Content status

I have a content rule on a CSS 11501 running version 07.40.1.03 that has two services assigned to it. If both of these services are down the content rule still shows as alive on the css. What I would like the ability to do is to either use snmp to monitor a content rule for being down or be able to create an rmon event to generate a trap as I have not been able to find a useful OID for a content rule status.
So a twofold question.
First off, should the content rule show as down (or dead) when all of the service's that are attached to it are down? If so what might I be missing?
Secondly (if there is a method to show the rule as being down, is there an OID that will show a status change for a content rule?
Copy of one of my two services, the other being the same except for on a different address.

  • Content Status Stuck "In Progress"

I had this error before, and installing the hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2828900/en-us fixed the issue. However, last week the issue returned. At the time, nothing
had changed. I have since installed CU4, then CU5. These servers are updated monthly, but had not yet updated when this began.
When viewing the Content Status, the Status is “Waiting for Content.” However, in the Asset Message Summary, the description is “Distribution Manager successfully processed package…”
OSD task sequences are now not able to complete due to the Configuration Manager Client Package being in the same state (due to the CU5 client update).
Deployments such as Programs and Updates are completing successfully.
Interestingly, I was able to distribute NEW content (SP1 CU5 - x64 client update) to a Distribution Point Group (which includes 4 of 13 DP’s). So maybe this issues only applies
    to REDISTRIBUTING content.
PkgXferMgr.log does not show anything unusual
Distmgr.log shows a recurring attempt to update a package which was removed and subsequently redistributed for testing purposes, but other entries appear to process normally.

I have Googled the following and read most results on the first two pages:
In progress - Waiting for Content
Package (priority 1) is already in queue
Package is found in active queue, will try it later

The content status of a package is stuck in "In progress - Waiting for Content" status in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1
Maybe someone has some fancy PowerShell or SQL commands I can run. (My SQL skills are limited).

Thanks Torsten. I've read many of your successful replies over the years, and now you're answering one of my questions! Actually, the first question since I've usually found the answer.
Yes, I have redistributed the packages that are giving the inaccurate status messages.
To get a current log, I redistributed the configmgr client (KS100002). The description now reads "Distribution Manager created snapshot for content Configuration Manager Client Package successfully." However, the Content Status is still "Waiting for
    Content - In Progress."

  • Compliance on content status not correctly updated on CAS

We have a new SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 environment with a CAS and multiple primary sites.
We noticed that the compliance percentage
for some applications are not correctly (50%) updated on the CAS for a site with a primary site server with a DP role and a site system with a DP role. It is shown correctly (100%) on the primary site server.
On the CAS you can see the message "detail will be available when server finishes processing the messages" on the content status asset details for some applications.
We have verified that these applications are distributed. The compliance percentage is corrected if we go to an application on the CAS and redistribute it. It only takes a second to finish. So it looks like a bug on the CAS.
Since we are doing our proactive checks on the CAS, it is important for us that the information is shown correctly. We have rebooted the CAS with no result. Also we have all updates installed. We have not found a solution for this yet.
Is there anyone else with this issue? What can we do to troubleshoot or fix this issue?

  • Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 CU4 Console - Content Status very slow

    I have a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 environment running.
When using the console and viewing the Monitoring / Distribution Status / Content Status it took about 10-15 minutes to get the information.
How can this be speed up a bit ? By adding additional indexes in SQL ?
Any tips, hints are very welcome.

    Hi,
Have you seen this previuous thread on the topic?

I would run the script from Ola that reports back on the indexe defragementeation and what I normally see as well is that more than one TempDB file increases performance greatly. It is most likely covered in the session mentioned above by Tim.

  • Clearing Table of Content status flags on file launch??

I have a trainin course with the Table of Contents feature (Captivate 4), which displays what screens the user has viewed by displaying green status flags. Our customer may have a workstation set up as a “training station”. It appears as though the status flags in the TOC is cumulative. In other words, of one student comes in, completes the training, and then another student comes in behind him to use the training, all the status flags from the previous training session are still visible. So, my question is…Is there any way to control the status flags without each user having to manually clear them using the clear button? Possibly with a variable of some sort? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi there
Have you tried clicking Project > Table of Contents > Settings... and ensuring the Status Flag option is cleared?

  • Captivate - Table of Content - Status

    Hi there,
I have a Captivate course with a table of contents, I have a
transparent button on each page (to stop at the end of a slide) so
that the user has to use the navigation bar at the bottom to move
between pages. This is fine however I would like the status in the
table of contents to fill in when the user moves to the next
    screen.
This does not happen unless you click the transparent button
to move to the next screen. Anyone know a way around this? Many
    thanks

Suggestion is to rather let the user use the transparent
button at the end of each slide as the nav bar reads the slide
incompletely viewed if you use it to force a jump to the next
slide. Set button as text, not transparent with e.g. "Continue" as
the text. Infinite attempts allowed and set to "Continue" on
success. This allows the slide to finish playing and your "status"
    will now complete.
    Cheers
    Andrew

  • Package and Content status on a DP via SDK?

    Hi,
I am trying to get information using the SCCM SDK to work out
    what out the following:
    1. The Package Version and last time copied to a DP.
    2. If the package in is process how I can get the percentage that has copied
plus evualte the in progress % and in error.
So something like the details you see below the "Suceess" "In Progress" and
       "Error"
So any of these details and things like the %complete.
So is there some starting point for WMI classes I can use to get this type of
    information.

  • Include the Content Released status flag in default WC data control

    Hi,
We have integrated custom webcenter portal application with UCM for documents integration. The integration was done using default data control. When we change the document which is getting displayed in the portal from UCM and check it into the system, wokflow gets triggered properly and the content status shows review status. But when we access the document in the portal, at that point of time new document is visible even though the content is still not released from the system.
Can anyone of you let me know how to include the released status of the content in the default data control so that we can avoid this situation
    Regards,
    Boopathy

First of all, I think this is more a question to WebCenter Portal, because it is how WebCenter Portal components are written.
Another thing is, that this is probably 'works as designed' and there might be good reasons for that. Since PS3, WebCenter (Portal) exposes some of UCM's functionality, among them ability to approve items in a workflow. This is the reason why it makes a good sense that items are available. Of course, they should be available only to approvers; also unapproved items should not appear if an item is displayed via Content Presenter (compare to a document published on a website via WCM). If you found such a behaviour, please, report it to MetaLink as it might be a bug.

  • How do I show the Status file property of a Word document in the SharePoint library?

When I created some Word documents (using Word 2010) I filled in the Status property before saving them on my PC's local hard drive. Not having tried that before, I verified I'd done it by selecting the file in Windows 7 File Explorer and looking at
the file properties pane along the bottom of window. Lo and behold, there's a line in there called Content Status with a value identical to what I typed in within Word.
So far so good. But how do I get the SharePoint library to show the value of that field for each document? I tried Modify This View (go to the library, click ... , Click Modify This View) then looking at the list of columns I can enable / disable using the
Display tick boxes. But neither Status or Content Status are listed among the 21 Column Names and there doesn't seem to be a control to add custom ones.
Have I missed out some stage? What am I doing wrong?
Please keep in mind that I'm a SharePoint novice.
    Regards,
    Bruce Officer

    Hi ,
Do you want to change the default paper size in Word 2010? If so, this is how I do it.
    1. In Word 2010, go to Page layout tab.
    2. Click Size in the Page Setup group then click More Paper Sizes.
    3. In the Paper tab, input the paper size that you want, then click Set as default.
If there is anything that I can do for you regarding this issue, feel free to post back.

  • Endpoint Protection error: The source folder for content does not exist.

    I have a single SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 server running on Windows Server 2012.
I have been using this for a little more than a month for Endpoint Protection and Windows Updates.
I just recently started seeing that my Endpoint Deployment Package has Failed.  I click on "Content Status" and select the Endpoint package (which again shows Failed).  I click on "View Status" and I get this
    message in the "Error" tab:
The source folder for content does not exist.
The Asset Details point to the exact location  that does not exist:
The source directory "\\<server>\updates\endpoint\6bd81fde-3a3f-4aa9-bf70-ba007891ca68" for package "<package>" does not exist.
I didn't change anything related to this, and that directory path (\\server\updates\endpoint) is
shared and is populated with a lot of other folders.
Is this possibly just a bad update file?  Should I manually create that sub-folder that it says is missing?
Any help would be great!  Thanks!

  • SCCM 2012 says content distributed, but the folders are missing in my DP

    SCCM 2012 SP1 Update 4
I've been adding updates and creating new applications and all looked ok.  I distributed them to my 7 distribution points, and the stats shows the content was distributed.  However, if I look on the DP hard drive for the folders, they are not there.
Deployments are failing saying they cant find files.
Any thoughts? I cant find anything through Google (sorry Bing ;) )..
    Thanks!!!
    Joel

CM 2012 content library is different fr0m SMSPKGE$ folder. Check for SCCMContentLib folder. Also check the status of content distribution from CM12 console - Monitoring - Content Status Node

  • Database replicaton link status shows unknown

I have an issue with our newly built ConfigMgr 12 R2 hierarchy. We are running SQL12 Sp1 CU6 on our Primary. Our Secondary sites are running express with the same SP and CU level.
I am in the process of migrating objects from our existing CM07. Migration seems to be working fine between source and destination. When I try to distribute software, I see it as successful to the primary, but the remote distro points were stuck at "In
Progress" for hours. I assumed that I had an issue with the distribution, but I see all the files are being downloaded to the correct folders on the distro points.
I checked database replication status and all sites showed as Link state=unknown.
After rebooting the primary site server, checked the database replication status and it shows green. Checked the content status and the distro points are showing updated.
After about 30 minutes, the database replication goes back to unknown. I can only get updated status after a reboot.
Hopefully someone has seen this and has a resolution.
    Mike

    Hi,
The Replication Anlyzer is very important to this issue. You need to run it and see what it tells and post the log and xml file here if possible.
Also, take a look at a valuable blog.
