Content of HHK file is not reflected in CHM

I have created an index using the Smart Index Wizard based on
the Topic Title only. After tidying up unwanted keywords, I removed
some of the multiple topics linked to some keywords (typically
those that can be accessed from other linked topics already listed
against that keyword). I did this by editing the HHK and removing
the unwanted links. Saved the HHK. No problem here.
I also edited some of the Topic Titles in the HHK file so
that they are more specific. When seen via the Index section (RH
X5) in the Index Keyword Properties window, the Topic Titles have
been changed accordingly. However, when running the CHM, it still
uses the old Titles, as if those titles don't actually come from
the HHK file or are being cached from somewhere else.
I exited RH many times. Copied the CHM to some unrelated
folder but no difference. Anybody knows where those Topic Titles in
the Topic Found window (1 keyword pointing to multiple links) are
coming from?
Thanks
Michel

Rick,
Thank you very much. It worked.
Any side effects to de-setting that Binary option? Is that
only for sorting? Wondering why it doesn't simply say 'Sort?

    HI Alex,
    Answers to your questions inline below:
    So you are editing a file, modifying the content in there and saving it but the changes are being lost?
    Ans: Yes.
    1. Have you checked the file immediately after closing it to see if the changes lasted?
    Ans: I am not sure, if I checked the files immediately after. I think the changes were saved properly because I didn't get any error.
    I managed to print out a file with a new element on one day but on the next day in the same file, I saw that element was not there.
    I sometimes open the files through the Newsfeed tab, does that matter? My understanding is that the system is going to the original location to open the file
    2. Do the changes then disappear later that day at some point?
    Ans: That is my understanding.
    3. Does this happen just for those files?
    Ans: So far I have observed it for two of the files only.
    4. Do you have versioning or publishing enabled on those lists? Versioning will let you see who changed it when and approval or publishing might be hiding things?
    Ans: Versioning is enabled, publishing - not.
    When I go to check versions to see, if maybe someone overwritten my change and retrieve the previous version, there is no previous version with the changes i made
    the previous day.
    Thanks.

  • Compiled CHM File Does Not Reflect New Project Name

    I have read many of the experts' responses to posts and found them extremely helpful. However, I have not seen one that addresses my issue.
    I have RH HTML Version RH8. I renamed a project via 1) File - Rename Project and 2) Single Source Layouts - Primary Layout - Properties - Output Folder and File Name.
    Two problems are: 1) The Project Folder name still reflects the old project name and 2) The CHM file still reflects the old project name.
    As a result, the output Help that the user sees still has the old project name in the title bar.
    All generated files as well as the RoboHelpHTML Project File were changed to the new project name, just as the RENAME PROJECTS Help says it should. However, the CHM file does not reflect the new project name as it says it should.
    1) Can I change the Folder name that was created when I compiled the Help file to the correct name?
    2) Can I change the FILENAME in the SELECT OUTPUT FOLDER AND FILENAME  window?
    3) Can I / should I rename the TOC and Index filenames from the old project name to the new project name? (Help says that changing the project name does not change these file names and it didn't.)
    Will any of these actions correct the problem? I appreciate any help you can give.

    Try File > Project Settings.
    And if that doesn't get it, try the Project Set-up pod, windows and change the Window Caption.

  • Changes made in LR 1.3 to psd files are not reflected in ACR 4.3, Bridge 2.1.1.9, or Photoshop CS3

    I have repeatedly imported several psd images into LR 1.3, made changes in the develop mode, and saved metadata to file manually in addition to having the auto write metadata option on in LR and ACR. Any changes I have made in LR are not reflecting in Bridge previews or in ACR or Photoshop. I don't believe I should have to utilize the write to xmp options (even though I have been) since the files in question are psd and the metadata gets written directly into the file. If I delete the photo from LR, and even delete the LR catalog (new user trying to make it work with 1 photo at least before importing all images) and re-import the psd to LR it appears with the changes and can backlog in the history panel to it's original state upon import into LR. I would have to be in LR though to know that anything was altered as the other Adobe programs will not display the changes.
    If anyone has any help - I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Ann

    ACR 4.3
    LR 1.3
    Bridge 2.1.1.9
    PS CS3 (updated last week)

    I don't think the problem lies in the name. LR is after all meant to function as a data base of images and be a companion program to PS - with PS doing the heavy editing lifting. I do understand that PS is a pixel editing file and LR is not. I like the idea of the non-destructive editing that LR has to offer and for a lot of image "developing" I prefer LR's interface to ACR.
    In my humble opinion, I just think that the Photoshop family of products should all be able to read the same metadata. If I am starting in LR with a psd file (with layers) and I continue to process the image further in LR and save the metadata - therefore saving the changes - I want to be able to open that same file (not another copy) in ACR, PS, or Bridge and have those changes reflected. The only way to do that currently is to export the file and when you do that you lose the PS layers and the LR history panel or another way around it is you can have edit copies of the same file. If at a later date you wanted to go back and change something, you can't just pull out a layer in PS or undo a history state in LR and with the multiple copies of essentially the same image you end us with any editing history scattered amongst multiple files. I already keep 2-4 (original, psd, jpeg print, jpeg web) files for one image which I think is more than adequate. Which is why I find the current set up so frustrating. For now I have just settled for exporting jpegs so I can see the changes.

  • Changes made in book file are not reflected in RH when book is updated

    I'm using RH7 in TCS1.  (I know, I know, everybody else is on RH8 in TCS2). I've added a book file by reference to my project. Then I made a few changes to titles in my FM book, then updated my project, but none of the changes have been made in RH.
    Any ideas?

    You're not the only one using TCS1. I, too, must endure Adobe's initial FM-RH Integration software offering with its limited patches and multiple workarounds (I don't sound bitter, do I?).
    Do you have the latest patches?
    When you say you modified titles in your FM book, did you modify the document titles from the book file, thereby changing the file names? Or did you change heading styles within a FM document/chapter?
    If you changed the file name in any way, verify in the RH Project Manager that all links to the referenced FM files are not broken. If any file links are broken, you can resolve them in the RH Project Manager.
    Changing a heading name within a FM document should not cause you this grief, as long as the file links between FM and RH remain intact.
    As I don't know your level of experience, I'll make an suggestion to someone new to FM-RH integration (although, since you're using TCS1, I presume you are an experienced user). When updating the RH project, are you selecting Force Update or Update All. Force Update applies changes made in FM to your RH project. Update All only applies changes made in RH.
    Also, RH has a feature that allows you to select specific topics to ignore when running a Force Update (i.e. changes in FM won't be applied to the selected topics). Make sure no topics are selected for this purpose.
    If all else fails (and I don't recommend this unless you tried every other possibility), delete and re-import the book. There's another thread that helps you through this process without you having to manually reapply your settings.
    Good luck!

  • After deployment of war/exploded war modified files are not reflected

    Dear All,
    I have done the application deployment(war/exploded war) successfully in weblogic 10.3.5.0 version But After deployment js/jsp files to get updated through the scheduler in the following path Weblogic/user_projects/domains/domain/servers/my_server/tmp/_WL_user/myapp/7i4bde/war/
    The files are getting updated successfully with updated values in above specified path.
    But it is not getting reflected, when we are accessing the application.
    Kindly help for the same..
    Thanks in Advance
    Vijay Jetti

    Hi Vijay,
    When your doing a deployment,
    Stop the Managed server,
    Rename the folders "tmp" and "cache" to tmp_04012013 and cache_04012013 inside Weblogic/user_projects/domains/domain/servers/my_server/
    (This is for clearing the Cache)
    After Deployment-->Start the managed server.
    On starting the services,new directory tmp and cache will be created and All the changes will be automatically be reflected.
    As you have said,
    After deployment js/jsp files to get updated through the scheduler in the following path
    Weblogic/user_projects/domains/domain/servers/my_server/tmp/_WL_user/myapp/7i4bde/war/Make a point to restart the managed server once the scheduled job is complete(No need to clear the cache).
    Assume your scheduler is set at 6.00,then restart the services around 6.30
    Hope this helps.

  • Why does my .sparseimage file size not reflect the amount of data insde of it?

    SUMMARY
    I have an uncompressed sparese image file that has over 35GB of data inside of it, yet the image file always claims to be taking up 4.29GB of space on the drive on which it resides.
    DETAILS
    The image file was created with Disk Utility useing the following settings:
    When I mount the image and Show Inspector for the contents, I see this:
    However, when I Get Info on the image file itself, mounted or not, I get this:
    I was expecting that the size of the file would be reported as roughly the same as the size of it's contents.
    What gives?
    -t

    Hello, and thank you for the new reply.
    I'm sorry to be slow with my responses, but I am wrapped up in the task of sorting out what has turned out to be over 100GB of photos and videos that I shot over the last ten years and have backed up all over the place ... I'm sorting through all of it and getting it all organized for the first time.
    OK, here are the results of ls -lR@ /Volumes/Bin/
    $ ls -lR@ /Volumes/Bin/
    total 8382080
    -rwxrwxrwx@        1      <username>  staff  4291448832 Nov 12 09:04 00000.MTS
        com.apple.ResourceFork           286
    drwxrwxrwx        32      <username>  staff        1088 Jan 30 15:38 Misc
    drwxr-xr-x       1638      <username>  staff       55692 Mar  3 00:02 Images
    drwxr-xr-x         922      <username>  staff       31348 Mar  3 00:02 Videos
    That'st the first bit, and there there are a zillion pages listing the contents of the top level directories. (Over 17k files)
    Again, when I mount the sparseimage file, I see everything that I expect to see inside of it ... my backups of thousands of photos and hundreds of video files.  I can view all of them, so the data is definitely there.  This is why I am confused as to why the sparseimage file itself is being reported as so small!
    I just noticed this ... there is a large video file in the root of the mounted image; 00000.MTS which happens to be 4.29GB in size ... everything else is located in one of the three directories that are listed.  Now, the sparseimage  happens to be reported as 4.29GB in size.  That can't be a coincidence.   Is the OS reporting the size of the sparseimage file based on the total reported contents of only the root directory?  If so, that would explain why it shows as being 4.29GB.  That would, however, be kind of a bug, no?  Should it not report the size of the sparseimage as being the total size of all of the contents of the image?
    As a test, I just moved that file into the Videos directory and then unmounted the image.  bin.sparseimage is still reported as being 4.29GB.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that changes to Excel files are not getting updated.
    I recommend to configure Excel Services data refresh by using Secure Store and an external Office Data Connection (ODC) file.

  • RoboHelp 8  - All files are not transferring over

    When I upgrade a file to RoboHelp 8, the file does transfer over; however, the contents within that file does not come with it.  RoboHelp will show the Icon with the name of the file.  So, there is no table of contents.
    Is there a remedy to this?  How can I get the files to come with the folder?  I am using my local drive.

    Hi Debbie
    Hmmm, it sure would seem the project is open, eh?
    Perhaps try reinstalling RoboHelp? Sounds like something got
    clobbered somewhere along the way. Also, from what you have
    reported you were formerly working on a network resource? If so,
    ouch - not good - always better to work locally! From what you have
    described it would almost seem that your RoboHelp project has
    somehow managed to be created using absolute references for the
    topics. That would seem odd because RoboHelp normally creates
    relative things. However, we have seen all sorts of weirdness when
    you work off a network. That's just one of the reasons we advise
    against it.

  • Searching content of .dmg files

    Is there any way to do a "contents" search in a .dmg file?
    I have several .dmg files, made with DiskUtility , encrypted, and then opened as a virtual disk, under Devices on my MacBook Air and used to store files.
    But I sometimes want to search the contents of those files. (I am doing all this when the file is open and listed under Devices)
    I can't get Spotlight to search it,  even when the following Apple's instructions on how to index folders or volumes, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409.
    I also tried using direct instructions with the terminal using,
    sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/volume_name
    This one is particularly curious because it gives different results with different files. When I created a new test file it returned,
    Air:~ DAir$ sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/test1
    Password:
    /Volumes/test1:
              Indexing enabled.
    Even so, I still could not get spotlight or search in a finder window to reliably find any content.
    (sometimes if I opened, made a small alteration and then saved a file it would find content in that file, although not in any other files on the volume.)
    but when I use this same command with an older volume of the same sort it always returns the result, "indexing disabled"
    sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/Error12Codes
    /Volumes/Error12Codes:
              Indexing disabled.
    It can never find any content in these older files.
    Likewise, the program EasyFind will not find content on these volumes even when set to find "file contents"
    Can anyone help with this? How can I search the content of a .dmg volume?

    A test .dmg file that I just made does have .spotlight -V100 in it.
    Still it will not find a word in the contents of a file, unless I first open that file, make a small change in it, save it, and close it. Then it seems that it has indexed that file.
    In fact it would seem that when that happened it indexed all the files in that .dmg volume, and I can now find the contents of any file there.
    But the .dmg files that I made earlier do not have the .spotlight-v100 in them and spotlight will not find any contents.
    And still if I give the command "sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/Error12Codes" it returns
    "Indexing disabled"
    Putting these .dmg files into the privacy section of the Spotlight preferences and then removing them as Apple suggests, seems to have no effect.
    What is going on?

  • Open Hub Destination with Flat File - Structure file is not correct

    Using the new concept for Open Hub destination (NOT an InfoSpoke).
    Output is to a Flat File. Remember that when output is to a flat file 2 files are generated: the output file and a structure file (S_<name of output file>.CSV)
    The Output file structure corresponds to the structure defined in the Open Hub destination.
    However, the S_ (structure) file does not reflect the proper structure. The S_ file lists all fields sorted in alphabetical order based on the field name, instead of listing all fields in the correct order that they appear in the output file.
    I have not found any settings that I can modify for the S_ file. When using InfoSpokes the S_ file is correct and I do not have to do anything.
    The issue is that the S_ file cannot be used to describe the output file. This is a problem.
    Anyone knows a solution to this issue? The goal is to get the S_ file to reflect the proper structure.
    I could not find any Notes on this. Please do not send general help links, this is a specific question.
    Thank you all for your support.

    Hi,
    However, the S_ (structure) file does not reflect the proper structure. The S_ file lists all fields sorted in alphabetical order based on the field name, instead of listing all fields in the correct order that they appear in the output file.
    As I know and checked this is not the case. The S_ file has the fields in the order of infospoke object sequence ( and in transformation tab, source structure).
    I would suggest you to control it again.

  • Content encoding when file uploading

    Hello,
    I'm trying to upload png file using javascript and client object model.
    When I use approach from
    MSDN article, I get transformed content. So file is not opening.
    Is it necessary to use Base64 for encoding the file?
    It works well for text files. I succeeded to upload master page so. But when I upload PNG, this encoding corrupts content.

    Hello Sohel, thank you!
    I use XMLHttpRequest for getting file content:
    xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
     xhr.onreadystatechange = onContentReadStateChange;
     xhr.open("GET", sourceFileURL, true);
     xhr.send();
    (may be I should use another approach to read, not to write? I don't want to use JQuery for this)
    then I use approach you suggest to put content to base64:
    fileContent = xhr.responseText;
    fileCreateInfo.set_content(new SP.Base64EncodedByteArray());
            for (var i = 0; i < fileContent.length; i++)
             fileCreateInfo.get_content().append(fileContent.charCodeAt(i));
    When I upload such file to library, content is writed transformed and destination file can't be viewed as picture:

  • My JSP file does not reflec the change of a Bean

    My test environment: Win 2000, JDK 1.3.1, OC4J(standalone)
    My problem:
    In servlet, the change of a Strng value is reflected at the next refresh of a browser.
    But, when a jsp file call a bean's getXXX(return a String value) method, and if the String value of that bean is changed, the next refresh or visit to that jsp file does not reflect the change of that bean.
    For example:
    1) TestClass.java
    public class TestClass {
    private String txt;
    public class TestClass {
    txt = "Test"; ----- (g
    public String getTxt() {
    return txt;
    2) test.jsp
    <html><body>
    <h2>
    <% TestClass test = new TestClass(); --(h
    out.print(test.getTxt()); %> --(i
    </h2>
    </body></html>
    In my first vistit to "http://localhost:8888/test.jsp" the brower shows "Test" String, but after I change the txt value to "Test1"((g) the brower does not reflect the change.
    I found that if I use <jsp:useBean id="test" class="TestClass" /> instead of (h-(i line, the brower reflects the change of the bean.
    Why does this occur?
    Thaks in advance.
    PS) In some cases(Not above example), I get the java.lang.ClassCastException.
    So Each time I change a Servlet or a Bean, I restart OC4J.
    null

    SangKyu,
    <jsp:useBean > has a property called scope, which defaults to "page".
    So the bean gets reset everytime you reload the page.
    Can I suggest that you set it to "session"?

  • How to save the contents of a file(not a text file)

    Hi all, I want to save the contents of a file(,png file, not a text file) as a field in a class. Shall I have it as a string or byte array or something?
    I have tried saving a file in a string but there were some problems with loading the file from a different platform. Following is my code.
            String string;
            try {
                StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(1024);
                char[] characterArray = new char[1024];
                BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file));

                string= sb.toString();

                ex.printStackTrace();
            }and I use the following code to recover the string back to a stream, and save that stream back to a time later.
        ByteArrayInputStream bais = new ByteArrayInputStream(map.getBytes());I realized that because this file is not a text file, the string could cause some problems. But anyone could tell me if I should use a byte array or someting? and how?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Jing

    You should use a byte array, and the binary streams (InputStream a& OutputStream). Never use Strings and Reader/Writer if you have binary data.
