Content Previews

Hey,
I like that I can change the views to thumbnails and enlarge and shrink at will... And even put it into a list mode... But I am not liking the fact that it seems to affect every folder universally. Is there a way to make specific folders stay locked in one mode and others in a certain preview mode- much like the general windows OS? Some folders are simply folders in folders that link to folders with images. I would like the folders with folders to stay in list mode while the folders with images remain at whatever preview size I feel fits at the time.
Is this possible? ... Or can it be in the future? Just another button that locks the preview mode in that specific folder would work nicely.

Region content preview ?

Yes, i'm busy for a new poster, but i just wanted to ask if this was possible.
Ive been using Logic for many years but never been able to find out how to change the region contents preview from notation to piano roll, so that my midi regions show a piano roll style preview instead of the regular musical notation, when in the arrange window.
Ive been told on here that this is possible, but i'm pretty sure it's not.
Please help.

I see... Well, there is no option that controls the behavior of what's displayed. The behavior is to show notes when the zoom level is sufficient to display that. If you're zoomed out far enough you see nothing.
Would be a nice option to have tho.

I am developing corporate site using weblogic portal 10.2 and MySql5.0
This site requires most of the content management opreations.
Custom Workflow is associated with content.
Assume a content is created by the creator , it should be aproved by manager.
How a manager can preview the content/page, before aproval.
Means , how "Content Preview" can be achieved using admin portal.

Not knowing the extent in what the new workflow does, the quick and dirty way would be to add an attribute to your content that was called approved(or a status)... and change all your prod content selectors, code , etc to make sure that flag is set to approved=yes before it shows it on the production site... On the flip side you would have to create code that would show the content in process(approved=no)... There might be a better/easier way with the new workflow that WLP offers but again this would be a quick and dirty way if not...

Problem Adobe ID in Digital Content Preview Tool for *.issue from InDesign

Hi,
I hope it is the right place for this post.
So, I create a *.issue file with InDesign and the new Digital Publishing.
Then I installed the Digital Content Preview Tool on the iPad and I have tryed login with Adobe ID to test the *.issue file.
But login inside the iPad app has been failing by all the day...
(ps: login from web browser goes well).
Someone can help me?

Content preview question

Hi,
We are using Content Management in Portal 9.2.1. We have written our code for content creation, workflow approval, deletion of content using CMS API and controls.
Our process is
1. Content creator logs in and creates content (workflow status = Ready)
2. Content approver logs in and previews the content and publishes (workflow status from Ready to Published)
3. Content selectors displays the published content
We have problem at step 2, when the approver logs in and tries to preview the content, we got the following error message.

Can we use the cm:getNode to preview the content or do we have to write CMS API code to get content?. Both are same?.
Can we preview a un published draft status content?. We assumed it will be possible as from administration console, we can able to do this.

Content previews disappearing

I'm using CS4, windows XP.
As I began to use Bridge, my files in the Content window were shown as icons, so I could see the content of the file. Now, in the past week or so, as I save the files after changing them, I am only getting the InDesign logo instead of the small preview of the file. I did not change anything in my preferences, although I think there may have been some kind of Adboe update perhaps (?) as I also now have changes to the interaction with my printer (work-around found here).
Has anyone else had this happen and have you found a way to fix it?
Not a big deal, but it is a bit annoying.

I would lpurge the cache in the problem folder (tools/cache) and see if that works. May have a contaminated thumb.

If you mean the thumbnails at the bottom of your TOC pages.... they do not show in iBA
Preview in iBooks on your Mac and using the top menu...select "thumbnails" and your content pages show.
Its all normal, don't worry.

Interaction on Windows 8//content preview

Hi,
we would like to create an applikation that runs on Windows 8, on a Sony Vaio tap 20.
For this we already prototyped in Indesign, including panorama, buttons, links, pan and tilt and in generally all interactive elements.
Is there a way to export for Windows 8? either as an App (Adobe announced in July) or in worth case as a swf or html5 (but will these be able to include all interactive elements), or even pdf?
second: how can I preview my applikation on mac? the adobe content viewer did not interacted well. For example the pan and tillt did not work.

There is a beta version of the Adobe Content Viewer available in the Windows
Store but it is Windows 8.1 only and is clearly a beta viewer. Many overlay
features are not yet supported.
If indeed this is a DPS issue please post follow up inquires in the DPS

Adding Description or Content Preview to Search Result Web Part

Hello,
I am on Sharepoint Online 2013 working on an enterprise wiki site. I've added a search result web part and configured a query to return the results I want. The
Results Control Display Template is set to Default and the
Result type for item is set to Sharepoint Wiki.
Is there a way to
1) Customize the item display template to add in a description value, or show the first 'x' number of characters from the content?
2) Customize the hover display to show only the body content (instead of complete page), or increase the zoom level where the content area is shown larger?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Content Preview in Form Builder

Hi all,
I have duplicated the standard SAP XML form SAP_Announcements from the Form Builder. The standard xml form displays only the title and creator of the item in the RenderListItem tab. I am trying to modify it such that it displays the first 3 lines of the content as well. I managed to display the content but not able to limit the display to the first 3 lines. Is there anyway of doing this in Form Builder other than modifying the xsl file?

Bob's right. You don't specify the toc.png files in the sidecar.xml file. If you add them to the article folders, they're used automatically. Example:

Is there a limit to the number of content selectors?

<p>I am using content selectors to pull metadata from Documentum, and I am currently experiencing 2 problems --
<p>Problem 1) I can't seem to create subdirectories under \META-INF\data\contentselectors\GlobalContentSelectors\. If I do so, and create some content selectors under a subdirectory, it will not work. I would like to organize my content selectors into subfolders under the GlobalContentSelectors directory.
<p>Problem 2) I have created about 22 content selectors under GlobalContentSelectors directory, and I can preview the results queried for each .sel file, under the "Content Preview" tab, either in WL Workshop or in the Portal Admin page. I.e., there are results returned for every content selector created. However, when I generate a portlet from the .sel file, and invoke the content selector in a .jsp file, the content selector returns 0 results. I've created a content query in the same jsp file with the exact same query as in the content selector, and that works fine in the jsp. Next, I tried deleting 21 of the content selectors, leaving the one content selector I was working with, restarted the server, and reloaded the jsp file, and this time it works. Then, I put back all 21 of the content selectors, and restarted the server, and it stopped working again. This is very bewildering. I see a stack trace in the logs, but I'm not sure if it is related (See below).

I don't think it's an issue of file length, however, as a test you could revert to your previously working file and place all the new CSS in a new file, and see whether that makes any difference.
If you clear the error console and reload the page, do you get any unexpected style warnings? By unexpected, I mean things other than, for example, -webkit-transform is not recognized and is being dropped. Illogical messages can indicate an unnoticed typo.

Preview column in Mail using OS X Lion, "extra" portions of email text showing when the actual message does not have the extra text showing?

I Don't know a way to post an example, but here's the issue; In the preview column window, where you can see a portion of the conversation, I have what looks like extra messages showing up. In the view column, this extra text is not there! These messages are usually private in nature(haven't seen anything too bad - yet) and have nothing to do with the actual email. Any ideas?

To add more; I first noticed this 2 days ago and reported it to Apple. When I did notice it, I went to preferences and changed how many lines of the content preview shows, then I closed the message view column and expanded the preview column as wide as I could get it. On one of the messages, it kept continuing after it ran out of space in the preview, for a running total of at least 100 words. Even then, in the actual message viewer, it only showed 1 complete message of about 25 words.

Icon Previews

I've been working on a series of icons to complete my folio and I'm getting very poor results.
In Folio Builder, there are two places to place icon artwork - in Cover Preview in the Folio Properties and in the Table of Contents Preview in Article Properties. The Cover Previews are separate for portrait and landscape whereas the TOC Preview is square.
The Cover Previews seem to be 54 x 78 (or 78 x 54) and the TOC Preview is 68 x 68. I guess it just rotates.
I started by making a jpeg of the entire spread at 300 dpi and selecting it. The result was very soft and pixelated and I assumed it had just scaled badly. I tried saving it at 72 dpi but that was the same. So then I made custom icons at 100% size in Photoshop and saved them as TIFF, GIF and JPEG. The TIFF and GIF are un-selectable - so I guess they are not compatible.
But even these purpose made icons appears soft and pixelated.
Has anyone got sharp clear icons in their folios? Where have I gone wrong and what sizes did you use?

From what i remember auto-generated TOC thumbnails are at 70X70px and cover previews are rendered at a full 768x1024px or 1024X768px, and i would assume these numbers would hold for the "manually" created thumbnails as well.
I verified this from a folio produced with Drop 11 Pre-release tools and im not sure if the numbers changed in the final release ( i would assume they didn't).
Both these thumbnails are in PNG format @ 72dpi
