Contents of ECC 5.0

Hi all,
could you confirm that ECC 5 means :
Sap Netweaver
- WAS 6.40
- EP
- XI
and so on ... (technical elements)
and also include
R/3 Standard application (FI/CO, ...)
Could you also confirm that the main difference between ECC5 and ECC4 is the WAS (Upgrade from 6.20 to 6.40)

Hello Experts,
Plz tell me.. How could we check the version of the business content installed for ECC 5.0? I tried to search for the same in the forum but I couldnt.. plz let me know as I doubt that the business content is not properly installed for ECC 5.0 in my PC. and also I see only Technical content for Object Types under Business Content in AWB.

I am using my ECC 5.0 as BW system as it got BW 3.5.. and I am really trying to see the Business Content Cubes like 0PUR_C01,0PUR_C04 etc... and in RSA1>Business Content> Object Types I could see only the Technical Content cubes..(not able to see the SD,MM..etc related cubes)...
And yeah I have R/3 PI installed with 2004_1_490 Version.. and so I could see all the Business Content DataSources in the source system...
Is there one more PI for BW?? or the same as above??

How to find the difference in BI Content between SAP ERP 4.7 and ECC 6.0

We are looking at upgrading our SAP system from 4.71 to ECC 6.0, and I have been tasked with determining what new data may become available in our BW system after the upgrade. I was wondering if there was a site that would tell me what new datasources/infoproviders are made available after an upgrade to ECC 6.0.
I do not need to see the list of all Business Content in ECC 6.0, just what has changed.
Also, the type of upgrade we are looking at performing is a "Technical Upgrade", which presumably just upgrades the SAP back end without affecting the front end. Can someone confirm that the new BW content will then be available after a technical upgrade?

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....
Click on Search
Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

Transfer rules are not exist for ECC Quality source system in BI Dev

Hi,
I Connected BI Dev system To ECC Dev and installed the sales, purchasing,... data flow, but here i am not getting the quality data to show the reports, to get Quality data I established the connection between BI Dev and ECC QA, while installing the transfer rules for the ECC QA data sources there no transfer rules are exist(only some of them exist) in the business content, but all the update rules,... are exist, when i right on the data source say create transfer rules it is proposing App praposal.
When i select source system as ECC dev while installing the transfer rules i can see all the transfer rules, but when i select source system as ECC QA i can see only some transfer rules.
only problem with transfer rules(some of them exist), for remaining all objects are properly existing in business content for ECC QA source system.

Thanks for the quick reply. We are not moving the stuff to QA. We are only connecting QA ECC system to BI Dev. We already have datasources moved to ECC QA and created source system for ECC QA in BI Dev.
The problem is I am not able to get Business Content transful rule for new source system. We I can find some but not all unlike development.
Help on this would be appreciated.

Vendor Master Portal-Adobe-workflow-ECC scenario?

I have a scenario to build a portal for vendor master using adobe forms.
at the high level steps that will be taken as follows
- design the adobe forms
- integrate the forms
- forms storage? where
- configure uwl with GP
- Interface to ECC ( from Portal content to ECC for field validation)
- Interface to ECC ( from GP to ECC to create vendor master )

How to install BI-CONT 7.37 in SAP ECC system EHP 5

Hi SAP Gurus,
We recently upgraded BI_CONT in our BW landscape(SAP netweaver 7.3) from 7.36 to 7.37
What is the strategy to upgrade BI _CONT or corresponding changes in SAP ECC system(EHP 5).
Currently we don't have BI_CONT installed in our ECC system.
KIndly, let me know how to upgarde BI_CONT related objects.
Earlier we used to use custom extractors and data sources in ECC system for BI_CONT now we business has planned to use all standard data sources.
Question here is do we need to install BI_CONT in SAP ECC and what is the procedure?

No need to upgrade or install add-on BI CONTENT in ECC system if you have already BI landscape for doing BI functions.
BI content includes below functionality which can be installed as an add on in ECC when you dont have BI landscape.

List of the datasources (ECC 6)

Hi,
I just would get the list of all the datasources from the Business content (for ECC 6). I would put them in an Excel sheet (technical name + description).
Is there a table in SE16 with all the datasources?
Or does it exist a documentation with directly all the datasources in one page?
I still know the transaction RSA5... But it's hard to copy all the datasources in an Excel sheet

Use tables ROOSOURCE for the datasources - search with OBJVERS=D and ROOOSOURCET will give you the descriptions...

BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0 in the same server

Dear experts,
In my company the scenarion is like, we have installed ECC 6.0 in server where development work is going on.
Now we have requirement to implement the BI 7.0 in the same server as already BI content is existing in the same server.
My question is
Is it possible to implement the BI on the same server?
If yes, is it possible to extract the data from the development client on the same server where ECC 6.0 running?
If No, then what is the use of the BI contents in the ECC 6.0 server?

Yes, why not? But that will be a separate SAP installation with different SID.

Yes, that is possible. Both the system will be having different Logical system name. You have to create a source system connection from ur BI to ECC system and then data extraction is possible.

BI Content in ECC is there to facilitate data extraction from ECC to BI. It would provide you the structure of data extraction. Presence of BI Cont does not mean a ECC system will be working as BI system.

I have been installing the Discovery System and a seperate CE 7.1 system with the ESR. Now I downloaded the XI content "XI Content ESA ECC-SE 602" and imported it. All went well except that there are no models included.
Is there any way of getting all the models related to the ECC 6.0 Enterprise Services shipped with the Discovery System as shown in the ES Workplace?

Ting on ECC side BW Business Content is installed via so called plug-ins.

Since you are running ECC and not R/3 in this case SAP delivers "all" plug-ins in one package called PI_BASIS. In your case it seems that you are on same level of this component which is:

all XI Content from SAP is delivered via the <a href="http://www.sap.com/services/servsuptech/smp">SAP service marketplace</a>.
a) After you entered the service marketplace go to Software Download under the header SAP Support Portal.
b) Next navigate to Download -> Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group
c) In the main window select SAP Content and then Process Integration Content (XI Content).
d) Here you find all XI content delivered by SAP. Based on your authorization some content that requires an additional license may not be visible to you.
I actually don't know the B2MML XI Content. You should check the major product (like ERP, CRM, SCM) where this functionality is delivered with. For example XI content for SCM can be found under XI CONTENT SCM or XI CONTENT SCM BASIS.

Hi,
You can get the B2MML (ISA95) XI content in SAP Service Marketplace under SAP xApps -> SAP xMII -> ANSI/ISA95 EXMPL & ANSI/ISA95 ERP EXMPL.
This has been released as example XI content for R/3 4.6C, Enterprise 4.7, ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0 (different namespaces under the ANSI/ISA ERP SWCV signifies the XI content for these differnent R/3 releases).

I know there are lots of document but not able to reach any decision. I am kind of confusion with what to do. I am thinking I will get my answer with the experts in this forum.
Current environment: SAP ERP ECC 6.0 SPS 6 Kernel 700 release and level 179 windows NT x64 and MS SQL 8.00 179 level
Requirement: update the environment to current.
With research either can go from SPS 6 to SPS 17
OR
update to SPS13 and then upgrade to EHP4 (not quite sure about this)
But if you go EHP4 might require hardware or memeory or other changes.

As of today, only one menu, "Preconditioned Product Version" exists under "SAP ERP ES 2005".
I followed SMP menu as follows:
/swdc -> Download -> Support Packages and Patches -> My company's Applitaion Components -> SAP ERP ES -> SAP ERP ES 2005
On the other hand, there are the following three menues under "SAP ERP ES 2004".
- ESA ECC-SE 501
- XI CONTENT ESA ECC-SE 501
- Preconditioned Product Version
According to the following forum, ECC-SE 600 SP3 is released on Dec 20 2006.
