Context Aware licenses difference for MSE 3310

Hello
I am getting a hard time in order to understand the real difference between the two types of context aware licenses for the MSE:
1 . AIR-CAS-1KC-K9 -  Context Aware License For 1K Clients and Tags (RSSI based)
2. AIR-CAS-1KT-K9 -  Context Aware License For 1K Tags(RSSI, Chokeponts and TDOA)
For a regular network without any devices with tags such as RFID, I understand I do not need to get the .2, only .1, even though the .1 also is shared with clients at 1K of each. Also, the .2 does not say clients, only tags and advanced features as TDOA. Going through the Q&A it does not clearly says the difference, when to use one or the other.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

basically the KC license will track Wi-Fi clients, interferers, wired devices and Wi-Fi tags based only on the RSSI value.
If you need to track your tags via choke points then you need the KT license. KT is only for the tags

  • MSE 7.4 Base Location Services and Context Aware Licences?

Hi! I have a question for MSE Base Location Services and Context Aware Licences. Do I need to add Base Location Services and Context Aware Licences in L-MSE-PAK or just enough Base Location Services Licences? What is the difference in these licenses?
I know that the Base Location Services license is determined by the number of access points, and Context Aware license is determined by the number of devices.
Please help me with this issue.

OK, for example, a customer bought a Context Aware license. Can he activate it in MSE 7.4 or need to install MSE 7.3 with Context Aware license and then upgrade to MSE 7.4?

  • No context aware with Aironet 3500i

    Hi there
we have an AeroScout installation on a big campus. Some old APs (Aironet 1140) have been replaced by the Aironet 3500i APs and now there are no context aware information (location) anymore at these spots.
Does anyone know, what the problem could be. I don't believe that it is a licensing problem, or do the Aironet 3500 APs need additional licenses for context aware (additional to the standard WCS Plus and Context Aware licenses)?
Thanks a lot and best regards
    Dominic

    Hi Nicolas
I got more detailed information, so I think it is a problem of the partner engine in combination with Mobile View (AeroScout), I will open a case on their support side.
The clients and tags are all shown on the WCS for all APs (even for 3500i), so the MSE is working correctly. But the tags are not shown in the Mobile View for the new APs. Just as an information.
I will keep the post updated.
    Regards

  • Documentation for MSE 7.3.101.0 & Services...

    Hey guys-
Just did an upgrade on a MSE from 7.2.110.0 to 7.3.101.0.  This image upgraded my Context Aware Services from 7.2.1.54 to 7.3.0.40 and upgraded my WiPS from 1.0.3010.0 to 1.0.4038.0.
Question is.... where do I find the configuration guides for these versions?  I'm on the Cisco Configuration Guides page for the MSE 3355 and the only versions displayed are 7.2.103.0 & 7.4.100.0 (for both services).
Any recommendations on what CG I should be using?  Or where might I find the appropiate documentation or CG?
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps9742/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html
    Thanks

You need to reference the code you upgraded the MSE to not the CAS or wIPS version. Anywho... The Prime will manage all that anyways so that's where the configuration needs to be configured.

  • Is a license required for Oracle 11g installed on private developer box?

    Hello,
I wish to install Oracle 11g on my personal computer to test some software that hits a database. Will I be able to install/run 11g on my machine for this use, or will it (eventually) prompt me for a license key? If I need a license, is there a free developer license available? I can't seem to find any info on this.
How is the licensing structured around the 11g "XE" BETA (express edition)? Is there a licensing difference between XE and non-XE?
And finally, is there a good summary of what features are missing from the XE edition? I tried installing 10g XE, and for example, the "DEFAULT TABLESPACE xxx" SQL command was not recognized. I need this 'feature' (as well as others). I'm assuming I'm going to need to install the full 11g release, but I hope there is no license required.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

The general license agreement is here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/licenses/standard-license-152015.html
In short, yes - you can download the software and use it for testing/prototyping.
11gXE Beta license terms are here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/licenses/ea-license-152003.html

  • How to make transparancy context-aware when green screening.

I am using After Effects CS6 about 1 month and face a problem.  I have successfully green screened marionettes so I can place in a video without showing the string, which is also green.  The string did become transparent within the mask but within the marionette body, it just turned brown and moves like string. Question: Does anyone know how I can alter the string to be context aware?

That could be a tough one; there isn't any way to make a chroma key contextually aware.  You can animate the beginning and ending points of the Simple Wire Removal effect that comes with AE to see if it does an adequate repair job for you.

Please recommend solution recovery MSE 3310

Do you have data you need?  If not, just reinstall the MSE.  You can do this by burning an ISO of the image to CD and running that.  But maybe it would be faster just to open up a TAC case to see if that is the best way or if something went wrong with the hardware.

  • License Determination for Imports

    Hello All,
We would like to implement a License Determination Strategy for imports. I have not tried it yet, because I am still awaiting final specifications from the user department. But before I can tell them, that we can do this in GTS, I was hoping to find out if anyone has been successful implementing.
Any thoughts, comments or actual experience out there?
    Regards, Dean

Dean, you absolutely can use GTS to cover that for you.  Creating the legal regulation itself is no different then anything else you already have for export.
The main differences for import are when you create the numbering scheme, you will want to use the create for Import lists instead of create for Export lists, and then when you create the determination strategies as well - you'll want to set the codes up as ICCN's for import in the Classification/Master Data area of Comp Management.  From there maintaining the strategy(ies) are the exact same as they would be for import, only again you'd be using Legal Control - Import as opposed to export.
Hopefully that helps a bit, I know I was pretty breif in the description.  Do let me know if it helps though or if you have any other questions!

  • Cisco WLC with Bonjor services - MSE 3310 compatibility

    Hi All,
We have a Cisco WLC 5508 currently running on code 7.2. We have Cisco MSE 3310 appliance (which is EoS & EoS) and it is running on code 7.2 as well.
Now, we want to implement Bonjor Gateway services to support Apple Services such as Apple TV, Apple Printer etc.
My understanding is that in order to deploy Bonjour gateway the controller needs to be at least on version 7.4.
I can upgrade the Controller Code, but I need to know the compatibility between Cisco WLC code 7.4 (7.4.100.0) with Cisco MSE 3310 code (7.3.101.0, as it the highest code available). MSE 3310 appliance compatibility with WLC Code 7.4 ?
I checked the Cisco Software Compatibility Matrix, and it's not clear at all.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#pgfId-148309
    Thanks and Regards,
    CJ

If you really want to keep everything compatible, you might want to look at another route, like using Avahi as an mDNS gateway.  Take a look at this document... there are other mDNS gateways out there which can work, but this doc is strictly for the Avahi:

  • Disappearing context aware tool bar

Where do I report a bug?
I've assigned InDesign to a 'Desktop' formerly called 'Space'. Mac Lion 10.7.4 Done via the InDesign icon in the dock. Right click the icon > Options > Assign to: Desktop 2,3, whatever.
So I've bobbed out of InDesign into Firefox or Mail on a different desktop. When I click the InDesign icon in the Dock to return to InDesign, the screen slides to the space ok, but InDesign appears without the top context aware tool/attributes bar... not sure what it's called but the one immediately below the 'ID' bar in the default 'Essentials' workspace. Blimey, takes some explaining doesn't it. Anyway it's missing - there's a gap across the top of the screen below the 'ID' bar. If I slide (4 finger gesture) to the default desktop, there the missing bar is for the briefest moment!!!! Clearly while the main app is happy to reside in the Desktop/space... the toolbar gets mightly confused.
If I cmd+tab between applications, it also does it (though I'm not sure it's consistent), but if I use the gesture to move from desktop/space to InDesign Desktop, it seems fine (though I've not tested this rigorously).
    InDesign CS6

Lots of problems, apparently, with Spaces...
anyway, you can report a bug at Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form

  • ASA Context Aware Security (CX) Vs URL filetering (websense)

    Fellas,
I'm new to ASA and PIX. I have PIX with websense for URL filtering. We are upgrading to ASA 5585-X wih CX context aware module. Will I still be needing Websense, since we have CX. What would be the best soultions? Thanks in Advance.
    Happy New Year!

This is not a popular thing for a reseller like me to say, but I am not a fan of the CX module.  It does a little bit of a lot of things, but doesn't do particularly well at any of them; that is to say, it is not for example a replacement for a proper e-mail filter or web filter or IPS.
I would stick with Websense versus moving to the CX module.  I have had a lot of clients try - against my suggestion - to use just the CX module and every one of them has come back to their URL filtering boxes.  With that said, I might recommend trying IronPort instead - it may sound a bit biased coming from someone on the Cisco forums, but I really have found it to be a substantially suprerior platform for most (not all, but most) installations.

  • Licensing Inquiry for ME-3600x and ME-3800X

I would like to know how the licensing works for ME-3600X and ME-3800X.
    For 3600X
    1. What is the base license for Cisco ME 3600X-24TS Ethernet Access Switch -ME-3600X-24TS-M?
    2. If I want to upgrade the license to Advanced Metro IP Services  using L-ME3600X-A, do I need to have L-ME3600X-LIC= to activate it?
    For 3800X
    1. What is the base license for Cisco ME 3800X-24FS Ethernet Carrier Ethernet Switch Router - ME-3800X-24FS-M?
    2. What is the difference between L-ME3800X-A  and L-ME3800X-I-A?
    3. What is METRO IP2 AGGREGATION SERVICES?
    4. If I want to upgrade the license to ME3800X-S do I need to have L-ME3800X-LIC= to activate it?
    For software options
    1. Do I need to include this on the first purchase? I mean, assuming I have the upgrade licenses and the smartnet services for 3600x and 3800x.

    Ben:
Thank you very much for contacting National Instruments. From our license agreement, an authorized application is defined as:
" An application that you create with development versions of the SOFTWARE that you have validly licensed. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any application created with the SOFTWARE acquired under an
evaluation license is not an Authorized Application."
As far as the copyright notice is concerned, you should include "Copyright ©[yr] National Instruments Corporation. All Rights
Reserved " alongside your name. However it does not say that NI owns the right of your product.
I hope this helps and please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
