Content of Ini-File with config-data sometimes deleted?
Hello,
i have a simple vi attached where i read config-data from a file.
Sometimes it happens that the content is lost. I am not sure why, but perhaps there a errors in the vi.
I wonder about the last vi "Close Config Data" there is an onput-parameter "write configuration file? (T)".
Why is this parameter set to default-TRUE? Could it be that i shouzld set it to False? Perhaps this
close-vi overwrite my data with nothing.
The vi reads the section [Par1] from this file:
[Par1]
PathFile=C:\\profile.txt
[Par2]
PathFile=C:\\variants.txt
and returns --> C:\\profile.txt

The values set by using the INI file functions only exist in memory and are NOT written to disk until the "Close" VI with the constant set TRUE.
If your code executes in multiple threads where one thread sets the values but another thread closes the file without the constant set true, the values will be removed from memory and will not be written to disk.
So make sure you only execute the "Close" after all values have been set and make sure the constant is set true when the files are closed.

Thanks.You should be able to. Open the .ini file, read the key (if it exitst) delete it and write a new key (you might be able to directly overwrite the key but I havent tried this). Close the file with the write file? set to true and you should have modified the .ini file with the config vis.

I saw your URL links, But in your link give the recursive deployment using wlst. But my question is how to configure the oracle weblogic library files into Admin server & Managed Servers by using the wls.jar file through wlst script to create the new domain.
But if create the new domain by using GUI mode then we manually give the admin server port number & managed servers port number and name.
By default the library files are configured with the Admin server in GUI mode. But the Managed server the Library files are not configured with the Managed servers. Then we manually select all the library files to the corresponding managed servers. Then only the applications are deployed into the corresponding managed server.

Dupekill - delete files with duped data (2012-06-13 update)
A few years ago, a friend and I had gotten a hold of a game's audio ripped directly from the disc. It included thousands of files that made up the game's sound, and many of the files sounded the exact same. We set out to pare this massive set of files down to something more manageable, with Python on our side. Thus, dupekill was born. When we first made it, it didn't recurse and was basically hacked together. I spent all of last night and most of this morning tweaking it for Python 3 and tried to turn it into a flexible console app/module.
dupekill will (by default) search the current directory for files with duplicated data and get rid of them. It accepts -h (help), -r (recursive), and -v (verbose) flags, which are obvious, and a path.
In addition, I added a "dry run" (-d) flag, so you know what will happen before you commit to getting rid of dupes. Without further delay, here it is:

User time ignores IO, but I ran all on cold caches to be safe.
Some suggestions for optimizations: first stat the files and get the total size. If the sizes match, then read and compare the first 512 bytes. If those match, then md5 the files. If those match, then sha512. (While head looks like a fast operation, comparing the 512 bytes is not, so it goes after the size.)

If I understand correctly, the idea is to only use up resources when needed, correct? If two files are of a different size, then obviously their contents will differ, for instance. I tested dupekill on my music collection and it surely took a little while. I imagine checking simpler things would improve the speed of the system. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do to introduce something like that in the next version.

How do I create an interactive PDF file with variable data
We would like to basically do a 'mail merge' of our list of customers with an interactive PDF file (including videos, menus, etc - not just form fill out and web links) to create a single PDF file that contains multiple mail pieces ... one for each customer ... with each mail piece being customized for that customer. Customizations would include different greetings (Dear Bob, Dear Dana, etc), as well as different charts based on data unique to the customer, different photographs, etc.
I've seen that InDesign and Acrobat Professional can be used to create an interactive PDF (such as from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/ask-the-adobe-ones/14-calling-rufus-about-interactive-pdf-making). However I don't understand how I can insert data from a database, csv file, excel file etc into the PDF file so that each page, or each set of pages, within the PDF can be customized.
Can anyone point me to a tool to use for this?

The issues i'm facing are:
When it is reading a row from MS-Excel it is writing to the .pdf file from last cell to first cell.( 2 cell in 1 place, 1 cell in 2 place like if the row has two cells with data as : Name of the Intern: Kesavulu Reddy then it is writing to the .pdf file as Kesavulu Reddy Name of Intern)
and the second issue is:
It is not recognizing the date format..it is recognizing the date in first row only......
Plz Tell me wht is the solution for this...

Read ini file with multiple threads
I have a state machine architecture, but I have multiple threads. For instance, one is dealing with listening for mulitple tcp connections and storing their refnums to an array in a functional global. Another thread is accessing these refnums and collecting data it's receiving from each tcp connection. This data is queued up and then dequeued in a third thread which does some modification and sends it out via serial. My question is, when you have a situation like this and have to read an ini file, where should you read it? It seems like the most logical place would be outside your loops so you can get all the tcp and serial info (port, baud rate, etc) then wire it it to your create listener or initialize serial connection despite them being in different threads. But then again, normal state machine architecture would want an "initialize" case. If you did this though which loop would you put the init case in? And you would then have to worry about synchronizing loops becuase you wouldn't want one to try and create a listener while another thread was still reading ini data which would include the port to listen on. Maybe I'm overthinking this haha. Suggestions? Edit: one more question. Does it seem overkill that I have a tcp loop listening for data and queuing it up and a separate loop sending out the processed data via serial? Or should I just have one state that gets tcp data stores it in a shift register, then another state that sends it out via serial, and returns the state machine to the tcp read state?

CLA, LabVIEW Versions 2010-2013Most of the applications I work on at the moment are used for testing barcode and label printers. The test applications I design are focused on testing the printer's firmware, not the hardware. Within our applications we have three primary objects (Unfortunately they are not native LabVIEW objects yet. They were developed before native LVOOP.) The primary objects we use in our applications are a log object, a connection object (communication interface to the printer) and a printer object. In any single instance of a test we only have a single printer, a single connection to the printer and one or more discrete logs. Each instance of these objects represent a single, real physical entity. A singleton object is a virtual representation of the physical world. Let's take the log object since that is the most simple of the objects described above. Naturally for a given log file you have the log file name and path. We also provide other attributes such as the maximum size of a single file (we allow log files to span multiple files), whether it is a comma delimited file or if it contains raw data, if timestamps should be included with a log entry and so forth. Most of these attributes are static for a log file with the exception of the name and such things as whether the logging is actually enabled or disabled. If we split a wire and had multiple instances of the log file (the way native LVOOP actually works) the attribute for whether logging is currently enabled or disabled will only pertain to the specific instance, or specific wire for the that object. Since this truly represents a single item, one log file, we need that attribute to be shared for all references to the instance of the log object. Since we allow this we can set an attribute on the log object in any task and it will be reflected in any other task that is using it. Think of the way a action engine or functional global works. However, in this case we provide discrete methods for the various actions.

How to generate SWF file with dynamic data but no live connection
Hello,
We got a requirement where we have to email out SWF file either in PPT or outlook generated from BOBJ universe. When the file reaches the customer who would be outside our network with no access to our servers or data should be able to view the swf file with data. So the goal is to generate these files automatically and should not prompt for BOBJ login or wouldn't have ability to query the database but need to report data pertaining to the customer.
Any help in this regards is greatly appreciated.

You can use QAAWS(query as a web services) and build your queries on universe.
You get an option of hardcoding the user id and password in the data connection for QAAWS which will not asks the users for login credentials.
This will hepl the user to veiw the latest data from the database and the user wont be asked for login too.

Generating XML File with Table data...

Bear with me, with my Oracle XML knowledge,,,
we have Oracle 8i ( Relaease 3) as our database, and managegement want to have XML type of Text file, with respect to data in the Customer Table. Expected XML tags would be the Column Names of the Table.
Table has three columns,, Name, Address, Telephone.
So desired XML file looks like below:

You can check out the DBMS_XMLQUERY package for this purpose. It provides XMLType functionality in Oracle 8i. You can access the documentation for the same at:

If you happen to have access to Oracle 9i, then you can use XMLType Views provided with XML DB for your requirement.

How to get 'exit event' script to execute again when form file with saved data is re-opened?
I have created an Adobe Dynamic XML Form using LiveCycle Designer with many fields / subforms that are ‘visible’ or ‘hidden’ dependent upon the options selected from various Drop-Down Lists. The form has also been save-enabled. Users can successfully complete the form and save a copy with the data that has been input.
The problem I have is that when the saved file is re-opened the ‘hidden’ fields / subforms which were previously made visible by selection of the appropriate options from the Drop-down Lists are now NOT displayed. However if you make the same selections from each of the Drop-down Lists AGAIN the hidden fields / subforms are displayed and do contain the data that was entered.
The problem appears to be that the script which determines whether a field / subform is ‘hidden’ or ‘visible’ is an
<event activity="exit" name="event__exit">
which is followed by
if (this.rawValue == "0")- (i.e. the value of the Drop-down List)
sfCompanyDetails.presence = "visible";
sfRecruitmentAgency.presence = "hidden";
etc, etc
and, therefore, it is not executed again when the saved file is re-opened.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.

Using ini-files with write-key/read-key (double) and defined accurarcy
Hello,
in a popup the user can insert a numeric-double-value.
This value is saved in a ini-file using the Write-key-vi with Type = double. Works fine.
What do i have to do to set the values after the comma?
So if user inserts 1,532 i want to round to two digits after comma and save it. (-> 1,53)

Go to Solution.I don't know how LV deals with different decimal seperators (e.g. comma instead of point), I guess it 'just works' depending on the system locale.
A few different options are available as follows...
The Write Key function has a 'precision' input which will set the number of decimal places to save the DBL to (in your case, set this to 2):
If you are using a numeric field, you can set the 'increment' property with 'coerce to nearest' to prevent them from entering more precision than is available:
The obvious method for post-rounding the input is to scale up the number, round to the nearest integer and then divide again to limit the precision:
I couldn't see anything in the numeric/math palettes that does this.
