Content Viewer missing when InDesign is installed via Packager: how to install it? (Windows)

Hello there,
we're having an issue deploying InDesign CC via Packager on 9+ Windows7 workstations: Content Viewer is missing - error when previewing a Folio. (I've verified it can not be included in the package)
I've suggested administrators to manually install DPS Desktop tools downloaded from the Adobe website (Adobe - DPS Desktop Tools : For Windows) over the deployed InDesign, they report install is not successful.
All other CC applications work, including InDesign (updated to latest Feb 2015 release). Adobe AIR seems to be installed.
User has admin roles. Any suggestion about the proper installation workflow? Can we install Content Viewer only?.

but i don't understand should i delete all my partitions or just only the " C:\ " and "100~200MB" system partition
did he mean delete Only the both " C:\ " and "100~200MB" system partition ?
cause I don't have "100~200MB" system partition just " C:\ "
When i install i just Format the " C:\ " then press
Next
Now should I just select Delete the " C:\ "
partition 0 "System" and recreate the partition again and press
Next
to Continue the installation
Or what i should do ?

that's not possible i have a lot of Important data in all non-system partitions
i am using Oracle VM VirtualBox "and i free a lot of Space to Test the Iso File"
and i install Windows 8.1 in the VirtualBox
but i see when i try to install Windows 8.1 in the real machine the partition is
"system"
and when i install Windows 8.1 in VirtualBox the partition is
"Unallocated"
it install but it create a
320MB partition "system"
9.8GB partition "primary"
then i choose the primary and the installation complete and i have the Windows 8.1 in VirtualBox Now
Now i don't know should I just select Delete the " C:\ "
partition 0 "System" and recreate the partition again
to make 320MB partition "system" and the rest of the partition to Windows 8.1 "28.8 GB"
Like what happen in the VirtualBox
Or what i should do ?

i encountered same problem as you did.
please could you elaborate how you resolve the problem "by passing oracle_sid at cmmond prompt and then starting the database, before that check listner is running or not , if not start listner"

Adobe Content Viewer missing

Hi When i try to preview my folio with the preview option located in the folio builder pane in Indesign Cs 5.5 it says it cant find the adobe content viewer. Can anyone help

I am having the exact same issue as you are in InDesign CS5.5. My Adobe Content Viewer application is also missing and is not in Applications>Adobe. I am also getting the same error message as you are when trying to use Folio Preview. So I don't repost everything here, pls. view my current thread here. I reinstalled the Folio Producer tools to no avail, and then tried to install the Adobe Content Viewer
by drilling down in the Folio Producer installer (AdobeDigitalPublishing-mul > payloads > AdobeContentViewer-mul > AdobeContentViewer.air) but was not able to because I am now getting THIS following message:
"This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."
I am on a Mac with OS 10.7.

White screen in the Adove Content Viewer (Android) when playing OAM files, how do I fix this?

I made an oam animation for an "advertisement" article within the folio. Just simply imported the OAM file, set the overlay settings, and preview. Perfect, everything was fine.
Now a white screen appears. I can see the poster image when the page first loads, and then it goes blank. I read about similar white screen issues with OAM's, reading that this was a problem with PDF articles, so I went: "Ok, let me change it to PNG."
Nope, didn't work.
I tried JPG, that didn't work either. I tried PDF/PNG/JPG with delays from 0.125s - 0.5s, I tried placing an image on top of the OAM file, & I changed the user interactions, transparant background, etc.
Still white light.
So I thought, maybe the OAM file is f'd up, let me go make another OAM file with two png files that just moves their position. I tried it with & without a transparent poster image. Still a bright light.
It works in the Adobe Content Viewer on the desktop (as choppy as it is), but not on my device (Nexus 7).
Everything worked yesterday, I don't know if there was an update or something? Am I missing something?
I cannot convey to you how long i've been troubleshooting this issue because I need animations for my projects. I don't like posting on the forum unless I exhausted every source I could find.

You know what's odd?
Yesterday I said it wasn't working and gave up on it. I read this message and I know I had all my animations set to 0.125 - thanks to some past forum questions you've answered- to which I double checked within InDesign.
Anyway, I went to check the saved folio preview - the one that didn't work- and now it works.
I didn't' change anything from when I gave up on it yesterday.
I guess this is answered, although I do not know what happened to the same folio that didn't work yesterday, to work today.

Content Viewer Crashes When Viewing Web Content

Hi,
I'm having issues with the folio Content Viewer crashing before web pages fully load my hyperlinks. I need to proof the folio with the client before we can publish, so I need everything to be working and know that the final app will not have the same issue.
I've set up buttons that link to coordinates on Google Maps. When a button link is clicked, the web viewer begins to load then immediately disappears (sliding to the bottom of the screen before the web content finishes loading) or crashes the Content Viewer completely.
I searched the forums and did not really find any solutions, other than when using a lot of images, they need to be sized/sampled down to use less memory. My folio does have a few articles that use quite a few images, so I've sampled everything down to 72dpi and noticed a slight increase in loading speed when loading each article. At first I thought this fixed the issue as the maps were loading for me, but after switching articles, it's crashing again.
If anyone has come across this and has a solution, please help me out!

Adobe Content Viewer missing! Win7

H there,
Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop running Win7. Creative Suite Subscriber, no updates available, already tried installing this http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5376 but nothing changes. I can preview on my iPad though. I'd like to have this fixed as soon as possible, please.

Here's the steps for resolving this from another thread:
1) Check and make sure the Adobe Content Viewer shows in your Start menu. If it does, run it and then try previewing again.
2) If it's installed but preview still doesn't work try fixing up the file type assocation for .folio. See http://forums.adobe.com/message/4617478.
3) If it isn't installed try installing it from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\AdobeDigitalPublishingCS6\ContentViewer\AdobeC ontentViewer.air"

Turn off the caps and tell us the problem and or error messages you receive. If the issue is "no hard disks found" or similar the follow the steps;
Method 3: Provide the correct drivers for the hard disk controller
You cannot select or format a hard disk partition when you try to install Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Custom View Missing when using NSToolBar

Hi all
I have a window with a custom view on it ( PreferencePanelWindowController.h .m .xib ). And I have two views ( PreferenceGeneral.h .m .xib and PreferenceLogging.h .m .xib ) which can be loaded into the custom view.
Now the General view loads when the window is opened however if I add an NSToolBar to the window then the General view won't load when opening the window.
This is the case both when I create the NSToolBar programmatically or if I simply use interface builder to pop the Toolbar on.
Why would this be and how would I get round this.
Incidentially I have tried reloading the view in awakefronib and windowdidload.

Ok if in awakefromnib I remove [self buildToolBar]; then the view loads but obviously there is now no toolbar.
Futher more you can leave that in and remove [self.window setToolbar:_toolbar]; in the buildToolBar method which obviously stops the toolbar drawing but the view loads.
So why would drawing the toolbar stop the custom view loading even though the view method is run after the toolbar method.

0x800096002 Error When trying to install a windows product in 8.1

I'm trying to install Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg from windows and i keep getting the 0x800096002 error any help? This is a Valid Signature from Microsoft as this is an Official product so there shouldn't be any problems. If anyone knows

Based on my research, kb958559 is Virtual PC package which is incompatible with Windows 8.1. At the same time, the error code 0x800096002 means there is a file hash mismatch when you try to search for available updates from the Windows Update Web site or
from the Microsoft Update Web site.

Why am I getting the error the installation package could not be opened when trying to install on Windows 7 64 bit

I reciece the follwing message when trying to install

If you have not been able to install iTunes because the Windows Installer service is not available, I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following troubleshooting to help.

2007A PL8 UOMs are missing when creating a document via DI-API

If a document is created via DI-API the UOMs are missing.
The behavior till PL8 was that UOMs were taken from the item master when creating a new document.

This is a confirmed Bug. The DI-Api always uses the Inventory UoM. As work around you have to put the Sales UoM into the Inventory UoM.
I hope they we will fix this soon.

Content Viewer crashing when changing orientation

The magazine I've made seems to be crashing A LOT when I change orientations. This is more noticeable when I go back and fourth between orientation Vertical to Horizontal then imediately back to Vertical. (My client is pissed off).
I've tested this on iPad 1, 2 & 3 and have the same issue on each. I'm using CS6 and my folio is PDF rather than JPG or PNG.
Does anyone else have this problem or can suggest a way to make changing orientation more stable?

I'll give the same advice I just gave someone else. It's possible you've run into a bug, However, first try the two standard troubleshooting tips:

(2) If that doesn't work, you might guess the file is corrupted. Save it as an INX file:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526991

Initial selection screen missing when execting a query via web

Hello all.
We have a problem when we try to execute a query in web. We developped queries via query designer and we published all in a role. By doing it system generates a link that makes possible to execte this query via web. The issue is that sometimes the initial selection screen doesn´t appear (and the variables are "ready to input".
Could anybody help me?

In the WAD properties of the webtemplate.. carefully look for 'Force Variable Screen' Check that option..
Save and rerun the same.. it should be able to see the screen after that..

I have Office 2007 Enterprise on 2 computers and am trying to install Office professional Plus 2013 on Win 7 machines...On both I am getting request to find missing file

I cant find it anywhere including an Office ultimate 2007 Cd install disc

ProPlusWW.cab is a file from Office Pro Plus installation.
Since ProPlusWW.cab is missing, the installation resource may be damaged. You can download the install resource from Microsoft website and reinstall it.
