Content of external HD (fat 32) not arranged properly after switch to 10.5

Hi everyone
I hope this question is new, I tried to find an answer before posting this.
Here's the case in a nutshell:
- I got an external, FAT formatted harddisk
- The problem seems to affect only 10.5, since it didn't occur on 10.4
- Now all the content of the harddisk isn't arranged
More specific:
- How it looks: The folders / filers are scattered randomly, partly over each other
- I tried rearrange the files or folders, but when I connect the disk a 2nd time after, the changes I've made are lost (of course after ejecting it the right way).
Have you any idea how I can solve this? Although it's not that important, it gets annoying, especially when I have to arrange a folder every time I need to find something within..
I'd be most greatful to read some comments about this issue.

The reason the settings were not stored was my way of setting the view. Apparently this is a very basic user fault, because I set the view via the the buttons at the top. To keep a view setting however, it seems to be necessary to select it in the view options menu. A logical distinction between current and setup view type.
The external hd still doesn't remember the arrangement options I set up though. But I could bypass this by setting the default arrangement type to name, because this global setting affects the external hd as well.
All in all, I guess the cause is a mixture of both format and non format related problems: While the setting of an individual folder is not a problem on the internal drive, it doesn't work on the external. I guess this is because of the format. On the other hand I didn't know that temporary and permanent settings require (in this case) different approaches.
Still, I think it's worth mentioning the open question remains why this wasn't an issue in the older OS..
So thanks again to both of you. This was a good experience, to see a forum respond this fast and efficient. Time allows, I'll try to do my share and help others as well.

Well, as the subject says, my keyboard is not working properly after I updated the firmware. The problem is that several keys (delete, down arrow, brackets and apostrophe) stopped working right after I installed the update. I never dropped it or hit it. And I did not stop or interrupt or did anything during the install. I take very good care of it.
I have already tried toubleshooting with the support page, restarting the iMac, taking off the batteries, setting it up with bluetooth again, going back a week with time machine and to reinstall the firmware. So, if you have something new for me to try, I will really apreciate it.

I have 24" iMac with the Apple wireless M&KB - I know this is basic but have you tried a fresh set of batteries? My KB will refuse to establish connection when batteries are on the weak side the firmware update may just be a co incidents. If your wireless mouse is working OK then I would guess the blue tooth is functioning.
Not sure about the 10.49 download - are your other file downloads completing properly? Are there any error messages?

iTunes is not working properly after the newest update... It dosen't see my iPhone, the program acts very sluggish, and has trouble loading the Store. Anyone have a solution or an explanation? Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you mean by not working properly? Explain in detail.
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Have you tried a battery pull? If the issue is still there, you can either take it to the store or downgrade your software to the previous version to troubleshoot.

whatsapp is not working properly after software update, some times contacts never sync. screen goes pale and chat window doesn't show properly.
Looks like memory problem after the new updates or anything else?

Similar complains around the web. I'd recommend getting the phone flashed at a care point to see if that improves the situation.
Do wait for a couple of weeks for the full firmware files to be available at the respective care centers. AFAIK, they are not yet available in India.

I have noticed that when using Tigers Dosk utility to ERASE a flash drive I have a choice of FAT but not FAT32. It seems that flash drives formatted as FAT do not work properly when trying to copy files from a Windows machine. Why?

I have found that USB FLASH drives formatted as FAT do not always work on Windows machines. Why? How can I use Tiger to format for FAT32?

I think it depends on the size of the Flash Drive as to whether it uses FAT16 or FAT32.
Can you format it FAT32 on the PC?

Enable "External Identification of Delivery Note (LIKP-LIFEX)" after PGI

Hi Frnds,
I have a specific requirement where in After PGI is done, the field "External Identification of Delivery Note", in the administration tab of the VL02n transcation, has to be enabled for user input.
In the Standard SAP normal process, this filed becomes non-editable once the PGI is done for a delivery.
Is there a way we can acheive this?
Z subroutines, exit...???

There is no way to do this in standard SAP.
Alternative way is after PGI, un-do PGI, update the field and again PGI using a custom program which is very cumbersome.

Content Not Coming Properly after converting a Smartform to PDF.

I am converting a smartform into PDF format using CONVERT_OTF .
This smart form will be triggered from the portal at the occurance of an event .After Conversion some texts are properly outputted in the PDF but some texts which are in arabic are not coming properly ( shows some junk data in a language other than Arabic).
Can any give a Solution ??

Images,css not appearing properly after accessing the reverse proxy page.

Usecase :
1) OHS1 with mod_osso agent deployed.
2) OHS1 configured as reverse proxy.It points to the webserver(OHS2) of the app1.
OHS1(mod_osso agent installed)-->OHS2(app1 webserver)
3) httpd.conf entry in OHS1:

4) The direct url for appl1 works as per expectation. The reverse proxy redirects from the OHS1 correctly to the app1 OHS webserver accessing the app1 url.But the contents in the redirected app1 url are not aligned properly.Images,css,placement of html links are not appearing properly on the page.
Do we need to do any other configuration in the revere proxy setup so as to avoid the misalignment on the redirected page?

Thanks for the reply! I have been UTTERLY scrupulous about
keeping precisely time-matched and points-in-my-process-matched
copies of the project folder for logical, "scientific" testing in
RH5 and RH7, on precisely matched content.
I have never even tried to open an RH7-processed copy of the
project in RH5 because I was warned strongly against this action.
It boils down to this; I cleaned up, FANATICALLY, all those
illegitmate filenames, ran the project again in 5, still got
impermissible missing images (and I mean MORALLY impermissible,
because I'm doing the right thing!)
Then, I took that project folder, copied it, and opened the
exact same ingredients, via the .xpj file, in RH7. Same missing
images.
WAIT! Left out something important in first post! Dang; this
was important! I've fixed missing images, had them appear properly
upon compilation, then had others that HAD been right, come out
missing. Have also had reimported, re-placed images come out upon
compilation following repair, and then go missing again on third or
later, subsequent compilations. Maddening.
Am EXTREMELY reluctant to delete CPD file, because the last
time I did that, I lost EXTENSIVE work I'd done on TOC and Index.
Not cool at all.
Hope this wasn't too cranky; truly grateful for help. Just
very frustrated.

Yosemite "[Thunderbolt 2] disk not ejected properly" after sleep

Since installing Yosemite, when my Mac Pro comes out of sleep, I get a "Disk not ejected properly" for each disk drive attached by Thunderbolt 2. This all worked fine on Mavericks.
(I have a similar problem with my dual displays, which again worked fine on Mavericks - I've posted this on a different thread under Mac Pro).
The manual solution is to physically unplug the drives, but doing this more than 10 times a day is not impressing me.

Not sure how that helps Illaass - that thread is just another question with no answers. It might be an idea if you read the thread before suggesting it?
There is another thread that suggests a solution (link below), but I've attempted that fix with no success. I also get the "Scheduled Backup Failed" that is mentioned by others.

Note that none of these issues happened before upgrading to Yosemite - everything was fine on Mavericks - and it appears as though Apple are keeping quiet on them.

Touchpad not working properly after changing LCD and invertor

I was having display problems, went through repairer. He changed the LCD, invertor and fixed some issues of motherboard(related display output). After fixing these issues i am facing touchpad issues. Touch is not working properly, and when I use USB mouse its working but after 1-2hr mouse is also not working properly. I connected to external monitor then touchpad is working fine without any issues. Kindly help me and tell me the root cause.

I understand the touchpad and mouse are not working on your notebook after having your display serviced.
It seems quite odd that they would work fine on an external monitor, and to be totally blunt this is something I cant even attempt to explain.
Was this service provided by an HP service provider or was it done by an independent provider?
Try using the notebook in safe mode to see if there is an issue with the display driver causing some kind of wonky issue. Without knowing which version of Windows you are running I cannot tell you exactly how to boot safe mode on your notebook, but you can find this information easily by searching "Safe Mode Windows #" in Google.
Other than this I would suggest getting back in touch with the service provider if the issue started immediately after they provided service to the notebook.

BC editor not previewing properly after saving

I raised this issue a few weeks (could even be more like months) ago with BC, haven't heard anything back.. apparently it was an "issue" they were working on.
When editing a page in BC, all looks fine (text is styled) however when you save/publish, the content is then displayed by the editor as default text. (no styling). This is not so bad for me, because I know what's going on and how it will look, but for clients, they are trying to fix the formatting etc, because it doesn't look right.. When you preview the actual file in browser, it looks fine. It's just the editor that is not previewing properly. If you go out of the page again and edit, it will display properly, but as soon as you save/publish, it defaults again.

I believe you may be referring to support ticket #35920 in which my colleague confirmed this was a bug and recorded this issue in our bug tracking software. For your reference, the bug ID was 3569891.
I can see there has been progress made on this bug and it looks like a fix may be rolled out with our next release. However this is not something I can confirm just yet.
