Content translation depending on the location
Hi
I have got a requirement.When a user enters into the portal through internet, i want to change the entire content of the portal depending upon the location. And also the Portal Admin Should get the location of the entered user
i.e; when a user enters from germany, the entire content of the portal should be displayed to him in German(without the user clicking any link).Here in this case the Portal Admin should get the location of the user as Germany.
It would be very helpful to me, if anyone can throw some light on this
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Rajeev.
Hi
As far as I am aware you can only do this through the locale, as opposed to the physical location, as this isn't part of the Http request. If you use the locale then you can use the standard portal translation functionality. By doing this you can change all of the PCD Objects so that they are translated to the relevant language. Also, when creating the content you could use the Java resource bundles, as you would then create a resource bundle for each language you would like to have displayed.
I hope this helps a little

Hi All,
I have a PDK iview.I created a Worklist for translating the name of the iView and the text strings in the resource bundle.I changed the text in the resource bundle to German.Finally I Published the Worklist.
I also placed a small peice of code in my JSP using Java API for ResourceBundle and a print statement for printing the text from the resource bundle file in my project.This particual text i have already translated to German in the Worklist translation as explained above.
I then changed my browser language to German and refreshed the browser.I could see the the iView name which I had translated in German language but the text from the resource bundle still appears in English and not in German.
Could you please help me getting this text printed in my Browser language.
I urgently need help on this.
Warm Regards
SaurabhHI Lukas,
Thanks for the reply.
I checked with another User ID where his Locale was set to english.I changed the browser language to German but everything still displayed in English.
Then I set the language for the User ID to blank.This time the text changed to German.
This means that in the Language hierarchy Component Locale is not set,Portal Mandatory Locale is not set and ofcourse the User Locale was already set to blank.So the Browser language setting took effect.
I then executed my iView.The iView name was displayed in German but the text string "Welcome" in my properties file (resource bundle)which i had translated to "Welcome German" using the Portal Content Translation still displayed as "Welcome".
I used the normal JAVA code for getting the resource bundle and the called it getString () method to display the Welcome string from my resource bundle.I have just one resource bundle in my par file.
I am not sure where it is going wrong.Is it the code which i have written is wrong ?
Wht should be the correct code?
Am i suppose to make some other configuration as well.
I have only one resource bundle in my par file.I suppose the Content Translation application in the portal would create another resource bundle for the languge in which i translated my text.
Is this the correct assumption or will i have to create additional resource bundles in my par file.
Warm Regards

I have put a lot of work into a docx document on my Mac, but now can't open it as it gives the error message: 'the Open XML file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Details, Unspecific
error, Location: 2'
When opening the original file the message said: 'this file contains word 2007 for Windows equations' etc. but I managed to track changes fine, and saved, closed and re-opened it numerous times without problem. Some graphs seemed moved, and various formulas
were illegible, but no other weirdness was observed.
I have microsoft 2008 installed on my Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
I've tried to fix it using various solutions suggested here, but am afraid am too IT illiterate to have had any luck, please help I'm new to all this!
I've uploaded it to https://www.dropbox.com/s/hkw9k6lyihzoxpc/SittwayPauktawSQUEACREPORT_KD%2BCH.docxHi,
This issue is related strictly to oMath tags and occurs when a graphical object or text box is anchored to the same paragraph that contains the equation.
Please use the "Fix it" tool in the following KB article to resolve the problem. See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528942
Hope this helps.

We have a business scenario where the receipt days for a location depends on the relationship between the Start-Destination Location. We need to include this constraint in an optimizer run with daily buckets.
Example:
Factory A (Start Location) ships to DC X (destination location) only on Mondays, with a lead time of 2 days. DC X should receive the stock from Factory A on Wednesday
Factory B (Start Location) ships to DC X (destination location) only on Thursdays, with a lead time of 1 day. DC X should receive the stock from Factory B on Saturday
Does anyone has been able to model this scenario?
I tried using transportation calendars(time stream) in the means of transport, having undesired results:
a) Transportation Lane A-X. Calendar 1A, only Monday is available
The system creates stock transfers on Monday on Week 1 and ends on Monday of Week 3.
b) Transportation Lane A-X. Calendar 2A, Monday and Wednesday are available
The system creates stock transfers on Monday and Wednesday on Week 1:
The stock transfer that starts on Monday-Week 1 ends on Monday-Week 2.
The stock transfer that starts on Wednesday-Week 1 ends on Wednesday-Week 2.
c) Transportation Lane A-X. Calendar 3A, Monday Tuesday and Wednesday are available
The system creates stock transfers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on Week 1.
The stock transfer that starts on Monday-Week 1 ends on Wednesday-Week 1. (this is actually what I need)
The stock transfer that starts on Tuesday-Week 1 ends on Monday-Week 2.
The stock transfer that starts on Wednesday-Week 1 ends on Tuesday-Week 2.
Regardsyou really don't need to post all that code, few people will read it, or try to compile/run it.
just a tree in a scrollpane in a frame is all you need, then add the method/problem to the basic,
and post that so its only 20 to 30 lines long.
here's your basic tree/scrollpane/frame, with an expandAll()
import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
class Testing
public void buildGUI()
JTree tree = new JTree();
expandAll(tree);
JFrame f = new JFrame();
f.getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(tree));
f.pack();
f.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
f.setVisible(true);
public void expandAll(JTree tree)
int row = 0;
while (row < tree.getRowCount())
tree.expandRow(row);
row++;
public static void main(String[] args)
SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(){
public void run(){
new Testing().buildGUI();
}so, is your problem with the expandAll(), or with reading the properties file? -
Portal Content Translation - Unable to see the changed iView name, desc etc
Hi Experts,
I am using Portal Content Translation to translate the name of iViews, roles, iview description etc from English to Spanish. I have followed the method mentioned in the below mentioned link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/74/641640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
I have successfully executed all the processes mentioned in the document. It includes:
Creating Worklists and add content
Generate translation data
Release for translation
Search worklist and define source and target language
Load worklist for translation
Translate worklist
Make worklist as translated
Publish translation
I am able to publish the publish translation.
The above document says that "Publishing a translation means that the translated text strings are written back to the objects to which they belong (for example, the translated title of a role to the role object stored in the Portal Content Directory). "
In my case I have translated the name, description of an iView. After publishing am I supposed to see the name & description of iView in Spanish in the same iView (source iView).
I have not created any target iView. Am I supposed to create any target iView?
I am unable to see iView name, description in Spanish.
Can you please let me know what is going wrong?
Thanks
StuartHi Stuart,
please set the user's language in UME. You can do this in the personalization dialog (see SAP Library section <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f8/64e93b3a612d52e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm">Setting Portal Preferences</a>. Assign the portal role "eu_core_role" to your user if you do not see the "personalize" link in the portal masthead.
In what language does the iview name appear if you do not select Spanish language?
Please check if the name of the iView appears in Spanish language in PCD after you switched portal language to Spanish.
Best regards,

What is the Location of content added to conferences within the Lync servers C Drive?
Hi
When a user adds , say a powerpoint presentation to a meeting and then leaves the meeting with the content still in the meeting, can a lync admin retrieve the attachment from within explorer on the lyncserver? IF so, where can I find it?
Thanks
NEObandHi,Neoband,
Yes,meeting content is stored in the Lync file share folder,you can retrieve them under "1-webservices-1" on Lync file share server.
If you would like to delete the meeting content periodically to release the disk space,you can run cmdlet
Set-CsConferencingConfiguration with parameter ContentGracePeriod to set how long conference content will remain on the server following the end of the conference. Details you can check

However, this feature also depends on the iPod to be connected to a working Wi-Fi network and not have already been restored by the thief.

Creation of new key figure at report level depending on the month range
Dear All,
I have a requirment where user wants to see the dollar values for the Amount key figure. Data is stored in the INR value in the cube.
Exchange rate values keep on changing depending upon the quarter. For all four quarters we have four different exchange rate.
Now system has to identify the applicable exchange rate and show a new column with the USD value just beside the INR values column.
How best we can achieve this.
Thanks & Rgds,
AnupHi
You can have currency translation at query level for achieving this.

When I open a web page link in "a new window" the link opens, but the web page information does not appear in the location bar. It is blank. If I open the link in a new tab, there is ho problem.
Further, if a open a link from the tab without a location in a new tab on the same window and then go back to the original tab, the location bar fills with the web address.
Have done this starting in several locations, so it not location dependent.That behaviour is likely top be caused by an add-on, and in your case the likely culprit is IE Tab 2, the various versions of IE Tab have caused problems with Firefox 4 beta including issues with the location bar not being updated.
You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling it and then seeing if the location bar in a new window shows the address. If it is not that add-on causing the problem, see [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
For info, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you may want to try that one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html -
How can we identify the location from which a map is run, in the map ?
Hi,
I have a map that moves data from source system into the target system.
I have two locations in the project (PROD_SOURCE and PROD_TARGET).
My map picks the source table from PROD_SOURCE location and inserts into the target table in PROD_TARGET location.
Now, this map can be deployed by changing the source location.
In my map, I want to find out the location and subsequently the source database from which the map was run. This has to be inserted into a table
Any pointers?
-PushkalaYou can always query the data dictionary in a pre- or post- mapping procedure.
e.g.:
select dep.owner, dep.object_name
FROM PUBLIC_DEPENDENCY pd,
all_objects dep,
all_objects src
where pd.object_id = src.object_id
and pd.referenced_object_id = dep.object_id
and dep.object_Type = 'TABLE'
and src.owner = 'ERS_CTRL3X'
AND src.object_name = 'TEST_MAP'
AND src.object_type = 'PACKAGE BODY'
will give me the listed owner of all tables referenced in this mapping. Knowing the table name, I would have access to the owner name. Now, whether you also will need to query agains all_db_links to see where a given db link is pointing to resolve the owner etc, or all_synonyms to resolve local synonyms to the db_link that they operate against etc I do not know. But tracing the dependancy tree from the current runtime copy of the package will get you to what you need. -
How do i find the location of Oracle password file in the HDD
we giv the location of the password file while we use the orapwd command to create one.
later if we forget the location of the password file (incase it is not at the default location) then is there a way to find it or do we just create a new password file?
secondly, for oracle to use the password file we giv the remote_login_passwordfile='EXCLUSIVE' in the parameter file. wat tells oracle the location of the exact password file??
Thanks
Arvind
Edited by: iinfi on Sep 29, 2008 12:15 AMThe default location are OS dependant.
On Unix/Linus it is under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
On Windows, it is under %ORACLE_HOME%/database
To change the default location, nothing inside database, but :
On Unix/Linux, you have to create a symbolic link for that file to the target location
On Windows, you have to change env variable (regedit) ORA_PWFILE and ORA_SID_PWFILE
So, you have to check this setting for the real password file location.

DOS 11g SOA have the Locator API's - How to Invoke a BPEL process from Java
In BPEL 10.1.3.1, a java client could use the "Locator" API's to look up a BPEL service and invoke it directly from Java,
Is that still present in SOA 11g ? Or is there another way to look up the BPEL process ...
Here's an example of the 10g BPEL Service locator facilities :
Get the BPEL service locator. This is retrieved as follows:
loc = new Locator(domain, domainPassword);
The initial installation BPEL domain is "domain" and the initial password is "bpel". We then use the locator to get the delivery service. We could also use the locator to retrieve the workflow service.
IDeliveryService svc = (IDeliveryService)loc.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME);
Now we have the delivery service we can "deliver" requests to the BPEL process. To do this we first need to create a new message.
NormalizedMessage msg = new NormalizedMessage();
String content = "<SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest xmlns=\"http://antony.blog/SyncHelloWorld\">"+
"<input>"+
name+
"</input>"+
"</SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest>";
msg.addPart(msgPart, content);Can you please tell me how to include adf binding.ws in composite.xml ? My composite.xml for your ref:

Eric, when I select the BPEL wsdl file in "Create Web Service Data Control" wizard, immediately I am getting the error. When I click 'OK', the 'Service' dropdown is disabled and blank in the wizard.
Thanks for pointing to the sample application URL. But it is built in jdev 10g. Can I migrate it to 11g?
Thanks both of you! -

The location of Hysham in Apple Maps is off by over 50 miles and has been ever since the advent of the app. I have gone through the motions many times to place the pin the correct location. Unfortunately, no one at Apple seems to care if Hysham, Montana is plotted in the correct location or not. The location displayed in Apple Maps is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. If someone were to rely on Apple Maps to get to Hysham may very well end up marooned in the midst of muddy two track road in the summer or stuck in a snowdrift in the winter with little or no hope of expedient assistance. Other than the reporting feature in Maps, there appears to be no other means to report mistakes and there appears to be no expedient means at Apple to filter through reports and fix the errors. In sum, What do I have to do to get the location of Hysham fixed in Apple Maps? Much thanks!
You have done all that you can. Apple maps depends on 3rd party map data solutions. As problems are reported, they are reported to the data providers. How and when they decide to make changes is up to them.
You can also let Apple know you are disappointed in this via feedback at www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link. -
I just installed a new hard drive and transfered my i-tunes library to the new drive. How can I make a bulk change of the location the program looks for the current songs. I know you can do it song by song from the "get info" tab but I need to do it for all 4500 songs. I have already changed the location that new files are stored to the new hard drive.
The pop-up lets you connect to the library file, iTunes Library.itl, on the external drive. This will, in turn, automatically update the preference for the iTunes Media folder to be the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder inside the iTunes folder on the external drive and it will update the locations of all the content inside the media folder so that it uses the version on the external drive.
This works seamlessly if all iTunes content was inside the iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder (which was itself inside the iTunes library folder) before you moved/copied the iTunes folder. For content outside the iTunes Media folder iTunes should remain connected to the original location. These files should be consolidated (before or after the move/copy) and in addition, if available the library should be upgraded to the newer layout which places iPod Games and Mobile Applications inside the media folder instead of the library folder. (File > Library > Organize Library...)
For split libraries there are methods to rejoin them before moving (preferred) or repairing after the fact (e.g. my script) which I can go into if needed.
