Where Can I find content for Final Cut Studio!
Hello,
I had final cut studio on my program but I didn't know that it came with content. I threw the box away. Is there a way where I can get those content for the programs?
Thanks"But the truth is i got it" yes you did....off a bit torrent. The DVDs are packaged together, it's quite obvious that you illegally obtained a stripped copy. No one is going to fall for your scam, you have some nerve to come here and try and pull it off. Your elementary school english isn't convincing either. I hate to be a bit rude but you have to grow up. If you did actually have a copy you could just show apple your serial number sheet and they'd replace the missing software, but that isn't the case here is it? You have embarrassed yourself and you name here.
Mods please lock this!!! -

Normal to have "Final Cut Studio - Audio Content 1" disc in package?
Hello All,
I am trying to install a newly purchased Logic Studio 9 and the installation is not going well; it is asking me for an "Additional Content" disc...but I don't have such a disk in the box...I do have a Final Cut Studio Audio Content 1 disk though...is this some kind of mistake and it shipped with the wrong disks?scotopia wrote:

Additional Content and FCS Audio Content are not the same
If the copy of Logic Studio you bought shipped with a wrong disc you need to return it for a replacement.

Additional Content - Final Cut Studio
I'm going to be getting a new MacBook Pro as soon as they refresh, and I already own Final Cut Studio 2, but I'd like to get an SSD with the MBP, and I was just wondering about the additional content for FCS. I'm debating between a 128gb and 256gb, and the ~50gb of content that comes with FCS will be the deciding factor for me. Can I install this content on a drive separate from the application?
I will only be editing when I have my external drive attached anyway, so I'd much rather throw it on a 2TB drive than on the internal SSD, especially when that means I can save a few hundred dollars on going with the lower SSD size. Is it possible to do this?
Thanks.SSD are fabulous because of no moving parts and incredibly fast access times, and read/write capabilities.
I have one.
But I don't see any significant improvements in FCP for editing. A 7200 rpm fast Seagate Momentous is an excellent boot drive. Much cheaper, but not as fast booting, or loading apps.
But that doesn't matter when editing. -
How to remove Final Cut Studio content, extras, etc?
Hi,
I want to say that I do not want to delete the apps. What I want to do is only remove the extra content.
Essentially, I installed the entire Final Cut Studio on my MacBook Pro and am realizing I should not have done the complete install (eats up hard drive like no tomorrow).
So.. any / all advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks! In Motion, open the Motion preferences found in the Motion menu... on the front page you see the path names to templates and livefonts... If you remove them, you could place them on another drive like a FW drive... and access them that way.
In Livetype, The media files are located in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/LifeType/Templates. You could move them, then add their new location to the window that opens when you select LiveType's Preferences. Then LT will look for templates in this new location.
In DVD SP, the location of styles and templates is near the same path as in LiveType, however in the DVD SP folder. To reset them to a new location, the preferences for DVD SP you can change the location of where DVD SP looks for these...
I'd not want to lose them altogether, but you won't hurt anything doing so... I'd put them on an external drive and reset where the various apps look for them, and if all is well, delete the originals...

Reinstall Final Cut Studio without reinstalling content, templates, etc.?
I had to reinstall my entire OS because of a major system failure. I am now in the process of reinstalling all my applications and my question is this:
All of the content, templates, sound loops, etc. that are installed with Final Cut Studio (40+ GBs of data) I had installed onto an external hard drive. Thus the content is all still there.
I am about to reinstall FCS onto my system and was wondering if there was a way I could point the installer or respective applications to the content on my external hard drive. This would prevent having to reinstall all 40+ GBs of content onto the external drive again and would save probably about three hours.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how? Thanks.Good luck getting an answer on reinstalling, but I may be able to help. When you put the first Final Cut Studio install disc in, it asks you what you want to install, and gives you the option of unchecking a bunch of stuff like a bunch of livetype media and such. I haven't tried this, but I would imagine that you could just uncheck what you have installed elsewhere and when you open the application for the first time, it will probably ask you to reconnect the media files. At least that's how it sounds like apple would do it.

Audio Content 1,2,3 Logic/Final Cut Studio
Hello.
Do I have to install both Audio Contents 1,2,3 from Logic Studio and Final Cut Studio ???
or the content from these three DVDs is perfectly the same???
LOW DISK SPACE HERE...
ThanksIt's easy... just boot from your OS CD, and choose erase and install from the optional installs button once booted. Run Software update a few times until there is no more to update... This will erase the hard drive and install a new OS on it.
Install whatever.
To boot from this drive, hold down the option key during a startup , and you can pick it from the dialog box that opens. To reboot just select the other drive in the startup disk pref in Apple System prefs.

Final Cut Studio is crashing a lot using a Mac Pro (nehalem) 2009
Greetings,
I have a video workstation based on a Mac Pro (2x2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Nehalem, 6 GB RAM, 640 GB HD, 512 NVIDEA VRAM) with a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 2009 and an Highpoint RocketRAID 4322 card (properly connected to a RAID 5 array).
I'm editing, with Final Cut Studio 3, a big TV project with some TGA and loads of HD XDCAM EX 35mbs video footage.
*What is happening wrong?*
Final Cut Pro is crashing to many times and dont let me work with the flow that is supposed. I start to work and i do a bit of scrubbing in the timeline and suddenly the rainbow spyral starts to spin and kaput! FCP just crashes.
I've tried to many things. Re-installing everything from the baseline, plug out the 2 PCIe cards (and not even the drivers are installed). Even so FCP still crashes with the project.
Funny thing is... This symptom only happens with the Nehalem Mac Pro. I have another station based on a Mac Pro 2x2.66 GHz Dual Core Xeon 3 GB RAM 2006 and when i run the project... everything works fine. FCP here doesn't crash.
This is what makes me believe that the problem must be with the new Mac Pro.
I have the reports generated by the FCP after the crash. You can find it here:
http://www.ideiascompernas.com/reports/
I'm getting frustrated because i've invested big in this workstation, safe in the knowledge that it was going to be stable to complete my requirements.
Is there anything that i or Apple can do to resolve my problem. Is it the processor? Extended Hardware Test says that everything is ok.
I'll be waiting,
best regards, thanks,

I see you have the GT120, not a very nice card really but maybe it is 'enough.' I'd upgrade. To ATI Radeon 4870, once you get it stable and working.

I see your crash is kernel panic actually.
Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000000

Almost always that is memory related, are you seeing parity errors?
Watch System Profile - Memory tab
Replace the RAM (I'd even up it to more memory, 6 x 2GB is what I would have configured for)
Have you tested your RAM? run Apple Hardware Test?
Disabled ALL USB and Firewire devices?
Is the RR4322 okay to run in slot #2 (16x) rather than in slot 3 or 4 (4x)?
Getting RAM replaced, advanced exchange, or go out and getting some Kingston or Crucial etc for your system, and swapping, really is one good method, trial and error, to find the cultprit or rule out RAM.
Errors like this can mean flushing your caches is a must, and possibly due to errors and crashes, clean system install, checking data (both time consuming) and being careful to recheck your drives with Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro 5 to insure there are not any corrupt files (not perfect either which is why restore the system from known good backup image can be a must). -
I just purchased an iMac for home and went to install final cut studio 2 and it gave me an error saying something about "PowerPC" not used or something like that. Installed the studio upgrade just fine...but it has no "Live Type" which I need to work on projects I have been using in my Mac Pro at my work place. How do I get "Live Type" to install in this iMac? Downloaded Live Type upgrade but that won't update cause there's no "Live Type" in the applications.
It sounds like you have Lion installed on your new imac, although your profile says SL 10.6.8 (you may want to change this.)
If you have the Snow Leopard install disc I believe you can install "Rosetta" from the extras folder which will then, if you have the original FCS2 discs , allow you to select and install Live Type and LIve Type content only from the custom install options.
I hope this will work for you.

Unable to install Final Cut Studio 2.0
I had the previous version of FInal Cut Studio and just purchased Final Cut Studio 2. I chose to uninstall Final Cut Studio first by dragging all the studio programs to the Trash figuring I didn't want to chance having two versions of Final Cut Studio on my computer.
I then went in to install Final Cut Studio 2. It allowed me to install the items such as Motion Content, LiveType, Audio Content, Studio Pro, etc. The option for selecting Final Cut Pro was greyed out and said skip. I don't know why but it's like it already thought it was on there and would just upgrade it. I tried it several times but always had this same set of options.
I went on then and did an install of Final Cut Studio hoping that when it came to installing it would actually work right. Well it installed all the supporting programs but not Final Cut Pro. How can I properly install the whole suite? The FinalCut Suite 5 I'm running is misbehaving so before I install the new FinalCut Pro 6 Suite, I'd like to uninstall all of FCP Suite components and _all of their settings and customizations_. How do I make sure the new install is _absolutely clean and nothing from the previous installation effects it?_
Thanks,

Can I use Final Cut Studio 2 software on a MacBook Air?
My old MacBook Pro was stolen a couple of years ago and I replaced it with a MacBook Air OSX 10.9.5. I still have the software from Final Cut Studio 2 which I used on my MacBook Pro. I haven't got around the replacing this and was looking at the Final Cut App when it dawned on me I might be able to use the software I have. Any thoughts? I know nothing about how computers work, so a simple 'No', 'Yes' or 'Do this to make it work', would be great!
I think the gist of what the two former responders are saying is that, if you can upgrade to software that will run natively in Yosemite, then you are seemingly much better off!
I am not a film editor (although I play one on my computer! hahahaha) but I have been told by many FCS2 users that they need ongoing access to it because of clients who ask for editorial updates to older projects. My understanding is that Final Cut Pro X will NOT open the FCS2 files for processing. Hence a valid reason to be able to install and operate FCS2 on today's modern Macs.
There are three methods to install and operate FCS2 in Mavericks; I have no confirmation yet that these work in Yosemite, or if once installed in Yosemite, FCS2 will operate properly. Here is a recent post I prepared to provide this information:
Apple has created a "bug" in the attempt to install FCP6 in Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks, which makes it look like Rosetta is needed for a PowerPC app, the installer, so as to make it difficult for the use of FCP6 in these versions of OS X! There are three ways to install it:
1. Pacifist https://www.charlessoft.com/
2. Jeremy Johnstone's Terminal method http://www.jeremyjohnstone.com/blog/2012-03-11-installing-final-cut-pro-studio-2 -0-on-mac-os-x-10-7-lion.html
3. HawaiianHippie has discovered the best and safest possible solution to this problem:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/26309669?ac_cid=tw123456#26309669
I have now successfully done this on four computers, brand new iMacs running 10.9.4. And I've discovered an even easier way to do this! You don't need to edit the plist file, just move it into the Trash. Install proceeds normally. You can return it after you're done if you like, I don't know what (if any) possible repercussions might come from leaving it deleted.
The file, as indicated on Jeremy Johnstone's blog, is
/System/Library/CoreServices/Installer.app/Contents/Resources/PPCRequirements.pl ist
(Note that when you get to Installer.app, you will have to Control+click and select "Show Package Contents")
I have not, as yet, attempted to recreate his success. -
I am installing final cut studio 2 on my computer and its been awhile since I bought it so I am not sure which disc its asking for. I have so many final cut disc here mixed up here, I put in the install disc and then it ask for Audio Content one could someone tell me what disc that is I have motion and apple loops and dvd studio 4 but can't seem to find the Audio Content disc and what version it is? Thanks
well I imagine the audio content disk is labelled ... wait for it... "audio content." You can choose NOT to install additional content (like audio content) if you can't find the disk, so that you can successfully install the applications.
