Content is deleted

I'm having an issue that I can't for the life of me figure out. I have a form that I downloaded from a state website. I've filled it out and saved it. When I open it I see my content for a quick second and then it disappears. If I print it from that point it prints blank. However, if I send it to the printer without opening it, it prints with the content. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks.

Very likely the state felt for public sites and such, it was best to clear the form before the user entered information. There is probably an open option in the form that clears it on opening.

  • SCCM 2012 source content gets deleted

I have been using SCCM 2012 for over a year now and have jsut noticed that all of the content in my original source folders has been deleted. I am trying to redistribute this missing content with no luck, mainly because it doesnt exist anymore.
    I have two questions.
    1. How do I change the cleanup of the source content folder
    2. How do I re-download software updates to redistribute once the source content gets deleted.
Has anyone else had this problem?

    Perhaps it was this:

  • Content Aware Delete?

I am aware that on a 16 bit image, live selections (think marching ants) once adjusted are immediately rendered 8 bit (and now quite prone to posterization issues).  Live selections, unless turned into a mask are very destructive, when adjusted.
Having said that, it is my suspicion that by using quick mask to make various selections, to delete (using CONTENT AWARE DELETE) will also render the live selection areas 8 bit.
    Is that true?

As a fine art landscape photographer making fine art anlargements I was running into posterization problems even with 16 bit images and did not know why. I came here years ago and asked, and Jeff you cleared it up. I was doing a lot of masking but was doing a lot of adjustments on live selections. As an example I would maybe use color range to make a selection then refine edge to feather it further and then I was adjusting that selection. What I learned was, I was damaging my image in those areas (rendering the areas down to 8 bit).  I changed my workflow immediately to turning all those types of live selections into a masks (via create a mask on the Layers Pallet). This has resolved the issues.  I am a mask hound.  Then as I have been critiquing my workflow, lately, I realized I was (sometimes) still doing a lot of live selection work in the area of content aware delete (I use quick mask to make the selections).  Sometimes in skies, to remove dust specks and just various distracting elements.  I do this early in workflow as I import into PS. Then I got to thinking, maybe I am running the risk of more posterization issues in those areas because they are live selections. Given the fact that my images may still go through a whole bunch more adjustments in PS including a color space jump to LAB and back, I am just wondering if I indeed am potentially creating damage in these areas that could show up in a print.

  • DFSR Error : Error: 9098 (A tombstoned content set deletion has been scheduled)

    Hello,
We are getting this error on one of our DFSR shares and am not sure how to get this fixed. We have over 30 different shares replicating and all of them are fine except for one. I have tried to remove the Replication and the namespace and have recreated them
    both and continue to get the same error. This is what is in the event logs on the server;
The DFS Replication service stopped replication on the replicated folder at local path E:\SHARE\Sharelocation.
    Additional Information:
Error: 9098 (A tombstoned content set deletion has been scheduled)
    Additional context of the error:
    Replicated Folder Name: Sharelocation
    Replicated Folder ID: 9BDA3E5A-8103-481F-84B2-269AE8A3BBC8
    Replication Group Name: SHARE
    Replication Group ID: C25E73B7-5B65-4299-A1BE-76E723443B02
    Member ID: 568CC517-3329-42A4-ABAD-633CB3D1EF2E
If anyone has any suggestion on how to get this working again it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a short summary of what I did:
Look in Event Viewer and identify all the replication groups/folders that are giving the tombstone error. Once you have them identified, go into DFS Management GUI and completely delete the replication group
associated with that folder. You do not need to delete the DFS Namespace for that folder, just the replication functionality of that namespace folder. If you have other replication groups in your DFS-R that do not get the 9098 errors, then you do not have
to do this for these folders.
Stop DFSR services (you may need to kill the service using the taskkill command if it hangs when it tries to stop).
Give yourself permissions to the hidden System Volume Information folder. If you're account is under the domain admins group, you can simply add the security group.
This folder exists on all servers that is a member of the replication group. In my situation, 2 of the 3 servers didn't show this folder as existing even when I enabled to see hidden folders. If this happens to you,
the server is lying to you that it's not there. It is there. Don't listen to it. My suggestion is to download and use the 7-zip file manager. It will see the folder and will help you set the permissions to
it as well as delete files that are longer than 256 characters, which is an issue if you do the next step from the command line).
Note, after you set the permissions, it might tell you that you still don't have access to that folder. Just close out of 7-zip and open it back up. It should let you in that folder as well as its subfolders.
Once you have access to that folder, go ahead and delete the DFSR folder that resides underneath it. You will want to do this on all servers that has the DFSR role installed and is a member to any replication
groups. You can use the command line command "rmdir", but it fails to delete files/folders that are longer than 256 characters. This is why the 7-zip file manager is a better option to delete the DFSR folder under System Volume Information. However,
there are instances where 7-zip is unable to delete a file or folder. If you run in that scenario, use the rmdir command in an elevated command prompt. Essentially, a combination of these two will eventually clear out everything you need to clear out.
Turn DFSR services back on. This will begin the process of recreating the DFSR hash and virtual tree that you had just deleted.
Recreate the replication group that you want.
On the replication groups that you did not delete, you may get the warning: "The DFS Replication service initialized the replicated folder at local path <path> and is waiting to perform initial
replication. The replicated folder will remain in this state until it has received replicated data, directly or indirectly, from the designated primary member."
If you do, what you need to do is run the command line to set one of the DFSR servers as the primary server for that replication group, and then once set - this
is important - you will have to go in the DFS Management GUI, click on the replication group with the associated warning, select the connections tab, and then right click the the sending member that
you just made as primary and choose "Replicate now..." This will initialize the replication and you will have to do this just that once for it to replicate here on out. You will need to do choose the "Replicate now..." option for each receiving
member that the sending member/primary member server is attached to in that replication group.
Wait about 5-10 minutes and run the dfsrdiag backlog command on each replicationgroup and see if a backlog for replication/sync gets created. Run this command each 5 to 10 minutes to see if the backlog file count value decreases. If it does, it's syncing/replicating.
Don't forget that when testing replication, you cannot create test files via the local path and see if it replicates. You must create it in the DFS Namespace (\domain\folder\share) to see if replication works. Otherwise
you get false negatives and you think replication is still broken. Just an FYI.

  • Deletion of data target contents Vs delete overlapping requests

    hi,
when do we  go for <b>delete overlapping requests</b>? if it is applicable for full load as well as delta load then i would like to first come up with the full load concept, we have the other option called <b>delete data target contents</b> with this we can delete daily full load without going for delete overlapping requests.
Pls let me know exact difference between DELETE OVERLAPPING REQUESTS FROM INFOCUBE with DELETE DATA TARGET CONTENTS.

    hi
When you have delta upload twice daily..the date in the previous request and the second request is same....so you might be giving this option to delete the overlap such that data is not loaded twice
    Assign points dont forget

  • Table of contents creation deletes text of entire document

Every time I try to create a TOC for the document I'm working on, InDesign either tells me the TOC has been updated — in which case the entire text of the document has just disappeared — or else it loads the cursor and gives me nothing but the title "Contents". Am I doing something obviously wrong?
(I've already done the IDML round-trip and the delete preferences.)
    Thanks! — Jeremy

    Thanks, Uwe.
When I initially created the TOC, I put it into a separate story, and the TOC was empty — but the main text (which is in another single story) remained. Then when I updated the TOC, the main story was replaced with the word "Conents" (same as the TOC).
So I have no clue what's going on either! It must be some sort of file corruption not repaired by the IDML round-trip. Your own bafflement suggested that file corruption was the problem rather than some silly mistake I was making.
However, great news: I made a new document, pasted the main story into it, and now everything seems to be working in this new document.
Many thanks again for your help, especially since I foolishly posted my question in the wrong forum.

  • Content Server - Delete Item Presentation Template code?

    I know the code to create a content item:<pcs:value expr='pcs_location'></pcs:value>/published_tools/content_item.jsp?fid=" + detFolderId + "&det=(data entry template name)

I was wondering, did you find out if this is possible. We are trying to do this. as well. We have been able to setup the Editing from the Portlet level, but haven't found a way to handle deletes.

  • Can content in deleted apps be retrieved?

I was going to transfer some images to my iPad through iTunes. So I selected the photos I wanted and clicked "Apply" (at least I think that's the english translation). I went away from my computer so I don't know what happened, but after I got back the photos were on my iPad, but several apps had been deleted.
The apps are in iTunes under "Applications". I think it must have copied them into iTunes before deleting from the iPad because there are apps in iTunes that I didn't have last time I synced the iPad. I was wondering if the content (like high scores, game saves, documents, images) within the apps are stored there as well? Is there a way to get these back? I've been reading different posts, but I'm a bit confused. English is not my first language, and many people use difficult words or write long answers that just leave me more confused. I tried to find an iTunes usermanual, but just found usermanuals for iPad and iPod.
I've read that if you click "Restore" this will restore your iPad to a point in the past of your choosing. Other people claim it will make it factory fresh. And some people say you get a choice between the two. Some also say that if you click "Revert", it's like an "Undo" button. I don't really understand the difference between "Restore" and "Revert". And what the difference between "Apply" and "Sync" are. Also will "Revert" still work after I've unplugged the device and plugged it back in? Or do you have to click it right away in order to undo?
Some say that the reason apps get deleted is because you sync the device without checking the apps boxes. I don't know if my apps boxes were unchecked, but it seems strange that it would delete apps because of this, and also that there was no warning that popped up.
I've also seen in a post that content from iPad applications can be found in a folder on the computer, but I haven't found any such folder. I found a folder with the actual apps in it though. Are these apps complete with content?
I know if I want the apps back I can just download them again from the app store, but I'm interested in a way that will bring the apps back the way they were, not just redownload.
I read that if you sync again all will be lost, so I want to get it right and not make things worse.
This became a really long post, sorry. Hope people can understand my ramblings and that someone has a good answer.

If you installed a Security Update early this month, about the 2nd or so, and not one since then, run Software Update - if it offers another Security Update, accept and install that one. The original Feb 2012 update had some flaws with regard to MS software in particular; the follow-up update fixed those.

  • HT1766 After I backed up my new iPhone with content from my old iPhone, all of my new content was deleted. How do I retrieve it?

After backing up my new iPhone with content from my old iPhone, all of my new content (photos, voice memos, etc) was deleted. How do I retreive this?

If you just bought the iPhone today, the first time you connect a new iPhone or iOS device to iTunes the first time that is used to sync with another iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iOS device to the new iOS device, or set up the new device as a new device.
Sounds like you did the former and if so, this did not include backing up the new iPhone first. All data on the iPhone was replaced with the backup for the iPod Touch. The data that was on the iPhone at that time is gone.

  • Content aware delete key

Started using PS CS5 few days ago, still playing around with the new features, but there is one that I can't figure it out why it was changed, the way the delete (or clear command for that matter) works. Now we have to use "command+delete" keys to just clear a section, or go another step when using just the delete key, to chose which one would you like, foreground or background color, pattern, etc. kind of a weird I would say. The content aware should be "command+delete", and keep the delete key along, I've used for more than 10 years and it worked fine.
Anyway to bring the delete key behavior back to what it was?

I agree, this is very annoying. I think the content aware team is wrong; most people are far more likely to want to fill the background layer with a particular color than work destructively on the background layer with content-aware fill. As for people not knowing about the new content-aware technology without this change in UI behavior, that is plain crap. Give me a break. Who is going to spend hundreds of dollars on the upgrade and not know about the flagship new features?

  • Stored Procedure Contents Getting Deleted Randomly

Has anyone had any experience with the contents of a stored procedure getting deleted?  The object is still visible in object explorer, but when you go to modify the contents it is empty.
I just started at a new place and trying to clean up and improve their environment.  It was brought to my attention that a certain report that was being ran should have returned some results, but instead
was just returning a blank report.  While researching the problem, I backtracked to the stored procedure on the server and discovered that the definition of that object was completely blank.  Had to go back to a restore to get the definition.
This is at least the second time this quarter, but a different procedure.  What could be causing this?

  • Mail content automatically deletes

For the past month the content of the emails in my inbox disappears after about two weeks. The email title and recipient still looks unchanged. When I try to delete the email the title just turns lighter in color. Can anyone help?

Hello and welcome to the Discussions.
There is no option in Mail to account for this, as described. Do you access this IMAP account from more than one computer or device? Do you have any Rules in operation?

    That is strange.
Please reply with a screen shot of a small part of your screen (command shift 4 and drag). Full screen shots (command shift 3) are often difficult to read.
Wayne Contello has written a User Tip on how to post a screen shot.

  • File content suddenly "deleted", entire Final Cut Project won't reconnect

While freeing up space on my G5's internal harddrive, I deleted a number of really big video files that I was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I didn't need anymore.
Somehow, after I emptied the trash, however, a bunch of large video files on a completely separate drive became corrupted. The files themselves are still visible in the finder, but they all only contain between zero and 32 KB of size, meaning there's no content left in any of these files, hence, I can't reconnect any of my media.
I don't understand how deleting files on one drive would effect media files on a completely separate drive, as well as screw up the files for completely different projects.
I'm starting to think now I should try to do a file recovery, but it looks like this problem is greater than that and that something is seriously screwed up in my directory. Anyone else encountered this? How do I fix this?
Are my files actually still "there" and it's just a matter of fixing the directory or are they really gone for good?

It's possible that the QuickTime files on the other drive were non self-contained reference movies and were referencing the media you deleted.
When files are deleted, their reference in the disk's directory is removed, the space they occupy is marked as availble, but the data is still on the disk. However, since that space is marked as available, the files you deleted can be overwritten by other files, which would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to get your data back.
You can try using Prosoft Engineering's Data Rescue II to see if you can recover the data. A demo is available that will let you see if it's still possible to recover the data.
You should boot off of another disk if possible, as the more you use the drive that the files were on, the better the chance that they will get overwritten before you have a chance to recover them. Basically, don't do anything to that drive that requires writing to the drive - booting, downloading, etc.

  • How to delete xml content without deleting the content of the object?

Hey, with the following code I am marking up a page item and deleting it's xml content:
    text_value = text_area.xmlElements.add('text', current)

current is the current app.selection. The code works, with one downside: It also deletes the content of my text frame in my document. I only want to delete the xml content. Is this somehow possible?
