row to play back content that is on a connected iPod? I have videos and music on my iPod, and I would love to be able to play this content with front row.

I don't know if I am allowed to say this on here...
There is software available which allows you to copy all of the content from your iPod back onto your computer. The name of the software is eluding me now, but I'm sure I originally found this out on these forums. So do a search and maybe something will show up. It is possible though! (Not through the use of iTunes).
I would also like to be able to browse iPod content through Front Row. I have all my music on my Mac Pro, and none of my laptop. So if I ever want to use Front Row with my laptop its quite pointless really... would be cool to see this happening!!
    Thanks,
    Steve

Your Menu is situated in an absolutely positioned div

        top: 24px;

AP divs are removed from the document flow and remain in exactly the same place regardless of user preferences. For example if text size is changed, your design moves, but your menu stays where it was.
    Try this
    #apDiv1 {
        height: 41px;    left: 300px;
        position: relative;
        top: 24px;
        width: 450px;
        z-index: 1;

  • Header/Footer Appearing on Title Page

    Hello,
In RoboHelp 11, every time I generate Printed Documentation (Word), my master page header/footer appears on the Title Page. It doesn't appear on RoboHelp's default title page, but it appears when I use a topic as a Title Page or when I navigate to a Word doc Title Page in Print Document Section Layout.
In the Print Document General - Content section, Multiple Header/Footer, <Default Title Page>, I select <None> for First Page (Apply to all pages in the section).
In the Print Document Section Layout, I thought RoboHelp automatically rendered anything placed above the TOC as the Title Page, but for some reason, it's seeing my Topic Title Page and/or Word doc Title Page as just another page in the document and adding the header/footer to it.
I think the last version of RoboHelp I used awhile back was 8 or 9, but I don't recall ever having this trouble adding a Title Page to a Printed document.
    Please help me troubleshoot this.
    Thank you!

You may also find looking at the Employee Care 2 sample project useful as that describes how to use the new print layout.

  • Problem with table line (footer)  in smartform

    Hey guys and gals !!!
I have got this problem with the footer line in my smartform.I have checked the <i>no pagebreak</i> option for this line but still some contents are getting truncated instead of being shown totally on one page.
The line has two cells. The first cell has 4 text nodes and the second cell has 1 text node.
I am able to see just the text from the 1st text nodes while the others are getting truncated.
Please suggest a solution.Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Greenidge Gonsalves
    SAP Technical Consultant

    Hello,
The problem is not clearly explained.
However, I assume that you have a footer which is NOT a part of MAIN Window and a table has been defined and only the contents of the First TEXT node is getting printed while others are getting truncated.
    If my understanding is right,
    1. It is getting truncated because the text is more than the size of the window that has been defined.
    2. I suggest you, if the contents (size) of the footer varies from output to output, then better to shift the footer to the MAIN Window so that you will see the complete text.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Sidebar not extending, footer not at foot

Okay. I have a mess of new pages to build for my site (about 80 of them). I have existing templates to start them from. The templates are fine. The old pages are fine. In the new pages, however, the sidebar won't extend to the bottom of the content box, and the footer doesn't go to the foot. They just sit there in the middle of the page, and don't take any account of the new information. it looks fine in Design view, but live view or checking in a browser has a truncated sidebar and a footer spread across the middle of the page. I don't see anything in the code that would cause that, but I'm not an expert at reading code.
This is Dreamweaver CS6 on Snow Leopard. Just as it was when the site was built, I haven't changed anything, and it didn't do this before. What is going on here, and how do I make it stop. NONE of the new pages are working properly. Not a single one.
I last did some expanding of an existing page on May 8, and those changes went in without a problem. Also some image swaping out and replacement on June 2nd. No problems with any of that. Before that I built a new page on April 17, and it didn't do this then, either.
Another issue: if necessary I'll start a new discussion on it as well, but maybe it's something simple enough that someone can give me a fix for it.
One of the pages contains a whole series of images, stacked on top of each other, extending down the page. I can't seem to be able to get the images to join up against one another. The program puts a gap of about 5 pixels between each one. It doesn't matter whether I just insert the images into the section and let them float, or if I put them in a table with no cel padding or border or anything else. They won't join up. How do I get rid of the extra spacing?
Thanks for any help on this.
    J.

It isn't posted yet. None of the new pages are getting posted until I've stomped the bugs. The existing pages are on my site.
The area which seems to have gone screwy is the Graphics collection.
    http://www.redhen-publications.com/graphics.html
But the pages that are online are all okay.
I have adapted a new page from the most similar template from a different part of the site, and saved it as a new template. It doesn't have the non-stretchable sidebar problem, but there are some other weirdnesses going on. And the pages saved from any of my templates, both the new ones and the old ones, no longer get saved as .html. The child pages keep trying to save as .dwt, which is just wrong. And I know damned well that this didn't happen previously. What is more, the child pages, when I have manually changed them to .html in the Save As dialogue can no longer be directly saved. They keep trying to go back to being templates. I have to Save As every time, to keep them .html. There no longer appears to be any way to create a page that *isn't* a template.
Regarding the new template: The sidebar stretches, but there are gaps between some of the line items that ought not to be there. But only some (in fact, only one. It has about a 5 pixel gap above and below its sidebar button while the rest all butt up nicely together, the way they are supposed to). the button is an image rollover, with no way of getting at anything like the properties panels which would let me try to fudge with negative margins. There appears to be no difference in the code between this new page and the old pages which have the sidebar in the format it ought to have.
Old page with correct sidebar buttons:
    <div class="sidebar1"><img src="../Images/basics/counter.png" width="154" height="39" alt="counter"><a href="../publications.html" onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('publications','','../Images/basics/butt_pub-2.png',1)"><img src="../Images/basics/butt_pub-1.png" alt="Go to Publications Collection" width="154" height="52" id="publications"></a><a href="../graphics.html" onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('graphics','','../Images/basics/butt_graf-2.png',1)"><img src="../Images/basics/butt_graf-3.png" alt="Go to Graphics Collection" width="154" height="52" id="graphics"></a>
    New page Sidebar button code:
    <div class="sidebar1"><img src="../Images/basics/counter.png" width="154" height="39" alt="counter"><a href="../publications.html" onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('publications','','../Images/basics/butt_pub-2.png',1)"><img src="../Images/basics/butt_pub-1.png" alt="Go to Publications Collection" width="154" height="52" id="publications"></a><a href="../graphics.html" onMouseOut="MM_swapImgRestore()" onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('graphics','','../Images/basics/butt_graf-2.png',1)"><img src="../Images/basics/butt_graf-3.png" alt="Go to Graphics Collection" width="154" height="52" id="graphics"></a>
The only difference I see is that on the faulty page there is a spot where the code drops to another line rather than running straight. And can't be fixed by just deleting a return. Any attempt to delete the gap deletes characters in the code ahead of it.
I could live with it if it was absolutely necessary. But I dislike it a lot, and can't see why something that was built nearly a year ago, and has not been altered since, should suddenly be impossible to reproduce.

  • How do I get my content all the way up to the top of the page?

My content div seems to be about 10 pixels down from the top of the page displayed. I want it to go all the way to the top. I am new to web page design and cannot figure out why/where in the code this is controlled.  Have found a web site that I would like to mimic, but can't without fixing this problem. Help!

Not sure I understand what you want. I just started with a template that was in Dreamweaver & have barely started entering any content.
I will send the code for the entire page, I guess.

  • Add Page n of nn, date, current user name to aReport Footer on PDF Report

    Hello,
I am very new to using Apex.
I have a SQL Report which I can output to a PDF and works.
I have a header and the contents of the report all appearing in the PDF OK.
I would like to have a footer for each page which has the date & timestamp, current users full name and page n of nn.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

    Hello Luis
    Thanks for your help.
I have the first part of the current user and the date and time displayed on the bottom of the report.
The complicated bit for me it the page n of n.
I have created the report layout and copied in your code but I get an error that tells me that
the PDF cannot be opened because it is either not supported or damaged .....
Here is the contents of the Page Template:
