Content Mirroring - as good as useless?

hi,
Controversial subject hopfully attracts smoe attention....
Implementing ESS and used content mirroring to move the Employee Self Folder and all content into my client namespace.....at first site this is great. We have a delta linked copies of the SAP standard that we can alter as required without affecting SAP standard itself....
BUT....the content mirroring only changes the top level IDs....so the Worksets in the new client namespace have pages that delta link straight back to the SAP namespace pages rather than to the new client namesspace pages that were created by the Content Mirror....
Anyone understand what I'm getting at? Is there a way to mirror content fully into a new namespace so it relates to itself rather than straight back tio the SAP standard content (that we don't to change as it will get overwritten in upgrade)....

Content Mirroring with WebDynpro ESS

Hi,
I created the ECC5 ESS package in my clients namespace. using Content Mirroring (this works nicely).
BUT the ESS role's Area/Group Area pages configed in the IMG still point to the standard installed ESS package. ie I nav to my ESS role click
Is there a tool simliar to Content Mirroring for the IMG to create all the necessary entries to match my new name space?
What is (current) best practice for webdynpro ESS? Can anyone point me to any docs? I've checked out the help but not seen anything to date...

Content mirroring

Dear Guru's
I have a question about content mirroring versus copy/paste with delta links.
Currently we have used the content delivered by SAP and copy/paste it to new folders. We have not used content mirroring for modification of the content.
What will be the impact if we import a new BP ? Will all modifications be lost ?

In case of Copy/Paste as Delta link, when the Business Package is updated by SAP, since the source object of your content is updated, the properties except the ones that are not inherited from the source object might get effected if you have not assigned the content into your own namespace. Make sure that you have copied the Contents into a root folder that you have created for the customer to ensure that you dont face any issues during upgrades.

Isight good but useless

Isight is a good product but useless since you can't communicate with most people because most people use MSN from their PC.
I have a beautiful iMacG5 with a pretty integrated Isight, but I haven't found one personn I know to make video communication : because in Europe everybody use MSN, and I haven't found a solution. I tried aMSn, but nobody can see me, the remote windows stay white.
As far as microsoft has released MSN for mac but without video functionnality, Apple's developers have to make ichat full-compatible with MSN.
Please Apple adress this problem.
Please do not ask me to tell my friends to use AIM,... they don't want to add another software, and I can understand.
Imagine than 95% of the population use a phone, but your own phone is not compatible with others and you will ask the other 95% of the population to get a phone like you...
P.S. Google is developping Google talk... we can communicate with google using jabber but no video ? It is supposed to use open-protocols. Does that mean that Ichat doesn't use a open-protocol for video ?

iSight is certainly NOT useless. You can use iSight for much more than video chat. Some Applications You Can Use With iSight
If your PC pals will use ONLY MSNM, see the Microsoft Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger) section of Common PC Chat Applications and iChat. In addition to aMSn, you can try Mercury Messenger for Mac, which is linked there.
iChat AV is a client of the AIM server. MSNM is a client of the MSN Server. Apple has no control over whether these two servers can connect with each other.
This site is for users like you and me to exchange ideas to help each other. Click here if you want to send your iChat Feedback directly to Apple.
If your friends object to AIM but would consider other apps, Trillian Pro and some other cross platform options are discussed in Mac Video Chat with PCs.
If they will use ONLY MSNM, if you really need to video with them, and if Mercury Messenger for Mac does not work for you, the only remaining option I can think of is for you to get or borrow a PC to use to talk to your PC app loving PC friends. Then you can use your Mac to do the things Mac software does best (like iChat AV), and you can use your PC when you MUST run PC apps.
Google is adding new features all the time. I have heard that cross-platform video is on the way, but I have seen neither scheduled dates or even rumors of how soon.
iChat AV 3's "Jabber" feature uses Jabber's protocols, but, as mentioned above, cross-platform video has not yet been implemented. You can find more info on what you can do in the "Jabber" section of the "Common PC Chat Applications and iChat" link above.

it is better to have it under database, as you would be giving permission to the content nodes to all user, it would be easier to maintain the db nodes separately,
i would also suggest giving speciality and language as tags and adding these tags to ur physician1 node, also if you feel there will be more than 100 physicians it would be better to create more tree structure inside that

IPhone 4S finicky mirroring to AppleTV

Having issues with mirroring iPhone 4S (iOS5) mirrored to AppleTV2 (4.4). The mirroring feature doesn't seem to work as advertised for me. It stutters a lot or the image freezes and the sound continues to play. So, mirroring becomes pretty much useless and unstable.
I tried mirroring several different games. I thought it might be a bandwidth or signal issue. The wireless signal on the iPhone 4S does seem to fluxuate the local wireless signal, but the ATV stays consistent at 4 out of 5 bars. My iPhone 3GS within the same room even holds a consistent full wireless signal.
Even when I'm streaming content from the internet, my download speed is ~15 mbps.
Otherwise, the normal AirPlay feature of sending HTML5 videos from iPhone to ATV works flawless as long as it's not streaming VUDU content.
On a side note, sometimes AirPlay abruptly drops video streaming over a specific period of time. This seems like a bug. I found shutting of autolock within settings solves the issue. But, then disabling autolock completely defeats the purpose of having an autolock option.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Having similar issues with my iPhone 4S. No problems with airplay and photostream works fine. Air mirroring works to start with but always after about 10minutes it stops working.
Whats confusing me is that when it does it kicks every device on my wireless network off requiring me reset my router then all is well. At the same time it does this the air mirroring option dissapears completely from iphone 4S ( perhaps wifi lost and this is the first sign of it? )
I'm reluctant to start messing with router settings and its not at all in keeping with my experience of Apple over last few years where everything ' just works'.
I've done all the ATV2 updates today x2 and required me to put in all my details again so I think ( but need to check ) that its now on 4.4 or higher. I had hopes this would fix it but seemingly not.
Is it worth ringing Apple helpline for stuff like this? Never have done before.

I need clarification on the following.
There are two different things. one is free of charge delivery and the other is free goods.
1) for free of charge delivery, order type is FD , I think we have to maintain TANN(with pricing as B,100% discount). This will trigger R100 as 100% discount condition in pricing procedure. Am i right ?
2) The other is Free goods determination(OR order type). where free goods condition records are maintained and gets determined in sales order. for this scenario, TAN and TANN (100% disc) is maintained in item caterory determination. I think in this case NRAB is required and not R100 in pricing ? am i right ? ..

Can a boot disk be converted to a raid mirror without reformatting?

Today the the original 250Gb SATA drive in my G5 started making some awful clicking sounds and seems beyond recovery. Backups are about 2 weeks old, not too bad.
I replaced that with a new 300 Gb drive and reinstalled everything. I'm thinking of adding a second 300 Gb driver and mirroring everything.
Can I simply add the new drive and create a RAID mirror, or do I need to reinstall everything after creating the mirror? I wasn't able to find anything that mentioned that process.

Problem with mirrors is it instantly copies everything that's written to the first drive and people have had problems booting from a mirror.
What you need instead is to auto-clone your boot drive occasionally and make daily auto-backups of certain folders.
This way not only do you have a hardware protection, but software protection as well. You can go back to a previous OS version if you need too, you can boot from the clone if you need to, even reverse clone.
So you have more flexability, mirroring is good for one time data captures that a hardware failure is not a option.

You can post Web pages and HTML to the Content Library, u can post URL to your reports or portal to make them available through the Content Library.

Scrollbar for content in Lightbox?

Added some images to a lightbox. When the lightbox content is larger than the browser screen size no vertical scroll bar is shown in the browser, so you can't scroll the content, which kinda renders it useless. How do I get the scrollbar to appear? Apologies if I am missing something obvious? TIA

Portal Content Copy Folder Error

Hi,
In Portal Content Admin, the folders Key Account Manager & CRM are provided by business package and located under Content Provided by SAP -> specialist.
When these folders are copied to another folder for further customization, Key Account Manager is copied successfully but for CRM, following error message is shown:
Copy: CRM
Error
Source object not found. It may have been deleted.
Then, I tried to copy CRM's subfolder. Small folders (packages, pages, roles, templates) completed successfuly but the complicated folders (iViews & Worksets) failed with the same error message.
Although I can try to copy the sub-folders one by one, it is too tedious & error-prone.
How can the CRM folder be copied completed?

The reason for the error is still unknown.

How to get content off AppleTV before syncing w/ new computer?

I've got an Apple TV that's got all sorts of content on it -- much of it bought directly on the Apple TV via the iTunes Store.
The problem is that the Apple TV hasn't been "attached" or "synced" or whatever you want to call it with a computer in over a year. So there's a lot of content on the Apple TV that doesn't exist in my computer's iTunes library.
When I go to set up the relationship between the Apple TV and the computer, the Apple TV tells me that it's going to erase all it's content. Not good! I don't want to lose all things I have on there. I want them to sync back to my iTunes library.
The content I purchased on the Apple TV was bought under the same iTunes account that my computer uses, if that helps.
Any ideas?

there is no way around this i'm afraid. the appletv will see your new computer as a entirely new itunes library and as such if the content is not in your itunes library, it will be removed from the appletv.
this is a good example of why the appletv should not be used as a storage device, the appletv should always only ever have copies of content, and not the only copy.

Catch soap faults

I have the following scenario: SAP ABAP proxy --> XI --> IIS web service. The IIS web service is not in my hand.
At some request the server has internal server errors. In that case we get SOAP faults from the web service. Now we have the situation that such SOAP faults causes XI mapping errors. But this is not good. I would like to transfer such faults as application faults to the calling ABAP proxy. But I don't know how I can catch these SOAP faults.
Here is the situation in detail.

Is there any opportunity to catch such SOAP faults or server errors? I would like to map them in the xi fault structure. So the calling ABAP proxy gets the error message. Now I get a XI error and always a mail because I use the alert framework. But this is no XI error and I don't want to get such error messages.

Yes. I have a WSDL from the external web service but the WSDL doesn't contain any fault definition. But I know the fault structure because I catch such an exception with XML Spy SOAP Proxy. The Exception looks like in my first post.
The problem is that I don't get this exception in my hands. When I use the Message Display Tool of the Runtime Workbench I can only see the <ServerExceptions> node of the exception in my payload. So I only can deal with this. So I have specified a xsd for this.

Can I use iCloud has photo storage disc, when iPhone becomes full ?
When in travel, I know I will have problems with storage.
In the past I used my old iPod to store my photos taken by my sony camera.
But now, with iPhone I can no longer do that, because there is no way to export my photos from iPhone, unless I travel with a computer.
The problem is that, when I share photos with iCloud, everything is shared, and so if my iPhone has 32 Gb capacity, when it reaches its full capacity I need to disable sharing in iPhone, automatically cleanning all photos from there and having other xxxGB of space in iPhone.
In total I can have maybe 40 GB of photos. (20gb in iCloud + 20 gb in iPhone).
Am I thinking right ? Or is the sharing photos tab in iPhone, a folder that do not use iPhone storage disc ? It only mirrors what is in iCloud ?

Hello Pedro.
You can't use iCloud with Leopard, you need Lion.
Additionally, Photostream puts all the Photostream photos on your phone, so even if you were to delete them from your camera roll they would still use the space for the Photostream content.
A good option to look at would be Dropbox which lets you upload photos from your photo app, allowing you to delete them from your phone. You would need to make sure you did this over wifi though as 20 GB over 3G would likely exceed your data plan.
