Context attributes where used list

hello,
is there a way to find out the no longer used context attributes?
I need something like a where used list mechanism for context attributes.
My aim is to delete all context attributes which are not bound to any ui elements or not accessed in the abap coding.
In a larger wda it is a problem to identify the not used context attributes.

This is a new feature in NetWeaver 7.0 Enahncement Package 2 - but not available before then. It works at the node level however - not the attribute level. It tells what views and components (cross component context binding) the node is bound to as well as any methods that reference the content node in coding (as long as you use the generated constants for access - such as wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_* ) ).

Nav-attribute will also be see as a attribute in the system search for it and click on where used list of it.
Search for the Info object 0BATCH_0PLANT. double click on it -- click on the where used list of the nav-attribute.
It will display all the dependent objects where its used.
With this you can get the IC,DSO,MP names where this object is used. next with the help of those MP,IC and DSO you can get the list of queries.

Hi,
Try RSD1 call the "Metadata Search" (Ctrl+F4; or go via "Environment" -> "Metadata Search"). Then, click the "Advanced Search" button.
In the screen being displayed, -
> "Query Element" for the "Search Attributes".
Then, for the attribute name "Characteristic Used" type in the value of the InfoObject, for which you want to have listed all Queries, which make use of it or a navigation attribute of that InfoObject. The search result is displayed in the list below and the technical names of the affected queries are listed.

Hierarchy in Queries (Where-used-list)

All,
We have hierarchies in many BW reports. Is it possible to get a where-used-list of hierarchy. Ex. Hierarchy A is used in which reports?
Any idea?

Program to get where used list

I was looking for a FM or program that would provide me the where used list for an object.
Actually I need to create such a list for all the objects included in a transport request.
The end goal is to find out which all programs/tcodes are linked to these objects.
Please suggest...

I don't think it is realistic. If a transport has a program then you want to find out where the program is used, or if the transport has table entries, what is 'whereused' in this context?
But to find out the where used list for known objects, use the function module 'RS_TOOL_ACCESS' where operation = 'CROSSREF'. Go through the code once to understand the parameters. Unfortunately there is no documentation on this, but you can probably do a 'where-used' on this function module to get an idea.

How to find out where used list of Table or T-code

Dear ABAP gurus
I know many of you have done this several times.
wish to find out which Transaction code INSERTs the data into the table IHPA.
I did the where used list - SE11 ( for specific key work called INSERT ).
Used the Table called D010TAB which has some information.
Vise versa if I know a T-CODE , how to know which tables it read & Modify...
any better procedure than spending hours in research...
I found similar custom program to find USER EXITS ...here..., looking soething similar...

Where used list of a function module

hello ,
i want to find out where used list of a function modules , but the problem when I try where used button with in a function module Im getting message saying 'Function Is Not An Include' when it is used in other programs. Function AKB_WHERE_USED_LIST does not exist.Function FUNC_GET_OBJECT does not show the names of the programs.Im Stuck..Plz advise.

Short dump with Where-used list

Hi All,
I'm making some research on specific InfoObjects, and in some cases I want to know where are they being used, but when I try to use the icon for "Where-used list using Data Warehouse" I end up with an error, a short dump.
Message class is: RSQBW
Trigger Location of Runtime Error:

Hi Miriam
In the short dump you should also see the name of the infoset in question.
You probably have to adjust the infoset in transaction RSISET and they try to run the where used list again.

Where used list for business objects in TM

Hi,
There is a where used list framework in TM7 for
Transportation Zone, Lane etc. Is it possible to include the same for TCM business objects like
FA, Tariff, TCCS, Rate Table, Scale etc. Is it possible to do the customization?

Where used list doesn't work for global data

Hi,
When i try to do where used list on a constant in an include, it doesn't give the results for classes.
The class contains the include in a method that uses the constant, and the where used list for that constant doesn't find the appearance of the constant in the class.
I tried to look for oss note that solves the problem but i couldn't find any.

I tried to update the navigation index but it still doesn't work. from my debuging i found out that it just doesn't look in classes, all classes. I mean even in the where used itself there is not an option for used in classes. I checked it and it's a generic problem of the where used list for global data.

Where used listing for Query Variables

Can someone tell me how to get this list from the metadata repository or from the transport connector?
I have read this thread "where used" list for BEx variables but this isn't working for us.
Is there some config that is required which we have missing?
We are running BI7 SP19 if this helps.

Yeah I figured as much, but this is why I am thinking we have something missing, config or otherwise.
Cause all I get when I do this is a new window with just the Variable details and nothing else, no where used list at all i.e.

hi go to the tcode...
1) Create Segment ( WE31)
2) Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
3) Create Message Type ( WE81)
4) Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)
Tcode- we19 is for testing idoc
in the we42 the message type and the idoc function module is ataached by the process code..
this is a best example to understand the creation of idocs(z)..

Function Module where-used list does not find update rule programs

We have function modules called in update rules. The where-used list in the function builder does not find the update rule programs.
For example, function DATE_GET_WEEK is called in an update rule to InfoCube YCUBE001. The activated program name for this update rule is GP3PWI6PKM5Y3K75A370DIS8I77. When I goto SE37, enter the function DATE_GET_WEEK, click the where-used button, check the programs option and search. The system does not find the program GP3PWI6PKM5Y3K75A370DIS8I77.
Without this search capability it is difficult to do an impact analysis of changing function modules. Does anyone know of a solution?

i think the reason is the code of update rules' generated program are stored line by line in table(rsaabap), update rules program itself stored in table rsupdrout, link with field codeid, another useful table is rsupdinfo which store infocube, infosource related. other info may stored in some other rs* and rsa* tables.
try to create following program in your system, and run, type in the function module name, and will display out the update rules program id, with additional useful info : which infoprovider, infosource, and detail info of the routine and infoobject in the update rule that using that function module. you may modify the program to have better display out list.
