Content is appearing in external window instead of presenting in Iview

Dear Experts
We are using Team Viewer Iview of MSS, the content is coming from R/3 system. but the content is appearing in External Window instead of appearing in the IVIew itself. This Iview has the tray which is blank and content in external window.
This applicaion works good for all the other languages except for French users.
Could you please tell us what could be the reason content is appearing in external window instead of presenting in Iview.

Are you saying that when you log in the portal you see a tab and clicking of the tab produces additional navigation. When you click the additional navigation you see the iview.
When you click the iview instead of being displayed in the portal content area it opens a new window? -
> Yes
Are there any other iview within this navigation that display in the portal content area? ---> Yes
I have checked the properties open in new window or launch in new Portal content area all these are set perfectly but the content alone is appearing in external window only for French Users. we want the content to be appear in IVIEW of same portal screen.

New Content not Appearing in Tabs/Windows

At least half of the time when I click on a link that opens in the same tab, or enter a query (eg, a search term on the Wikipedia main page), the content in the window does not change. Once or twice it was a little slow, and it appeared that the window did change for a second, but then went back to the same content (eg, Wikipedia main page with an empty query field, or the page that displayed the tab that I clicked on). I can often get to the content I'm seeking in a new tab by using CTRL>Click, nut often that doesn't work (probably because of the coding on the original web page?)
This is happening at least half of the time. I've done all the usual fix attempts, including updating Firefox, clearing cache and history, disabling add-ons, but the problem still happens.
I am running Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows Vista 64b Home Premium (it happened on earlier versions of Firefox too), on an HP laptop that's about 2 years old.
I can't find any information on the web or Firefox knowledge base about this, as though it hasn't happened to other people, but I'm sure it has. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

Content not appearing on restricted windows account

Hi all,
I have a flash file in which certain items are set to Export
for AS.
"Export in first frame" is unchecked and those items are
placed on the
stage some frames after frame 1 to allow for a small loader
bar.
All's fine on a whole lot of machines (Mac, PC and all sorts
of
browsers) except for a group of PC's which run on a
restricted
useraccount and run only Internet Explorer. On those machines
the items
set to "Export for ActionScript" but not in frame one are not
shown.
Does anyone have any ideas?
QAD workaround I suppose could be to have it all load in
frame 1 and if
needed built a separate preloader but I would prefer to keep
it all in
one file...

Hiding URL in the title bar of external window

Scenario:
On click of 'LinkToAction' element, we are opening up a pdf document (stored on portal content server)
in an external window, using:
CALL METHOD LO_WINDOW_MANAGER->CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW
    EXPORTING
      URL            = LV_HOSTNAME
      TITLE          = 'My Title'                             "Does not work
      MODAL          = ABAP_FALSE
      HAS_MENUBAR    = ABAP_FALSE
      IS_RESIZABLE   = ABAP_TRUE
      HAS_SCROLLBARS = ABAP_TRUE
      HAS_STATUSBAR = ABAP_FALSE
      HAS_TOOLBAR    = ABAP_FALSE
      HAS_LOCATION   = ABAP_FALSE
    RECEIVING
      WINDOW         = LO_WINDOW.
We have a requirement to hide the location bar and the title of the window (in which the PDF is displayed). We are able to hide the location bar but the URL still appears in the title bar.
We have tried the following code to set the title, but it is not working.
CALL METHOD LO_WINDOW->SET_WINDOW_TITLE
EXPORTING
    TITLE = 'My Title.                    "Does not work
LO_WINDOW->OPEN( ).
Any help on how to achieve this will be appreciated.

This is not a web dynpro restriction - but one that has been brough about by the browser designers.
Because of the number of people falling to phishing attacks the designers of browser have all decided to always show the URL of any popup HTML windows. This stops malicious pop-ups from pretending to be something they are not and stealing user's data.
If the world were a nicer place you could have your pop-up without the URL - but it isn't and it's probably better that your users have a least a little help in identifying if they are being scammed.

Can I display 2nd view on external window ?

Hi all
I would like to implement the function that Output views come out on external window.
For example, OnAction method searches data from DataBase and the result appears on external window not original window.
Comparing this function to HTML, I imagine anchor with "target = BLANK".
I try to use 2 methods ,create_window and create_external_window, in if_wd_window_manager.
But I couldn't get my want.
Howcan I do ?
Please help.

there are two scenrios here.
1. creating a MODAL POPup window using create_window and this will create a window having the the second view with the desired data.
here in this case you have to create a comman context node in the comp contrl and use it both views. then
create second window and embed the second view in it.
now fill the data in the first view in the context node and then use the method create_window to create the modal popup
window and show your data here in the second view may be table or form (whatever you want).
2. second scenario is to create sn external non modal window itself which will open in a seprate browser window.
there how ever you cannot pass the context node itself. masimum you can do is pass url string paramters.
which you can fetch in the second application and disply the result accordingly.

component controller(cc).Call the method of the component controller from the method(onactionclick) in the external window and pass the parameter.

Create a event handler method in main view and set the event source and subscribed event(cc method name) in
method tab.
Fire this method from cc
wdThis.wdFireEventnameinmainview(parameter);
And finally handle the parameter in a definedmethod of the view(that called external window )
u can also use contextmapping between component controller and bothview ( external window view and main view)

If i open a new window instead of a new tab, in the new window does not appear the menu tab

i want to open new windows instead of tabs and in the new window should appear the menu tab and scrolling up and down, but now with the new version the menu tab does not appear and i cannot scroll up and down.

Do you mean opening a window via the File menu (File > New Window) or do you always want to open links that you click on web pages in a new window?

Open PDF in external window within browser?

My company's line of business app (we're an insurance agency) depends on the browser plugin to display PDF's that are attached to customer accounts. Unfortunately, the app displays the PDF in a small window that cannot be resized and requests to the software vendor to find another way to handle PDF's have been virtually ignored. To get around this, we've been disabling "Display PDF in browser" to force PDF's to open in the full Reader program. As luck would have it, at least one agency we do business with requires the browser plugin, otherwise it assumes we have no PDF program and asks the user to download Adobe Reader. So we have people constantly going back & forth, disabling and enabling the browser plugin. I looked at the SDK and there's a sample plugin to open a PDF in an external window. I loaded it up in Visual Studio and built the project, but it appears to not be working (maybe it's strictly for Acrobat). It would be awesome if there could be a button on the toolbar to open the PDF externally when you open it in a browser. Any ideas we can try? This image gives you an idea of what my end users are looking at.

Erec - When an External window opens after click of a button

We are using an Standard Webdynpro Erec Appln.
When an External window opens after click of a button the smart form embedded in that windows view is not appearing instead and small X mark (in Red) is appearing with fully plain background
It is happening only for my system, others are able to view it properly...
I have cleared the cache, restarted the system and also re-installed the Adobe Reader too..
But still the problem persists.. Let me know what can be done in this case...

The service that you are trying to use requires integration of adobe with in browser(IE). Check the option [Display PDF in browser |http://lh4.ggpht.com/_E1SpYl0ZbfE/SlI0rfQAxeI/AAAAAAAAAh4/fC9alkf1M78/Adobe_Setting.gif]in Adobe Reader preferences.
If it still doesn't show the PDF, try to reset the browser setting to Medium and re-open.

.ics files open in new window instead of downloading

Hello -
When I click to download a linked .ics (calendar) file, instead of downloading the linked .ics file, it opens the contents of the file in a new browser window (and all of the info is garbled with extra characters).
When I right click to save the linked file, it lets me download it.
Any idea why this might be happening?

The Work Protect modes do not seem to affect the 'Open in a headerless portal window' iViews which are opening with the banner and TLN.
For ESS Appraisal document, I was able to fix the problem of the external window having the Banner and TLN by using transaction lpd_cust.
The problem still exists for our Business Packages MSS, SRM, Course Administration, and Instructor/Tutor.
Does anyone know how to correct the 'headerless portal window' so that it does not include the Theme banner and TLN.

Copy its content to show on onother window

Hello!
The Problem I'm having is:
A list of all orders is shown on a view which is defined
for. Click on a special button opens a new Window
(external window) and this window should show the same list like the privious view once more.
With other words it must contain the same content. To do this is
it necessary to perform the whole program again or can I copy
its content for showing on the external window. I'm very confused.
This external window acts as kind of preview of the list.
Or do you have other suggestions?

It is better to have 0..n if there is any table or else better to have 0..1;
Say View1--is your first view
View2 --is your print view in external window
your first doubt:Now Copy this node to View2 and map them both.
How can I map two views to eachother?
List-- newly created context node 0..n;
Procedure:
Select and right click the node List in View1 -> Select Copy
Open context tab of Controller-> Paste the node (If it is not there already)
Open data modeler .Map View2 to Controller. Wizard appears. Copy and map the node(just drag and drop from right to left)
Open context tab of View1

Copy all the values into this node from respective nodes or attributes.
When I copy all this values from respective nodes or attributes why
copying this node to View2 again ??
I mean to say: "What ever values you want to display in print view you need to copy to node List. These values are stored in this List you can display them in print"

Problem with Absolute Navigation (External Window) and Light Framework Page

Hi All,
We are using Light Framework page for the portal devolopment. We have an application including two webdynpro iviews where absolute navigation is used to traverse from first iview to second iview (When user clicks a button on first iview). We are showing the second iview in external window (SHOW_EXTERNAL). When ever i clicks the button to traverse to second iview, i am getting an exception.
When we are showing it in same window (SHOW_INPLACE), it is working fine. But the iview is appeared in half of the page with scrollbars. It is working fine with default framework page (with both options SHOW_INPLACE and SHOW_EXTERNAL) and dispalyed in original size as mentioned in iview properties.
Could you please suggest us whether there is any work around for this.

I couldn't see the address bar of the window (In which second iview is getting displayed). But i can observe no parameters that i passed from first iview is visible in the view source of the second iview (When SHOW_EXTERNAL is used in absolute navigation). I could see all the parameters in the view source (when SHOW_INPLACE is used for absolute navigation). But i am using the same url for both the options (for SHOW_INPLACE and SHOW_EXTERNAL).
I doubt about the url being passed when SHOW_EXTERNAL option is used. But when we checked in debug, The correct url is being triggered (Atleast from first iview). Is there any way that could display the second window with address bar. What is making difference between SHOW_INPLACE and SHOW_EXTERNAL with absolute navigation and light framework page.
Could someone please suggest.

Help. My WD Time Machine Drive won't appear anymore on the desktop. It won't appear on my windows OS machine as well. Can anyone help me?

I made the darnest mistake when I tried cleaning up my time machine drive by deleting some of the "back-up" restore points.
Since then, the external drive does not appear anymore on my mac's desktop. Nor does it appear on my windows OS laptop.
I tried using DISK UTILITY on my Mac and the drive appears there. I was able to run Repair Disk, though No Errors appear. I "cannot eject" using the EJECT button at the top of the application as it prompts me with a message
"EJECT FAILED --
The disk “WD Ext HDD 1021 Media” could not be unmounted.
Make sure that all applications and files are closed on this disk."
Same goes when I try using a WINDOWS OS machine. It does not appear on Windows Explorer. Though when it does appear in the "eject list".
I assume that deleting some of the restore points (at random) was the cause of this.
How can I repair it? I have some sentimental and personal files (i.e. family pictures) that are also stored on the drive.

Other than the Disk Repair from the Disk Utility, I would suggest resetting the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243.
Tha's kind of a last ditch effort though. Can you put it in another mac computer with the mac os? Does it show up there?

How to Close external window?

Hi Experts,
1) For one of the development requirements, I am required to open my application in
external window. For the same, I have changed the property of the iView and page to
launch the iView in an external window and not to display in content area. Now, I am
able to display the application in a new window as per the requirement.
Now, I want to close this window from a button event on the screen, but can't find a way to close it.
If anyone's having an idea over it, that will be greatly appreciated???
2) Also, in another application, I am downloading data into excel sheet and the download
opens in a new window. Once the user clicks on the option (SAVE, OPEN, CLOSE),
the blank window should close which works well in IE 7 but in IE 6 the user says the blank
window is visible and they have to close it manually.

If the external window contains the view of the wd component then only you can close the window.
Try like this:
Create a context attribute of IWDWindow in the calling view - component - called view and map them in all controllers.
//set the context attribute in calling view
win.show();

In onActionxxx event of the downlload button
// close the window

Display a document pdf in an external window (WD ABAP)

I have an application Web dynpro Abap and it adds articles in a alv component that it is a purchase basket.
This alv has a user function what opens a document pdf (interactiveForm)
that shows the lines of the order. I would like that this pdf be displayed in an external window, and it was independent of the window of alv of the purchase basket.
This is possible. If it is possible, how can I do it?
