> I have checked the Database upgrade guide in service.sap.com and I got upgrade Docu (Oracle 9.2.0.6 to Oracle 10.2 WINDOWS ).
You also read it?
> Now my question is my current Oracle release and patch is oracle 9.2.0.4 .
> Kindly advise I have to upgrade patch 9.2.0.6 and then I have to Oracle Upgrade 9.2.0.6 to 10.2
Page 11 in the upgrade guide - "Planning section"
"If the source database runs Oracle 9.2.0.4, 9.2.0.3, 9.2.0.2, or 9.2.0.1,
you need to update the source database to patch set 9.2.0.6 or later."
Actually the guide from SAP is very good, you just have to read it and follow it step-by-step. Also "mix in" the notes mentioned in the guide.

    Hi,
There is no direct content database migration approach from eRoom to SharePoint.
However many third party tools such as Metalogix, Tzunami, and AvePoint are available to migrate eRoom content to SharePoint as well as you can write your own utility
to migrate content since there are various eRoom API available for the same.

    Hi VKMP,
As well as reading the documentation thoroughly the following note available in My Oracle Support may be useful -

Are you migrating or taking continual updates?
If migrating it might be worth considering The SQLDeveloper Migration Workbench (which moves more than just data)..

Also, there is a documentation link under the Oracle Migration

  • Migration from SQL Server 7.0 to Oracle 8.0.5

Can we migrate from SQL Server 7.0 to Oracle 8.0.5 directly without being converted to Oracle 8i objects

    Hi,
U can convert from sql server to Oracle 8 but u've to look after the stored procedures in mssql server. If the stored procedures contains any temporary table concepts and resultset then some manual changes are required.

  • Migration from Sybase 11.9.1 to Oracle 7.3.4

Does the Oracle Migration Workbench 1.2.2 support database migration from Sybase 11.9.1 to Oracle 7.3.4?
If not, is there any work-around or any other tool? Can we still use Migration Workbench for this migration?
    Thanks.

It is probably best to use the latest version of the workbench (1.2.5.0.0). Migration to 7.3 is not supported but should work except for the newer features, for example use long instead of blob and clob, and do not use 8i temporary tables.

  • KM content migration from EP5. to NW2004s

    Hi all,
Can you tell me if it’s possible to migrate KM content from EP5.0 to NW2004s?
I know that the only scenario supported by SAP is the migration from 5.0 to 6.0 and then upgrade to NW2004s.
But are there any tools that could be use to perform this migration directly from EP5.0 to NW2004s?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Paulo Ruivo

    Hi Paulo,
As suggested  by SAP recommended way is to migrate from EP5.0 to EP6.0 then upgrade to EP7.0.
No ,there are no standard migrating tool for migrating content as the way u want.I am afraid you may have to do it manually.

  • Content migration from old to new database server

There is thread upon thread upon question (as well as answer upon answer) of this already. I have 3 farms running concurrently. 1 production, 1 development and a new production (farm A, B and C respectively). Farm A's databases are on SQLa\SP while Farm
B is on SQLb\Beta and Farm C on SQLb\SP. I've successfully copied the content database over from Farm A to Farm B & C without an issue. Farm A and C are identical except for server names (service accounts etc).
What I'm trying to do now though is just a simple content refresh from FarmA to FarmC. Aside from shutting down FarmA and C, backing up & restoring the database again, is there another way to do this?

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is you want to find another way to change   farm A production environment to farm C production environment aside from shutting down FarmA and C, backing up & restoring the database .
    It  involves moving a farm.
Moving a farm typically involves the following steps:
Set up the new server farm
Move the databases to the new server farm
Shut down the old server farm
So how to move the databases to the new server farm is the point. For moving all the databases, you can backup and restore. Another way is detaching and attaching as the thread states:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/25215/the-best-practice-for-moving-content-database-between-two-farms
But copying the files is also a dangerous option due to file locks etc, and you don't want to take down the farm just to copy the data.
For more information, you can have a look at the blog:

  • Error while migrating from ms access 2003 db to oracle 10g in sqldeveloper

    Hello,
i am working on migration project from MS access 2003 to Oracle 10g on windows XP sp2 plateform using SQL developer.
it went quit smoothly till the "capture microsoft access" .so in this step the sql developer opens the access db in background... but while opening the file in background it gives error
Object library not registered i tried many workaround but of no use..
anybody's help in this regard would be well appreciated.
    thanks.

    Hi,
Did you follow all the steps in the SQL*Developer documentation about preparing the Access database for migration -
    Oracle® SQL Developer User’s Guide Release 3.0 -
2.2.4.3 Before Migrating From Microsoft Access
    and -
Oracle® SQL Developer Supplementary Information for Microsoft Access Migrations Release 3.0
2.4 Preparing the Microsoft Access Database for Capture
The error also indicates there may be a problem with your Access installation so could you check that everything is okay with that ? I have found references that indicate a re-install of Office/Access will prevent the error.

I understand that it would not be in the best interests of Oracle, monetarily that is (at least in the visible/tangible sense), to develop such a migration tool, but since the competition hasn't, why shouldn't you? I'm sure Prabha's not the first to inquire of such a thing, and I'm sure I'd have asked a similar question if I wasn't responding to you in this way. We all know Oracle is the better db - That's why we're here talking about it - but not everyone we do business with understands that, so establishing a two way street is the best way, short of requiring it of our clients, to turn them on to Oracle. I don't really think developing such a thing would hurt your business (unless MS can keep you from doing it). If your product is that much better (which we agree is true), you shouldn't be afraid of the competition. As for being afraid of proprietary constraints, I can't blame you, because I don't know how much it constrains you.

  • DB Migration from MS SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 9i

    Hi Guys
I want to migrate the data from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 9i.
Could ou please suggest me the how to proceed.
I can simply extract the das in CSV format as their are Foreign key , Primary key concept is there. So what will be the best way to proceed ....
    regards
    Macky

    Macky,
In the coming months we will add support for SQL Server 2005 to the Oracle Migration Workbench. See our statement of direction on OTN for more details.
If you have extracted the data into a csv file format, you could construct a SQL Loader control file to load this data, assuming you have already created the table on the Oracle side.
