Continually getting asked to change email account ...

We have several sub email accounts under a primary email account. We are still on BT/Yahoo mail.
For several months now, we frequently get problems accessing one of the sub accounts from our computer, phone etc. When we then log onto email account from the main BT website to check there, we are sent to a page that says your account may be compromised and asks us to change our password. This has happened countless times. Sometimes we can get a week or so between these requests, other times it may be only a few hours. For instance we had to change the password yet again this morning after only changing it yesterday evening.
Only one of our email accounts has this problem - the rest we have no problems with. I have checked the virus protection of our computers and ran virus scans. I have also checked the settings etc. on the email account to ensure that they have not been changed.
This is getting to be a real pain as it means we have to go to the bother of continually changing passwords on our computer and phone etc. What can be done to solve this problem.

I suspected that that might be the case and that it will go away when we get migrated to BT mail. However it is a very frustrating and annoying problem, especially with not knowing what is happening with regard to the the migration.
We have delayed asking about the problem because we kept thinking that we would get changed over soon. However with nothing happening since the abortive changeover last year, when after a week on the new BT mail system, we got moved back to BT Yahoo with the loss of all emails receved during that time, I thought it best to ask if there was a solution.
Does anyone have any idea of what could cause the BT Yahoo mail system to think that an account is compromised and is there anything at all that we could do that might reduce the problem. It is very strange that it only seems to affect one of our accounts.

    I figured it out! I changed my email & password at the icloud site, then when I deleted the icloud account on my iphone - it still showed my old email but when i typed in my current password it went through. I was then able to sign back in with my current email and password. That was too easy for the amount of time I have put into this!  Glad its finally fixed.

    I cannot request a new password because you will send the email to my old address. Do I have to create a new account and if so will it affect any of my present Firefox settings?

    Retrieving the password is possible by using the email address used to register only.
    any email change will request a confirmation by using the existing email account.
    For any case it is not possible, your only option will be to enter the Setup Menu of the Printer,
    Reset the Web Services, then enable it again by creating and using a new HP ePrint Center user account.

    My wife just got an iPhone and would like to get a .me / Apple email account.  Can she do this on her new iPhone, or does she need to own a Mac?

    This can be done from the iPhone... Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.
    Note that MobileMe is to be discontinued this summer and replaced by iCloud, so she may want to set up an iCloud mail account, which still has an @me.com address.

  • Registering a computer on a bank account does not work on some sites. I continually get asked to register the computer

    Logging in to several financal sites (most work ok) results in a message stating that the computer is not recognzed and asks a security question if I wish to continue and want to register this computer (as opposed using a public computer) . The next time around, after registering the computer, I get asked the same thing. Seems like the Adobe flash stuff is not sticking for some sites. Any solution ?

    Try heading here. Click "Manage your account", login and change your primary email address. You'll then be sent a confirmation email to your new primary address that will ask you to verify it as your own. Click the link, log in, and you're done.

  • Can't get into talk talk email account in Mozilla, you have undefined new mails in your inbox message. No problem with Internet Explorer though

    I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

    Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

    Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

  • Cannot change email account settings

    I have been getting error messages trying to send email saying the email is in my outbox as it cannot determine my outgoing email server!!
    I see a thread here giving the guidance in Mail (Yosemite): Verify an account’s outgoing mail server   Looking at the account as directed I cannot see Account Information just nothing there I can see in Menu, double clicking on the account name so I cannot check or change the SMTP server. The only thing I can see is a Details button but that has nothing to allow setting anything other then the email account name, password and the display name. The account Information is not there.
    Help please to find this Account Information so I can check/change the SMTP server.

    I'm sorry to hear you are having mail issues with your Mac. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing/describing. What are you seeing when you go to Mail > Preferences and select the Accounts tab? Does it show more than one account in the left hand column, and does it allow you to select your account? What does it say for Account Type? You may also find the additional troubleshooting steps in the following article helpful, in particular the portion about using the Mail Connection Doctor:

    How do I change an pop email account to a imap account so that iMac and iPad can access mail server at same time without getting a (server not responding) error message.

    Im not sure that will solve your problem, but if you want to try, go at it.  Your provider needs to support imap.  Gmail and yahoo do.  Comcast does not.  If yous does, probablymthe easiestmthing to do is delete the account entirely from your padd, then re add it, this time picking imap.  If you have it set up on the mac the same way, you might need to do the same thing there.
    Post back if that solves your problem.   I have never gotten that particular error, running a pop account on a mac and the pad.  Mys spousemgets the error from time to time on her imap account.  I attribute that to the really poor service that yahoo folks need to put up with.

    Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How to I get my Mac's email accounts onto my iPad?

    Prior to Mac OS 10.9 I could just sync all of my POP email accounts to my iOS device.  That feature in iTunes is now gone, and according to Apple's web page the email accounts just sync over iCloud.  But this is not happening for me.  My address book and calendar events are all synced, but my iPad is showing no email accounts (other than iCloud).  I cannot find any way to copy my account to the iPad from the Mac.
    I tried restoring from a backup of my iPhone, but even that didn't restore the email accounts.  It restored everything but that.  Do I really have to enter all of my email account details manually on the iPad to reconfigure my mail there?

    Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
    (On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
    (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
    For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

    For this issue,the only thing I can think now is that your version of Windows isn't activated correctly.
    Can you check Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Windows Activation
    You can get here by right clicking in the lower left hand corner, choosing "System" then clicking "View details in Windows Activation"
    Meanwhile, please let us know your account. Local account or Microsoft account?
    If your system has been activated, and then the issue still persists, please try using Microsoft account to change the account picture.

  • Need to fix things on firefox's end so I can get into my yahoo email account

    I haven't been able to log in my uk yahoo email account using firefox but can with google chrome. Just downloaded the newest version of firefox, but still I keep getting a message that my user name or password is incorrect.I already know that this is not the case.

    For those of you experiencing this problem, have you updated to the latest version of Firefox? I was having this problem but it seems to have been corrected after downloading Firefox 4.
