Content Viewer disables buttons + scrolling direction

Hello, I'm currently facing two problems trying to make an interactive magazine for the iPad that's supposed to be viewed by my teachers in Content Viewer.
1) On one page, I have a lot of thumbnails that shows a bigger version next to when the thumbnails are clicked. Every picture is a button that shows/hides other buttons. When I convert the page to an interactive PDF, they work perfectly. They don't work in Adobe Content Viewer, however, and I have no idea why. I just changed the event of the buttons to be "click" instead of "tap or release" without luck.
Any suggestions why this is happening?
2) Whenever I view the entire magazine on my iPad it looks fine but for some reason it scrolls left/right. I've forced it to be shown vertically, so it doesn't change whenever I turn the iPad, but I want it to scroll up and down, not side to side. There's already a little slideshow in the magazine that requires you to slide to right or left so it musn't be confusing.

That makes more sense. I couldn't find anything about it when I researched myself and asked a teacher who said it was possible. I've read the material from Adobe about Digital Publishing Suite but can't recall I've read that the buttons weren't supported. Is there another way to give the same effect?
Ah, okay. It's multiple articles, seeing as that's what our teachers have been telling us to do, so I'll fix that one right away.

  • Navto links not working in Content Viewer

When I view my folio in Content Viewer, the buttons I created to navigate to other articles within the folio don't work. I selected the hyperlink option and typed navto://articlename in the field, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Has anyone else had this issue using CS5?

I have recreated the button many times... with a solid fill, without a fill, on a new layer on top of everything else... It is not just that article. The Tech Data navto below it does the exact same thing.
Also, inside rt8030f, I have navto links back to navto://lbcranelit#2, indicating to go back to page 3 in the main document. Those links don't work either.
I deleted rt8030f and rt8030t from the folio builder, copied the files into the same folder as the main document, and re-added them to foliobuilder.
I know this is going to be something stupid that I'm doing, but I cannot figure it out. I've spent hours trying to debut this thing.

  • Content Viewer dissapeared

After the installation of the update for indesing the content viewer doesnt launch (i cant even find it on the computer) when I want to preview a folio.

Hi,  The direct entitlement feature is only available to accounts that have the "Enterprise" level. At this time, setting up an integrator id, which lets the fulfillment server know what your endpoints are, is not a self-service operation. If you already have your direct entitlement server working you had contacted someone in our customer enablement team to setup your integrator ID.  Please work with the same person to enable this integrator ID for the Content Viewer for Web. We plan to make this a self-service operation in the future.  Thanks Joerg

  • Desktop Content Viewer R27 hides interactivity

    Is it new or… ?
    I make an inDesign page.
There's a button controling an MSO
    Everything works fine.
    I switch back to inD.
When i come back to Content Viewer, the button has disappeared.
Workaround : to make that button reappear, i can ask to see the Table of Contents, when leaving the ToC, button will be there.

    Hi Franck,
Could you send me the InDeisgn file (a simple one that can demo the problem)?
You can mail it to me at [email protected]
I would like to take a look at this.

  • Scroll bar in Content Viewer

    Hello everyone,
I have place three different height images into a frame and applied scroll bar using Content viewer. I am calling each image through a button.
    My question is:
Can we control the scroll bar height limiation as per the image's height. Right now its taking the largest image's height as a reference, when i click and check the small height image, i see lot of white space in it.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Shiva

What do you mean you added a scroll bar? Do you mean a scrolling frame?
If so, no, you cannot adjust the size of that dynamically. That said, I still don't totally get what you're doing.
You can't click to move content in a scrolling frame, only an MSO.

  • [SOLVED] Middle-button scrolling – multiple directions

Firefox has a nice feature: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Use autoscrolling.
With the middle mouse button hold down, it is possible to scroll oversize contents of a window in any direction.
I would like to have the same functionality in any program, any window. I have learnt xinput and found this in Thinkwiki (and some other sites alike), and found these to be helpful. (I am trying to help a friend of mine with a Thinkpad, but I am experimenting with a mouse. I suppose trackpoint and mouse can be considered analogous in this regard.)
So now I have these commands in an autostart script:
    xinput set-prop $device "Evdev Wheel Emulation" 1
xinput set-prop $device "Evdev Wheel Emulation Button" 2
    xinput set-prop $device "Evdev Wheel Emulation Axes" 6 7 4 5
where $device is the name/number of the corresponding pointer device from “xinput list”.
So far, so good, it does what needed, except one thing: scrolling works in only the 4 main directions. If the pointer is moved e.g. in the NW direction, the page is scrolled either just upwards or just to the left.
Does anybody have an idea how to “enable” all the other directions, like it works in Firefox?
    Thanks in advance.

Let us know whether your tests succeeded, maybe we can extend the mouse–trackpoint analogy to stylus too…
i did mess around with this, but in the end - instead, i have reconfigured 'Easystroke' Gesture recogniton software to emulate a mouse wheel/Micorosft Windows middle-button scroll.
basically, my middle-mouse button is for gestures (when i hold it down), if i tap it and then touch/hold the stylus on the pad (first mouse button), then i can drag up or down. (maybe left and right too, but i haven't really checked). there is basically a rule you can set in easystroke called 'ignore', which allows this to ignore my gesture button unless i am holding it down.
it works for me. in the past i had tried this method, but didn't like it-  but i think that had more to do with buggy driver / xorg. it's fine now though

  • Problem with buttons in Content Viewer iPad app

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with my navigation once my app is viewed on the iPad. All pages in all of my articles are using the same master page for a menu button, and they all work when I view the app through the Content Viewer on my desktop. Once I log in to the Content Viewer on my iPad, however, the menu button on the first page of every article doesn't work. I did a test of swapping the first page with the second page in one of the articles, and the original page's menu button then worked while the second page's (now located at the beginning) wasn't being read. Other buttons on the first page work (which are also from the master page), it's just the menu button that makes my table of contents box appear. I have eleven articles in my folio and it's happening on the first page of every single one. Not too sure what's going on here, any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

I also figured out after playing around with it a bit more that this only happens when "Horizontal swipe only" is checked in the properties.

  • Navigation buttons not working in iPad Adobe Content Viewer

I am reposting this as a separate discussion from this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5551618#5551618), since Bob B. said this is a separate bug from the nav button problems in Single Edition apps that people were encountering.
    Here is my problem:
I have several folios that are a presentation of work (a slideshow per page, on most pages). Navigation buttons are needed since vertical swiping doesn't work on the pages where my images are full-width.
Five times in the past week, the buttons have quit working (tapping a button jumps you back to the first page of the folio, instead of to Next or Prev). The only way to get them working again is to delete Content Viewer and all the content off the iPad, reinstall Content Viewer, and download the folios again. So far, I can use the folio maybe once or twice, and then the problem happens again.
As you can imagine, this is very frustrating.
It would be great if someone can look into this, since it does not seem to be a freak occurrence - it happens to me all the time since I got the latest version of Content Viewer.
    Thank you,
    Camille

A tester was finally able to reproduce this bug. I'll let you know when I find more information. Thanks for reporting it.

  • Buttons Not Working in Content Viewer v21

I create two simple buttons in my document that go to the Next or Previous state of my Multi-State object On-Click. When I test it out in my desktop Content View and click the mouse, the only thing that happens is the Conten Viewer menu comes up. I've tried using the On-Mousover command and that does not work either. What am I missing?

You need to use on release. In CS6 it’s on release or tap.

  • Button Function Failure on Adobe Content Viewer

Why do the button functions work well the first time I view them on my iPad's Adobe Content Viewer but do not function properly in subsequent viewings?
For example, the next page buttons work flawlessly during the first viewing on the iPad. But from the second time they functions awkwardly. The Next page button on Page 1 stops functioning. The one on Page 2 takes me back to Page 1.

Same issue-- and it's been  a few weeks now.  As far as I can tell it is a waiting issue

Use the iPad Viewer to preview content
The Adobe Content Viewer for the iPad is a generic version of the viewer used for testing the digital content you create on the iPad. The iPad viewer is updated whenever the Folio Producer tools are updated.
Note: However, when a new set of tools is released, folios you create with those tools may not work properly until Apple approves the new viewer version. If you try to open the folio, a “Please update your app” message appears. If you have a Professional or Enterprise account, you can create a custom version of the Adobe Content Viewer. See
“Create a custom Adobe Content Viewer for iPad” on page
    98. Otherwise, hold off on updating the tools or use the Desktop Viewer until Apple approves the updated viewer.

  • How to disable "View Report" button in reporting services

Is anyone know how to disable "View Report" button in reporting services, I know can do custom code in report properties, what is the code? I have tried something like this ***button1.enable=false, but it can not success.
Appreciate if anyone can reply me, thanks.

    Hi,
The message box don't work on the web because it is of windowform box. Based on your further description, you might want to do the date parameter validation. If so, there is common way to do this:(assume the date parameter value inputed can't be less than 2007)
    1) Intert a textbox and input the message used to show the end users if they input a invalidated date value for the parameter, and then set the textbox's hidden property to =iif(Year(Parameters!myPrameter.value) < 2007,false, true)
    2) Insert a Rectangle control below the textbox created in step 1, and put all report items in it and set the Rectangle's hidden property to =IIF(Year(Parameters!myParameter.value)<2007,true,false)
After these, if the end users input the date value can meet the project requirement, the report will show the data the end users want, otherwise, the end users will see the error textbox to tell them the parameter value is incorrect.
    Hope this help,
    thanks,
    Jerry

  • Button in Content Viewer always opens the Menu of Content Viewer

I tried about everything. I searched in every Forum for my Problem.
But I couldn't find any answer, so I must be doing something completely wrong.
    • I'm using the latest Adobe CS 5.5 to build a folio.
    • I'm creating buttons, which work with the indesign preview (in the right hand Menu)
    • But everytime I try them on my iPad with the Adobe Content Viewer App they don't work:
By tapping on the Button, the Menu of the Content Viewer App opens and not the preset action (Go to State...)
    Please help me, I'm desperate!
    Thx

    My First Try:
I have got two States, and the Button (the oval in the middle) should switch to the second State
    My second try:
Here: by tapping the green dot, the second State (which sits just on top of the dot) should appear.
Like I said, in theory (with the preview function on the computer it works, but not on the ipad

  • Updates to Folio Panel, Producer Tools and Content Viewer on iPad breaking scroll panels

This has not been a good morning.
Came into the office this morning, logged in and saw that there were updates for the Content Viewer, Producer Tools and the Folio Panel. Updated them all. Started to work some more on a promo piece for a new magazine and began to notice Scroll Panels using the "Pan Only" form within the Content Overlay panel no longer work. This was a great way to create scroll panels that could contain hyperlinks. Problem is, I am not sure where the problem lies. Is the problem with the Viewer or with the updates to the Folio Tools or Folio Panel? I am unfortunately on deadline for this afternoon and I don't have the luxury to troubleshoot this. Granted, I probably shouldn't have updated all of these tools at this juncture, but I was hoping that these updates would fix the problem I was having with the Desktop Viewer that wasn't working. Sadly, the Desktop Viewer works now, but that came with the price of losing functionality elsewhere.
    Frustrated.

Yeah, it's been a project that I was working on for the last two weeks. We were supposed to have a final walk-through this afternoon and present it tomorrow. But now a good portion of the features that were working and had been promised no longer work. All out of no fault of my own. I understand that these things can happen, but this one is pretty bad and the timing was worse. Like I said, I shouldn't have updated the tools and the Viewer app until after the presentation... but then again, that may have been even worse. At least I was able to get the presentation postponed until Monday... gives me a little more time to figure out what to do.
Anyways, I did able to get a hold of someone through support and was able to send them some files. It's being looked at as I type this. I do have to give credit to the Adobe support staff, they've been helpful and pretty responsive! Thanks guys!

  • View output button disabled when publishing to pdf

I am using Captivate 4 and must publish all my Captivate files to pdf for distribution throughout my organisation. I have two issues:
    1) After publishing to pdf, the View Output button is disabled, and I get the message you must have Adobe Reader 9 or better installed to view
I have Adobe Reader XI installed
I am able to open the pdf from my desktop
I saw elsewhere to try unticking the Zip files output option. Zip files and all other output options are unticked
I have tried publishing using Flash Player 7 (the earliest version available in the Flash Player Version menu) with same result
So the question is, is there some setting I am missing to enable the view output button, or another solution?
    2) This wouldn't really be a problem, except some users with Adobe 9 installed are reporting they cannot open the pdfs from their desktop. I thought I would try publishing so that output is compatible with earlier versions of Adobe Reader but can't figure out how to do that.
So, is there some way to publish to be compatible with Adobe Reader 8 or earlier? Also, many users are accessing videos through a terminal server - could that be  the problem?
    Thanks very much in advance

You aren't printing the PDF.  You're printing the spool because the user ID has the print immediately field selected and the GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS picks up that setting.  You simply need to blank out the value of TDIMMED in your l_print_parameters
    structure...

  • Adobe Content Viewer: Vertical Overview-Button gone

    Hi
Does anybody know why in the upper navigation field (top right) the overview button disappeared in the content viewer? Since some days it is only possible to see a horizontal overview of the chapters. Or does that have to do something with the folio? (We didn't change anything within InDesign)
Many thanks for your help. Best, Robin

This is part of the UI changes we made in release 25. Instead of tapping that button just drag the horizontal scrollbar along the bottom of the screen. That will take you into browse mode.
